Ivana hated remembering those times because she would have to go back to that fire as well. She would relive the whole past in a glimpse of a moment. Overnight her life had changed; so many times she wished she hadn’t been so lucky to survive that night. “Was it really survival?” She wondered.

All those times the kids would call her names and she would end up in her room crying. It wasn’t like she had her own room even. There was no privacy, so they knew they had gotten to her. “Listen to the baby cry, she’s such a baby.” Ivana heard from the other orphans.

What had they expected she was only 4 years old, was she supposed to be hard like they were? She couldn’t stop her tears at all; she missed her mom and dad. She had been their little princess, they had always told her.

Now here she was in this home where she didn’t even matter to anyone. It didn’t take her long to develop her attitude. Eventually as she got older her looks had helped her out. As she developed into the fine looking woman who stood in front of the mirror right now, things had changed.

Ivana had been able to get anything she wanted by the time she was just 12 years old. Her breasts had developed at a younger age. She was small at only 5’ 4” tall, but her breasts were big at 42DDD. She still had to laugh at how much men would trip and fall over themselves at the sight of flesh.

Her skin was a milk chocolate that so many of the rich men in the world seemed to covet. “Maybe I’ve lucked out with this one though!” She hoped.

In the little amount of time her name had been on this site, she had many hits. But most of them always had something wrong. One liked to dress in women’s clothing, and another liked to beat his sexual mates. Neither of those options had pleased her.

Sure there had been many others, but she couldn’t remember all the issues now. Ivana only hoped that Fred was different than those other men. She sat down and wrote to him. She was hoping that they would be able to set up a chat soon.

  Hi Fred,

You seem like a really nice man. I’ve studied English my whole life and I really would love to see your country. Of course getting to know you better is important to me as well. I’ve heard tales of men who will buy brides and keep them locked up in a basement.

Ivana looked at what she had put in her response. It was a fear of hers ever since Trina had shared the story of her one friend who left and never was heard from again. So she decided to leave it there.

I’ve taken some more pictures and have sent them with this email. I hope that we can talk soon.

  Yours truly,

  Ivana A.

She sent it off and hoped he would be on before long. Knowing she had a few minutes she went to find Trina and tell her about this man.

  Chapter 3

Fred saw her response and was happy. Maybe he had finally found the right woman for him. He checked to see what time it was where she was and tried to send her an instant message.

“Ivana, hello, it’s not too late here. If you’re available would you like to chat online?” Fred asked on his message.

He waited for a response as he studied the new pictures she had included. She had some of the smoothest looking skin he’d seen in his life. Her face was beautiful. The green eyes on her milk chocolate skin were simply intoxicating.

Fred heard the ding of the message. Looking he saw that it was her. “Hi Fred, sorry I was off talking to my friend Trina.”

He clicked on the icon and responded immediately. “That’s fine I’m still here!”

“Do you want to chat on the phone option?” She asked him.

Fred smiled he wanted to hear if her voice matched what he thought it would. “Of course I would love it.”

“Hi Fred it’s nice to talk with you.” He heard her broken Russian accent come across the computer.

“Nice to meet you too Ivana, I’m glad we hooked up fairly quickly!” Fred commented.

“Me too, I was off talking to Trina and came back to see your message. What time is it there?” She asked.

“It’s almost 2 in the morning.” He admitted.

“Oh that’s so late, I can let you go to sleep.” She stated.

“No it’s okay really I want to talk to you.” He said.

He saw her smile and he fell in love. It was so sweet and innocent looking. Fred wanted to wrap her up in a cocoon and seal her off from the world at that moment.

The night flew by; he had to fight himself not to ask her to marry him. He honestly felt it was too soon to commit himself in that way. They hung up agreeing to meet online the next day to talk again.

As he closed his computer up he smiled. “Wow she seems like such a nice person. Someone I’ve always looked for. I wish I would have found her sooner.” Fred knew that his mind was already made up. Soon he would tell her he was getting tickets and sending for her.

“Maybe I’ll start Tommy on the process tomorrow. He can figure out how to get her passport done and visa, and all that will need to be completed.” Fred didn’t consider asking her; after all he was the male in the family. She would listen to him he was her husband.

During the day he had done his research on Russian women and found out that they were followers. There weren’t many leaders among the female population. This was fine with him since he liked to be the one in charge.

Fred smiled knowing that he could soon even have an heir to all his money. He really had wanted to have kids for his whole life. His mother and father had never had more than him. Fred had wanted to have brothers and sisters though. He had grown up with kids who had up to 7 in their family.

Fred had seen the closeness of the families and had longed to have something just like that. He wondered if Ivana had any brothers or sisters. During the conversation he had learned just a bit about her. She had seemed a little hesitant to talk about her childhood much.

The only thing he knew was that her parents were dead. “I’ll have to find out more about her.” He thought. “Really I just want her over here with me. She makes me feel alive on the computer. I wonder how much better it would be in person?”

He slept that night closing his eyes and feeling at peace for one of the first times in his life. He dreamt about seeing her in person the first time.

  Chapter 4

Ivana had enjoyed their conversation. She had just gotten back from sharing the news of Fred Powers to Trina. Thinking of her friend she smiled. She was the only friend in life she had ever had.

They had met in the orphanage. By the time Trina showed up Ivana had been there a long 4 years. She had just turned 8 the week before when they brought in the new girl.

“Look at that little runt?” One of the other orphans had motioned towards Trina.

Ivana immediately felt for the young girl. She couldn’t be more than 5 years old. Remembering everything the kids had put her through; she immediately decided to become the girl’s protector.

“Hey I’m Ivana, what’s your name?” She had approached Trina.

Trina had looked up at her; her eyes were still red from the tears that had just fallen down her face. They threatened to begin again. Ivana took her hand and said. “It’s okay I’ll help you out. Don’t worry you’ll always have me.” She had meant it too.

The girl had come out of her shell slowly. Ivana had fought many fights protecting her as well. The workers at the orphanage soon told everyone to leave Trina alone. They were tired of constantly having to mend the wounds on the kids.

“My name is Trina. Are my mom and dad really dead?” She had looked up at Ivana one day and asked. Ivana had also found out that the girl had only been 3 years old at the time.

“Yes I’m sorry sweetie. I don’t know what happened, but if you are here, they are gone.” Ivana hadn’t known Trina’s story at that time. As they got older she would learn a bit more about the girl, who she now considered her sister.

Ivana wondered what Fred was like too. Would he accept her the way she was? She stood in front of the mirror now naked. The burn scars still marked h
er body. They looked ugly; she hated how her body looked under her clothes.

Not many people knew about the burns. The people she grew up with and that was it. Ivana never told anyone she met about them. She figured if she didn’t think about them they wouldn’t be as bad.

But now she knew it was wrong as she looked into the mirror. He’ll not like me when he sees this. I should really tell him about them. Ivana felt a need to tell him, but a fear that she would lose her one chance to ever be happy.

“Trina he called me online!” She ran to tell her friend about Fred.

Trina smiled as she sensed Ivana run into the room. “Tell me all about it!”

Ivana sat down by her friend, wondering once again what it was like to be blind. Sometimes she wished she could give Trina her eyes so that she could enjoy it again. But sadly she knew it wouldn’t work. She felt bad every time she thought about how her friend has lost her eyes sight.

“Come on spill the beans!” Trina shouted.

Ivana focused on telling Trina about Fred. “He’s so sweet and he’s handsome. Or he could be a male model if he wanted. His eyes are this beautiful blue. They look like pools of pure blue sky.” Ivana tried to explain in the best ways she could so Trina could picture it.

She watched as Trina imagined the descriptions of Fred. Ivana really did love Trina as much as she could.

“Maybe you’ll get to go to him?” Trina asked, excited for Ivana.

“Only if you get to go along, if not I won’t go. I told you a long time ago it would always be me and you.” Ivana stated.

“You know you have to live your own life too. Plus you never know I might find a guy on the site too!” Trina stated.

“Sweetie, did you sign up too? Wait how are you going to do that?” Ivana stopped.

“You’re going to help me make an account.” Trina said.

“I don’t know, are you sure you want to do that? I mean I know I could tell you what they look like. But what if you go with a guy and he’s mean to you?” Ivana asked.

“You’ve taught me to never let anyone take advantage of me. Trust that you have taught me that well! Ivana you are such a strong woman. I couldn’t go with you to America. What kind of life would you have if you had me trailing along after you?”

“Well maybe we can do a profile for you. But I’m going on the first few dates with you.” Ivana gave in partially.

“So this Fred Powers, how do you feel about him?” Trina asked Ivana.

“I think he’s a really nice guy. He seemed to listen to everything I said while we were talking. He didn’t even want to hang up though it was late where he lives. I think he likes me.” Ivana said.

“Good, I’m glad.” Trina patted her knee.

Ivana looked at her friend and thought of the tortured past she had. At first she had figured that Trina’s story was much like her own. That something horrible had happened and her mother and father were dead. In fact that was what Trina had asked that first night. So why would she think anything besides that?

But when she would ask to take Trina with her she would find out the truth. Trina’s father had tortured her causing her to go blind. He had killed Trina’s mother that day. Trina was not aware of that fact. The neighbors had heard the little girl screaming in agonizing pain and called the authorities.

They had pulled her out and placed Trina at the orphanage. For many years Ivana wanted to track down Trina’s dad and hurt him bad.

Now 17 years later Ivana and Trina remained together. Ivana wondered what would happen if Fred invited her to America. Maybe it would be best if she let Trina set up an account on the site as well. What could it hurt? She shouldn’t keep her friend from finding love, after all.

  Chapter 5

The next morning the first thing Fred did was called Tommy. Tommy would be able to find out what would need to be done to bring Ivana over to him. Fred felt like he wanted to grab her before anyone else could discover her.

Last night as they were talking she had said. “I only signed up recently for this site. I’ve had so many weird men contact me.”

Fred had laughed and asked her to explain. “Tell me some of them!”

She had laughed as she told him about a few of them. Thankfully, nothing she had said had been true about him! Fred had enjoyed hearing her laugh and learning more about her.

“Tommy did you figure out anything yet?” He picked up his phone to find out what was going on.

“Boss it’s been an hour; you have to give me a bit more time.” Tommy laughed.

“Oh shit, sorry I really thought it had been longer.” Fred admitted.

“I’ll get back with you before noon.” Tommy hung up.

Fred looked at his watch and saw he had only a few hours to go. He headed to the gym in his basement. What better way to forget about the time then to get hot and sweaty.

When he thought of hot and sweaty he thought of how he would love to show Ivana what a real man could do in the bedroom. He had learned that she was a virgin last night and that had pleased him. That meant he didn’t have to match up to anyone else’s performance!

“Ivana I will show you the world. I promise I will make sure you have everything. All you have to do is listen to me and follow my rules.” Fred said to no one in particular.

Getting on the treadmill he turned on the news and listened to the stock reports. He was soon thinking about money and how much he had earned over night. He smiled as all of his stocks had seemed to go up overnight.

Fred loved money, but he think he had found something he might actually love more, Ivana. He knew he wouldn’t be positive about those feelings until he saw her in person. But there was a large part of his heart that was aching at thinking he had to wait all day long to talk to her.

“Is it possible I could love her already?” He asked himself. He had to wonder. You know he’d seen those corny romantic movies with past dates. But that stuff of meeting someone and falling in love right away? Was it even possible?

Fred decided after his workout he might look online to research this idea. Maybe it would give him a clearer understanding of his feelings.

He hoped so because he couldn’t get Ivana out of his mind. As he ran on the treadmill he tried to focus again on the television. But even the pull of the stock report was strong enough to get him to stop thinking about Ivana.

  Chapter 6

“Okay Trina let’s do a profile for you.” Ivana gave in before the night was over. She would love to see the light of love in Trina’s smile.

“Really, you’ll do it for me?” Trina smiled.

“Yes I still think your too young to date. I’d rather keep you with me too. I think I could possibly talk him into it!” Ivana stated.

“I’m 18 years old now. I think I should be able to date, maybe even get married!” Trina pouted.

“You just turned 18 a week ago now. I said dating nothing about getting married!” Ivana laughed.

“Well I have you on a roll; I might as well take advantage of that!” Trina smiled.

“Slow down, I feel like your big sister and mother rolled into one, don’t rush me to change!” Ivana said.

Ivana laughed along with Trina. “We’ll have to take some pictures to put up on your profile!” Ivana told Trina.

“I love pictures! I can always imagine how beautiful I look in them.” Trina smiled.

“You are beautiful!” Ivana stated. She looked at the young girl; she was truly a work of art. Her frail skin was milky white. While her hair was a jet black, it was a shocking contrast that would make Trina stand out in any crowd.

When they went out together to go shopping the men would often look their way. But Ivana wanted nothing to do we these men. They were all poor, she expected better for them both. Now hopefully she could make that happen. Though she knew she was still going to try and talk Fred into flying both Trina and her over to America. “That’s if he sends a ticket for you.” Her mind commented.

  “Do you t
hink someone who loves you will accept all of your imperfections? I mean will they look past certain things about you?” Ivana asked Trina.

“You mean will they look past your scars?” Trina asked.

Though Ivana had only let her touch the scars once when they were younger, Trina had always remembered the moment. It had been a long time ago when she had shared what had happened when she was young with Trina.

“How bad did it hurt?” Trina had asked her as she touch the roughness of the scars.

“Really bad, I can remember screaming in pain for hours on end. Until they would put something in a needle and put in under my skin.” Ivana had replied.

“I’m sorry I wish I could take the pain from you.” Trina had said.

“It doesn’t hurt anymore.” Ivana had said.

“No I mean the mental pain you still feel.” Trina had cried for her friend that night.

Trina touched her leg. “You know those scars aren’t that bad. You only have a few on your body. In fact you were lucky they weren’t worse.”

“They are so ugly though.” Ivana thought of the spots that marked her stomach and back area. To her they looked like they were a mile wide. Maybe Trina was right though they didn’t look that bad.

“Come on let’s do this profile. Tell me what you want in a man.” Ivana moaned as she began filling out the form with the answers that Trina gave her.

Soon they were laughing as they filled out the forms. Ivana felt better as they got closer to being done. “So how much longer is it until you get to talk to Fred again?” Trina asked, as if she was reading her friends mind.

“Another 6 hours or so.” Ivana said sadly.

  Chapter 7

“Hey Tommy what did you find out?” Fred answered the phone.

“Well boss to get the papers together will take a few weeks. We can get a guy on it and try to expedite it. Or you can go even if you want? That way you’ll be there, maybe even marry her in the American Embassy over there. “Tommy stated.
