Twisted Revenge

“Don’t,” Dad said coldly. “You’ve done enough, Manny.”

“Okay. I get it,” Emmanuel frowned. “Both of you just need to know that it’s not about hurting either of you. It’s pure selfishness between Cami and me.”

“Very fucking selfish,” Christina spat. “It’s cool though.” The smirk returned and she walked over to me until she was inches away from my face. I didn’t want her to swing on me again because my instinct would make me fight back and I would try to hurt her whether I was in the wrong or not.

“You’re not the only one who can fuck daddies, Camilla.” She giggled and shot Dad a glance that he reddened at. I couldn’t tell if it was from embarrassment or anger.

Emmanuel’s pieces clicked into place first and he laughed. He clapped his hands together slowly and laughed his ass off.

It wasn’t funny though. It chilled me to my fucking core. The same feeling rippled through the room because Chris was no longer smirking and even Dad looked shaken.

“Well fucking done,” Emmanuel spoke with a different tone to his voice. It matched the iciness of his laugh. Even though a smile was still painted on his face, we all knew he was anything but happy.

Once I realized what Chris was saying, my heart began pumping. I wasn’t cool and calculated like Emmanuel. I was hot and lava. I was impulsive and uncaring.

  She fucked my father.

I glared at Dad and he met my eyes with a steady gaze. Christina was trained on Emmanuel, watching for any movement from him but he wasn’t the swinging type. Emmanuel never played checkers he was all about chess.

“So who thought of this little bit of revenge huh?” Emmanuel smiled from Dad to Christina. He pointed his finger at Dad and the smile melted away revealing a bitter gaze. “It seems more your speed Trev. I mean, why not? I took your girlfriend and made her my wife, I took your daughter and…well, let’s just say I should’ve waited for Cami to grow up before I married Dana because boy does she have her mother beat.” Dad lunged at Emmanuel with rage tinting his green eyes but Chris threw herself in front of him with a whimper.

  She loved him!

The entire time Emmanuel calculated under the guise of conversation anger was ripping through each part of my body morphing me into a time bomb that should not be poked or prodded. “Oh! You’re mad huh?” Emmanuel chuckled at Dad. “I get it. But we both know that a fist fight isn’t what the fuck you want from me.” Emmanuel sat behind his desk and swung his chair from left to right. “You should feel celebratory, Trev. You won, right? You fucked my daughter…took her virginity.” His fists tightened as he spoke. “You fucked Dana, right? Why don’t you feel like you’ve won?” Emmanuel was speaking as if he was a teacher and we were his students. He drummed his fingertips together and looked to each of us in the room.

“What?” Chris spat, moving away from Dad. “You and mom?” She looked hurt and horrified, now it was my turn to smile.

“Oh, Trev didn’t tell you about that, Princess?” Emmanuel laughed again, freezing the room with his ice. “Yeah, he’s been fucking you and your mother at the same damn time evidently. I mean, it’s a beautiful plan if I do say so myself. But again, you don’t look happy.” Emmanuel cocked his head to the side.

“I needed to show you that you don’t run everything, Manny,” Dad finally spoke up. Emmanuel turned the corners of his mouth down.

“I don’t run everything?” Another smile. “But I do and that’s why you don’t look happy. Because you know that I still control the playing field. No matter what.” His voice lowered and he leaned back in his chair.

I watched him as his wheels spun and only God knew what twisted shit he was thinking about. Dad looked at me and said, “Camilla…I didn’t want to hurt you in all of this but why are you with him? Didn’t you ever think how much that would hurt me?”

“Please, air out all the family grievances now,” Emmanuel grumbled. Dad ignored him and focused on me.

“I wasn’t thinking about you, Dad. You have nothing to do with who I fuck.” I wanted my words to be vulgar and pointed. I wanted them to hurt. “You clearly had your own agendas though. Trying to teach everyone a lesson. Did anyone learn anything?” I asked through clenched teeth.

  No response.

“You weren’t thinking about anyone but yourself. You never do,” Chris piped up.

I raised my hand to my throbbing head and tried not to hurl myself at her. “Aw, is your head hurting, Cami? You need daddy to fuck you back to health?” In a flash, I darted over to her and slammed my fist into her face as hard as I could muster. She toppled over in her seat and grabbed for me.

  “Bitch!” She yelled out.

“I’ll be that Chris,” I smirked.

  “Girls!” Dad barked.

“Let them handle it,” Emmanuel said calmly.

“I’m done. I don’t want to hear anything that comes from her nasty mouth.” Chris looked me from head to toe and I laughed loudly.

“You know who else thinks I have a nasty mouth?” I leaned over and whispered in her ear, “Laurel. But she likes my nasty mouth.” I stood back and took in the pain and rage on her chocolate face. “She thought my nasty mouth felt good on her pussy too.”

Once again the air was sucked out of the room. Even Emmanuel looked at me with disbelief.

“Y--You’re lying!” Christina trembled as tears wet her eyes. I’d finally struck a nerve, and I wasn’t going to let up. If she wanted to come in swinging and dropping bombs, then she was going to be reminded of who the big sister was.

“Nope. Not lying. I made her cum so hard on your birthday after you broke her heart. Then I let Xavier fuck her just for good measure.” Christina scrambled to get out of the office and Dad turned his eyes to meet mine.

“Really Camilla?” He sounded so disappointed. I shrugged my shoulders at him.

“Go chase after your girlfriend dad. I’ll be here.” I remarked bitterly.

“See you at work tomorrow Trev,” Emmanuel called as Dad went after Chris.

Once all was clear I crumpled onto the couch and cradled my head. The pain was intense. Emmanuel handed me a pill and I took it gladly. When the pain started to subside he looked at me and frowned. “Did you and Xavier really fuck Laurel?” He quizzed. He honestly seemed more intrigued than anything.

“Yeah. That really happened.” I sighed.

“Shit. Well done, Cami,” He chuckled.

“What are you gonna do about this shit?” I asked him. He pulled me close and kissed the top of my head.

“I have my ideas,” he told me. “I can’t have someone on my team who’s out for revenge. Your father has to be dealt with,” he told me seriously. I felt my stomach tremble with fear.

“Don’t hurt him, Emmanuel,” I pled sincerely. He let out a pent up breath and tossed the idea around in his head before nodding.

  “Okay. I won’t hurt him.”

“Don’t have anyone else hurt him either.” I pointed at him.

“I won’t. You have my word sweetheart. But he will be dealt with. You won’t like it either.” I already knew that Dad would meet the angry side of Emmanuel Scott once it was out that he’d taken Christina’s virginity. Truthfully, I felt like Emmanuel would’ve overlooked that tit for tat if it weren’t for Dad plotting against him.

Emmanuel has never done well with being plotted against and I’ve seen it happen plenty of times. Whenever another pastor thought he would plot against Emmanuel at the old church and bring him down, the pastor suddenly had a scandal that destroyed his life or he disappeared completely from the church and nobody uttered a word.

Emmanuel was the worst kind of opponent to play against because he didn’t play fair, he was a colossal control freak and he had endless resources and friends in high…and low places. My heart ached for my father once the anger subsided.

I looked up at Emmanuel and asked, “What would happen if I said those three words to you?” Curiosity ran raging through my mind.

  “If you
said that with the way I feel too…I would never be able to let you go,” he sighed heavily. “You’d be mine no matter where you went or who you were with. You could marry Xavier and have his kids and you’d always be mine. That’s why you can’t say that Cami,” he warned. I’ve never really heeded warnings well though.

I kissed him softly and looked into those deep pools of coffee. “I love you, Emmanuel.” His eyes closed and he cursed under his breath.

“I love you too, Camilla.” I could practically hear an iron lock clinking shut, binding us together forever.

  Chapter Sixteen

  Xavier

Trevor looked like something had shaken him badly when he sat across from me at Nick’s. He kept shaking his head and it looked like something was playing out in his mind, but only he could see it. “What’s going on man?” I frowned.

“I’m surprised you didn’t hear the commotion,” he scoffed.

“Nah, I left trying to catch up with Ava. She answered my calls finally but when I drove past her house she wasn’t there. What happened though?”

“All the shit hit the fan at one damn time,” he said. Our beers came and he wasted no time knocking them back. “Chris knows about Manny and Camilla.”

“Oh shit.” I imagined Christina going off on Camilla and the outcome wasn’t good in my mind. Camilla could fight pretty well but her mouth and her thirst for revenge were what made her dark and dangerous. It’s no doubt where she and Manny clicked together. I did my dirt too but it was more selfish than anything else. I wasn’t out to hurt anyone, but I was out to satisfy myself for sure.

“Yeah, Manny found out I was plotting this whole shit and he snapped,” Trevor said after his second bottle of beer. I looked his face over for bruises but found none. Then I realized that Emmanuel was just like Camilla. Not quick to fight with fists but with revenge. Trevor looked at me hopefully.

“Do you think there’s a way to actually bring Manny down?” He asked. I pushed out a long breath before shaking my head. Trev was barking up the wrong tree trying to take Emmanuel Scott down.

“Look, man, I know he snatched your family and he fucked your daughter. Shit…I love Camilla too but she won’t leave his ass alone. So I get it.” I took a drink and tapped my finger on the table top. “But what you’re trying to do is suicide. With Emmanuel you gotta let shit run its course. He’s not the type to apologize so when he offered us positions at his side he was offering a salve for our wounds.” Trevor got angry and pounded the table with his fist.

“He was trying to control us!” He looked around and lowered his voice, “He doesn’t want to help us, Xavier.”

“I know that. I also know he was making a power play but he knew he was fucked up. He wouldn’t have allowed us to get in on his money otherwise.” I rested my elbows on the table and shook my head. “If you push any harder you’re gonna make shit worse. Who knows what the fuck he’s plotting.”

“So you’re just content to let him fuck Camilla until the day he dies?” My muscles tensed at his words.

“No,” I grunted. “But I can’t control Emmanuel, so I control Camilla.” Trevor laughed at that one and he looked at me like I was crazy. “I know it doesn’t seem like it, but I do. I have her heart no matter what the fuck her and Emmanuel have going on.”

“You know she’s falling in love with him, right?”

“Even still. I have her heart.” I said sternly. It didn’t matter if she was falling for him, it was only because I’d fucked up with Ava but once I could prove that shit was false I would pull rank and she would stop seeing Emmanuel. It didn’t matter who believed it or not. “Look, my point is, Trevor you can’t fight Emmanuel up front. You can’t think you can just bring someone like him down in one fell swoop. He has to be undone brick by brick.” I’d watched Emmanuel for the past year so I saw how he operated and what drove him. He was power hungry and he got what he wanted all the time. I knew a streak like that wouldn’t last forever. I personally was just biding my time and making my money. Trevor was out for blood and he was being too upfront in the process.

He was going to get fucked up.

“Well, I can’t exactly hide in the shadows now. Everything has come to light.”

“That’s true. You need to keep your wits about you now. Emmanuel is off the leash and nobody really knows what he’s capable of yet.”

“Well, I’m not running anywhere.” He puffed his chest out and finished another bottle. “Whatever he’s gonna do to me, he can do it. He already took everything from me.”

“Camilla is still your daughter and she loves you a lot. He didn’t take her.” He chuckled but it never reached his eyes.

“Yeah…I feel like I just pushed her right into his arms after today though.” His pain reached me on a deep level and I nodded my head.

“Me too,” I said solemnly. We were quiet after that we just watched the game and knocked back more beers. No amount of beers could dull the pain I felt when I thought about Camilla falling for Emmanuel though.

When I got to work the next day, a plain white envelope sat on my desk. I walked around to my chair and picked it up. Inside was an ultrasound picture and a sticky note in Ava’s handwriting.

“Our little blessing,” it read with hearts decorating the words. I flopped down in my chair and rested my head in my hands.

  Fuck!

I sat the picture and note down and went to find Ava. She had to still be in the building. I raced to the dining hall but she wasn’t there. I checked with Emmanuel and he told me he last saw her chatting with Mary in the parking lot.

That’s where I found her. Luckily Mary knew how to drag a conversation out. Her eyes widened when she saw me. “Good morning Mary,” I smiled.

“Hello, Pastor Sanders. Let me get back inside so you two can talk.” She shuffled back towards the building and I glared at Ava.

“What the fuck did you leave that shit on my desk for?”

“Why are you talking about our child like that, Xavier?”

“Look, we’re gonna get this shit taken care of now,” I spat. I was tired of her damn games. After dropping the bomb that twisted my life around, she wanted to disappear for nearly a week and not answer my calls then leave an ultrasound picture on my desk?

  Not happening.

I grabbed her arm and she yelped out in shock. I pulled her over to my car and made her get inside. “Where are we going, Xavier?” She sighed.

“Don’t worry about it,” I snapped.

“You’re just gonna snatch me from my job and not tell me where we’re going?”

“Exactly.” I whipped through the streets like a stunt driver.

“Look, I know you’re mad about all this but now we can be together and not have to worry about your bitch of a girlfriend.” The more she spoke, the faster I drove.

Finally, I pulled up at a health clinic. Ava eyed me curiously and shook her head.

“No, Xavier.” She said firmly. “You’re not taking me in there. You want me to get an abortion?!” She shouted.

“No Ava. I want to watch you get an ultrasound.” I told her, my voice was ice cold. Her eyes shifted around like an animal trying to plot an escape route, but I had her cornered. I grabbed her hand and pulled her through the sliding doors. The sterile air filled my nostrils and I frowned at it. I walked her up to the counter and made her sign in. Hesitantly she wrote her real name on the sheet: Ava Reyes.

“Xavier, why are you doing this? Let’s just go somewhere and talk.” She pleaded.

“No. If my baby is inside of you then I want to see for myself,” I told her.

We garnered a few looks from patients who probably recognized me but I didn’t care right then.

“Aren’t you worried who might see you sitting in Planned Parenthood with me? It won’t be good for your image.”

“I don’t care.” I picked up a magazine and flipped through the pages while Ava filled out paperwork until she was called.

  The nurse that took
Ava back was young and extremely pretty. She had pale skin and long dark hair in stark contrast to her ice blue eyes. I flashed her a smile and she brightened up immediately. “Oh my goodness, I’ve seen you on TV!” She squealed then she leaned in and whispered, “I’m not supposed to let you back since you two aren’t married but…I’ll make an exception.”

“Well thank you beautiful,” I looked at her nametag. “Hailey. Pretty name.”

“Thank you, Pastor.” She giggled before walking us back. I could hear Ava huffing and puffing, but I ignored her.

Nurse Hailey left us alone in a room while Ava got undressed and slipped into a paper-thin hospital gown. Normally seeing her naked body gave me a hard dick, but today I just regarded her as if she were fully clothed.

Ava was silent the entire time and I wasn’t in the mood to talk. I was sick with worry that she was actually pregnant with my child. I had to stop fucking these random bitches.

When the doctor came in she smiled warmly at me, then at Ava. “Good morning folks. I see we’re here for an ultrasound today?”

  “Yes, ma’am,” I spoke clearly.

“Okay, let’s see how far along you are Miss Reyes.” The doctor fired up the machine and the screen came to life. Ava looked over her shoulder at me, then to the doctor nervously.

“Um, I actually just wanted confirmation of pregnancy,” she stammered.

The doctor and I both frowned.

“Confirmation? So you’re not sure if you’re pregnant?” The doctor asked, making notes on her laptop.

“Not exactly.” I tried not to get too happy. Instead, I remained silent in the back of the room.

“Okay, let’s find out.” The doctor found her smile again and slowly inserted a probe into Ava. It seemed like the longest five minutes ever. I had no idea what the hell I was looking at on the screen until the doctor spoke. “Well, Miss Reyes looks like you’re not pregnant. It seems like you’ve had a tubal litigation done previously. It’s still intact.” She removed the probe and smiled at Ava. “Any more questions?”
