Dahlia asked, “Will it have teleportation capability?”

“Yes but that’s all it will have. There won’t be room for a null drive.”

  “What about a force field?”

“There’s no room for one of those either.”

Dahlia smiled, “You need to let us worry about building larger ships. If you’ll share this technology with us, we should be able to defend ourselves. I think I understand why my ancestors were sent to my planet.”

Ping nodded, “We cannot allow any of the Five to uncover nemite; they would become unbeatable.”

Sprigly leaned forward, “I’ll have the first ship ready for you to take back when the portal is cleared.”

Dahlia looked at Ping, “What are you going to do?”

  “What do you think?”

“I guess now that your Realm is no longer going to have so many ships in my universe, I thought you’d want to stay home.”

Ping shook his head, “Danielle was right.” Dahlia’s eyebrows went up. “We would have never thought of using the portal here to get to your universe. We also wouldn’t have thought about attacking the Black Ships to reduce their numbers against the Rageon. You saw those things and, as a result of those observations, we can send the new ships we’re going to build to your universe to fight against them. My given task is to defend you. I intend to do just that.”

Sprigly said, “The first ship does have two chairs on the bridge.”

Dahlia looked at Sprigly, “How many bathrooms?”

“Just the one; the two of you will have to learn how to share.”

Dahlia sighed, “I guess you’re right. How long will it be before we can leave?”

  “At least two weeks.”

Dahlia turned to Ping, “I still haven’t visited Bristone.”

Ping smiled, “Let’s stay here to see what the Algeans uncover; I’ll take you there in three days. After you see it, I’m taking you to the armory and have you fitted for armor. We should have enough time to teach you how to use it.”

Dahlia nodded and stared at Ping, “I hope we can get along.”

Ping looked at her, “We’ll do what we must.”

Dahlia sighed, nodded, and turned back to the hill. Ping didn’t see it but Sprigly did; Dahlia had a big smile.

  Epilogue

The new fighters were called Mites because of their size and the substance that made them so dangerous. The first ship was delivered to Dahlia’s planet and the new blasters and missiles were duplicated by the engineers and installed on the seven thousand Nemite Ships that were stored at the ice cap. Within six months, three thousand Mites arrived through the portal and were sent out to search and destroy any ships that offered an opportunity to be attacked. The construction facilities underground were expanded and the Planters started building their fleets in earnest.

The Five began noticing that many of their ships were disappearing without a trace and a search was started to find what was causing the loss of so many warships. The construction of the Five’s fleets was also going at full blast and the single planet facing them was outnumbered and outgunned by millions. But they were not known and, as time went by, all of the Five knew that some new force had appeared that had to be found. That was when the Rageon and Black Civilization decided to do a thorough search of the disputed Star Cluster.

  Running Out of Time

Katherine stared at her monitor and watched as the forty dark grey ships flashed in on the squadron of Rovers and opened fire. The hundred Rovers scattered but twenty six of them exploded in huge red explosions. The survivors turned on their attackers and started firing at them but their beams were shrugged off by the Grey Ships. “Where did those ships come from?”

“They lifted off the planet they invaded six months ago. The squadron of Rovers were sent there to hit their ship building facilities on the planet.”

“Those ships are light years ahead of their other ships.”

“Yes Sir, they are. We’ve started taking a close look at the planets invaded in the Red Zone in M87 and we’ve discovered they were chosen for a reason.”

  “What is that?”

“It appears all of them have an abundance of an ore that is used to build those ships. They’re starting to build those ships in huge numbers and it appears we can’t match them with our current technology.”

“How would they know about that ore?”

“We don’t know, Admiral. However, if we don’t slow them down, we’re in big trouble.”

Katherine stared at the display as the other Rovers were killed. Only ten ships managed to escape. “Get Dat Arvolo here now!” Katherine stared at a still of a small Grey Ship that spelled doom for the civilized planets in the Milky Way. If an answer to them wasn’t found quickly…Katherine shook her head. Where did they learn how to build that ship?
