“But aren't twins very uncommon?” She hears Phoenix ask.
“They are, that is why you can't be hundred percent human.” He looks over at Phoenix.
“How can we find out what I am?” He takes a towel and wipes away the lubrication.
“I can do a blood test. I need to take some of your blood anyways.” She hates needles, and hates her blood drawn.
“Okay.”
“Let me see your arm.” She puts her arm up. “Okay I need you to sit up. Phoenix get over here and help.” Phoenix kneels on the bed and crawls over to them. “Take her other hand.”
“Can I see the babies?” Phoenix asks as he takes her hand.
“Sure, let me get the blood first.” Max says and Phoenix nods.
“Can you believe it, twins!” He smiles down at Jennifer and she smiles up. Most guys would have freaked about getting a girl pregnant and especially pregnant with twins. But not Phoenix, he seems happy. She feels a sharp poke, on her left arm and she turns to see. Max is taking her blood, and it looks weird. There is a tube in her skin and dripping into little vials. She can feel her heart speed up. “Darling look at me.” Phoenix sweet voice draws her attention. She can feel a calming sensation take over her body and she knows he is doing it and she doesn’t care.
“There done, now Jennifer I’m going to put that stuff back on you. Lay back again.” She does, doesn't let go of Phoenix's hand. Max brings out the bottle again and puts it on her abdomen. He moves the wand around and smiles. “Here Phoenix, look at your babies.” He hands Phoenix the tablet, he takes it with his free hand.
Jennifer watches his face, she watches his eyes fill with tears. “Which one is this?” He doesn't look away from the tablet.
“That one is the girl.” A smile forms on Phoenix's face. Max moves the wand to where she knows the baby boy is at. “And here is the boy.” Tears start to roll down his face.
“This is amazing.” He whispers, and squeezes her hand.
“I'm going to run some test on your blood, and I hope to know what you are before the morning.” He moves the wand off, and wipes her off again. “Jennifer I don't know if you have a regular OB, but I would like to be yours. You need me to make sure you stay alive. The babies will feed of you and your energy. Make sure you eat a lot.” He put his things away and she sets up. He hands her a card. “I can come here or anywhere that works for you. I also have an office. All of my information is on that card.” He takes her hand and kisses it. “It was nice to meet you. And I will call Phoenix when I know.”
Phoenix's hand tightens on hers. “I will walk you out.”
“No, I know my way. Enjoy your happy news.” He winks at them and walks to the door. He shuts it behind him when he walks out.
“My mom is going to flip.” Jennifer says and places her free hand on her abdomen.
“Yeah, well there is still time for you to change your mind.” She tries to take her hand back, but he doesn't let her. “Don’t get mad, I just want to make sure you are still on board.”
“I told you before these babies are mine, and I will keep them no matter what. I don't care what my family thinks. My mom will be happy I think.” She won't be too happy that Jennifer isn't married, but there isn’t much she can do about that. “What about your family?”
“My father isn’t around, and my mother hates me. She said if she known what my father was she wouldn't have had me.” Jennifer gasps, placing a hand to her throat.
“I'm sorry Phoenix. That's a horrible thing to tell your own child.” Her heart breaks for him.
“I don't want you to be sorry.” His face softens and he brings her hand to his lips. “What do you want to eat? Steak, ribs, or burgers?”
“How about pizza with extra cheese?” She hasn't eaten anything all day and that sounds amazing.
“Really? I could get you anything you want and you want pizza.”
“Yeah with extra cheese and extra pepperonis.” She smiles at him and he shakes his head.
“If that is what you want, then I will get it for you.” She smiles at him.
“Phoenix, what are we to each other?” He closes his eyes.
“Darling, I’m not good at relationships.” Her last boyfriend cheated on her.
“I've only had one boyfriend, and slept with a guy that wasn’t mine.”
“I think we should just stay friends for now.” Great, now she is getting the friends speech. She knows he feels something for her, he got jealous over Max touching her.
“Friends?” Her voice cracks a little and she wants to kick herself.
“Darling—” She cuts him off.
“No it's fine. But I want to go home now please.” She looks down, she doesn’t want to show him that he hurt her.
“If that is what you want.” It isn’t, but she needs too. She moves to the edge of the bed, and he is there.
“How do you do that?” She doesn't look at him when she asks.
“It's part of my power.” He helps her up, and when she pulls away he holds on. “Darling, I don't want you to leave. I want to try to be an us. But I need you to promise me something.” She looks up at him and he smiles. “Work with me. I am high maintenance and get jealous very easily.”
“You jealous? No!” She laughs and me glares at her.
“I mean it, I am crazy jealous.” He says.
“So am I.” She says thinking about Melissa.
“So we are both jealous.” He says and puts his large hands on her hips and moves closer to her. “What are we going to do about that?” He looks down at her and she looks away. She knows she is blushing. He lifts her chin so she is looking at him. “I want to see you when I make you blush. You are mine now, every piece of you.” His lips crash to hers, and it takes her breath away. She wants to wrap herself around him and not let go.
She pulls her lips away from his and he groans. “Are you using your incubus magic on me?” She sounds breathless.

He closes his eyes for what seems like forever. When he opens them, she doesn't feel a physical pull to him. But she still wants him just as bad. “Better?” He asks.
“No you are wearing to many clothes.” she says as she is unbuttoning her shirt, the skirt is already unzipped. He is pinning her to the bed within seconds.
“You are teasing me, and I don’t know how much I can take.” She is thankful she is wearing her bra that clips in the front. She presses it and take off her bra. His hot mouth latches on her left breast first.

“By the door, sit down and I will get it for you.” He softly pushes her back on the bed. She looks down at herself and remembers she is completely naked. She feels like she need to cover up, but she doesn't know where her clothes are. She looks around and sees her bra and shirt across the room. Her skirt is by the door, and she doesn't see her panties.
Phoenix hands Jennifer her purse. “Thanks.” She smiles up at him. She grabs her phone and sees her mother's missed call.
She presses the call button and it only rings once. “Jenny, when were you going to tell me.”
Her heart nearly stops. “What?” Is the only thing she can think of.
“You're pregnant!” Her best friend and trader must have told her.
“Mom, I was going to tell you. But—”
“I should have known right after you took the test.” Jennifer glances up and Phoenix is gathering her clothes.
“I'm sorry, but I can tell you something no one else knows. Well besides Phoenix.”
“Phoenix? His name sounds like a porn star's.” Jennifer’s mouth drops open.
“Mom!” She yells.
“Sorry, but it's true. So tell me this news.” Jennifer sighs, and Phoenix bends down. He places one hand on her bare knee.
“I'm having twins, a boy and a girl.” There is a loud crashing sound. “Mom?”
“Sorry I dropped the phone. I need to see you and this porn star Phoenix.” Jennifer looks up at him and he is staring at her.
“I don't think—”
“Jennifer Elizabeth Cruz, I do not care what you think. I want you and Phoenix to meet me at your apartment. Do you understand me?”
“Yes I understand.” Jennifer looks down at naked body and blushes.
“Now get dress, and I will see you soon.”
“What?” Jennifer can feel her heart race.
“Sweetie, you have sex in your voice. Good bye Jenny.” She says sweetly.
“Bye mom.” She stares at her phone. “My mom wants to meet us at my place.” She says and grabs her bra.
Phoenix gives her his heart-stopping smile and stands up. “I am great with women, but not so much with mothers.” She remembers what he told her about his own mother.
She grabs her shirt and skirt and put them on. “You don't have to meet my mom if you don't want to.” He runs his fingers through his hair.
“Your close with her, so I need to meet her.” Jennifer stands up, and walks over to him.
“She is going to ask if we are together.” He touches her face, but doesn't smile.
“Darling I will try for you and our babies.” His other hand touches her stomach and she puts her hand on top of his.
“Then lets go.” He smiles and kisses her nose.
Chapter Five
Jennifer and Phoenix pull into her apartment complex twenty minutes later. And she is so nervous. The only mother she has really ever known is about to go off on her and Phoenix. Jennifer has already decided not to tell her mom about him, she knows she will freak out more.
Phoenix parks and turns off the car. “Darling I can taste your fear. It can't be that bad, your mother loves you.” She knows that, she isn't nervous about that. She is worried about what her mother is going to say to Phoenix.
“Just don’t take anything personal. She is going to be mad and blame you mostly.” Phoenix reaches and takes her hand. She lifts her eyes to look at him. His stunning midnight blue eyes at smiling at her.
“Darling, I can take whatever she wants to blame on me. I am the incubus.” He lifts her hand to his lips and lays a warm kiss on her knuckles.
Jennifer can feel her heart opening for him, and wants to kick herself. She takes her hand back, and he studies her. “Let's go inside before she comes out here.” She opens her own door before he could even get out. She starts walking and he wraps
his arm around her shoulders.
“You know I can kind of feel what you're feeling. And I don't quite understand it. Being an incubus I can tell emotions, and yours are confusing me. You're mad, and not. But there is something else, and I have never felt it before.” He stops her and she can feel her heart racing. She finds it hard to believe no one has ever loved him before. “Please tell me.” He stops her and looks into her eyes.
She shakes her head. “Not now, we'll talk later.” He takes her face in his large hands.
“Fine, right now we will talk to your mother.” She smiles, and he returns it.
They start walking and he puts his arm around her shoulders again. Jennifer looks up and sees two women walking towards them. Their eyes are on Phoenix and she looks at him. He smiles and nods at them. They giggle, and she smiles. That is affect he has on women. They stop and watch Phoenix and Jennifer walk by. With his amazing good looks and the power rolling off of him. He can get any women he wants, and he is going to try to be with her.
“Lucky bitch.” one of the girls say. It makes Jennifer smile.
They walk up to her door, and she put her key in. When she opens the door her mother and Megan are both sitting on the couch. Jennifer glares at her best friend and mouths trader. Megan looks at Jennifer's mother and makes a face. She looks at her mom, and of course she is gazing at Phoenix.
Jennifer turns her attention to Phoenix and he is looking at her. He smiles, and she wants to leap into his arms. “Phoenix this is my mom, Cameo. Mom this is Phoenix.” Before Phoenix moves away from her he kisses the top of her head. She looks at Megan and her eyes are wide.
He walks over to her mother and take her hand. “It's nice to meet you, Cameo.” He gently kisses her hand, and she giggles. Jennifer has never heard her giggle.
“It's really nice to meet you.” She says and smiles at Jennifer. “You know how to pick them sweetie.” Jennifer blushes.
“Okay I need to go throw up now.” Megan says and stands up. “I will be in my room with my headphones on.” She walks to her bedroom, and shuts the door. Phoenix walks back to Jennifer and winks.
