Bambi was so silent. She pulled the revolver out of her coat pocket and handed it to Pretty Thug. “I killed Sky Blue. I killed Black Hawk’s baby brother.”
“Holy shit, he blurted. He couldn’t believe the words that came out of Bambi’s mouth. Pretty Thug saw blood. It was all over the front of Bambi’s coat. He was certain it wasn’t her blood, “Inside now.”
Once the girls were in Cujo walked over to them. Pretty Thug whispered something.
“Wow.” Cujo could only say that. He took some time to think. “If you murdered Sky Blue, things are gonna get interesting.” He told Pretty Thug. “Take them to the room.” He looked at Bambi. “Take off that coat.” He called Zero over. Zero was in the living room with Trixie. Trixie was a female he claimed. They were on the couch cuddling up. “Burn that coat and get rid of the car. Then go out and get the word on Sky Blue. I wanna know what is what.”
“Right,” Zero uttered, “Sky Blue” with some confusion. He was always confused.
“I stole that car.” Mink spoke boldly.
“So what,” Cujo snapped. “What ever you do ain’t you no more, it’s HC. Stealing that car was apart of the initiation. Any time something is done in a car, the car gets ditched.” He wasn’t sure why he was explaining anything. He gave her a longer look. Mink was young but she had long legs and a nice ass. Her face wasn’t bad either. Cujo gave her a big smile. “I don’t want you talking. Boogie is gonna be back soon.”
With that being said, Pretty Thug led the girl up the stairs and to a room. The room had two beds in it, a few chairs, some other furniture and a small table. A television was in the room and a small clock radio. Pretty Thug left the room just as soon as he walked them inside.
It was Bambi and Mink.
“Did you kill him?” Mink asked.
“I shot him twice.” Bambi said after a minute.
“That don’t mean he’s dead.”
“How many bullets you gotta use to kill somebody?” Bambi snapped.
Mink naively said, “Maybe three instead of two or a hundred. I don’t know.”
“His name was Sky Blue.” Bambi told her. “I heard him taking to Black Hawk. He called Sky Blue baby bro.”
“I ain’t ever heard of either of them. I ain’t heard of none of them besides Air. Air is the leader of the Sky Jackers.”
“I know.” Bambi started crying again. “I killed him. I know I did.”
“You had to kill him. How else was we gonna get in the gang so quick. Now we hood soldiers. We ain’t initiation bitches no more. We ain’t regular soldiers either. We hood soldiers. We get jackets and we can get HC tattoos if we wanna. I wanna tattoo right on one of my tits.”
“I don’t feel good.” Bambi said and threw up.
“Oh shit!” Mink yelled.
Bambi threw up everything that was in her stomach on the floor. She fell to her hands and knees afterwards. “I killed somebody.” She sobbed.
Mink went down to the floor beside her.
“It’s ok,” She said. She began rubbing Bambi’s back. Mink kissed her on the forehead. “We need to clean this up.” Mink wasn’t sure if they could leave the room or not. She wasn’t sure of anything. She wasn’t even sure if Bambi killed the guy. She saw the blood on her coat. She knew Bambi had at least shot the dude. Bambi claimed to have shot him twice. Mink had to believe her. They were peas in a pod now. Mink had just met Bambi but she had faith in her. Bambi was Candace Lorraine’s daughter. What was more thorough than that…?
“I got school tomorrow.” Mink blurted absentmindedly. “Fuck school,” She blurted directly afterwards. “I’m failing anyway.”
Bambi said nothing. She was sitting on one of the beds. She was looking at the mess she put on the floor. She didn’t know what to do. Mink went over to a chest of drawers and rummaged through some of the drawers. She found sheets and pillow cases. She used one of the pillow cases, cleaned the mess up. Bambi thanked her with a smile.
They waited.
Hours passed.
Mink gathered nerve and turned on the television. They watched a couple of shows. There was a knock at the door. Both girls said nothing. Eventually the door opened.
Boogie walked in.
He gave both girls angry eyes.
“I don’t think you two understand what you did. Zero came back with the word.” He looked at Bambi specifically. “The word spread like crack. You killed a Sky Jacker.”
“We did it, me and Bambi both.” Mink expressed with delight. “I drove the car. We done it together.”
Boogie stifled her delight with a leer. “Be quiet bitch. You two did good but you done bad.” He concentrated on Bambi. “Did anyone see you?” He asked her.
“See me what?” She uttered sheepishly.
“Kill Sky Blue.”
“No one was around when I shot him.”
“For our sake I hope no one was and no one finds out. If anybody points the finger at Homicide Central… killing an elite member of the Sky Jackers is gonna start a war.”
Bambi and Mink couldn’t believe what they were hearing. Sky Blue was an elite member. Bambi murdered a major member of the gang.
“You two are in, in a big way.” Boogie smiled. “The ceremony is in two hours. We gotta do things quick. I got a job for you two just as soon as you’re sworn in. If you gotta go home or something, do so. You two gotta have escorts if you leave.”
“Why?” Mink asked.
“If anyone points you two out, you two are as good as dead. The Sky Jackers are nothing to mess with. I should kill Cujo for making you two…” Boogie hadn’t anymore words. What was done was done.
