Game Up

“No, it’s fine, I don’t care.” Asha laughed. “Just a little bizarre.”
“Extremely bizarre. Never thought I’d have a conversation with Lorenz about that, but...here we are.”
Asha’s eyes widened. “They don’t have...they used...really?”
Lara grinned. “No, Alexa was actually trying to think of a way to convince Vianne, but I think that’s a lost cause.”
“Okay. I’m going to forget this conversation ever happened.”
Lara kissed her hard on the lips, running her fingers up her sides lightly.
Asha squirmed and sighed. “Ticklish.”
“I know.” Lara tilted her mouth close to her ear. “Let me fuck you?”
Asha stopped breathing. She nodded dumbly.
Lara chuckled at the effect her words had on her. It wasn’t often that she could stun her girl into silence.
She pushed Asha down onto the bed and crawled on top. She kissed her deeply, her hand gliding up her thigh. Lara teased her relentlessly until Asha couldn’t take much more.
“Lara. Please.”
“You ready?”
Asha nodded and watched her girlfriend cross the room, wide-eyed.
***
LARA looked down as she walked back towards the bed. “I feel ridiculous,” she laughed, swiveling her hips.
They both cracked up. “No, you look fabulous darling. Hot pink is definitely your color,” Asha said with a wink.
Lara grinned back. “Whatever you say.”
She grabbed her legs, pulling Asha sharply towards her. They shifted until they found a comfortable angle.
Lara eased in slowly, allowing both of them to get used to the feeling, the motions.
“You’re okay?”
“Yeah.”
“I don’t want to hurt you.”
“I’m good.”
“This is a little weird. I can’t really feel what I’m doing to you.”
“It feels really good. You’re doing good.”
***
ASHA’S chest rose and fell quickly as her breaths grew shallow. Lara slowly picked up the pace, finding a rhythm.
“Lara, touch me.” Asha’s eyes seared into Lara’s. The intensity made her gasp a little.
Lara’s hands roamed, gliding and raking across skin. Touching everywhere, but where Asha needed most.
Asha groaned in frustration, finally reaching down herself. Lara let her eyes wander over every inch of Asha’s body, drinking in the sight. After a few minutes, she grabbed her wrist and slowly guided it away.
Asha flung one arm over her face, and tried her best to keep it together.
She gripped the sheets with white knuckles when Lara finally made contact.
***
ASHA nodded after a bit and gave a thumbs up, her breath leaving her in short gasps. “More.”
“You want to try...um...”
Asha smirked. “Try what? Tell me.” Lara's bouts of shyness sometimes came out of nowhere and they always amused her.
“Flip over.”
Lara quickly discovered this new position gave her a lot more leverage to thrust harder and deeper.
“Oh god, Ash...fuck. Ash...Lara, that’s so good,” Asha growled.
Her words startled her out of her groove. Holy shit.
Lara stuttered for a half second, it took everything she had to keep the rhythm.
Asha glanced back, feeling the slight break. “Okay?”
“God. Sometimes you’re too damn hot.”
Asha’s smirk was quickly wiped away when Lara tried circling her hips. “Fuck.”
***
LARA soon realized that this new angle was hitting Asha perfectly. She bucked wildly, clearly torn between pressing back into Lara’s hips or pressing down into her hand.
But Lara wasn’t ready for this to be over. She grabbed Asha’s hips, and slowed. “Roll back over.”
Asha obeyed reluctantly. She whimpered in protest at the teasing pace Lara was keeping. “Alexa, c’mon.”
Lara placed a calming hand on Asha’s stomach. Her splayed fingers pushed her into the bed, forcing her to relax.
“I know, baby. Not yet.”
Asha bit her lip and took in a deep shuddering breath.
She ran both hands down Asha’s arms, until their fingers intertwined. She slowly raised them, before pinning them firmly above Asha’s head. She kissed her deeply and pressed the full weight of her body into Asha.
Every inch of her was aching for more contact, more skin, more of Asha. She wanted to stretch out this moment, make it last forever. Feel her muscles tense and release beneath her, the slickness of the light sheen of sweat. Feel the slight resistance as Asha half-heartedly tried to free her hands. Taste her soft lips, the hint of salt on her neck, her arms.
“Not yet,” Lara whispered into a kiss.
Asha pretended to pout. “Puh-lease?”
Lara giggled, “Nope, this is too much fun.”
Lara settled into a deep, almost languid pace. “You’re killing me,” Asha sighed.
“I know. You’ll forgive me after.”
***
THEY readjusted so Asha straddled Lara. Asha threw her head back, and screwed her eyes shut.
Lara could tell she was close by the tension in her face and body, the small whimpers that escaped her mouth. Lara’s arm burned and her wrist was cramping from the awkward angle but she ignored it all, upping to a frenetic pace. She gripped Asha’s hip tightly, hard enough to imprint bruises the shape of fingertips.
“Look at me,” Lara ordered. Their eyes locked, Asha’s were clouded, dazed, and dark, she looked completely out of it. Asha couldn’t hold the gaze for long. Her eyes squeezed shut again as she teetered on the brink.
When she jolted forward and collapsed, Lara’s name fell from her lips.
They lay next to each other, both panting from exertion.
Lara waited patiently for Asha to recover before she kissed her.
Asha grinned wildly. “That was pretty friggin’ awesome.”
***
THEY rocked together desperately. Asha found her pulse point and smothered it with her mouth. Her arm that propped her over Lara started to tremble; she dropped to her elbow and nuzzled into Lara’s neck.
One of Lara’s hands scrambled for purchase, finally clawing into her back. It felt like every nerve ending was tingling, it was dizzying and overwhelming. She put all of her focus on the movements of their bodies, their hips, their hands. Perfectly matched, born out of knowing every inch of each other bodies as if it was their own.
Lara felt herself climb higher and higher. Her body swelled, filling up all the empty space in the room. A dark fog settled in and her vision blurred, as she hovered there on the tip for an endless moment.
They came within seconds of each other, Asha biting down hard on her collarbone, Lara arching back sharply into the bed with a muffled scream.
Asha fell on top, a comforting weight, as they caught their breath. After a minute, she rolled off and pulled Lara onto her.
They lay there for a while, Lara’s head pressed into her chest, listening to her strong heartbeat gradually slow. Asha wrapped her arms around her, holding her close, relishing the feeling of her warm, sweaty skin pressed against hers.
“You know you were speaking German?”
Lara pushed up and blushed. “Oh my god. I’m so sorry. I didn’t even realize!” she said, embarrassed.
“No, don’t apologize! It was pretty awesome. I like knowing that I can get you that far gone.”
She tilted up to give Lara a tender kiss. “You’re the best thing I’ve done with my life.”
Tears came to Lara’s eyes. She started to speak but immediately choked up with emotion. She buried her face into Asha and cried.
Asha held her tightly and stroked her back until she calmed down.
“I’m sorry. I’m not sad, those were happy tears.”
“I know,” Asha reassured softly.

Sometimes I can’t believe this is happening. How did I get so lucky? What did I ever do to have the universe bless me with you?”
Asha rolled her off so they were both on their sides, facing each other. She kissed away the remnants of her tears. “You’re you. You’re amazing. That’s what you did.”
“I was such an idiot.”
Asha could tell Lara was about to lose it again.
“Hey,” she said firmly. “We both did stupid things, but that doesn’t matter now.”
“Still...”
Asha placed a finger on Lara’s lips, shushing her. “This made us stronger. Would we even have made it here without all that happening? I don’t know. We’ll never know, babe. We can spend all of our time wondering what if, but then we get so caught up in the past, we miss what’s in front of us. We don’t have time for regrets.”
Lara smiled. “When did you get so wise Miss Lorenz?”
“I mean...I was living with three geniuses for a few months.”
***
THEY reached a point of utter exhaustion.
“I need food. Water.”
They lay tangled together, trying to regain the energy to move.
“Okay, here’s the plan. I’ll go put in the pizza.”
“...What’s the rest of the plan?”
“That’s it. That’s the plan”
“Not much of a plan.”
“Hey, right now I think it’s pretty ambitious.”
***
“YOU want a beer?”
“Yeah, babe.”
Lara brought out two bottles and joined Asha on the couch. Asha groaned as she shifted positions. “I never realized I could get so sore from something other than training.”
“Well, think about it. The past week we’ve pretty much only stopped to eat, sleep, and shower. And even in the shower we have sex.”
“Yeah, we do!” crowed Asha. She held up a hand for a high five.
Lara ignored her. “I wish you didn’t have to go back to the states. And then there’s the Olympics. Sometimes it feels like we’ll never get to just be. It’s always something. And it sucks you’ll be living two hours away.”
“Are you kidding? I can’t believe I get to live only two hours away from you!” Asha replied in an overly optimistic voice.
Lara laughed weakly.
Asha finished off her beer and crawled on top of her. “It does suck, but really what’s two hours? That’s nothing. And there’s always going to be something, but it’s okay. We’ll get through it. We’re strong enough, you know? A couple more months, that’s it. And then I’ll be here freezing my ass off for you.”
“It doesn’t get that cold.”
“Bullshit. It snows here, I might just have to quit soccer, I won’t be able to leave the house. You’re just gonna have to visit me all the time. Buy me food, run my errands.”
Lara laughed at her as Asha ran with the joke.
***
THEY cuddled on the couch, lazy and full.
“This is perfect,” Lara whispered.
“You’re perfect.” Asha kissed her head.
“Tell me a story,” she mumbled sleepily.
“About what?”
“I don’t care. I just want to fall asleep to your voice.”
Asha smiled and her heart swelled. Yeah, this was pretty perfect.
“Do you remember the first time we met?”
Lara snuggled deeper into Asha. “My favorite story.”
Chapter 20
RHIAN walked into their brand new living room, in their brand new house, and just stood there – hands on hips, soaking it all in. Boxes were stacked all around, and she was absolutely exhausted from moving in that morning, but none of that mattered in this moment. Because she had a house. A rented house, yes, and with Vianne and Alexa, but it still made her feel very grown up.
She started digging through the boxes, looking for the kitchen stuff. She was going to make dinner in her brand new kitchen in her brand new house. If she could only find the kitchen box.
“Vianne, do you...” Rhian stopped abruptly. “Alexa, why are you...”
She looked around the room in bewilderment. Yep, this was definitely Vianne’s room. She hadn’t unpacked much, but the surfboard leaning against one wall and the longboard propped against the dresser was enough confirmation. She wasn’t losing her mind.
She turned back to Alexa, who had the bed sheets pulled up to her neck.
“Alexa...why is your face so red?”
“...”
Rhian caught sight of a lump in the sheets, towards the bottom of the bed.
“Is that...” Everything started to click. “Alexa, where exactly is Vianne?”
“Vianne?” Alexa squeaked. “I don’t know where she is?”
“Okay.” She drew it out slowly. “If Vianne isn’t under the sheets, then my next question is why are you having sex with someone in her bed.”
“I’m not...I...what?” Alexa stammered.
“Vianne Royce. Get up here,” Rhian demanded.
A muffled voiced drifted from the bed.
Rhian couldn’t make out the words. She looked questioningly at Alexa.
“She said she doesn’t have any clothes on,” Alexa mumbled, as her face turned the deepest red that Rhian had ever seen.
“Oh.” Rhian, for once, was at a loss for words.
Not for long though.
“How long have you two been fucking?”
“Rhian, get the fuck out! We’re naked!”
“So? I’ve seen you both naked before. Plenty of times.” She waggled her eyebrows. “Just not together. In the same bed. Doing the dirty.”
“Make her stop,” Vianne pleaded, still hidden under the safety of the blankets.
“Maybe you should lock the door.”
“Maybe you should knock!”
“Maybe you should share important information with your best friend!”
“Why are you home? I thought you were going out to check out the beach.”
“I did. I was there for two hours. And I came back. Jesus, how long do you guys last? And don’t try to change the subject.”
“Rhian, please, please, please go. I promise we’ll talk about this later.”
“Fine. I was going to start dinner, so if either of you know where the kitchen stuff is?”
“It should be by the TV. I think the box says clothes.”
“...”
“I don’t know why it says clothes, it just does. Just go, please?”
“Alright, alright. You two can...finish.” Rhian waved a hand and wrinkled her nose.
“We’ll be out in a minute," Vianne promised. She yelped. “Ow, Lex, what was that for?”
“We’ll be out in...twenty minutes,” Alexa corrected.
“Gross.”
***
ALEXA and Vianne finally emerged from the room, and took a seat at the table.
Rhian was quiet, simply handing them their plates.
She waited until Vianne was drinking to pounce.
“I also made dessert. I hope you’ll still be hungry, Vi. I know you’ve already eaten.”
Vianne choked. Alexa pounded her on her back, and glared at Rhian.
Rhian pointed her fork at both of them. “As an unwilling witness to this debauchery, I’m declaring the right to make as many jokes as I want.” She waited until Vianne finished her coughing fit. “So, how long has this been going on?”
“A couple months,” Vianne mumbled.
Rhian did the math quickly. “During the World Cup?”
They shared a look. It was loaded.
“First of all, ew. Don’t start reminiscing. Second, that’s why no one could find you after Brazil!” Rhian crowed triumphantly.
Her grin faded a little. “This is weird.”
“Nothing’s going to change,” Vianne assured.
“Whatever. Of course things are going to change.”
“It won’t.”
“It will. But
...I’m happy for you guys. Really.”
Rhian finally changed the subject to surfing, and Vianne positively lit up. Alexa wasn’t too thrilled though. She always felt left out when the talk turned to this.
Rhian tried to ignore the hand that landed on Vianne’s leg.
But she couldn’t ignore it when Vianne started to squirm and blush. Alexa’s hand slipped up too far. Vianne jolted upright. Her jaw tensed. She white knuckled the table.
Alexa’s hand continued its journey. Rhian just looked at Alexa with a raised eyebrow.
“Really? At the dinner table?”
Alexa froze and yanked her hand back. At least she had the decency to look properly ashamed.
***
“SO, what does this mean?” Rhian questioned.
Vianne looked up from her surf board. She shrugged and tossed over the wax.
“I mean, where is this going?”
“I like her a lot.”
“No shit. I kinda figured that when your face was buried between her legs.”
Vianne ignored her. “We’re just running with it. See where this takes us.”
Vianne didn’t catch what Rhian mumbled, but she was pretty sure that was for the best.
“I think I might love her,” Vianne confessed.
Rhian jerked her head up. “Seriously?”
“I think.”
Rhian contemplated this new information. “I think she might love you too.”
Vianne hid her grin into her shoulder.
***
RHIAN walked in on them again a few weeks later. This time was more graphic. A lot more nakedness, a lot more of Vianne.
“Holy fuck!” In her haste to turn away, she slammed her face on the edge of the door, and fell to the ground cursing in pain.
Vianne squealed and basically shoved Alexa off of her to scramble for the sheets.
“I was so fucking close, Rhian. I’m going to kill you!” Alexa seethed.
Rhian just whimpered.
Vianne smacked Alexa on the arm. “Dude. I think she’s hurt.”
“She should knock,” Alexa muttered, but with a little more concern.
“You should lock the door,” Rhian muttered back darkly.
“Don’t look.” Vianne reached for her clothes.
Alexa snorted trying to hold back a laugh. Rhian did the same. “Vianne, I just saw you spread eagled with Alexa riding your face. There’s not much more left to my imagination.” Rhian was torn between holding her ankle or holding her face, she finally curled into a ball so she could do both.
