Runaway

"Maybe your brother." He sounded annoyed. "Do you know all calls have to go through him first because our phones are operating on his private network?"

Aw, crap. "Will you ask my brother if he knows why so many people suddenly support my father? Especially people who used to have opposing viewpoints."

"Sure," he said. "Gotta go. Listen, think about cute outfits. Me getting you out of them, to be precise."

I gasped and shook my head, even though he couldn't see me. But he could hear my quick intake of breath, and deep laughter filled the line. "Next time you call me it better be for phone sex," I yelled on purpose because I suspected my brother was indeed listening in to our conversation.

"Yes, ma'am." He ended the call and I slid back in my chair, a big grin on my face. Giving a fearful look to the computer, I switched it off and left the room. There was no need to get captured by that monster any time soon. My stomach rumbled and I went for the kitchen, hoping I wouldn't burn down the house with my bad cooking. Adrian, Michael and Paula were supposed to arrive to my brother's hideout soon, and I knew it would pass some time before we found out what Oliver was scheming.

My priority for the next few months was getting in control of my elements and learning every single thing I could do with them. Ok, maybe not every thing, but only the useful ones. It wasn't going to be easy, but I had to do it if I wanted to be able to deal with my brother's people and with my parents and their agents. Maybe I wasn't sure what everyone was planning, but I was going to find out. All other things could wait.

  Thank you for reading!

First of all, my apologies to those who had to wait a bit longer to read this book. The third book, Divided, is going to be published on January 3rd 2013.

If you like to read young adult books about demons and angels with a bit of romance, you can check out my book, Human. It follows a 17-year-old girl who tries to figure out who she is, and who would do anything for her loved ones. The book doesn't have any mature content.
