After I had my soup we both laid on the couch and watched some TV. We watched a couple episodes of 'White Collar' and 'Scandal.' Thursday night shows rocked.

It was really nice to have some down time with Matt. For the first time in a long time I felt at peace - happiness. Matt made me start believing that things would be okay with me. With us.

I fell asleep in Matt's arms once the TV was turned off, listening to nothing but the waves crashing onto the shore.

  Yep. Peace.

  *****

My lawyer got back to me the following morning. It was true. Everything in those documents were legit. I was now the full owner of Xaiver's home, property and had ten million dollars in my name.

  Shit!

I told my lawyer I wanted to start a foundation with the money and she thought it was a brilliant plan. She said she would set up the ground work and start the process immediately, and would keep me posted. I felt good about my choice - It was the only good thing that ever came out of this horrible nightmare.

Moments after I hung up my cell, Matt came back from running. He was all hot and sweaty - so very sexy; he had on a pair of loose, blue shorts, an arm movement pedometer, hair that was damp, curling on his forehead, and yes, no shirt.

Yummy. Hot, sweaty and no shirt, Matt was even better.

“Hey babe.” Matt said out of breath. He took off his pedometer, went into the kitchen and got a bottle of water. He came back out into the living room, opened the bottle and drank the entire thing. That was hot too. Damn! I couldn't stop staring at him. I wanted to jump him right here, right now. I was licking my lips, grinning. I got up from my chair, took the empty bottle out of his hands, threw it on the ground and locked my lips onto his. Tongue and all. We hooked arms around one another and made out like crazy teenagers.

I unlocked my lips from his. “Lets go take a shower.” I said breathy and wickedly smiling. “You all hot and sweaty is very sexy, but I really, really want to clean you up, if you know what I mean?”

“Fucking, hell yeah, baby. If I had known you liked me this way, I should have been coming home to you like this from the beginning.” He gave me his wicked smile as well.

  So sexy!

I love when he lifts me up with his strong arms and I get to wrap my legs around his waist. Showering here with Matt is always hot. He pushes me up against the shower wall and says, “Take me baby.” I happily take him.

After the shower we make love, again, on my bed. Wet bodies with wet hair, dripping on the bed. Who could ask for a better morning?

“You must feel better after attacking me, huh?”

Lying together under the sheets, spooning, I laughed. “You looked so hot, Matt, how could I not attack you.” Giggling. “But yes, I do feel a bit better than yesterday. Although I still don't have a great appetite.”

“I guess you had some sort of bug or a lingering hangover?

  “Maybe.”

Matt turned me over onto my back and kissed me another deep one. That tongue is simply hot and sweet.

“Mmmm, you taste so good babe.” He said in his huskiness voice. “But I need to get into the shop.”

  “Okay.” I whispered.

  “Meet me at Reds tonight?”

  “Yes.”

“Good.” One more short and sweet kiss and he was out of bed.

I suddenly felt cold without him even though it was seventy-five degrees outside. Fifteen minutes later he was gone. Yep. Definitely felt colder. I finally got myself out of bed, dressed and went downstairs for a bite to eat. Nothing really sounded good so I just chose a piece of toast and some coffee. I had plans to get out my camera and go down to the beach to shoot some pictures. My happiness was finally coming back and I couldn't wait to get back to work.

  MATT

Marty looked amazing when she walked toward our table. Her hair was flowing below her shoulders, pinned back on the side, showing off her diamond stud earrings. She had on a red, sheer dress that came up above her knees, and was wearing black heels. She was fucking gorgeous. Wait. That necklace she was wearing.

  Holy shit.

“Babe, you look so beautiful.” I whispered in her ear and gave her a kiss.

She smiled at me and replied, “Thanks.”

Before we sat down I brought my fingers up to her necklace. I carefully looked at it. My eyes

reached up to hers. “I can't believe you still have it.” I was blown away.

“Of course I still have it. You never left my heart, Matt.” She touched my cheek.

  Holy hell.

  “I love you.” I said.

“And I love you.” She said back.

  *****

  MARTY

I thought tonight was the perfect night to wear my necklace. It felt so good to have it around my neck again. I knew Matt would notice it. His eyes lit up when I walked through the patio doors. His smile and touch made me melt, which I always do when I'm around him.

We sat together in a booth with Mitch and Chuck. They were already on their second drink and were eating appetizers;stuffed mushrooms and warm bread were at the table. The food should have been calling my name, but dammit, it looked and smelled awful.

“You alright babe?” Matt asked me. His right arm was laying across my shoulders, rubbing my arm. I loved his touch.

Nodding my head. “Mmhmm. Yes, of course.” No. Not really, but I didn't want to ruin the evening.

The waitress came up to our table. She seemed to know the guys pretty well. Matt introduced me to her. Sandy was her name.

“What can I get for you, Marty?” Sandy asked.

“Um. How about just a club soda, thanks.”

“Sure. Coming right up. Anything else you guys need?”

“Nope. Nothin' else Sandy girl.” Chuck said back.

“Alrighty then, I'll get your club soda.”

I said thanks, again, and Sandy headed back to the bar.

“We got some good grub goin' on Marty, if you'd like some.” Mitch said as he was pushing the food closer to me.

“Uh, thanks, but I'm not very hungry. Looks good though.” No, it did not. I wanted to push the plate away, but didn't want to seem rude. I hadn't eaten anything since lunch. Well, it was a very small lunch - a yogurt. I really had no idea what was going on with me. I was relieved when Sandy came back with my club soda. My stomach was feeling the need of something even if it wasn't for actual food.

“Hey, sure you're okay? You haven't eaten much this week.” Matt looked so concerned.

“I'm good, honey. Really.” I assured him, even though I was lying.

He gave me a peck on the cheek and took a swig of his beer. The band on stage had ended their number and were getting ready to start their next song when the lead singer asked for Matt and Chuck to come up to the stage.

“I have a surprise for you, baby.” Matt whispered in my ear which gave me chills.

  I love chills from Matt.

Seeing my sexy man go up on stage gave me more chills. I was so excited. He and Chuck took a couple guitars from the band. Matt and his guitar. So hot. Matt cleared his throat before he talked into the mike. “This song goes way back. Back to when I was a teenager and fell in love with my girl. Unfortunately we had lost each other after I left for the Air Force, but fifteen years later fate had brought us back together. Marty, I just want you know how much I love you and how blessed I am that you're back in my life. This is for you, babe.”

  Oh, my God.

Tears welled up in my eyes. My God how I love this man. The song began. Holy shit it was our song, 'November Rain.' Oh God I'm really going to start sobbing. Every note, every word Matt sang was breathtaking. He was so beautiful. His voice was unbelievable. I had forgotten where I was because I tuned everyone out and just stared at my beautiful Matt. He never took his eyes away from me as he sang. We were in such a moment that no one could ever understand unless they've walked in our shoes. This song was 'our song.' We fell in love during that song
- it brought back a memory, which held a special place in my heart.

“That’s pretty. What song is that?” I asked curiously.

Matt and I were spending our free time, under the limbo tree, a week before school started up again. I was fiddling with my camera while Matt had his guitar, playing a song I haven’t heard before.

With his fingers gently strumming the strings, Matt replied, “S’called ‘November Rain.’ I was digging through some old boxes of one of my brothers and found a bunch of old tapes from the 80’s. I really dug this song - kinda stuck with me.”

“Can you sing it for me?”

Every time Matt sang I blushed. He’d stare into my eyes, singing to me like he was speaking to my heart. I fell in love with him in that moment.

From then on, ‘November Rain,’ became ours…

The song had ended and everyone pretty much gave him a standing ovation. He said his thanks and came straight for me. I got up and wrapped myself into his arms. I was a sobbing dope, but I didn't care. I kissed him through my tears.

“Oh my God that was so beautiful.” I said sobbing. “I haven't heard that song in so long, thank you. My God, thank you.”

“You're my life, Marty. Marry Me.” He asked.

What the hell?! Did I hear him right?

“What did you say?” I was stunned.

“I asked, will you marry me?” He had a hold on both sides of my face. He was dead serious.

“Woo hoo! You go pretty boy! Fuck yeah!” Chuck yelled and laughed from the table.

“Matt -” I started to talk, but Matt cut me off, putting his finger on my lips.

“I know what you're thinking, but before you say anything I just want to tell you that this was not planned, believe me it wasn't, but after I sang our song to you, seeing you sitting there crying, I knew I wanted to ask you. You're everything I have ever wanted in my life. You brought back happiness that was gone for so long and that happiness, baby, is what I see in your eyes right now. It's what you see in my eyes every day. You are my world. Rain or shine I want you in my world. Today, tomorrow, old and gray, I want you in my world. Please be my wife, Marty.”

I didn't hesitate. I said, “Yes.” Through my tears I said yes. Oh. My. God.

  CHAPTER 18

  MARTY

I heard clapping and whistling, but ignored them. I was in Matt's arms. He was kissing me. I was still sobbing like a sappy dope, but I was happy. Oh, so very happy.

We overhear Chuck shout out, “Hey, Sandy girl! We need a round of champagne! My pretty boy here and his pretty lady are gettin' hitched!” Matt and I look at each other and laugh. Once we had our flutes of champagne Chuck made a toast, “Here's to Matt and Marty to findin' one another again. May you have a happy life together.”

“Cheers.” We all said in unison.

Even though I didn't want to drink my bubbly I only took a sip. I eventually had some bread and a cup of soup. That settled the pit in my stomach.

  *****

Matt and I left our friends at Reds to continue our celebration at my house, in my bed. “Fuck, you feel amazing, baby. So hot and wet for me.” Matt said in his huskiness. I was on top, riding his fantastic body. My hands were placed on his hard chest feeling his abs. They were glistening from our lovemaking. My body rocked against his until I felt my release. What a beautiful feeling. Matt gripped my hips, fucking me from below. His breathing increased and I knew he was getting close. I was flipped onto my back within seconds and was so turned on when he groaned from his orgasm. Holy Sweetness.

I awoke in the middle of the night, nauseated and unable to sleep; I gently moved out of Matt's arms, grabbed his discarded t-shirt and went downstairs. I found the antacid chewables in the kitchen cabinet, next to the sink. I took a couple and got myself a lemon-lime soda. Something was not right. I shouldn't be feeling a hangover any longer. Suddenly it dawned on me that it wasn’t a hangover, but morning sickness! I remember like it was yesterday, feeling this way when I got pregnant the first time. I didn't think it was possible I'd get pregnant again. The doctors in Paris told me there was too much damage after the C-section. They said I would have a lot of scar tissue.

I decided to hold off from telling Matt anything until I took a pregnancy test. I tried not think about it anymore and went back upstairs. I curled next to Matt, wrapped my arm around his middle and thought about, what if? What if I was pregnant? Would I be able to handle having another baby inside my body? I was terrified that I could lose him or her and would never be able to recover a second time. I rubbed my belly, praying nothing bad would happen. Closing my eyes I eventually was able to drift back to sleep.

  *****

The next morning I was awoken with a simple kiss on my cheek. “Mornin', babe.”

“Mmmmm. Morning.” I whispered in a groggy voice.

“I have to go to the shop for a couple hours.”

  “Okay.”

  “I love you.”

I opened my eyes even though I wanted nothing more than anything to shut them, but Matt was too beautiful to keep them shut. He was on the edge of the bed looking so good - showered and dressed with his jeans and t-shirt. I brought my hands to his face. He bent down and gave me a full on warm, soft kiss. His tongue tasted minty. Yum.

“I love you too, honey.” I fell back to sleep once Matt left my sight.

Waking up an hour later I still felt like my body had weights on them, holding me down. I wanted to collapse again; Another signI could be pregnant. I got myself up, showered and dressed. I had no desire for coffee, but just had a piece of toast to help with the nastiness in my stomach. I texted Matt letting him know I was going to run a few errands and would meet him back at the house. He responded with an “Ok” and a happy face that had hearts as eyes. He was so sweet.

The pregnancy test was the last item I placed in my basket. I was nervous as hell about what the results held for me. Matt would be over the moon if the test came back positive. But I would be nervous as hell.

Thank God Matt wasn't home when I arrived back. It meant I wouldn't have to explain why I was racing upstairs. I went straight to the bathroom, took out the test from the bag, and stared at it. Fucking hell, I was so nervous. Taking a deep breath, I opened the box, read the directions and did my thing. Okay, now the waiting began. The waiting sucked big time. I paced back and forth, wringing my hands together, and feeling my heart pounding through my chest.

“Marty?” I heard Matt shout outside the bathroom door.

Oh good Lord he was home.

“Uh, yeah! I'll be right out!” Come on test, hurry the hell up, I was thinking.

  “I'll be downstairs.”

“Okay, hon!” Hurry, hurry! I took another shaky breath and looked at the test. The two pink lines said it all.

  Holy hell, I was pregnant.

  *****

  MATT

I don't know why I'm so nervous, I asked her already. She said yes. My God I can't believe she said yes. Last night is something I'll never forget. We have been through so much in such a short time, but have loved each other longer. Waiting wasn't an option. She's the love of my life and now I'm going to make it official. I just know this will look perfect on her. Simple, yet elegant, and beautiful.

The velvet box was in my hand. She was coming down the stairs so I hid it in my jeans pocket. She looked tired, and seemed to be losing a little bit of weight. I've been pretty worried about her. She hasn't been eating enough. I might have to force her to go to the doctors if she doesn't start getting better.

“Hey.” Marty said once she got to the bottom of the stairs. She came to me and fit her body with mine. My chin hitting the top of her head, I stroked her neck and kissed her it. She lifted her face to mine, stood on her tippy toes and gave me a short, warm kiss.

  God, I love this woman.

“Lets sit down.” She took my hand and brought me outside. I sat on one of the lounge chairs, legs splayed out to the sides, Marty sitting facing me. “I have something to tel
l you.”

I drew my brows together, hoping everything was okay. “What is it, babe? Everything okay?”

“Yeah, uh, I think so.” She was nervous about something. The sound of her voice only proved that. She exhaled from a deep breath and announced, “I'm pregnant, Matt.”

  I blinked, speechless, shocked.

Pregnant? She did she just say she was pregnant? I did not see this coming.

“Matt, did you hear what I just said?”

“Baby, I heard you.” I quickly responded and started chuckling. I took her face into my hands and kissed her. “My God, I'm so fucking happy, you have no idea.” I kissed her again, and then held her body close to mine. “I can't believe this. A baby. Are you serious?”

Marty's eyes were gleaming, nodding her head she whispered, “I'm serious. I just took a test. That's what I was doing when you got home just now. You're really okay with this?”

“Am I really okay wi- fuck, Marty, of course I am. You have no idea what this means to me. This is what I have been dreaming about my entire life. You, me, and a family - It's incredible.

You've made me the happiest, goddamn man on this planet. When things couldn't have gotten any better - My God, a baby.” I put my hand on her belly. “Our baby.”

Marty was now full on fledged crying. She couldn't be more beautiful then in this moment right here, right now. “God, I was so afraid, Matt. I didn't think I could get pregnant again, you know, after what happened to me.” She shared with me. “And then I wasn't sure if I wanted to get pregnant again in fear of losing another one. I couldn't go through that again. I can't go through that again. I'm so afraid.”

Assuring her I said, “Babe, that is understandable, but you would have never lost your baby if it weren't for those thugs. You gotta know that.” She nodded her head. “This baby, our baby - nothing will happen to him or her. No one is going to take away what's living inside you. I promise you that.” Marty collapsed in my arms and cried. I held on like there was no tomorrow. I will do anything to make her believe she won't lose our baby.

Fuck, this was incredible. A baby.
