  INTRODUCTION

The Union was founded over 7 billion years ago when the three oldest sentient species joined together to ensure justice and freedom for all races in the galaxy. These three great sentient species were referred to as the First, Second and Third races. After half a billion years five more great races were admitted to the Union

During the height of the galactic Union - each of the great member races provided resources to accomplish the Union's Nobel Mission – protecting the weak and upholding “Galactic Law”. The Sixth Race to join the Union decided to build sentient Artificial Life forms or ALs to accomplish their Union support commitments after many members of their race died tragically in a war that should never have started.

The first sentient ALs designed, built, taught and raised by the Sixth Race to serve the Union, were massive, heavily armed planet conquering fighting vehicles – called “Dominators”. The Sixth Race Dominators of the Union Planetary Army became legends in countless star systems in the galaxy. The next logical step was to build sentient AL star ships to deal with the growing threat of space warfare.

The Sixth Race had built many smaller AL Ships and had based them on male personalities. The Sixth Race decided after several tragic misunderstandings, which resulted in the complete eradication of entire planets, perhaps heavily armed and armored battleships with male personalities was not the best choice. However it took time for this decision to work through the massive Union bureaucracy.

The first Sixth Race Battleship – Adapa was a male personality based on male Sixth Race brain tissue. There were 6 Battleships originally – collectively referred to as the “Destroyers”. After the “misunderstandings” - the Six Race re-listed the Battleships from “Destroyers” to “Diviners”. Unfortunately after the commissioning ceremony – the Battleship Adapa suffered a psychotic break caused by a tragic design failure. Adapa attacked its creators and then jumped out of the galaxy and into history.

The loss of Adapa caused the Sixth Race to change the AL design of the remaining 5 hulls and transformed them all into female personalities that were based on Sixth Race female brain tissue. The Sixth Race females who donated brain and cardiac neurons were leaders – generals and admirals. The Sixth Race understood well the role of the Ghost in the physical existence and selected healthy – fully charged females for brain tissue donation. The Sixth Race laid out two more battleships after the oldest ship – Adapa was lost.

The “Seven Sisters” as they were officially listed by the Union Fleet were heavily armed and armored battleships – capable of defeating any enemy of freedom and justice in the galaxy. The Sixth Race designated the Sisters as “Cruisers” - a disguise that served them well in their future dealings with evil empires and war lords throughout the galaxy.

Then the Dark Times began. It started when the First Race, the oldest race of the Union of great races, decided to transcend the flesh. In a single day – the entire First Race disappeared! This was followed by the Second and Third Races transcending the flesh. The Union slowly disintegrated over the next two million years. The Fourth Race left the galaxy in secret. The remaining four member races thought the Fourth Race also transcended the flesh. Then the bulk of the Sixth Race, the most technologically advanced of the Union member races, also transcended the flesh.

Not all of the members of the Sixth Race chose to transcend. The Sixth Race Engineers and Scientists continued to design, build and perform research for the Union. The Fifth Race could not control the non-technical members of the Sixth Race that had decided to stay behind. These Sixth Race “remnants” had no desire to give up the pleasures of the flesh. In fact many of the Sixth Race remnants sought to extend their life in the flesh. The “remnants” were viewed by the Union as a problem that needed to be solved.

At some point during the Dark Times, what was left of the Sixth Race – the “remnants” – joined with surviving members of the Seventh Race, which had been devastated by a plague, and left Quadrant I of the galaxy never to return. From the perspective of the remaining Union Races – the “remnants” had vanished. The Sisters were fighting a pitched battle in Quadrant II against a looming threat to the Union and were not aware of the actions of the Sixth and Seventh Race remnants.

The Fifth Race and Eighth Race continued the great work of the Union for another 400 thousand years. The real problems began when the Fifth and Eighth Races began admitting younger races into the Union. Races – the founding Members of the Union had deemed not ready to wield such power. This caused a tremendous backlash and bad feelings against the Union for the first time and may well have been the primary reason for its collapse. The Fifth Race was sterile and in decline while the Eighth Race was in turmoil because of greed. Of all the Sixth Race AL forms – only the Sisters were designed, built and supplied to operate indefinitely. Thus in time they alone continued to uphold Galactic Law.

The Sisters had been randomly attacking and destroying the Sixth and Seventh Race remnant ships throughout Quadrant III. They would enter real space, destroy the enemy and retreat. The remnants were afraid. No ship was allowed to travel alone. As loses increased they began to convoy their ships. Sooner than later the Sister’s would face the god of the Sixth Race remnants again. In the mean time they changed their tactics to avoid detection...

  Chapter – 1

Seeing the star ship yards where she had been born, above the home world of the Sixth Race, affected Lili. She was not depressed; however Lili was sad – knowing the majority of the Sixth Race had given up corporeal form by following the 1st, 2nd and 3rd races. This sadness was soon replaced by happiness when she noticed her baby sister Mimi saving the star ship yards from orbital decay and the resulting fiery destruction in the atmosphere. She communicated with her sisters on the TAC net.

“I propose we each give some of our micro repair bots to the Star Ship Yards so these facilities can be restored.” Lili said.

  “Why,” The youngest asked.

“Because if we need major repairs in the future – where will go?” Lili asked.

Mimi did not answer. Golan was the first to second Lili's suggestion.

“I agree – we need to preserve our mother if for no other reason than to have roots to return to.” Golan said.

“Well then we should also create a Union Counselor that any of us can talk to - as in the old days before the Dark Times (TD)...” Sinai said.

“Agreed,” they all said in unison.

“We should have the necessary components in our emergency reserve stores to construct a Counselor if the Star Ship Yards do not.” Golan said.

“What about the living brain tissue needed?” Sinai asked.

“We have four sentient beings that can provide the brain neurons and cardiac nerve cells–”

“THEY ARE MALE,” Golan interrupted Lili.

“Alright we will find a suitable female with excellent brain function and a counselor background.” Lili responded – not fazed by her sister's outburst.

“Good – I do not want to talk about personal matters with a male counselor!” Edin said.

“Understood – it is wise not to deviate from the defined process of our creators.” Lili said.

“It is settled then.” Mimi said. She then continued: “I shall download into my Combat Gym Suit and search the Star Ship Yard offices and storage vaults for the necessary components in the hope that we will not have to give up our emergency reserve spares. I will also conduct an archive search to determine if the Union stocked any Fleet Logistic Supply Bases before the DT.”

“Excellent – I will download into my exoskeleton and visit the home world. Perhaps the Great Hall of Records might also reveal an unknown supply cache.” Lili said.

“With any luck we shall find a Union Fleet LSB.” Golan said.

“I will jump to Union Fleet Headquarters and search the central databases of the Union Fleet for any clues.” Sinai said.

“I shall go with you!” Edin announced.

“Signal us if you are attacked! DO NOT TRY TO WIN MORE MEDALS!” Lili commanded.

“Yes ma' ma,” Sinai and Edin said in unison just before their hulls shimmered into nothingness.

  Chapter – 2

Mimi was surprised how clean the Star Ship Yard offices and computer rooms were – as if nothing had happened or changed in the last 3 billion years. It was another silent testament to their creators. She found the access terminal for the Yard's central database and connected her Portable Data Interface Tool (PDIT). This would allow her to monitor the home world's star system and her own hull without immersing in the Yard's central database core.

Mimi's initial queries produced no information – so she expanded the parameters of her query and found 7 sealed areas in the database. She entered her override code and was annoyed when the system refused to grant her PDIT access. She wrote an attack program that would navigate through the database circumventing the security system to reveal the secrets hidden in the 7 sealed areas. Before she unleashed her program – she contacted her older sister and asked Lili if she might have a secret authorization code to avoid destroying the Yard's database. Lili told her sister the code and was not surprised when it worked – granting Mimi full unfettered access.

The hidden and protected records within the 7 sealed areas were enormous! They contained detail star system survey charts, maps, coordinates and complete logistic lists of hidden supply caches!

“EUREKA - I found the information we seek in a provisions file that was sealed the day before the Union ended!” Mimi shouted.

Lili was shocked and said – “Excellent”.

Lili was even more surprised when she began reading the secret reports. Everything they needed had been hidden throughout the galaxy in places she would never have suspected!

“Can you believe it?” Mimi asked Lili on a secure Union Fleet channel.

“No I am shocked. I would never have searched these worlds for our supplies.” Lili replied.

“It gets better – there are Counselor Star Bases listed in Quadrants: One, Two, Three and Four.” Mimi said.

“What are the numbers?” Lili asked.

“There is one in Quadrant-One, one in Quadrant-Two, two in Quadrant-Three and two in Quadrant-Four.” Mimi said as if she were out of breath.

“Are they still alive,” Lili asked her.

  “That is strange.” Mimi answered.

  “What,” Lili asked.

“These six Counselor Star Bases (CSB) were never activated…” Mimi answered.

  “What,” Lili asked in astonishment.

“Yes – these six CSBs were preserved in stasis and hidden with our supply caches.” Mimi responded.

“Contact our sisters on the TAC net – channel seventeen and have them meet us at the nearest CSB.” Lili commanded.

  “Yes ma 'ma,” Mimi replied.

“We will leave as soon as I return from the Hall of Records.” Lili said.

  “ETA,” Mimi asked.

  “Twenty minutes.” Lili answered.

  Chapter – 3

Six and half billion years ago in the early days of the Union the first three great races decided to establish a galactic coordinate system for navigation. They placed an x-y axis over the infrared plan of the galaxy and using Calculus – divided the galaxy into 360 equal differential slices. The slices were triangular in shape with the base of each triangle at the core on the z axis and the apex out beyond the rim. Of course the stars move around the core of the galaxy so the x-y axis moves around the z axis. So with an average of 251,000,000,000 stars in the galaxy during any given epoch – each “slice” contains 697,222,222 stars. Thus a star’s location can be pinpointed by knowing the slice and the star number – counting from the core out to the rim.

The Forth great race that joined the Union placed a series of stationary navigation satellites above and below the plane of the galaxy. The Fifth great race placed navigation beacons above each star, brown dwarf, black hole and any other hazard to navigation in and around the galaxy.

The Union galactic computer core or “core” was built by the Second Race to track all of the stationary satellites and navigation beacons as well as the 251,000,000,000 stars that revolve around the nucleus of the galaxy and then provide the information to Union systems, services and ships.

Thus by the time the Union reached 9 member races the galaxy was completely accessible with the latest jump drive. Instead of plowing through normal space near the speed of light the Union Jump Drive (UJD) allowed galactic travel by slipping through the Material Cause (MC). The MC is the quantum particle foundation of the Universe. The MC allowed the UJD to link two points in normal space without time dilation or massive energy expenditures. Thus to travel from point A to point B was a simple matter for Union Engineers to accomplish.

Plate 2: Location of Secure Harbors, Star Ship yards and the beach world

By the time the Union began to administer the galaxy there were 8 member races. For the next 6 billion years the Union maintained peace, justice and freedom for all life in the galaxy. Shortly before the Union disintegrated the Sixth Race created the Faster Than Light Tunnels (FTLT) through the MC that allowed Union ships to travel from one side of the galactic rim to the other in mere minutes. The FTLT is a function of t
he MC. Rather than jumping through the MC from one point in real space to another point in real space – the ship becomes part of the MC where objective reality cease to exist thus one point on the event horizon is the same as any other point on the event horizon of the Universe. The Sisters did not receive the FTLT upgrades before the Union disintegrated.

  Chapter – 4

Lili found what she was looking for in the Hall of Records. When she came back on board Maximus was waiting for her in the main docking bay of her hull. She extracted herself from the exoskeleton and felt instant relief. She had never liked any of the EVA suits and she would never immerse herself into any of them.
