“Yeah. Guess so.”
“You up for another tomorrow?” he asked, leaning forward. “We have a shipment coming in tonight. I’ll have packages ready for delivery tomorrow.”
“Yeah. I need to get my bike out of impound somehow.”
I stood up from the chair, not liking the vibe I was feeling from him. I wasn’t worried about having a ride. I had another bike, a bit older, but still in prime shape in my garage. Another run would be fine, and it would get my mind off the cute little nurse I dropped off that morning. Because thinking about her would only cause me trouble. And the static in the air of Joker’s office told me I had enough trouble at the moment.
I left him to get back to whatever the fuck he was doing and headed into the clubhouse. I was a patched member, but I didn’t hold any sort of special office. Whatever Joker was up to wouldn’t be easy to find out. I was just a courier for the club.
However, without assholes like me, their drug and gun shipments wouldn’t get to where they were going. Most times I had a team with me; we traveled in a small pack for safety and to get larger shipments delivered. The last run had been small. A special order that I didn’t need to know who the buyer was or who was picking up the package. I was supposed to drop it off at the specified location and leave. No cash would change hands.
I liked staying out of the specifics. It kept my mind at ease. When I started knowing details my brain went right back into marine mode. I wanted to know all the details, figure out all the plans, and have backup plans to get my ass out of trouble if I encountered it. But doing that also brought back shit I didn’t need. Nightmares, memories – all shit that was better off buried deep, never to see the light of day again.
The clubhouse already had members milling around playing pool, drinking at the bar. A few prospects hung out acting as servers for the afternoon.
“Hey, Noah.” Jude motions to me from his game of darts.
I nod a greeting to a few other members and grab his hand in greeting. “Hey.”
“You okay? Heard you got busted up real good.” Jude looked me up and down. I’d stopped at my house to put on some real clothes.
“Yeah, just some bruised ribs and this fucking gash.” I lifted my arm, displaying the bandage wrapped around my forearm. I’d taken it off before I showered. Nasty fucking wound, but I wrapped it back up nice and pretty afterward.
“The bike?”
“Impounded, but I hear it’s totaled.” I leaned against the high top table and watched him throw a few darts.
“Ouch. Need help getting it out?” Jude was always up for some trouble.
“Nah. I’m gonna let it cool for a bit then claim it. Right now, I’m headed over to switch a truck for a bike.” I watched the guys in the room. No one seemed interested in our conversation, but I lowered my voice just to be sure. “So, uh, any idea if Joker is the one who found my stash? It was taken from my saddlebags before the cops showed.”
Jude stepped back from his dart stance and shook his head. “No. I don’t think so. All I’ve heard is that he’s been locked up in that fucking office more and more. I heard Tommy yelling at him the other day about bringing something to the table. No meeting was called.” He shrugged. “As long as my money keeps flowing, and I got a room to crash in, I don’t give a fuck what they do with that gavel.” He smirked.
I nodded. “Yeah.” If the VP was getting pissy with Joker, though, that usually meant a storm was brewing. Joker and Tommy were old friends, and it wasn’t like them to not see eye to eye on things.
I slapped Jude’s shoulder. “I’m out. We can’t all fuck around the clubhouse all day.” I dodged his attempt at a smack and walked away chuckling. Jude was a good guy. A bit of an outsider, even for a patch member, but he could be counted on. And after the years I spent in Afghanistan, that meant a hell of a lot.
Chapter Five
Shannon
“Shannon, you really need to see the doctor.” Tracy bugged me for the fifth time since coming over to my house. I’d called in sick after Noah dropped me at home, but today was my day off. And Tracy was ruining my plans of cleaning every inch of the place until I stopped thinking about him.
“What for? I’m fine.” I picked up the rag from the coffee table and dropped it in the laundry basket.
“What about the police? Did they have anything to say about who he was? I mean, do you have to worry about him coming back?”
Wouldn’t that be amazing?
“No.” I picked up the basket and headed to the laundry room.
She followed close at my heels. “Are you going to tell me what the hell happened?” she demanded.
I sighed. “I already told you, Tracy. He had me hide out with him for the night and then let me go in the morning once he was sure no one was following us.”
She folded her arms over her chest.
Ignoring her disbelieving expression, I opened the washer and bent down to grab some of the dirty clothes from the basket. Her sharp intake of breath told me the shorts I wore hadn’t covered the bruises.
“Holy fuck, Shannon.” She pushed me against the washer and pulled the legs of my shorts up higher.
I hissed and pushed her off. They looked much nastier than they felt, but when too much pressure was applied, I still felt the pain. Sometimes I found myself pressing down hard on my ass to find the sweet reminder that he’d been there. He’d done that to me.
“What happened?” Her voice rose with the question.
“Nothing. I mean, it was nothing. I’m fine. It’s all over with, and I want to forget it. Okay?” I emptied the laundry into the washer and spun the dial. “Please, Tracy. Just forget about it.”
She narrowed her eyes at me. “Did he rape you?” Her question came out low and soft.
“No. He absolutely did not.” I gripped the basket. He’d fucked me four times in the short time we were together, but not a single kiss, thrust, or bite was unwanted.
“You know he’s a runner for the Death Angels. I heard the cops talking about it when they came by the unit to ask questions.” Tracy looked at me with more concern.
“I don’t know anything about him, Tracy. He wasn’t cruel, he didn’t really hurt me, and he let me go.” I hugged the basket. “He didn’t tell me anything about what he does for the club, and I didn’t ask.”
“I guess that’s smart.” Tracy followed me to the kitchen. “Did he bring you home? Does he know where you live?”
I opened the fridge and laughed. “Don’t worry about any of that. I’m sure he can handle himself fine. And I just want to forget about it. They recovered the ambulance, right? No damage? Nothing missing?”
Aside from the one little bottle of sedative.
“I’m pretty sure that’s not the point. I don’t think you can return what you stole and say it’s forgiven.” Tracy sat at my kitchen table.
“Why don’t we see a movie today?” I suggested, sliding my phone onto the table. She’d been great and brought my bag and phone with her.
“You’re avoiding.”
“I’m coping. Now distraction is all I want.” I tapped the phone. “Pull up the listing and find something while I shower off the stank from my cleaning spree.”
I left her there fiddling with my phone and got into the heated shower. The water felt good on my tight muscles. Ever since Noah drove away yesterday, leaving me with nothing but an ache to be touched by him again, I’d been tight. My hands roamed my wet, naked body, pretending it was his touch, his hands kneading my breasts and plucking at my nipples.
Going lower, I ran my fingers through my folds, finding the right angle to push two fingers inside of me, and still have the heel of my hand pressing on my clit.
That’s a good girl. I could almost hear him.
“Yes, sir,” I whispered into the water. “I want to come. Please, sir,” I begged, knowing I was alone in the room, but I needed to ask, needed to get permission.
Such a good girl.
“Please.”
Come fo
r me.
I cried out, snapping my mouth shut to muffle the sound as my body sang to his tune. My orgasm was intense and cleansing. I pressed my head against the shower wall, letting the water run over my face, down my body, and slipped my fingers out of my passage. Without thinking, I licked my own juices from my fingers, still pretending he was there, coaxing me on, calling me his dirty girl.
I groaned. I really needed to get over him.
“Thank you, sir,” I whispered and turned off the water.
I was hopeless.
Chapter Six
Noah
Six weeks later…
“Joker, I’m telling you this guy wasn’t just some random asshole. He knew what I had on me.” Jude took a pull of his beer and slammed it on the table.
I’d been listening to this conversation for almost an hour already. Jude had been driven off the road – the same way I had been six weeks ago – but he hadn’t taken a spill like me. He’d managed to have enough control over his bike that he could pull.
“I already told you not to worry about it,” Joker said with a pointed finger.
I looked around for the waitress. I needed another fucking beer. Joker wasn’t listening, or maybe he just didn’t fucking care that these little care packages weren’t being delivered.
“Don’t worry about this asshole with his shark emblem and vigilante gun slinging?” Jude had a way of talking that entertained me.
Joker leaned forward again. “Yeah. Don’t worry about him. We’ll find him and take care of it. Just be ready to do another run soon.”
“Aren’t the guys who are supposed to be getting these packages getting pissed?” I asked, finally flagging down the waitress.
We should have just gone back to the clubhouse instead of stopping in town for a drink. The woman looked like a deer in the headlights heading over to us, like we were going to throw her over the table and take turns with her. Maybe if she were willing… Who the fuck was I kidding? I hadn’t touched a woman since dropping my nurse at home. And it was really starting to piss me off.
I’d tried, but when it came down to it, I paid for their drink, kissed them and sent them on their way. I tried telling myself it was this shark getting under my skin. Stressing me out. But hooking up with a woman who took a good belting and hard fuck was the best stress relief I knew of.
“I’ve got it handled on that end, don’t worry.” Joker waved off the question and called for another beer.
The waitress nodded and went back behind the bar.
The door to the bar opened, letting in some of the light from the early evening inside. I looked over to see who was walking in, always alert to my settings.
Shannon.
My nurse stepped inside, pushing a pair of sunglasses up to rest on the top of her head. The thick-rimmed glasses must have been replaced with contacts. Holy fuck was she prettier than my memory. She’d let her hair down, short curls bobbed at her shoulders. And the scrubs had been swapped out for a pair of short cut offs and a red tank top.
My cock hardened just looking at her.
She wasn’t alone.
Another woman passed her and made it to the bar first. “I’ll have a whiskey sour. What about you, Shannon?”
“Uh, just a Coke.” Shannon’s hand went to her back pocket and pulled out some bills.
“Put it on our tab,” I called over to the bartender and stood up from my chair.
Shannon’s attention snapped to me. Her lips parted, and if I was seeing things correctly, her chest puffed up. Her friend, though, when she got a look at me, narrowed her eyes.
“That’s him, isn’t it?” she asked, marching away from the bar and charging right at me.
I braced myself but didn’t need to. In the end, Shannon caught her arm.
“Tracy, just leave it.”
“You’re the prick that kidnapped her.” Tracy wiggled free of Shannon’s grasp and poked a finger into the name patch on my colors. I looked down at her finger. Men have had their fingers broken for less.
“What’s this?” Jude asked, standing up behind me. “You kidnapped one of these beauties and didn’t call me?”
“Zip it, Jude,” Joker said from his chair.
“I saw the marks. They took over a week to start fading. I wanted her to go to the cops.” Tracy kept railing at me. I wasn’t looking at her anymore though. My eyes were zeroed in on Shannon. I’d forgotten how good she looked with a fresh blush on her cheeks.
“Are you okay?” I asked her, ignoring her friend.
“I’m fine,” she replied and pulled on Tracy again. “C’mon, let’s just get our drinks.”
“Why don’t you girls join us?” Jude suggested, motioning to the extra chairs.
“No. That’s okay. Thanks.” Shannon blinked then looked away. “I just want to sit over there.”
“You really hurt her. You ass.” Tracy poked me one more time then turned around. “Fine, Shannon. Let’s just get away from them.”
“Now don’t get all salty with all of us just coz Noah’s an asshole.” Jude walked behind them as they made their way to the bar.
I retook my seat, weighing my options. I wanted to talk to her. Make sure she was actually okay. It had been the first time she’d ever been spanked, and I hadn’t gone easy on her. But something was different. Something was off. I needed to watch her first.
“That your nurse nightingale?” Joker asked, finishing off his beer.
I looked at him, seeing the interest lurking in his eyes and nodded. “Yeah. That’s her. My nightingale.” I knew how his mind worked. If I didn’t make it clear she belonged to me, he would try moving in on her. And Joker was less of a gentleman than I was.
He put his hands up in the air. “Hey, fine by me. I got my own old lady at home.” He picked up his phone. “And she’s due for a good fucking.”
“Better get to it then I guess.” I picked up my beer and did my best to look uninterested. I didn’t like the way he kept glancing over at Shannon. He needed to get gone.
Joker threw down a five-dollar bill on the table and took off. He slapped Jude hard on the ass on his way out, laughing to himself as he exited the bar.
I watched Shannon sip her Coke, noting how her breasts looked bigger, swollen almost since I last saw her. Maybe my mind was fucking with me.
She got off her stool and headed to the washrooms, and I made my move. Standing outside the ladies’ room, I leaned against the wall. When she came out, she gasped out of surprise. But not fear. No. No matter what had happened between us that night we shared, she would never truly be scared of me.
“You can’t avoid me forever,” I said with a smile.
She tried to step around me, but I threw my foot up against the wall, trapping her with me in the narrow hallway.
“Noah, let me pass,” she said with a fire that got my cock even harder. This woman just did it for me. When she was mad, happy, orgasmic – every bit of her made me want more. She was like a goddamn drug.
“Not just yet,” I said. “How are you doing? For real this time, no bullshit. Were you marked that badly?”
Her eyes found mine, and she sighed. “I had some welts and a few bruises, but they’re all okay now.” She maintained eye contact, but her fists told me she struggled to do so.
“I want to see,” I told her, pointing toward the bathroom.
“No.” She shook her head.
“No?” I laughed. “I thought we had cleared up that topic. You don’t tell me no.”
She thrust her chin up but finally broke the stare. Her eyes traveled down to my neck, and her jaw dropped.
“That’s my necklace!” She reached for the medallion I had around my neck.
I snatched her hand and held it over her head, backing her up until her back was pressed against the wall. “Yeah, it is. I found it in the truck.”
“Give it back to me,” she snarled out.
Damn, she was hot when she was riled.
“Is it special?”
> “Just give it back.”
I laughed. Were we back on the playground in kindergarten? “Yeah, you can have it back, but first you answer some questions. First, is it special?”
She huffed. “My grandmother gave it to me, so yeah.”
“Fair enough. See, that wasn’t so hard. You don’t have to go misbehaving and earning yourself another whooping.”
“You won’t touch me,” she said with a shaky voice.
I stared down at her, letting my nose come close to touching hers. “You want me to. You want me to bend you over my knee and give you a spanking. To bring that fire back up to full burn. Don’t you?”
