  "They'll fade," I whispered.

His eyes narrowed and I knew he was having trouble keeping his thoughts to himself.

"Talk to me," I said. "Don't keep it inside."

He glanced up, his gaze tearing away from my bruised body and focusing on my face. After a few beats, he seemed to calm down and stood. He kicked off his boots and stripped down to his boxers and climbed into bed next to me, pulling the covers over us.

"What's happening to you? With the cops?" he asked after a moment.

"They could've stung me for the ID theft," I began, "but I made a deal. I told them what I knew about Gorges' dealings and they wiped it. Never happened. The FBI want to talk to me, but that's for another day."

He squeezed my waist before raising his hand to brush against my split lip. "You're still Lilly to me."

I smiled, flinching when the tear in my skin stung. "I know. I kinda like being Lilly Hunter."

  "It suits you."

"I'm going to change it," I declared. "New start and all. Do it all legal and legit."

"Yeah?" He beamed at me, looking at me the way I'd always dreamed of. You know, the way that made everything inside you tingle and warm and moisten in the most important place?

  "Fuck, yeah."

He rolled onto his back, letting out a long sigh. I was totally exhausted in all senses of the word, but was still wide awake and would probably be wired all night.

"You could've gotten yourself killed, you know," I said, nestling into his side.

"I told you I was gunna look after you," he murmured, pressing his lips to mine.

"It was still stupid." I ran my hand over his stomach, just completely awed at the things this man did for me. "But I'm glad you did."

We lay together for a while, just happy to be in each other's arms.

"I'm pretty sure I love you," Rob said after a moment.

Sitting up on my good elbow so I could see him, I cocked my head to the side. "Pretty sure?"

"I knew it the moment I saw that gun pointing at your head."

"I knew it the moment I stepped into my apartment and found-"

He pressed his fingers to my lips gently, stopping me from saying the rest.

"It doesn't matter when," he whispered. "It only matters that we know."

Pulling me down to meet him, he kissed the side of my mouth, trying to dodge the cut best he could. Kissing him back, I knew he was right. The only thing that mattered was that we were here, together. Free and in fucking love.

Yeah, that was the only thing that mattered.

  Rob

  Our story didn't end there.

There were court cases to testify at. Meetings with the FBI. All kinds of schedule clashing with the band, but who could argue with the Feds, right? Not even Sasha could pull a swifty on them, but for the most part, everything was kept out of the press and hush hush. Sasha Montgomery was a fuckin' superstar.

Lilly was welcomed into the family in style. She was just like me. She had nobody to go back to, nobody but me and Affliction soon became her surrogate family as well. She became best mates with Blair and Alexis and I’m sure they were plotting some kind of world domination together. Seeing the smile on her face, being so carefree and open… That shit warmed my heart and yeah, I finally fuckin’ discovered I had one.

I might’ve grown up wrong, got messed up with a bunch of criminals and did some really stupid shit, but if I didn’t? Then I wouldn’t have the skills needed to get Lilly out of that apartment in one piece. It would be the first and last time I was grateful for being a reformed crook.

Some things happened for a reason, some things happened at random, but you never knew which one until the moment it mattered. It didn't matter how broken we were in the past, our broken edges fit together.

As the fuckin’ drummer I might be the last one to get the spotlight, but every night on tour I was the first one to walk out on stage. The first one to get screamed and cheered at. Now, as I walked out into the fray at our first warm up gig for the new tour, I took my place behind my kit and glanced side of stage. There were about two thousand people crammed into the small venue, but there was only one pair of baby blue eyes I wanted to see.

As Joe and Mick followed me out, my gaze found Lilly’s. All those things the guys said about being in love? I understood now and its like we were all lined up like Dominos. One fell and the rest followed. Affliction was officially off the market.

She was wreathed in darkness standing there in the wings, but I could pick her anywhere. Her purple hair was haloed in the blue lights from the stage and she was the most perfect thing on the planet. When this fuckin’ show was done, I was taking her straight back to the hotel and fucking her stupid. Scratch that. I’d make love to her until neither of us could stand. Hey, I didn’t need to be fuckin’ upright to play the drums. I was good for it.

Lilly smiled as I stared at her and blew me a kiss. I pointed a drumstick at her and mouthed, I love you and she started laughing. Turning back to my kit as West slung his guitar over his shoulder, I counted in for the first song.

Yeah, I was gunna make love to her until we passed out.

What the fudge was the deal with these extra novellas, Amity?

First up, I want to say thank you to all the readers who messaged me to say how much they enjoyed Blair and West’s story and if there was going to be any more. That lights an authors fire like you wouldn’t believe, btw. Asking for more.

And a special thanks goes out to Erin at Read and Ramble, Alice at All Things in the Cloud Sweet and Bethzaida at Steamy Books Lover for devouring all my words and helping spread the Amity Cross love online. Thanks.

In the beginning, I only ever intended to write Blair and West’s story. Honest.

After Unexplainable (#2) came out, I received several emails, Facebook messages and Twitter blasts asking if there was going to be a story about Joe. Apparently the sucker went and stole a few hearts after that scene with Blair in that hotel bar… Because those lovely readers asked nicely, I wrote a story about Joe.

Unintended (the final part of Blair and West’s story) came out a month later and I put in a little taste tester for Undeniable in the back. Readers emailed me again and told me that they thought Joe would run off and fall in love with Affliction’s manager, Sasha. Obviously that didn’t happen, so they asked if I was planning to write a story about her. I wasn’t, but they asked nicely…again…so I wrote another story.

And just to top it off, you just devoured the third companion novella that just gave Rob his happy ending. Just to be fair and let all of Affliction get their angsty angsty rock and roll lovin’ on.

That’s it for Unexpected and Affliction. I swear.

Unless you guys beg for more. That’s the only exception I’ll make because I’ve got tons of other stories in the works.
