Forced To Kill The Prince

  Chapter Eight

I wake up in cabin fully dressed in the same clothes I wore the day I arrived on this planet. The people who took me must have brought my clothes as well. I wonder who dressed me, and I shuddered at the thought of Skelton touching me again. I got up off the bed and felt something poking me in my pocket. I pulled out a pill packet. I must have forgotten to put my birth control pills in the cabinet the last morning that I took them. I took a pill out and swallowed it dry. I know that this would at least help me from getting pregnant. I open the door to the room I am in and find Skelton sitting at a small wooden table.

“Good morning.” he said looking up from some papers he was reading. “Come sit down. I made you some breakfast.” I cautiously walked over to the table and sat down in front of the plate that was set down for me. My stomach started to rumble, and I took a bite of the food. It was actually good. I gobbled it down fast, as I hadn’t eaten anything since the morning before. “You are probably wondering where we are.” he said to me.

“I am a little curious.” I said between bites.

“I have taken you to a cabin in the mountains. This way we are away from the palace, and you won’t try and escape. You see I brought you here because I hope that I impregnated you last night. I feel that it is in our best interest to sit here and wait it out. That way if you are pregnant, I can take you back to the palace and the king will have to give you to me. Since, you will be carrying my child.” I eyed him suspiciously. So, this was his plan. Well, thank God those birth control pills were in my pocket. I need to keep taking those to make sure that he does not impregnate me. I just need to make sure he doesn’t catch on. I have no idea what they use on this planet in hopes of not getting pregnant.

“Since there is no indication that I can escape, do you mind if I go and explore the area? I would really love to get outside since I have been cooped up inside since I got to this planet.”

“I don’t see any harm in that. Just be careful out there. You never know what type of wild animal you might run into. I nodded my head in agreement and walked out the door. The fresh air slapped me in the face. It was cool and crisp and I breathed all of it in my lungs until I felt like I was going to pass out from its richness. I guess it is instilled in me; I love the outdoors, no matter where I go. The cabin was all alone in the woods, and I felt like it was ironic that Skelton would take me to a remote cabin after that was where I was staying on earth when I was abducted the first time. His cabin was surrounded by groves and groves of trees. The trees looked like a cross breed of pine, redwood and eucalyptus. The trees were long and tall like the redwoods, but they had the green look and smell of the pine, yet I noticed that the bark peeled in the same way that the eucalyptus did. I continued deeper into the forest, checking out every creek, stream, and break in the forest that I came too. I could have spent all of my time here, if I had all the supplies that I needed.

The morning moved into afternoon, and I noticed that the sun made the same patterns it did on earth, just in the opposite direction. The sun rose in the west here and set in the east. I continued walking, until I stopped at another stream. I cupped my hand to scoop up some fresh water to quench my thirst. There was a rustling sound behind me, when I turned, I noticed a small little girl peeking out at me from behind a tree. I didn’t know there was anyone living out here, but then again, I don’t really know how far I had walked. It has been a couple of hours. I waved to the girl and she giggled. She beckoned me to follow her, and I didn’t see any harm in it. If there were people living out here, I was going to run across them anyway. I got up from my crouched position and followed her deeper into the forest. All of a sudden the trees stopped, and I was standing right in front of a clearing, and in this clearing was a small village. The girl giggled and ran into the village. She beckoned for me to follow her again. The people in the village resembled what the fairy people in Ireland would look like if they were real. These people were tall and thin, with hair as bright as the rainbow. They were covered in clothes made of leaves and branches. Their small houses were also constructed of branches. I walked with the girl until she stopped at a hut larger than the others. There was a flap for a door, and a woman walked out. She was also tall and thin, but her hair was the color of fire, and her eyes were as black as obsidian. She had a twig protruding through her nose, like a hook, and she wore a crown of roses on her head.

“Greetings, I am Capria, Chief of these people. Who are you?”

“My name is Sandy. I was brought to this planet by The Grays.”

“Well, it is nice to meet you Sandy. I see you have met my daughter Autumn?” Capria said smiling at the little girl I had met in the forest. Autumn waved and ran off. “Please come, sit and talk with me” she said opening the door to her hit and waiting for me to enter. The hut was furnished with all wooden furniture. Even the pictures on the walls were made of wood. I still felt like I was in the presence of the Fae.

“Thank you.” I said. Taking a seat at the table, Capria poured me a beverage into a round wooden cup and offered it to me. It smelt strangely like hibiscus. I took a sip and it was nice and refreshing. Capria smiled.

“We are not used to new comers. Please tell me about yourself.” I opened up and told the woman my whole story; the story of how I had been abducted from earth and why I was brought here, and then how I had come to find her and her people. She nodded her head whenever she found something interesting. “You must be very special for The Grays to bring you all the way from earth. They had to come all the way across the galaxy to find the one woman who can help their people. This is a big honor, but I do not like this Skelton fellow. You must be wary of him. My people have been on the planet Nefolva since the beginning of time, longer the people who seek out your services. We are not much different than them, but we live separately. These people use technology to run their world, where we are simpler and use the land, and our own resources. The civilization that you have been introduced to is one that has taken our land from us and has actually sent us to live on this part of the planet. They are our captors, but we do not associate with them. We make our living by farming the Anneds, a winged beast that is native to this planet.” I listened to Capria talk about her culture, and I started to understand what she meant by working with the land. I had never been much of a technologically savvy person, and I loved nature. I noticed the sun starting to set in the sky and knew that Skelton would wonder what had happened to me. If he had to come out and find me, it would not be a good thing.

“I have to go for now, Capria. Thank you so much for your hospitality. I will definitely be back soon. I told her as I walked back into the forest and back to Skelton.

  Chapter Nine

“Where have you been?” Skelton demands as soon as I walk into the cabin.

“I went out exploring,” I told him. “It was so beautiful out there.”

“We are here on a mission, to make sure you are carrying my child.” he snaps.

“Getting fresh air and walking is great for a baby. The mother needs to make sure she is healthy when she is pregnant, as well as in hopes to conceive.” I told him to get him off my back. “But, I do think that I might have solved your people’s problem.” I told him while sitting down in one of the rocking chairs in the room.

“And how is that?” he asked. I had formed this idea in my head the whole way back from the village. It had made pretty good sense though. Even if I became pregnant by Skelton or the King, there was no way I would be able to help save their whole population form in-breeding. I was one person. However, Capria’s people would be a good solution to their problem because they can help further the advancement of both of their civilizations.

“When I was walking in the woods, I came across a village of people. These people have their own civilization and economy and most importantly they are different than your race. If you introduce your two races together they can help your problem of in-breeding. I think this is valuable information that we need to
bring up to the king. It is only right that he know of every option to save his people from extinction and in breeding.” I tell him. Skelton looks at me in horror. I have no idea what I said that would make him so disgusted.

“These people you speak of, do they farm a beast known as the Anneds?” he asked me. I nodded my head in consent. The look of disgust on his face grew. “I know the people you speak of and they are noting like us. They are sub-human, inferior, and we will never breed with them. They would ruin our species. The very thought makes me sick.” I didn’t understand anything he was saying. This was so outrageous. I had met Capria and her people seemed far more intellectually superior to Skelton’s race.

“I don’t understand. They seemed wonderful to me, and they can help your people out of your current situation. Anyway, this is information that we need to get to the king and he can make the right decision.” I said to him.

“No. I will never let that happen. I make a vow to use all of the technology we have to exterminate these people.” he yells. I make a run for the door, but he is faster than me. He scopes me up and puts me in the bedroom, locking the door behind him. “Don’t think about coming after me. I’m going to the palace and I’m going to make sure that we obliterate those people. There is no way that anyone will strip me of my glory, not them and definitely not you.” he slams the cabin door behind him and leaves me alone in the cabin. I look for anything to help me break down this door or help me escape. But, there is nothing. I could scream my lungs out and there was no one around for whiles that could hear me. I sit down on the bed and cover my face with my hands, sobbing. A wave of guilt comes over me. Capria had told me to be wary of Skelton and I had led him right to them. Now, he was going to kill them all and there was nothing I could do to save them. I thought that I had a purpose when I came here, but I guess I was wrong.

The door to my explodes as a Anned makes his way into my room with Capria on the back of him.

“Are you okay child?” she asks as she comes over to me to make sure I am not physically hurt.

“I am now that you are here.” I say throwing my arms around her. I tell her everything that happened as soon as I got back to the cabin. She slams her fist on the table when I am through.

“Child, you do not have anything to feel guilty about. Your intentions were good when you told Skelton about us helping them solve their problem. You didn’t know how he was going to react, and we should get to the palace soon to warn them about him before he sways them to his side.”

“I agree, but how did you find me, and how did you know I needed rescuing?” I asked her.

“I had you followed to make sure you were safe. When my runner heard Shelton lock you in the cabin and run off he came to me right away, which I am glad he did. Now hop on child. We don’t have much time.” I hopped on the back of the Anned and we took off towards the palace.

  Chapter Ten

The Anned skids to a halt right on the palace steps. I jump off and run through the palace doors, and into the throne rom. Skelton is giving his speech to the King and Queen when I make my way into the room. He stops dead in his tracks, surprised to see me. The King notices my return and starts running in my direction. At this moment, I see no one else but him. I fly into his arms and he kisses me passionately. A moan escapes from the Queen and Skelton.

“Where have you been, my dear? I thought something bad had happened to you or that you ran away?” he says as he caresses my face with his fingers.

“Tell him what you told me.” Carpia says, interrupting our reunion. But, I know she is right. We will have time to talk later. I told him how the Queen and Skelton had planned to kidnap me, and inseminate me with his child. This way, I would have to become his mate because I was carrying his baby. He took me away to the island and that is where I met Capria, the chief of the people who lived there. I explained how her people could help solve their problem, if they could forge some sort of an alliance. The King listened to me talk. When I was finished, he let me go and walked back up the steps.

“Guards!” he yelled. “Arrest Queen Alisha and Skelton, take them to the dungeon. Now that is taken care of, Capria I offer my dearest condolences to what my people have done to yours, and I would like to rectify that if we can. I think that we can all work together, if that is what you wish.”

“I do.” she said. The two formed an alliance that would help both of their people.

“Now if you will excuse me. I would like to retire to me room. Sandy, would you like to join me?”

  Chapter One

Average. It may as well have been tattooed across my forehead at this point. Average looks, average smarts, average life…though I suppose my mother naming me Olive was a little less than average. I was pretty much the perfect example of Basic Bitch; Sports Addition…. what with my long brown hair and hazel eyes. Of course, I traded the Uggs and pumpkin spice lattes for a pair of sneakers and a Gatorade, but still. Even a girl who spend her time playing tennis and training for the occasional marathon could blend in better than a blade of grass. Throw me in a line-up with a dozen other brunettes and it works better than camouflage. You wouldn’t be able to see me if you tried. You would think, though, that being such an Average Jane would render me invisible on the Social Scale at school, but no. No, I had to be blessed with a combination of average everything…except I was blessed with the worst luck on the planet. Or should I say cursed.

I swear I’m not exaggerating. I have plenty of examples. For instance, back when I was in 7th grade I managed to slip on a patch of black ice that every single other student had managed to walk right over without issue. What do I do? Hit that sucker full-force and wind up breaking my wrist instead of breaking my fall. Then there was that fun incident during the Sophomore Snow Ball where my dress somehow got caught on a folding chair and I managed to rip a massive hole just below my ass. That night ending pretty quickly after that, though I’m sure more than one person got a nice view of my cheeks as I high-tailed it out of there.

One of my favorite moments, if I’m being facetious, was during one of the 5K marathons I had been training 6 months for. In between tennis commitments and general school nonsense I had spent the better part of my free time training. Lots of weights and stamina had left me feeling strong and maybe a little bit cocky. When the marathon rolled around, I got a little ahead of myself and managed to not only pull a hamstring during the first leg, but when I went down from the pain I managed to twist my knee and damn near tore my MCL. I was on the bench for everything for months. The only good thing that came out of it was my ass got nice and plump from the lack of exercise. A few guys at school seemed to dig it.

The biggest kicker of my high school career, not to mention the most mortifying, was when a friend of mine shot me a text asking where
I was one day after school. I messaged her back, thinking myself a funny and sarcastic asshole, and told her ‘In the shitter, duh!’. For context, the two of us had a few weird inside jokes, “the shitter” was one of them. Though apparently, I somehow managed to include my entire contacts list in that message. I had about 50+ people from school in my contacts list. Needless to say, I was a laughing stock for MONTHS after that...which would have been fine, to be honest. I could have gotten past and shaken off a temporary humiliation like I had so many times before. But this one stuck like a spit ball. How do I know? Because the day before graduation senior year my friends and classmates greeted me in Homeroom with a homemade plaque announcing me as “Shits McGee; Master Shitter”. Lovely.

I figured that when I got to college I could change my luck around and not have to worry about becoming a laughing stock in a neck brace and crutches with some fun nickname like ‘Gimpy’ or, god forbid, ‘Shits McGee’. I made a point to stick close to home and go to the state university about an hour away to avoid any possibility of being stranded somewhere unfamiliar. Not like I had much of a choice, though, since my grades weren’t about to get me a free ride anywhere. Even with being on the tennis and cross-country teams my transcript wasn’t impressive enough to stand out from the crowd. Surprise, surprise.
