  Chapter 32

  The next couple of weeks flew by; before she knew it they were boarding Fred’s private jet. Ivana was nervous. She didn’t have Trina to talk to anymore. Tommy and her had become quite the item in the two weeks he’d been there.

  “Maybe I wasn’t kidding about that wedding.” She had told Fred one night on the computer. “They are always together.   “Baby I love you I won’t send you back. Don’t think like that.” Fred said. “Hey get some sleep if you can on the flight. I need to go for a meeting. I’m trying to have everything wrapped up here.”

  “Okay I’ll try, good luck getting everything done.” Ivana said as she clicked off on the phone.

  She sat back and thought about the life that waited in front of her. She wished she could say the fear was gone. But the fact was it ate at her more than ever. Ivana didn’t think she would be able to sleep. She wished she knew whether or not she’d have that darn nightmare again.

  It had happened just the other night. It was her and Fred they were talking and suddenly she was in front of him no clothes on. He was staring at her scars and not saying a word, but the look on his face was enough. It was disgust, horror and a mixture of fear even.

  “What is going on? Why didn’t you tell me about those?” He had asked her in the dream.

  Ivana had woke up crying. Her heart had felt broken from the memory of the dream. It had hurt so much, and she knew it would only be worse if this was a sign of what was to happen.

  She wished that it had never happened. There had never been a fire, and her parents were still alive. But then she wondered if she would have met Fred in that lifeline? If she had to choose which life to live she would still pick this one, even with the fear of the unknown in front of her.

  Her nerves were taunt by the time she got there. As they landed on the ground she felt as if she was going to throw up. Stepping off the plane she saw him waiting for her. He had roses for her and there was a limo behind him.

  Chapter 33

  Fred had barely got what he needed done in time. He had to have the driver break the speed limit to get to the landing strip on time. Thankfully the traffic was decent. But as he stood there waiting for the jet to taxi closer, he was sweating.

  “Calm down now. Come on you know she loves you, she said so.” Fred said, chanting to himself. But his nerves still felt frayed and he felt like he was ready to pop.

  As she walked towards him he smiled. He finally moved towards her, holding the flowers out to her. “Here these are for you my beautiful bride.” He commented.

  “Thank you so much.” She hugged him hoping he wouldn’t feel the bumps of the scars under her clothes.

  “What is it? I figured it was the roses and the limo?” She said shocked.

  Fred smiled, proud of himself and said. “Our wedding, we’re getting married right now!” He announced.

  “What? I just got here, I’m a mess and I smell!” Ivana stated.

  “It’s okay; there aren’t many people who will come. I kept it small. Come on I set it all up for you.” Fred said.

  “Let’s go! I didn’t set up a double wedding, but maybe I should have.” Fred commented as he watched Tommy and Trina.

  “I know they are two lovebirds!” Ivana smiled.

  “I didn’t realize it was like this when you explained it to me though.” Fred admitted.

  “We could always let them get married and you can let me plan ours later?” Ivana tried it, even though she figured it wouldn’t work.

  “Nice try, but I’ve waited for you longer than he has her!” Fred stated.

  On the way to the wedding Ivana continued to talk to Fred about this and how bad of an idea it was. She watched as his face turned red and he looked like he was going to be angry.

  “Look I don’t mind you being upset. But please just understand I don’t want to let you go. I would have waited to have the wedding, but I’ve waited for 39 years to find you. Now I want to make you my wife and share my life with you. I thought it was romantic, and honestly I still think it is.” Fred looked at her and said.

  Ivana thought about it and she had to admit it was romantic. The fact that he basically was choosing to marry her sight unseen was very romantic. It was something like she would see in a movie, like a fairy tale. So maybe it wasn’t exactly like Cinderella, but it was her story and she was happy!

  “I understand. I’m sorry I didn’t mean to seem mean or even inconsiderate. It is so romantic and I’m happy that you will soon be my husband.” Ivana smiled.

  Chapter 34

  The wedding was beautiful. Fred had done a great job of picking out things that Ivana loved too. The decorations were pink and they had dolphins. The flowers were all beautiful.

  “It is so lovely Fred; you did such a good job. Thank you.” Ivana responded.

  “I’m glad you like it. I took every conversation we had and tried to pick out the things I knew you really liked. Like the dolphins and the colors.” Fred stated.

  “You really are so sweet.” She said.

  They were in the back of the limo alone. He had asked her if she minded staying at the house for a few days. “Just to make sure Trina is okay and doesn’t feel like you’re leaving her by herself!” He said.

  “I don’t think she’ll even notice I’m gone!” Ivana commented.

  Fred laughed, “No I don’t think she’ll notice either of us are gone. And honestly I’m not sure she’ll remember my name. When you introduced us she could barely pay attention!”

  “I noticed that too!” Ivana admitted. “But staying at the house is fine for a few days. It will allow me time to adjust to the time difference.”

  “Yeah you may be crashing for a few days. If your anything like I am after I travel like that!” Fred stated.

  Getting home, Ivana looked at Fred and stopped him.

  “Fred I wanted to tell you something before we got married. But I was too nervous. I need to tell you now. I can’t wait any longer. Please try to understand why I didn’t tell you before now though.” Ivana started.

  She saw Fred stare at her, she had his full attention.

  “Go ahead, I’m listening.” She couldn’t tell what he was feeling. She really didn’t know the opposite sex at all. Ivana wondered how to say it, where to start.

  “I’ve told you about my child hood, how my parents died and all that. But I’ve left some of the story out when I talked about it. I maybe shouldn’t have done that though. It’s not fair to you accepting me without knowing all of me.” She stopped trying to figure out what his face was giving away to her. But she only saw a serious look, not one she could tell if it was good or bad.

  Fred wondered what she hadn’t told him. As he listened to her telling him she had scars he relaxed. “That’s it, you were worried about that?” He questioned.
