"Wow." She smiled. "Meeting the whole family."
"Does that frighten you?"
"Nope. I'd love to."
"You know…I've been giving Mandy's living situation some thought."
"Why. She's getting along great with Tony and Kara."
"Yeah, but I thought it was only temporary?"
"I've talked to Mrs. Lofton, the foster mom in that runaway call I had a while back. She was going to talk to her husband about Mandy."
"You could adopt her."
Gwen laughed. "What are you nuts? I'd make a terrible mother. I would probably screw her up even worse."
"Not from what I just witnessed. You could just be the understanding soul she needs most in her life. Remember what I told you about how God places people in our lives for a purpose?"
Gwen nodded. She'd been thinking a lot about that lately, and how much her life had changed since she met Ian. "I don't know. She would be a handful. Having a man around to help might not be such a bad idea. Do you think you could handle the both of us?"
His hand slipped from hers as he stopped walking. "Did you just propose to me?"
Gwen grinned. "You know I did, that's why you brought up the idea in the first place."
He laughed.
"So, are you up to the challenge?"
Ian wrapped his arms around her, "Most definitely!" then kissed her.
