  “I understand that. It sucks to know the truth, but with me as your Protector nothing will hurt you ever. I will prove it to you over time, I promise,” he said.

  I held on for dear life, and we stopped at a place somewhere in Luxor in the north section, the fancier side of

  Luxor. It’s where a lot of the wealthier creatures live, too. A place that I would have loved to have afforded to live if I had had a better job and more money. We arrived at an apartment complex and it’s one of the nicer ones. It’s one of the black-roofed and red-walled ones. I like it. We arrived there, and he retracted his wings, and he put me down.

  We walked to a door marked 1A and Castiel said, “Welcome to my place. We can crash here. I know it’s not ideal and you barely know me, but you are safe, and you have nothing to worry about until I can get in touch with the AngelWitches. I was following you for some time, and I saw the evil guys break in, so that is why I snuck to the back to keep you safe.”

  I wasn’t comfortable crashing with someone I barely knew, but in that moment I didn’t care. I had no choice, and it’s not like I could stay where I was since now the bad guys know. The werewolves would have found me in there eventually, too. He took out the key and opened the door. Inside was a pretty cool place. It looked like a nice living room.

  “This is my place. The living room, kitchen to the left, and there is a bathroom down the hall to the left my room which is at the end, and an office to the right. You can stay here, and we can get you situated soon. There is an island just for AngelWitches, and you can get your very own dragon too…,” he said.

  My eyes widen. “Dragons? Wow, I knew they existed, but I’ve never seen one up close…”

  “I have seen them a lot. In fact, they are here to aid the angels and witches in the upcoming battle for good and evil,” he said.

  “No pressure, huh?” I said. I’m not like the rest and I can heal much faster.

  “We can help you along the way and there is Angeline, too. She is the leader and she will make a good guide for you. You’re dealing with a lot. The good news is you won’t have to deal with it alone anymore,” he told me.

  I did feel reassured, and at least I wasn’t alone…

  It did make me feel better, way better than earlier, and I felt safer now than I’ve felt in a long time. I saw he had a sofa and TV, so I sat down.

  I sighed, took a deep breath, and I was ready to sleep since I was that tired.

  “Rest, you will be fine here…,” he said. And I did.

  The next morning I woke up and I was in the same clothes as I was in yesterday. I felt like shit. Yesterday was long enough without having the guys break into my place. I get up and my neck is sore from sleeping on it so much. I see by my feet an overnight bag. It’s the one I used to transport my stuff from my ex’s house to mine. The smell of bacon and hash browns made my mouth water. He can cook? Damn. I stretch my arms and get my bag. I open it and there are all the essentials I needed. I get a change of clothes and all my stuff to take a shower. I want to use it to clear my head. A lot happened last night, and I want to come up with a plan. Those idiots are most likely going to come back.

  His bathroom was nice too. I let the hot shower take away my stress and took my time with it. After the shower, I sat back in the living room, but I still needed to talk to Castiel about everything. I will ask him soon. I was still reeling from yesterday, and there are things I needed to know, too.

  “Breakfast is ready…,” Castiel said. He was in the kitchen, and there was a table and a few chairs next to it. I took a seat and he put a plate in front of me; bacon, hash browns, and toast. I was hungry, too.

  “Dig in while it’s hot,” he said. I smiled at him, loving the fact that he made me breakfast.

  “Thanks. I can get used to this,” I said.

  “Please do since you are my angel and we are stuck with each other,” he said, smiling enough to make my heart race.

  I loved it; crispy bacon, eggs were perfect, and I even ate crispy hash browns. Yummy! I dug in and gulped it down and felt better immediately.

  Castiel sat across from me and began eating his plate of food in front of him. He even looked sexy eating. Yum.

  There was silence for a few minutes then he said, “We have to go to the island and see Angeline. Felix, who is the leader of the Protectors, has been trying to get in touch with me. I haven’t responded since I needed you first. Actually, I need to make the call now and let him know you are safe.”

  Castiel stepped out and made the call to the leader. He even updated him on the situation and came back in the kitchen to finish eating.

  I said, “I hope everything went well and that I can see them soon. Well, if she can help me get the dark angels off my back that would be great. I get enough drama with Nikki’s customers; I don’t need putting my life in danger with it. Luckily, I’m off for a week anyway,” I told him.

  He smiled. “Good for us since it allows you to get settled, too. The island was created for AngelWitches and their Protectors. It’s not in Luxor but in the Super Celestial realm.”

  “Wow… There’s even an Angel realm?” I asked. That was news to me.

  He nodded. “Sure is, and that is where my parents live.”

  “That is good, and I can’t wait to see this new world I have yet to explore,” I said.

  Piecing my life back together isn’t going to be easy, but it’s better than working at Nikki’s the rest of my life. I think I would take the dark angels trying to kill me over the Nikki’s bullshit any day of the week. I have gotten so numb doing customer service that I don’t give a shit if they give me an attitude anymore. And yet, I’d rather be extraordinary rather than a department store worker selling vampire, witch, and, were clothes…

  “You do have a lot to think about, but you’ll never be alone. I’m your Protector which means everything. I will never hurt you or leave,” he said.

  I smiled. I could definitely get used to this. And at least he won’t be someone who said time apart when he really meant break up and get another bitch to fall for his shit. I hope he is better than my ex.

  “Okay, but we are taking it slow,” I said not wanting to get hurt again.

  He smiled. “I understand. I know what it’s like to be hurt and alone.”

  Then he knew what I was going through and knew that it’s not easy either. It’s not the same after a breakup. I had to get used to being alone, and I had to change a lot of stuff around. It was the worst, and I hate having these feelings.

  “Well, you will see that I’m not like the rest, and I will show you with actions, not words,” he said.

  I didn’t know if I believed him but only time will tell. I finished up my breakfast since I knew it would bite me in the ass if I didn’t. I know it wouldn’t be easy learning an Angel magic system either. I’ll be part of the AngelWitch coven, and it will increase my powers. I know about the ability to change into a mermaid and breathe underwater. I also know how to use guardians to help me fight, so it will be interesting to see how Angel magic works.

  I threw away my trash after I was done.

  “Now that it’s going to change, what’s the next step?” I asked.

  He smiled. “Time to make it to the island.”

  Chapter 3

  It’s finally time to meet my destiny. It will be interesting to see what happens next, and maybe I can get to meet my dad. I was already ready, and I just needed my jacket since my backpack was already done.

  “There is a path to the island from here and we can take my car to not attract anyone's attention, which is a good way to stay under the radar,” he said.

  Oh cool, it self-drives. That makes driving less of a pain. After buckling up, he turned on the tablet and after powering it up it said, "Welcome Castiel, where to?"

  "The island," he said.

  "You got it," and the car started rolling and off we went. It’s exciting to experience this since I’ve never really known my true heritage until now. I am
happy to say it’s exciting to see Luxor like this. Luxor streets pass by and creatures of all kinds are using cars to drive. Some even have wings to fly; gargoyles, dragons, and all kinds of creatures. We passed by cemeteries with ghouls eating the dead, and vampires stalking the streets for victims. Some even have donors they date, and they get blood from them. I’ll even be able to see the Angel realm.

  We pass by witch coven houses that have witch symbols on them. The ones with vampire clan symbols have their own community, and some houses have werewolf packs in them. Even werewolf pack houses have symbols, and, thankfully, I don’t see the one I was running from. We also passed by the Luxor mall, and I was happy to get a break from the place. I was happy to do something better than retail, period. I was tired of department stores since they’re understaffed, and the hours can be crazier than a supermarket. Stuff passed by in a blur, but it looked like we were almost there. The car slowed to a stop and Castiel go out. I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out of the car.

  Castiel stood in front of a black building.

  “This is one way of getting to the Angel Realm island. It has a direct portal to the AngelWitch compound. Some don’t even need to worry about flying and we have these in place to prevent witches from being taken. It’s also a quicker route.”

  Then he held his hand near the building’s wall and a shimmery portal gave way to a console with a passcode. He input the numbers and it dissolved.

  “Come with me,” he said.

  I stepped through and it looked like we entered a living room with a fireplace. And standing there was a young woman with long, black hair, gray eyes, pale, and she had a smile on her face. Next to her was a guy with short, dark-blonde hair, and blue eyes. He was tan and smiled too. The leaders and welcoming committee.

  The girl spoke. “My name is Angeline and the hot guy next to me is my Angelmate, Felix. We have been expecting you.”

  “Nice to meet you! My name is Mia and I’m sure you know Castiel since he found me before the dark angels did,” I said.

  Felix smiled. “And in time, once you are bonded to Castiel, it will change your life like it did mine.”

  “It already has.”

  Castiel said, “I have her safe here, and I doubt they are able to follow us here since it’s guarded well.”

  Felix said, “She is definitely safe here.”

  “We can take care of it. She has been running for long enough,” Castiel said.

  “The important thing is now that you are here there is no need to worry. We will help in any way we can,” Angeline said.

  As long as I was safe, I really couldn’t care less. I didn’t need to worry since I was now in good hands, I hoped.

  “The trackers came for her too, so whatever the plan is it has to be quick. And we need to make her Castiel’s before something else happens since it’s the only way to have them off her tail,” Angeline said.

  “Okay, it will be an adjustment,” I smiled.

  I’ll be an AngelWitch soon. It will be interesting to be with an Angel and I always hoped I would find my mate. I wanted to be in a healthy relationship and not alone. I never expected to be with an angel, though. After my ex used me, I just wanted to be free of everything. I don’t have a choice in the matter. Last night was good though.

  “Give her a tour of the island and show her to her room since we need her on board soon,” Felix said.

  “Will do,” Castiel said.

  I followed him and saw the place was huge. After walking through a few well-lit hallways with angels on them it led to a huge room. Angels and witches were passing by and smiling. All the pathways we took led to a door marked AngelWitch quarters. Castiel swiped a key card and we got in. It was a nice little living room, too. Cozy with a crackling fire going. I loved it since it felt like home. There was even a fireplace, too, which gave the room a fiery, woodsy smell. It’s a nice place. It felt like an actual home since there were cute sayings on the wall. The decor was nice, and it even smelled like vanilla aside from the fire logs. I loved it since it felt like a place I would want to live.

  “Here is where we are staying for the time being,” he said.

  “I love it,” I said.

  And when I saw the bed in the next room, I loved it since it was huge as well. There was even a flat screen TV. It was cozy as far as places go since there was a dresser, chair, table, and laptop. Still it was overwhelming since I wasn’t used to having this much stuff.

  “I stay in the Protector quarters, but I can stay with you if you like,” he said.

  “Please stay?” I said, not wanting him to leave me. It was a long night too, but at least I was safe.

  He smiled. “You got it. I don’t want to leave anyway since we just found each other.”

  “Good, maybe it means the search for love is finally over. I was recently out of a shitty relationship since the person was shitty to me, abusive, and didn’t even tell me it was a breakup. I have horrible luck with men till now…,” I trailed off.

  “It’s a good thing you got out of it,” he said.

  “Yep, but the corrupt leader of the werewolf pack is still out there…,” I said.

  “Well, after you become an AngelWitch we can bring them down and, in turn, you can help us with the upcoming battle…,” he said.

  “What battle?” I asked.

  “The dark angels are preparing for war against us, and they are trying to get AngelWitches in order to make their numbers grow. They are the dark ones who kill without mercy,” he said.

  I was happy since it meant I was more than just your average department store worker. I have someone by my side who won’t leave me at all.

  “With you by my side I can conquer anything I come across,” I said.

  “Yes, we can,” he said.

  I went to him, and he held me close. And then I kissed him, and he kissed me. And it was the best feeling in the world. I am loving it already, and I also wonder what it’s like to be closer to him. So close that our bodies can’t be torn apart at all. I’ve never felt anything like it before. Ever. I’m really looking forward to the future for once.

  The kiss deepens and before I know it clothes come off and we become one like an ordinary couple. It was the first time in a long time that I was with someone I actually loved. I was really happy despite being chased and exhausted. After we were done, we just laid there watching TV like a normal couple cuddling, and it was nice.

  Chapter 4

  There was still a lot to do, and I still needed my AngelWitch superpowers. I am going to be way stronger when I get them. I will have to do the ritual first thing since it means more power and a chance of stopping everything. I hope to stop it at least.

  Castiel and I had breakfast in the morning at the cafeteria there, and we didn’t have to pay for it, either. It’s free to AngelWitches and their Protectors and staff. Afterward, we went to the command area to see Angeline and Felix.

  “So we got everything ready to bring you into your power today. You need to come into it before anything else happens, and we can go from there. We need more allies, too,” Angeline said.

  I nod. “That sounds good, and afterward we can form a plan of attack. I want to bring the leader down already.”

  A girl with red hair and green eyes came in the room followed by a guy with short, dark hair, brown eyes, and tattoos.

  “Hi, you must be the new girl. My name is Ember, and this is my mate Syphon. I know just the person to talk to after the ritual is over. I used to work at Rockie’s Blood, and Rockie is a werewolf so maybe he will know more, too,” Ember said.

  I smile. “That is a start. I don’t want to be a target any more than I used to be.”

  “Not anymore and you’ll be bonded to Castiel, too,” said Angeline. I believed it since she was a major leader.

  “Yes,” Felix said.

  “Good,” I said.

  There were more people like me? Wow. I was happy. I also wanted to get my life back. The leader is named Dorian Stone
. He is a ruthless asshole that will do anything. Anything. Including selling his own. I tried to help my friend escape since he was using her, but I failed. She is gone now, and we used to be friends. I have no idea what happened to her. I need to find out on top of that.

  “I’ll be there for you every step of the way. I’m yours for life,” Castiel said.

  “You have to prove it over time,” I said.

  “I will, and I will show you that not every guy will hurt you,” he said.

  “I’m ready to come into my power,” I said.

  Castiel is mine for life, and it doesn’t bother me since, as hard as it’s been, I love the feeling of being in a healthy relationship, too. I was finally going to be part of a coven and be something more than a Nikki’s worker. I was happy to be part of a team. I always have my sapphire to protect me, too. The water element was also there, and I even have the power to breathe water. I can also turn into a mer-person, too. My powers can even go as far as talking to sea creatures. I even visited the water kingdom some. It’s going to be good to get my life back together. I can’t wait. I want to go back and visit my friend in the underwater kingdom to tell her all that went down. I want to do it when it’s safe.

  “I can go back to the underwater kingdom when it’s safe…,” I told Castiel.

  He smiled. “And you can take me with you since I’ll be able to share your power once we are bonded…,”

  I smiled. “Of course, and I can show you my world, especially when it’s safe.”

  “It will be soon,” he said.

  I wanted to believe it. I need to see it through because my life was ruined thanks to that jackass.

  Angeline looked at me. “Well, we need all the help we can get so maybe the sea people are willing to help us, too.”

  “They would be. I can talk to them,” I said.

  “Now we have the spiders, which is our people, and scorpions thanks to me getting the sword with Syphon. Syphon and the shifters needed my help in obtaining the sword to call the scorpions, and I’m also a powerful witch with the power over fire. My book is powerful, too, and it will help us call the dragons so they can help us in battle. There is a war going on between the witches and dark angels. There is also an evil coming to stop peace in the realms. And you have your coven now, too,” Ember said.
