Piper's Journey (Into Submission 1)

  "I love you," Jeoff whispered, looking into her tired eyes, still red from weeping.

  Piper offered a weary smirk. "I love you, too. That was incredible."

  "Mmm," Jeoff agreed, his spent cock sliding from her. "Let's take a bath and go to bed. I might want to break my post-punishment rules once more."

  "I like when you break the rules."

  "I am sure you do. Here is another," he said, reaching into his dresser drawer. "I was going to wait until Christmas, but …"

  Piper's hand rose to her lips as he opened the red velvet box. In it sat a platinum engagement ring with rose gold accents. A blushing border of pink diamonds created a frame around a 3.02 carat cushion-cut white diamond. Mounted on the shoulders were brilliant white diamonds, whose prismatic sparkles sweetened the stunning kite-shaped stones on either side.

  Piper's lip trembled. "For me?"

  "For you."

  Chapter 14

  "How's your bottom this morning, Peepers?" Mr. Howard asked nonchalantly as Piper eased herself into the desk chair.

  "Well-fried, if you must know," Piper scowled. "I'm sorry about yesterday."

  "I'm not. Apparently, your friend needed an incentive to keep on the straight and narrow, and it was my pleasure to offer it. She will be here at 3:00 every day for the next week mucking stalls, cleaning the bathrooms, and getting her bottom blistered."

  "Pardon? Tanya is coming here?" Piper's voice rose in anticipation.

  "Yes, and she will be as sweet as pie to you or she will find out how well-placed my crop can land. I have offered to take her on as my sub and give her more of the attention she is craving. I am sorry she attacked you, though."

  "I'm not. Jeoff birched me last night and then proposed," Piper admitted with a shy smile.

  "He did what? Holy turd on a turkey!" Mr. Howard exclaimed, grabbing her hand to stare at the ring. "Did he rob a bank for you, girl?"

  Piper giggled. "Turd on a turkey? He said a Michael Beaudry collector is a friend of his and pulled some strings. Would you believe that?"

  "I believe your arm is going to get tired carrying that boulder around. He asked you to marry him?"

  Piper admired the glittering gems. "You sound surprised."

  "I am, but in a good way. My girl, you not only brought back his music, but also his faith. I am so happy for both of you."

  "Mr. Howard? Are you crying?"

  "No! Got some hay dust in my eyes. Get to work, girl, before I take a switch to your behind, next."

  "Yes, Sir, Mr. Howard, Sir," Piper snickered.

  She pretended not to notice when Tanya entered the office later than afternoon. Mr. Howard cleared his throat and Tanya sighed, kneeling on the ground. Her face reddened as Piper stared.

  "I am here to serve, Sir. Please direct me."

  "Start with apologizing to Piper. If she is satisfied, then you can fetch me the crop."

  Tanya kept her eyes glued to the floor as she spouted out an apology with an admission of jealousy and anger. She looked up at Piper with tear-filled eyes and asked for forgiveness.

  Piper sighed. "Of course, I forgive you. I hope this will give you what you need, Tanya. I really do. Everyone deserves to be happy."

  "Thank you," Tanya whispered. Her eyes focused on the ring. "Oh, dear God … did Jeoff propose to you?"

  "Yes," Piper answered with hesitation.

  "Congratulations. I mean it. He's a good man. He deserves to be treated well and have the best. Please don't look so suspicious, Piper." Tanya sounded sad. "I mean it. I really do. May I stand, Sir?"

  "Yes. Go fetch the crop."

  "I'm going to go take a walk while you handle your business," Piper said, as Tanya returned and handed the old man the long, slender riding crop.

  "You may stay and watch if you want," he said. He beckoned to Tanya and pointed to his desk.

  "No, I don't think so. Excuse me," Piper said, rushing out. She waved a greeting at the stable hands, walking as fast as she could onto the wooded walking path. Her bottom ached dreadfully, and she reached beneath the waistband of her jeans to rub the roughened, slightly welted region. The chilled early December air filled her lungs and she hurried deeper into the woods to seek out a place of solitude and peace. A large boulder peeked out from around the bend. Piper carefully clambered to the top.

  She brushed off the thin layer of melting snow and ice and sat there, shifting frequently to spare her tender bottom the discomfort of the hard, uneven surface. She scanned the valley, admiring the raw beauty of the Oregon wilderness. In the distance, she could make out a waterfall cascading down a mountain sheer and into the finger of a lake. I wonder if that the lake is on Jeoff's property? How did …? The cell phone she had borrowed from Jeoff interrupted her whirlwind of thoughts.

  "Hey, baby. Where are you?" his warm, low voice asked. "I swung by the stables and was told you took a walk. Are you okay?"

  "I'm on the boulder off the walking path. I needed some distance. Mr. Howard was …"

  "Disciplining Tanya. Yes, I know. Stay put. I'll be right there."

  The sounds of hooves made Piper peer over the edge of the large rock. Jeoff was bareback on Charlie, the draft-quarter used to pull trees, large rocks, and the parade wagons.

  "Pip?" he called.

  "I'm up here."

  Jeoff was next to her in less than a minute. "Aren't you cold? Sit on my lap."

  "Actually, the cold rock feels good on those nasty bruises you gave me. The view is breathtaking. How come you haven't showed it to me?"

  "I didn't want you to love me for my money. That's all ours, baby—all this property, except the actual stable, is ours. About 300 acres worth and bordering a national forest, so no one can develop next to it. Howard owns the stable. He sold me his part of the property years ago."

  "All this land is yours? It's beautiful, but why keep it a secret from me?"

  "I wanted an independent woman who had a desire to be responsible for her own life. You are all that and more. Why are you looking at me like that?"

  "You are an enigma. You want an independent woman who is submissive to your every command. It still doesn't make sense to me."

  "It will one day. I promise."

  "What other surprises do you have in store for me?"

  "Lots and lots. To start with," he settled next to her and stretched out on the broad, rocky platform, "we are going to take a little trip down south so you can start doing the things you've always wanted to do."

  "We are? Like what?"

  "Let's see," he tapped his chin, "you said you wanted to go to Sea World, Disney, the zoo, and see a 3-D IMAX movie, didn't you?

  "Um, yeah. How did you remember that?"

  "I remember everything about you because you are that important to me. You also said you wanted to go snow skiing, ice skating, and see Santa's Village. We will do that during Christmas."

  "I told you. I hate the holidays."

  "You used to hate the holidays. Now," he kissed the back of her hand, "you will have every reason to love them. Your life is changing, sweet P, and so is mine. We need to get going. I don't want to miss our flight."

  "What? We are going today? But …"

  "I booked it this morning. Up you go…." He lifted her off the boulder and placed her on the horse's broad back, "Your journey has only just started, Piper. Or, should I say, our journey. Bet your bottom smarts, huh?"

  "Yeah, and don't look so happy about it. You are incredible, know that?" Piper asked, snuggling against him as they trotted back to the stables.

  "I try," he chuckled. "Let me put old Charlie in the corral and I'll meet you at the truck."

  "Sounds good." Piper returned his kiss. Humming happily, she walked with a light gait to the front of the stables. Was it possible that her life could get any better? It didn't seem so. She had everything she ever wanted right here… now and forever.
