The door barely shut and Vex had Alea’s back against the wall. She gasped, a question about to be asked didn’t make it past the crashing of his lips against hers. Their tongues dueled and his hand found its way under her short skirt.

He could feel the softness of her feminine mound through her heavy knit stockings as his hand cupped her. Felt the lips of her sex part as his fingers began a slow massage of her heat. She was all in as her fingers dug into the back of his skull to hold him tightly to her.

Hooking his thumbs inside her elastic waistband, he peeled the hosiery and panties from her legs in one smooth slide until he got hung up on her boots. His hands shook with urgency as he fumbled with peeling them off her feet.

Once all that was gone, all that kept him from viewing her hot center was that plaid skirt. Lifting the hem, her sweet spot was revealed to him.

He licked his lips contemplating his next move. He could tongue her, but he was way too hungry for that. Much too greedy for something as simple as a taste. He wanted more. He wanted all of her. To bury his cock to the root deep inside that slick tunnel of hers.

He hadn’t a clue how long he stayed on his knees staring at the juncture of her thighs, admiring her pretty slit until she began to squirm under his red gaze.

Standing, he tossed her over his shoulder, carrying her petite form caveman style into the bedroom.

Alea giggled until he laid her out on the edge of the bed and unfastened his pants.

His angry cock jutted out from his body. Alea reached a hand towards him and touched the scalding, red tip of his sex. He hissed at her and grabbed her wrist, pulling her hand away.

She had always been enthralled with his cock, but he needed to be sure she still wanted his bizarre phallus inside of her.

“You still want me like this?” he groaned out.

Alea undulated on the bed and that was all the answer he needed. He pushed his pants off his hips, not bothering to undress them any further.

Her skirt fell to her waist as he lifted her hips from the bed to meet his sex. Jutting straight out from his body, his cock was laden with so much lust, it hung heavy from his hips. A bend of his knees and angling her hips down was all that was needed to join his flesh with hers.

Running the blunt pointed head of his cock between the lips of her glistening sex had them both moaning.

He pushed inside, the tip of him disappearing into her silky heat. Pulling free, he did it again, and again, loving the look and feel of her intimate lips clinging around him in a delirious suckle.

Alea was so wet now, her outer lips slick with need.

There was a pounding urgency at the head of his cock. No more playing or he was going to be finished before he’d even got started.

Slowly, he pushed the point of himself back in, going deeper than he had before. With every withdrawal, he pushed a little farther into her body. Inch by inch, penetrating her as he kept watch on her expression to make sure he wasn’t hurting her. She was so tight, and his cock only got broader as it reached the base.

Her head was thrown back. Her mouth open as she moaned with each careful thrust. Her legs began to tremble as he pushed more of himself inside of her.

He was only at the halfway point, and she was already stretched so tight her lush sex was distorted around his girth, he couldn’t imagine anymore would fit inside without doing some damage.

As if she read his concern, she rotated her hips seeking more, so he gave it to her. As her thighs tightened in his hands, he paused until she began to move again. Hungry as she rolled her hips in his huge palms. The friction she created was incredible. He needed more of that. Getting with the program, he growled at her and began to rock his hips in earnest, but still withheld the thickest part of his shaft.

She met his thrusts, growing wetter and it wasn’t long before she clenched up tight, her inner muscles gripping and releasing him as if small hands were trying to milk the semen from his body.

Overwhelmed with sensation, he seated himself fully. Her added lubrication gliding him the rest of the way in. Fully engulfed inside her silky sheath was like nothing he could have prepared himself for. She was so tight, so soft, and so wet, he never wanted this moment to end. His balls had other plans. Clenched up tight against his body, the exquisite pain of an approaching orgasm forced him to pump his hips.

Slow and deliberate at first, Alea’s moans pushed him past the edge of sanity. Thrusting into her hard a few times, he spun her around and up onto all fours. Grabbing her around the hips, he lifted her knees off the bed, slamming his cock into her from behind.

Her palms planted on the mattress, he stopped thrusting his hips and used her body to stroke them both towards completion, her legs hanging useless to the sides, swayed back and forth with her motions.

The end of his cock exploded. Hot jets shot into her as her body responded to his, squeezing him in a tight rhythmic grip.

So engrossed in the pleasure her body was giving him, he had a vague notion of his cell phone buzzing against his thigh inside the pocket of his jeans.

Alea dropped her head. Resting her forehead against the mattress, the lower half of her body remained elevated in Vex’s strong hands. Her legs lax, dangled in the air above the floor.

They both were breathing heavy, taking a moment to gather their wits after the maelstrom of sexual energy they’d just burned off.

If she’d known he was planning to attack her as soon as the door slammed shut, she wouldn’t have tarried so long at the grand opening.

Vex’s pocket let out another muffled buzzing.

With a curse, her demon laid her gently on the bed before digging out the device that was determined to interrupt the blissful aftermath of their first time together.

“This had better be important, Gales,” Vex bitched, holding the cell between his shoulder and ear as he tugged his jeans back into place.

As he became very still, a cold draft blew through as if the Grim Reaper himself had sucked all of the warmth of their passion out of the room. His inner firestorm suddenly doused, the heat from Vex’s skin turned pale.

  Something horrific had happened.

An urgency to get dressed had her rushing to the closet for a change of clothes as Vex finished his call.

Pulling on the jeans she rarely wore, Vex’s features dropped into a grim line. Not that he was ever a party to begin with, but this look was downright chilling.

Swallowing hard, she was tempted not to ask. “What’s wrong?”

“That was Tegan.” His voice was colder than an empty grave.

Her hands flew up to cover her mouth as tears flooded her eyes.

“The bikers I told you about attacked Jason and Evana at her apartment. Jason’s hurt and she’s missing.”

“Is he…alright?” Dread was a tangible thing that hung heavy around her shoulders.

“I don’t know for sure. Tegan’s with him in the ambulance. I need to get Sevin in that apartment before the police get there so he can pick up a scent. The Satan’s Disciples will kill Evana if we don’t get to her fast.”

She didn’t know that much about Evana, having only just recently met the woman, but Jason loved her and that’s all that mattered. He was her first human friend and if there was something she could do to help, then she was totally onboard.

As the two left the apartment in a rush, they flew past the elevator and hauled ass down the stairs to the sidewalk. As she hailed a cab, Vex called Lucian instructing him to get Sevin to that apartment as fast as possible. Although, it might already be too late for any of them to gain access if the police had already taped it off as a crime scene.

Sliding into the back of the cab that swung out of traffic to meet them at the curb, Vex cursed and flashed her his cell so she could read the text from Lucian.

They were having to wait for the police to vacate before Sevin could sneak in to cop a scent and start tracking the one’s that had grabbed Evana. That would take time the human might not have.

Lennox Hill Hospital came into view. It looked to be a popular destination as one ambulance pulled in behind another under the awning over the emergency room doors.

Stopping short of the bustling entrance, she and the demon ditched the cab and found their way inside and over to the information desk where they were told Jason had been wheeled directly into a room and was already being worked on. There was nothing for them to do except for a whole bunch of waiting.

Going by the amount of people packed into the ER’s waiting area, it was going to be a long night which gave her way too much free time to think about all that she could be doing to help Jason’s injuries if she could only get back there to be with him.

It was standing room only, so they hovered in a corner on the periphery of the crowd that was parked in every available seat.

Vex was so large, he commanded attention whether he wanted it or not and despite the unwanted curiosity of strangers’ stares, she’d never liked being in places where sick people gathered. The air in the place was saturated with that chemical stench that always reminded her she was in a disease rich environment.

Someone coughed and another sneezed adding to the drone of hushed talk.

Multiple TV’s, a whisper above mute, displayed a wide range of shows from cartoons to news broadcasts, none of which seemed to be of much interest to anyone.

Sidling up closer to Vex, he wrapped a protective arm around her, but the shelter he offered was a false sense of security. As big as her demon was, he would never be strong enough to fight off her microscopic enemies and flu season was out in full force. She’d gotten lucky the first go around with the virus, but the next mutation, she might not be as fortunate.

The automatic doors parted letting in a puff of cold air before clapping back shut after the blonde sisters she’d met at the grand opening walked in. Their troubled eyes scanning the tightly packed lobby until their gazes locked on Vex and then herself.

She marveled at how similar in appearance they were to not be twins as they made their way over feeling a common bond with them.

“Any news,” the one with straight blonde hair inquired.

Lexi, she thought was the girl’s name.

The other one was Tegan’s wife, Rayna, and a tattoo artist at Exotic Ink. She was her favorite of the two.

Both of them seemed sweet and were so perfect in their doll-like beauty, but Rayna was more approachable as she was all natural while the other sister seemed to be compensating for something. Every hair in place, her makeup and French manicure were flawless.

“Nothing yet.” Vex did the answering.

The girl’s nodded and huddled closer to her demon. She didn’t blame them for stepping in closer, he made an ideal bodyguard.

Gabriel came in alone. The human equivalent of Sevin, she’d instantly taken a liking to him when she’d first met him earlier today as Vex’s client.

He and the shifter had been dick tossing all evening over, Dylan, the owner of Wicked Brews. As comical as it was to watch all the male posturing, she got the distinct impression that Gabriel and Dylan were already an item. A behind-closed-door-relationship, but those two had a chemistry that radiated sex.

“Tegan texted me,” Gabriel said to their group. “Please tell me they found Evana and that Jason’s still breathing.”

“We don’t know anything more than you do,” Lexi informed him. Her voice so sad it made Alea’s eyes tear up. “Tegan is still back with Jason, and the police are still looking over Evana’s apartment.”

Gabriel offered Lexi a hug and the blonde didn’t waste a moment rushing into his arms. He was so much like Sevin, aside from the shared mohawk hairstyle, they had the same lovable disposition. She hoped one day to see them as friends. From what she knew of Sevin, he had so few.

Avie and Cale were soon to follow Gabriel. It was a comfort of sorts to have one of her own kind there. The shock of her vibrant peach hair adding a brightness to the otherwise gloomy hospital interior as Cale led her over to where their ever growing group hung in a loose circle. Each of their faces mirroring the other with the same sad smile as they stood together in shocked disbelief.

The other fairy’s eyes were bouncing all over the place as she clung to her husband’s hand, no more thrilled about being closed up inside the petri dish as Alea was. The female looked more afraid than she’d ever seen her. Her momentary comfort collided with her fear as she pondered the implications of Avie’s compromised existence. Her lifespan cut short from healing Cale on a regular basis might make her more susceptible to any new microscopic enemies.

She broke away from Vex to pull Avie into a hug as soon as she got within range. “Are you sure it’s safe for you to be in here?” she spoke close to her ear.

“Not any safer than it is for you,” Avie replied back in the same hushed whisper.

Pulling back, they returned to the haven of their male’s arms. That answer didn’t make her feel any better about where they were at.

Now that she was seeing Avie in the pool of light thrown by the overhead fluorescent bulbs instead of the muted lights of the microbrewery, there were fine lines marking the corners of her eyes. Those had not been there when she’d met her for coffee a few months ago.

Callie was the last to show with her super-model boyfriend. Lucian had all but drooled over the man at the grand opening. It was such a surprise when she’d learned from Vex that the angel idolized the man. I mean, he was handsome for a human, but Lucian was positively flawless. A prime example of how much different people’s perspectives could be.

Just like her first reaction to Callie. The curvy redhead had a body that she’d always envied. Lucky for her, she was slim and petite or Vex wouldn’t have given her the time of day. Funny how jealousy could cloud one’s judgement.

Looking at the girl now as she swiped away one tear and then another beneath her big, hazel eyes as she spoke with everyone in their group, she felt bad over her misplaced jealousy as she’d all but snubbed the woman at the grand opening. Once this mess was all sorted out, she was going to make it a point to make amends with the woman.

Just looking at Callie’s body language, it was clear she was solely interested in the man she was with. Besides, after what Vex had done to her tonight, it was abundantly clear he’d more than approved of her petite form and held no interest in the curvy redhead.

She could still feel him between her thighs, could still feel the hot jets of his completion shooting into her like streams of lava that had bathed her inside. And, he’d filled her full.

She wanted more of that. More of him. And, she couldn’t wait to get him back into bed.

“Dr. Malone, please dial 2365. Dr. Malone, please dial 2365.” The disembodied voice that went out through the speakers embedded at regular intervals in the ceiling reminded her that this was not an appropriate time or place to be thinking about Vex’s cock.

Shifting her stance, the remnants of their love making had settled into a wet spot on the cotton liner of her panties. The leftovers laying against her sex now as frigid as death.

Goddamn, she hoped that wasn’t going to be the theme for tonight.

What a bizarre night this had been. Swinging wildly from the hottest passion to the worst of circumstances, and barely an hour had passed. And in that short time, she’d had sex with Vex for the first time, barely given a moment to linger in the blissful aftermath before Jason and Evana had been attacked. Now here they were, standing inside the one place she avoided like the plague.

All the drama was almost too much to process at once. Her mind was still running to catch up with the tangle of major events that had happened. Now all this unnatural calm after the storm seemed worse than all the craziness.

Just as she was beginning to think they would wait in limbo forever, a set of double doors swung open and out walked Tegan. The front of his shirt was smudged with blood, she had to assume it belonged to Jason.

“They took him back to have an MRI,” Tegan said as
he came over to the group. “The nurse said she would come and get me once the scan was done and looked over by the doc.”

Bombarded with endless questions from the group, Tegan’s words about Jason’s condition turned her legs to rubber. Her new friend had a head and neck injury and remained unconscious.

As they waited for the nurse, time passed at an alarmingly slow rate. Every sluggish minute drug out to what felt like the length of an hour.

Vex’s cell buzzed in his hand. He held the device at an angle so she could read it and not alert the others standing around them as to what Sevin and Lucian were up to.

She squeezed his hand that was cupping her waist at the bit of good news.

The police were done and had packed up to leave. Sevin was going to get his chance very soon to get in there and sniff around. With any luck, Evana would soon be found.

  Hopefully, alive.

A dark haired nurse in pink scrubs made her way over to Tegan. No one breathed as she explained what little she could.

Jason was being moved to the ICU. His only family lived out west and because of HIPAA, she was reluctant to give out any information above where he was being moved to in the hospital to anyone that wasn’t of blood relation.

“I’m his sister,” Alea blurted out.

Tegan looked startled but recovered quickly and nodded his head. The others jumped on board with her lie and before she knew it, she was being given directions to the ICU ward and where she needed to check in to see her “brother”.

The entire group followed her and Vex as they navigated the maze of corridors into the main part of the hospital and up to ICU on the third floor.

With a promise to update the rest of the group as soon as she could, Vex hugged her before she picked up the phone outside of the closed door to the ICU and announced her arrival to the nurse on the other end of the line.

The door popped opened with a whoosh like an airtight seal had been broken, and the hall that would take her to Jason was revealed before her. It was nothing special, just an extension of the same boring linoleum and neutral painted walls as where she currently stood.
