Epilogue
One year later
Darius couldn’t remember a time of being more nervous.
Well, maybe that time on Pamela Hartson’s show when he poured his heart out to Ashley. He hadn’t known how that would turn out, but he’d followed his gut and it had turned out perfectly. He was doing the same thing here.
He squeezed Ashley’s hand for moral support. He knew she’d always stand beside him, the way he’d stood by her through the battle to get rid of Morey once and for all. That had turned very ugly and his heart ached at the memory. Morey lashed out in his wounded pride and wrote that blasted tell all, exposing the secrets of Gabriel and Ashley Williams to all the world.
To this day, both he and Ashley were astounded at how the people stood by her. There were countless protests against the book and the publisher. Many high powered Hollywood names publicly slammed the book as well, until in the end, it sold fewer copies then almost any other book in history. Morey had been branded nothing more than a bitter old man making up lies to hurt America’s Sweetheart.
Last either of them had heard, he’d taken the money he’d made of Ashley’s career and moved to Greece. He for one hoped they never heard from him again. He looked down on his beautiful woman and thought that together, they made a damn wonderful team.
Sitting in the back of the auto with her, he stared at the small villa. His search hadn’t been as hard as he’d expected and it ended here, in a small village outside the historic town of Lucca, Italy.
“Are you going to go in, or just sit here and stare at the cypress?”
He drew a deep breath.
“I’m going.”
She kissed him softly and tenderly touched his cheek.
“I love you.”
Those words had been a long time coming, but once she’d said them, it was like a floodgate opening, but they were three little words he’d never tire of hearing.
“I love you, too.”
One last squeeze of her hand and he started along the cobblestone walk to the front door.
The breath froze in his lungs as he waited for the door to open. When it finally did, he felt some disappointment.
The woman holding the door appeared to be in her late thirties, beautiful with long dark hair and large dark eyes, but she wasn’t the woman he looked for.
“I’m sorry. I was looking for Señora Canton.”
She smiled and Darius felt himself drawn in by the sheer peace he felt in this woman.
“That’s me.”
He shook his head, but held onto the hope that all this hadn’t been for nothing.
“Um, I’m sorry, maybe I was given wrong information then, but I was told Señora Canton was…uh, well, older.”
She laughed, a beautiful sound just as lovely as the woman standing before him.
“Well, I think I’m old enough. What was it you needed from me?”
Suddenly somber, he stared at her, hoping for some spark of recognition, but there wasn’t any. He looked back at the car, knowing Ashley would be holding her breath, watching every second of the exchange.
Drawing strength from her love, he turned back to the woman in the doorway.
“I’m Darius Kiersen. I believe I’m your son.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Samantha was born and raised in Southern California. She now lives in the mountains of Virginia and is loving the discovery of seasons!
As a teenager she did commercials, a couple of rock videos, and a bunch of extra jobs in television and movies saying “it was a great way to spend some time and make money, especially when you're a kid.” Her first ever "real" job was at Disneyland, which she loved more than anything since she is, and declares always will be, a Disney theme park freak.
Now the mother of two teenage boys, she's a dedicated home schooling mom with a die-hard love of animals. She owns a small zoo herself because every time she drives by the shelter, she's compelled to adopt someone!
She has written stories all her life, but it wasn't until a few years ago she finally decided to pursue publication and was offered her first contract last year. Although, it took about four contract offers before she stopped thinking someone had made a terrible mistake. Samantha loves writing erotic romances because of the freedom in the genre to take the characters places mainstream romances won't allow. Though her stories are erotic in nature, they are at their core, love stories. As a self proclaimed romantic, she can't imagine writing anything else.
