  She walks out of the restroom and back to Megan. She is sitting at the table still eating.

  “Shit, you are pale! I take it, it said you are pregnant.” Jennifer nods and sits down. “Well, too bad you don't know who the sex god is.” Megan says and passes her soda over.

  Jen takes a sip. “Actually I do. He is my new boss.”

  Megan's eyes widen. “What?!?” she yells.

  “Yeah, I didn't know until I saw him today. I was interviewed by his VP.” Jennifer gives Megan her soda back.

  “Well that is crazy.” she takes a drink and chokes. “Wait, if the VP interviewed you that means he owns the company?”

  Jennifer looks down. “Yeah, he owns the company.” And she is terrified to tell him.

  “Well that is good, at least you know who he is.” Megan doesn't say anything for a minute and that make Jennifer looks at her best friend. She is never quiet, not when it is something this big.

  “What are you thinking about?”

  “What are you doing to do? I mean with a baby? We don’t live in the nicest neighborhood.” Jennifer knows she has to do something about her living arrangements, and about the baby there is only one choice.

  “I will keep my baby with or without Phoenix's help. And I am going to look for a nicer place.” But hates to be away from her mom, one of the few reasons she is living there.

  “I want to be there for you, I love you and your baby.” Jennifer gets tears in her eyes, this is why she loves Megan. No matter what she will always be there. “What are you going to tell Phoenix?” Jennifer looks at her phone and her lunch is running out.

  She stands up and Megan follows her. She orders a sandwich for her boss/baby-daddy. “I will talk to him, I just don’t know when.” She doesn’t think he would fire her, but doesn’t want to test him.

  “Jen, I think the sooner the better. You never know he might be a stand up guy, and take responsibly for getting you pregnant.” Jennifer looks at Megan and smiles. She really hopes he does.

  “I'll talk to him after work. I have to go.”

  Megan shakes her head. “I'll walk you in.”

  “Meg it's right across the street.” Megan smiles.

  “I know, I want to see your baby-daddy again!” A couple of people turn and to look at them.

  “Shh, keep it down.” Jennifer says as they walk out.

  “Sorry, it's just crazy. You have sex one time and you get pregnant by the hottest guy I have seen.” She is right, Phoenix is the hottest guy she has seen. “I have a new nickname for him, sex god.”

  Jennifer laughs. “Please don’t call him that!”

  Megan smiles, “Why he was, wasn’t he?”

  She blushes remembering his touch and his wonderful mouth. “Yeah.”

  “You know I hate you, I need a sex god. Wanna share?” Megan grins.

  “Nope, you have to find your own.” They walk into the elevator and Jennifer pushes the button.

  “Are you nervous?” Megan grabs Jennifer’s hand.

  “I am pass nervous.” She squeezes her best friends hand. “I have no clue what I’m going to tell my dad.”

  “We'll figure it out.” Megan lets go of her hand and they walk out.

  Jennifer walks to her desk to put her purse down and Phoenix is waiting at her desk. “I have your sandwich Mr. DuPont.” He looks down at it, and then looks at Megan.

  “Thank you. We need to talk.” she can feel her heart speed up. She wonders if he already knows.

  “Hello Phoenix. We met before, you know that night you took my best friends virginity.” Megan give her best smile and Jennifer starts choking on her spit.

  She starts coughing, and Megan pounds on her back. Jennifer glances her boss and he doesn't look too happy.

  “I'll see you later Megan.” Jennifer says and glares at her.

  “Love ya!” Megan kisses Jennifer’s cheek and then pulls her into a hug. “Call me if you need me.” She whispers in her ear.

  “Okay.” Jennifer says and Megan smiles and waves to Phoenix.

  “In my office.” Phoenix says in a low tone, and walks to his office.

  She places her hand on her stomach and mumbles, “Nothing will ever harm you. I love you, my little swimmy.” Jennifer lets her hands fall to her sides, and walks into her boss's office.

  “Shut the door.” she does, but remains at the door. “Jennifer sit.” She stares at him and he looks angry. She slowly walks to the chair and sits across from him. “I need to ask you something, and I want you to be truthful with me.” She can feel her heart racing again, but she nods. “Are you pregnant? I saw you throwing up, and I can sense something different with you.”

  Her heart drops, he knows. Jennifer can feel the color drain from her face. “Yes.” she manages to whisper.

  “Shit, I thought so. We need to take care of it.” he says and pulls out his checkbook.

  Her eyes widen. “No!” She jumps out of her chair, and Phoenix's head snaps up. “I don't want to take care of it. I am keeping this baby, and I don't need you. I will manage on my own.” Her head feels light so he holds onto the chair for support.

  “Jennifer I don’t think that is wise.” he says and stares at her. Then he looks down at her abdomen.

  Now she is getting mad. “I don't care what you think is wise. This is my baby, and it is my body.” Her heart feels like it might explode.

  “There is something you should know about our baby.” He stands up and walks over to her. “There is something you need to know about me.” His large hand covers her abdomen, she looks down at it. His other hand cradles her face, and she looks back up at him. “I am an incubus.”

  “What?” She is stunned, does he think she is that gullible?

  “I am an incubus, I seduce women to have sex with me and I can enter dreams if I want. I feed off of the sexual energy during sex. Our baby is either another incubus or a succubus.” She moves away from him. She is carrying a demon spawn.

  “Do you expect me to believe you?” She says and puts her hands on her hips.

  “Tell me, have you been having very detailed dreams about us?” She has every night and she blushes. “I'll take that as a yes, that was my power reaching out to you.” He frowns. “I don't know why it's so drawn to you.” He walks to her again and smiles. “Even now, I want to take you into my arms and do nasty things to you. I want to see your blush cover your entire body.”

  “You're really an incubus.” He nods. “What will happen to our baby?”

  Phoenix looks down and touches her abdomen again. “Are you sure you want to keep a demon spawn?” She gasps, and wonders if he read her mind.

  “I want to keep it no matter what. It's mine.” She moves his hand and places her hands protectively over her abdomen.

  “Then there are things you need to know. Our child will need me. I will have to show it how to feed without killing. But we don't have to worry about that until it is a teenager.” Her heart jumps when he says, 'our child.'

  “Our child?” She asks and looks up into his midnight blue eyes.

  A slow smile appears on his beautiful face. “Yes, ours.” She searches his eyes and what she sees shocks her. He truly cares. There is a loud knock at the door and it make her jump. “We'll talk later.” He kisses her forehead, and electricity runs through her body. She looks up to see if he felt it and he smiles.

  “I'll be at my desk.” She walks to the door and opens it to find a beautiful red head with piercing dark-green eyes.

  “You must be the new temp.” She says, and smiles.

  Jennifer shakes her head. “No ma'am, I’m not a temp.”

  The red head smiles. “We'll see.” She looks pass Jennifer to Phoenix and her face lights up. “Hello Phoenix.” She purrs and Jennifer feels like she is going to throw up.

  “Hello Melissa.” She bumps into Jennifer’s shoulder as she passes and she looks over her shoulder to watch Phoenix glaring at Melissa. “Ms. Cruz please close the door behind you.” She nods and cat
ches Melissa smug look on her face.

  She closes the door and walks to her desk. She has no claim on Phoenix, so why is she feeling so jealous?

  Phoenix knows that Melissa has a thing for him, and he has thought about feeding on her.

  “Melissa what can I do for you?” She is in charged of his marketing department.

  “Just wanted to give you the ads that we will be running.” She hands him a large folder and he opens it up. The ad is what he told her he wanted.

  “Great.” He looks up at her and she is smiling at him.

  “So how about we go out for a few drinks?” Melissa says and tucks her red hair behind her ears.

  If she wasn't working for him he might have had sex with her, but nothing more. “I already have plans for tonight.” He needs to call Max, and get him to check on Jennifer.

  She looks disappointed as she nods. “Of course you are.”

  He pulls out his phone to text Max.

  Jennifer works for me, and she is pregnant.

  WHAT? Max responds right away. They know that if either of them are with the same woman more than once they start to drain them.

  I need you to meet me at my house. I want you to check her.

  Yeah you know I have your back.

  Thanks Max.

  He looks back at Melissa, and smiles. “I'm sorry about that, let's go over the marketing plan.” He says and motions for her to sit.

  Chapter Four

  Jennifer looks at the time and it is almost time to leave. Melissa has been in Phoenix's office for four hours. She wants to barge in there and tell Melissa to leave him alone, that he is hers. She reaches for her purse, and gather her things. She isn't going to wait for him, she is tired and doesn’t feel good. She stands up and starts to walk away until she hears a door open and a woman’s laughter.

  “Phoenix, you must let me take you to dinner.” Jennifer wants to run out of the office and go home. But she can feel Phoenix's eyes on her back. She turns around and smiles at Phoenix and Melissa.

  “I won't have time for that. But thank you.” Melissa takes a card and puts it in his shirt pocket.

  “Here is my number if you change your mind.” She pats his chest and he smiles. Jennifer wants to rip her arm off.

  “Thank you Melissa.”

  “See you later.” Melissa turns around and her smile falls when she sees Jennifer waiting. She just glares at Jennifer as she walks by, but this time she doesn't bump into her.

  “Does she know that you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar.” He laughs and it wraps around her. “How do you do that?”

  His smile falls. “Sorry it's part of my charm. I can pull any woman in.” She puts her hands on her hips.

  “Did you do that to me?” He looks down and she is getting angry.

  “A little.” He looks back up at her, and she narrows her eyes.

  “I'm going home.” She turns around and starts to walk away.

  She is stopped by a hand holding onto her shoulder. “Wait, we need to talk. Plus I have a special doctor coming to my place to look at you.”

  She glances over her shoulder at him. “What a witch doctor?” She sees his smile and it warms her. “Stop that!”

  “Sorry, I will tone it down. And the doctor is a demon, not a witch.” She can't help herself from laughing. “And I would like it if you ride with me.”

  “What about my car?”

  “I can send someone to bring it to my house.” Phoenix walks in front of her and grabs her hand.

  This shocks her. He told her that he keeps his personal life personal. She tries to take her hand back, there are some people left in the office and they are staring at them. “I thought you keep your personal life personal.”

  He squeezes her hand. “That has changed, you are important to me.”

  They walk in the elevator hand in hand. “You don't know me enough for me to be important to you.” She says and looks down.

  “You are the most important thing in my life. You are carrying my unborn child.” That is true but she wants more. She wants his heart, and she has a feeling he isn’t going to give it up willingly. They walk out of the elevated and in the parking garage.

  “Let me call Megan.” She says knowing that her will worry.

  “Fine, but I don't like her.” She smiles, Megan has the effect on everyone.

  She grabs her phone and calls her best friend. It goes to her voicemail right away. “Hey Megs, I’m going home with Phoenix. I'll let you know later what our plans are. Bye love you.” She looks at her phone and frowns. Megan always answers her phone.

  “Everything alright?” Phoenix asks and stands next to a yellow BMW.

  Jennifer nods. “I think so, lets go.” He opens the car door for her and she gets in.

  He starts the car and pulls out of the parking garage. “Tell me about your family.” he says and she can see a smile on his perfect face.

  “My dad owns a sports team, and my real mom died with I was a baby. He remarried an awesome woman, Cameo. She became my mother, even when she didn't need to. She showed me how to be a girl. Now my dad is now with a twenty something year old, and my mom is living about ten minutes from my apartment.”

  “Is that why you live in that neighborhood?” he asks. She knows she could live anywhere and her dad offered to buy her a brand new house. She doesn't want hand outs, that is why she took the PA job.

  “I like to be close to her. I know she will always be there for me. My dad is too busy with his new young wife to care.” It hurts more for her to admit that then she thought it would.

  “Well you can add me to that list now. I am here for you and our baby. No matter what.” She smiles at him and prays he is telling the truth. “I'm telling you the truth darling. My kind don’t normally leave our young, and I’m not going to start.”

  “Good, I don’t want to be a single mother.” She would have if she needed to.

  “Darling you are stuck with me.” He glances at her and grins.

  “Tell me about you.” She wants to know all about this handsome man.

  “That is a long story, and we are almost home.” Her heart beats faster when he said we are almost home. “Will you move in with me?”

  Jennifer has to shake her head to make sure she heard him correctly. “We don’t know each other.”

  “I know, and we will get to know each other. I want my baby to live with me.” He doesn't mention her, just his baby.

  “No, we work on getting to know each other. Then we talk about me moving in with you.”

  He pulls into his large gate. “Your apartment was broken into not long ago.”

  She looks at him and glares. “I was planning on finding a new place. You know I have this new job now that pays pretty well.” He looks at her as he parks his car.

  “Okay, we'll work something out.” Another car pulls in behind his and he gets out. She opens the door before he can. He is standing in front of her. “That is the doctor.”

  “The demon doctor.” he smiles, and she lifts an eyebrow.

  “Yes darling, the demon doctor.” He reaches for her hand and she smacks it away.

  “I don’t want you to touch me, not now.” A low chuckle grabs her attention, she looks behind Phoenix and a young man is standing there. He has black hair and green eyes. He is slightly tan, and just as handsome as Phoenix. She narrows her eyes. “Incubus?” She asks.

  He smiles. “I am, you know most normal humans can't tell what I am.” He moves pass Phoenix, and touches her face. “What are you Jennifer Cruz, because you aren’t completely human.”

  She narrows her eyes. “I don’t know what you are talking about.”

  Phoenix takes his friends hand away from her face. “Don’t touch her, unless you want to lose your hand. Then what kind of doctor will you be.” Phoenix growls.

  “Okay, okay. Let's go inside.” She watches him walk back to his car and grabs a large bag.

  Phoenix leans down and whispers, “We will
speak later. And please don't flirt with Max” He takes her hand and she bites her lip. He is jealous and she is loving it. She glances at the doctor and he winks at her.

  Jennifer giggles as they walk into Phoenix's house. “So what are you gonna do?” She asks Max.

  “When an incubus impregnates a woman we can see faster with an ultrasound. Normal pregnancy are slower than if you are pregnant with an incubus or a succubus.” He pulls out a tablet and a thing that looks like a wand. “Normally I would do an ultrasound until you were sixteen weeks or so. When did you two have sex?” Jennifer blushes and looks down. She knows exactly how long it’s been.

  “About ten weeks.” Phoenix is the one to answer, and she looks at him.

  “Good, then we should be able to see what you are having. Phoenix, Jennifer should be laying down. Can we go to a bedroom?”

  Phoenix nods, “Yeah we'll go to mine.” He grabs her hand and walk up the stairs.

  Walking into the same room that has been in many of her dream is a little surreal. “Jennifer it would be best if you remove your skirt or if you can unzip it so I can get to your lower abdomen.”

  She walks over to the bed and unzips her skirt, she pulls it to her waist and lays down. She glances at Phoenix, he is standing about ten feet away. “Will I get to see my baby?” She turns her head when she feels Max sitting down.

  He smiles, “Yes on this.” He holds up the tablet, and then waves the wand. “I will roll this around on your abdomen. I will add a little lubrication, so I can move it around.” He pulls a little bottle out of his shirt pocket. “Are you ready sweetheart?” She nods and pulls up her shirt to the edge of her bra. “This might be a little cold.” She feels a cool liquid on her abdomen. He starts pressing the wand against her, and he is looking at the tablet. “Well that is different.” Max says and Jennifer looks at him.

  “What?” Her voice is shaking when she asks.

  “You are having twins, a boy and girl.” Max smiles down at her and turns the tablet so she can see. She sees a black and white image. “Baby girl.” She smiles, that is her baby. He moves the wand. “And baby boy.”
