“Here, with your son, is home. I don’t know why you tryna be away from Jerry and up my ass.” He snapped.
“Boy, I’m going there for school.” I sucked my teeth.
“I ain’t see you enroll in a class yet.”
“I’m waiting on my financial aid stuff FYI.”
“Yeah, ok. Just stay your ass down here until Sunday; I’ll holla at you.” He said, grabbing his bag.
I walked him outside and sat on the porch while he got in his rental and drove off. Sunday, I was going to have to return home and pretend that Jerecho and I didn’t spend a week together fucking and sucking on each other. I had to walk around like the love of my life didn’t exist because he was engaged to someone else.
“You are going to be in a whole lot of trouble.” My mother warned taking a seat on the porch.
“Ma, not today.” I waved her off.
“That man will never take you seriously, let alone settle down in a relationship with you.” She said.
“Ok Cleo, you just know everything.” I rolled my eyes at her.
“What I do know is that Jerry doesn’t deserve all of this. You put that little boy in a compromising position when you decided to lay down with a man that has a family.”
“Ma, don’t be acting like you’re a saint. You the one benefiting, getting a nice, hefty check just by keeping my little secret, so don’t call yourself tryna check me when you’re in the wrong yourself.” I snapped.
“I may be here raising your son and getting compensated to do so, but when your dirty laundry is thrown in your face, you the only one that has to sit there and deal with it. Not I. I’ll be here benefiting from that hefty check, sipping my tea, and waiting for you to come home so I can yell ‘I TOLD YOU SO’!” She smirked, grabbing a cigarette out of the box.
“Hand me one.” I said, reaching for a cancer stick and firing it up.
Smoking cigarettes was something I did when I didn’t have any weed. Since me and Jerecho smoked up everything, I was going to have to wait until later on tonight to cop some more. As I inhaled the smoke, I thought of everything my mother said. I knew shit was about to blow up soon. I just hoped in the end Tyreema would be smart enough to leave Jerecho.

Chapter 15
Sage
“What you think?” I asked, showing Saire a neckless I picked out for Naria.
Things between me and Naria were dope as fuck. We still weren’t officially in a relationship, because she still wasn’t ready, but as far as I was concerned, she belonged to me. The things I was doing to her, I better had been the only nigga doing it to her. I was wining, dining , and dicking her down properly, but my patience was starting to wear thin with her. but she was worth the wait.
Unlike any other bitches I was used to fucking with, Naria was cut from a different cloth. She was feisty as fuck and didn’t mind speaking her mind. Instead of agreeing with everything I said, she was able to form her own opinion and stand her ground. Plus, I didn’t have to worry about her wanting me for my money, because she had a booming business that brought her in enough bread to run a bakery.
“The pussy must be hella good if you buying her diamonds and shit.” Saire chuckled, inspecting the neckless.
“She ride a mean dick, I ain’t gon’ lie.” I smirked. “But on the real, I’m feeling chick.” I honestly said.
“Say it ain’t so; my little brother in love.” He scoffed.
“Not in love; more like deep-like.” I replied.
Naria did have me feeling things no other chick was able to, but I still wasn’t ready to slip up and say the “L” word yet. Especially if she wasn’t ready to be in a committed relationship.
“I’m proud of you, Lil’ Bro; you really growing up.”
“I had a great role model.” I replied, dapping my brother up.
Through it all, Saire had really been there for me. He risked a lot to make sure I had everything I needed, and I would forever be grateful to him for that. He could have easily left me behind for Lois to raise, but he decided to take on the fatherhood role even though he wasn’t prepared for the challenges he had to face.
“I’d like to chop it up with you, but I have to chill with Ty real quick.” My brother said, with a smile on his face.
Since him a Tyreema been talking, he’s been more relaxed. I loved the way he spoke highly of her, and how just a phone call had him cheesing all hard and shit, but he was still playing a dangerous game. Tyreema was engaged so the outcome of their little fling wouldn’t end too well.
“Be careful, bro. Niggas get crazy behind their baby mamas.” I warned him.
“I hear you, bro. It ain’t even that serious. It’s not like I’m smashing her or anything. We just enjoying each other’s company.” He said. “Plus, I sell guns for a living so my aim game is proper.”
“I hear you; just don’t get tripped up and fall in love.”
“We chillin’, bruh; calm down.” He waved me off. “Don’t slang too much dick around; you have a pick-up tomorrow.” He said, before walking out my door.
Looking down at my watch, I noticed that I had an hour to cook dinner and set up before Naria showed up. Since she closed a big deal today, I wanted to do something nice for her so we could celebrate together. I was on a mission to show Naria that I wasn’t like these other niggas she was used to messing with. I needed her to understand that my age had nothing to do with my level of maturity, and if given the opportunity, I could be the man she needed me to be.
Since I was pressed for time, I decided to make shrimp scampi, buttered corn on the cop and garlic knots. While the food was finishing up, I grabbed a bottle of Scarpetta Pinto Grigio and placed it in a bucket of ice. Walking to my bedroom, I spelled out Congratulations on the bed with rose petals, then trailed more rose petals to the tub where I would run her a nice bubble bath when it came time.
Just as I was pulling out the food from the oven and sitting it on the counter, the doorbell rang. I made sure my breath had no traces of garlic from the garlic knot I ate before walking to the door and opening it. Naria stood in the doorway dressed beautifully in a long, flow-y, floral-printed, wraparound dress.
“Hey beautiful.” I greeted her before placing a kiss on her lips.
“Did you cook for me?” She asked, walking in the house.
“Nah, I cooked for my other bitch. I was just heating you up some leftovers.” I joked causing her to playfully hit me on the chest.
“Don’t play with me.” She playfully rolled her eyes.
“Nah, but baby, I just wanted to do a lil’ something just to show you how proud I am of you.”
“Thank you.” She blushed.
“You hungry?” I asked, rubbing her small belly, thinking how it would be if I blew her up.
“Starving.”
“Let’s eat then.” I said, pulling out her chair.
Once she was seated, I grabbed a single red rose and handed it to her. Walking towards the counter, I arranged some shrimp scampi, corn, and garlic knots on her plate before placing it in front of her. I then did the same for myself and took my seat.
“For you to be a kid, you sure know how to treat a lady.” She giggled, taking a sip of her wine.
“This dick ain’t a kid when I be having your ass running from it.” I shot at her.
“Boy, please; your dick older than your young ass.” She shot back, causing me to crack up.
“You play too much, wit’cho fat ass.”
“I know this ass is fat, and you like it too.”
“That I do.” I winked.
While finishing up dinner, we d
iscussed her new business deal and how excited she was about it. Her ultimate goal was to open up a few physical boutiques, and with the way Saire was always in my ear about investing my money, I had no problem helping her out. Naria was smart and determined, so I know any money I invested into her wouldn’t go in vain.
“I got something else for you.” I said getting up.
“More food?” Her eyes lit up.
“Damn, your ass eat more than me.”
“Food is the way to my heart.” She replied.
“Then, I know you’re going to love this.” I said, walking into the kitchen.
I returned with a strawberry crunch cake that had the words ‘congrats’ written in strawberry syrup on it. From numerous dates, I learned that Naria loved strawberries so when I saw this cake on Facebook I contacted the baker immediately to place the order.
“I could kiss you right now.” She squealed licking her lips.
“Come kiss me then.”
“After I fuck up this cake.”
I watched as Naria cut a hefty slice of cake and devour it. The way she sucked the cream from her fingers had me ready to put my dick in her mouth. Everything about Naria was sexy, so it was hard to keep my hands off of her when she was around me.
“Let me go handle something real quick while you make love to your cake.” I said, walking towards the master bathroom.
I filled my oversized heart shaped Jacuzzi tub with warm water, filling it with Sake Bath foaming wash, something the sales lady from Macy’s highly recommended. The scent of the bubbles instantly filled the bathroom making my mouth water in anticipation. Dropping a few rose petals in the bath, I dimmed the lights and lit a few stress-relief candles.
After making sure Naria’s bath was perfect, I went back to the dining room so that I could strip her naked and place her in the tub.
“This cake was oh my gosh good.” She moaned.
“Damn, look like you ain’t leave me none.” I joked.
“My bad; shit, you walked out. I thought you ain’t want none.”
“You good.” I replied.
“Is this the part where I strip naked and give you this twat.” She asked, licking her lips.
“Not yet, I got more tricks up my sleeves.”
“Oh, really?”
“Yes, now bring your ass on so I can show you.”
Pulling her chair out, I placed my hand on the small of her back as I walked her towards the room. Her mouth formed an ‘O’ as she looked around at all the rose petals. She gave me that ‘no you didn’t look’ the moment her eyes fell on the neckless I purchased her.
“You showing out!” She squealed, rushing towards the bed.
She picked up the neckless, and her eyes gleamed as she fingered the diamonds.
“I’ll take that as a compliment, but I ain’t done yet.” I smirked. “Follow me.” I said, leading her to the bathroom.
I walked over to her and helped her out of her dress and undergarments before lifting her body and placing it in the tub. Taking a seat next to her, I gazed into her beautiful eyes and wondered if Saire was right about me being in love with her. I knew I was still young, but I did have my fair share of women, and none of them had me hitting up my big brother for advice on being romantic.
“Thank you.” She whispered.
“You’re welcome, Ma. I’m just trying to show you that I ain’t like them other niggas.”
“That’s how it starts off, though; first you wine and dine me, treat me like a queen, then once I get comfortable, you start fucking up. It never fails.” She sadly said.
“I ain’t going to lie and say I may never do anything to make you mad; I’m human. I can promise that I will never stop treating you like the queen you truly are. I respect you too much to play you like you some hoe.” I honestly said.
“We’ll see.” was her only response. I wanted to scream, but then I remembered if you really want something, then you’ll wait for it.
I handed her the stereo remote and left the bathroom so she could enjoy the jets from the tub in peace. I was in the kitchen cleaning up the mess I made when Naria’s phone kept going off. At first, I ignored it, but when the person couldn’t reach her by phone, they started blowing up her notifications with text messages.
When her phone started ringing off the hook, I walked over to it to see who was calling. The number wasn’t saved, so I left it alone until the call ended and the home screen was back on display. The person that had been trying so hard to reach Naria was now blowing up her text messages again.
Curiosity got the best of me, so I slid my phone, lucking up when I realize she didn’t have a passcode on it. I went to the text message icon and revealed some shit I wasn’t ready for. Naria had about three niggas including me on rotations. She had niggas begging for dates, a taste of her pussy, and even to come meet their mama.
I wasn’t a stranger to running game, but Naria had the game on lock. One message in particular stood out to me. Yesterday, I wanted to chill with her, but she claimed she was having lunch with her mother. In reality, this nigga took her ass on a shopping spree and was checking in on her to make sure she had everything she wanted.
This shit had me seeing red. Here I was, damn near begging this bitch to give me a shot, and she was out here playing me for a fool. The fact that I stepped out of my comfort zone for her only for her to play my ass had me ready to pull this bitch out my tub and kick her the fuck out my house.
“NARIA!” I yelled, storming in the bathroom with the phone still in my hand.
“What’s good, baby?” She asked, looking up at me.
“Why you ain’t tell me you was just playing me? That way, I could have at least kept a few of my hoes!” I spat.
“What are you talking about?” She asked, causing me to boil with anger.
“The fuck that you got me and a few niggas on rotation like you a DJ in the club. How you manage to fuck with all of us? What? You got a calendar or some shit on your wall? What? You just pencil me in when that nigga that took you on a shopping trip ain’t free?” I asked, causing her eyes to widen in shock.
“You ain’t nothing but a hoe, and to think I was really serious about your hoe ass!” I spat.
“Wait a fucking minute; you ain’t about to disrespect me calling me out my name and shit!” She snapped.
“Oh, you want respect? You sit here and holler about how niggas ain’t shit, but you the one that ain’t shit! Where the fuck was my respect when you was out here fucking around with all these niggas?”
“But we ain’t together though.” She argued.
“We ain’t together?” I chuckled. “You the same bitch that got mad at me because a bitch I used to fuck with texted me ‘I miss you’ but now you wanna pull that we ain’t together card. Yeah, ok. Get dressed and get the fuck out my shit before I throw your ass out.” I snapped, tossing her phone in the toilette.
I stormed out of the bathroom and headed to my man cave. I needed to be away from her ass. Saire always taught me only cowards hit women, but the way she had me feeling, I was ten seconds away from knocking her ass out. Grabbing my weed box, I chuckled at the way Naria played me. This bitch had the game down pack… got all these niggas, me included, eating out the palm of her hand.
“Sage, let me just explain.” Naria said, appearing in the doorway.
“Explain what? We not together, right?” I said with my back towards her.
I didn’t want her to see the hurt on my face, so I acted as if I was looking out the window.
“Get the fuck out my house!” I yelled.
I listened as her footsteps walked through my house. I then heard a bunch of glass breaking followed by the slamming of my front door. I laughed as I watched her crazy ass walk to her car stopping to flip me the bird before she got in. I was the one getting played, but she had the nerve to want to get mad and break my shit.
Chapter 16
Tyreema
&
nbsp; “Who the fuck is Sasha?” Jerecho asked, causing my heart to drop in the pit of my stomach. “Ty, you don’t hear me talking to you?!” He asked.
“Hold on, Tyreek, baby. What did you say, bae? Tyreek over here making a mess.” I called out.
“I said who the fuck is Sasha. She texting you and shit?” He said, with my phone in his hand.
“Mm, I didn’t want to tell you this, but I designed a book cover and posted it in a few reading groups. Sasha is an author who is interested in me designing her cover.” I replied sounding unsure of my lie.
I never had to lie to Jerecho, but talking to Saire had me lying like crazy.
“Unlock your phone. Why the fuck you changed the passcode?” He asked grilling me.
“Tyreek was getting in my phone messing stuff up trying to play games.” I lied. “The code is 4556.” I said, praying Saire didn’t text me anything crazy.
“Ty, I have tenant that writes books. I showed her your work, and she’s interested in working with you. Let me know if you’re down.” He read the text to me, causing me to let go of the breath I was desperately holding on to. I didn’t have to worry about him reading anything else, because everything else was deleted.
“Ty so you really going behind my back to do this shit?” Jerecho asked.
“I wasn’t going behind your back; I was just playing around with the programs.” I replied.
“You need to be worrying about raising your son. I swear, everyone be having him but you.” He spat.
“Really, Jerecho? Don’t do that. I have never neglected my responsibilities as a mother.”
“Yeah, you just can’t seem to sit your ass home. Matter fact, fuck that shit. You ain’t going out tonight!” He yelled.
“You know I’m supposed to go out with Naria to help her celebrate her new business deal.” I argued.
“I don’t give a fuck! Like I said, tonight, you ain’t going anywhere. You need to sit your ass home and tuck your son in tonight.” He replied, grabbing his car keys.
“How you on me about being home to tuck my son in at night when you’re barely here to do it!” I snapped, causing him to smack me in the mouth.
