'It was either that or go completely off my head.'

'Oh, darling,' she cried. 'And I was late coming back from taking Kitty and John to school.'

'Oh!' she gasped in surprise, and smiled as she softly added, 'I remember that day.'

'There you were, damp, beautiful, mischievous and, I thought, absolutely delightful.'

  'You kissed me.'

'And you returned the compliment,' he replied with a rueful grin. 'Promise me something else.'

  'Again-anything.'

'I want our children to be just like you-promise you'll teach them to eat ice-creams in the rain.' She laughed joyously-she loved him.
