Sweet on Wilde Page 22

“Ummm…the boxes?” I question his lack of unpacking.

“You said you were going to come this weekend and help me settle in. My bed, however, is unpacked and very available.”

“I would hope so considering you didn’t really pack your bed, and we don’t really need a bed for what you and I have in mind,” I tease and look around the space.

“That is very true.” Parker wraps his arms around me, and pulls my back to his front, his chin resting on the top of my head. “I’m happy you’re here. Can you stay and never leave?”

“You know I can’t.” I turn to face him.

“I know.” He kisses my forehead softly. “So what do we do first?” His boxes are piled in a corner and he’s only unpacked the necessary things. I love that he waited for me to help him, making me a part of the experience and letting me know I’m a part of his life.

“How about you show me your bedroom?”

“Are you trying to seduce me?”

  “I would never.”

  “Yeah, right.”

I squeal as Parker throws me over his shoulder and I slap his ass. He finally puts me down on his bed, my body bouncing on the mattress before it settles. Parker climbs over me, kissing me slowly, his lips molding to mine. His tongue caresses mine before he sucks on it.

I wrap my arms around his back and him pull down by his behind, crushing his hips to mine. I want to feel his weight on me. I don’t want any restraints. I want him, all of him, on me and in me, taking me and claiming me as his while I do the same.

Parker runs his hands inside my shirt and over my stomach bringing chills over my skin. His thumbs brush my nipples over my bra on his way up and he tugs my shirt over my head. I stare up at him and smile. My hand runs along his cheek. “I love you.”

“So do I.” His lips are on me again, trailing kisses up my neck until he reaches my mouth, and we get lost in the movement of our lips.

Parker’s hand moves down my body, placing featherlike teases on my skin, until he reaches the waistband of my jeans. He expertly unbuttons them and snakes his hand inside. I twitch when he brushes my clit ever so lightly.

“Hmmm…” Parker moans. “Love how you react to me,” he murmurs against my lips.

“Right back at you.” I feel his cock hardening against my hip as his fingers move to get more intimate with my sex. He moves the cups of my bra down with his other hand and his mouth moves to my breasts, licking and kissing my skin.

Fire begins to climb up my body, starting at my core and spreading like wildfire. My nipples peak under his skilled tongue and my pussy is wet from the stroking of his hands. Feeling him constricted between my jeans and skin, the movements of his hand are more deliberate.

When I can’t take the heat anymore, I pull down my jeans and underwear, exposing myself to him. He plunges a finger inside of me, sparking my sensitive nerve endings and my desire for him. Having his mouth on my breasts, his fingers deep inside me, and his hard cock against my hip, its restraint tempting me to reach down and free it.

“No,” Parker’s husky voice fills the room and he moves my hand. “I want to please you. I want to taste you. When I’m done, you can have what you want.”

Wide-eyed and panting, I watch him move his lips down my stomach to my hips, sucking along the way, his lips tantalizing me. He blows softly and trails his tongue along my pelvis, right above my sex, and I shudder at the feel of him there. Without warning, his tongue dips to my core, flicking ever so lightly over my clit, teasing the hell out of me.

“Parker,” I say through gritted teeth. I hear his chuckle and he moves lower.

His tongue runs the length of my pussy, slowly, savoring me. I jerk and clench my fists on the sheets. He moves faster and faster, licking my clit and thrusting inside me, alternating to please me completely. My hips buck, seeking more of the pleasure that is coursing through me, inflaming my veins and burning me from the inside out, like someone threw kerosene on me and lit a fire. Wild desire encompasses me. The heat he produces in me is unique and I love him even more for that connection.

Parker thrusts a finger inside me as his tongue licks ferociously and his other hand reaches up for my chest, finding my nipple blindly and twisting it between his fingers. Moving from one breast to another, his other finger continues to fuck me and I am beginning to climb the familiar rollercoaster he quickly has me on. Writhing desperate for my release, I hold his hand on my breast and move it over his. The higher I climb, the hotter I burn, the more tingles I feel all around me. With a final lick of his firm tongue, I scream out his name and buck uncontrollably under him, plunging over the edge and falling, orgasming all over his mouth. He greedily licks me. When his proud smile greets me, I pull him over me and kiss him with white-hot passion.

I quickly undress Parker and reach out to stroke his dick. He groans at the few pumps he allows me before he plunges into my hot pussy, moving fast and hard. I feel every inch of him inside me, continuing to fulfill all of my needs as he chases his own. We move together perfectly, combining our desires to satisfy the other.

Despite the fast movements, the love Parker feels for me is reflected in his eyes as he looks down at me. I pull him down to me, kissing him, loving him all the more. We continue moving to our own beat and my walls contract and squeeze around his cock, finding my second release.

“Oh my…” I’m breathless as I fall deeper, my entire body reacting to the feel of him inside me. No more than five seconds later, Parker is calling out my name, pulsing inside me. The feel of my walls tight and his dick pulsing prolongs our climax, riding it out longer.

We’re both sweaty and panting when we finish. I move Parker’s hair from his eyes and look deep into them. “God, I missed you.”

Laughing, he says, “Do you only want me for the sex?”

I kiss him to shut him up but shake my head. “I really missed you,” I say again with a final kiss.

“I know how you feel.” We lie in bed together for a good part of the afternoon. Parker updates me on the latest news from the team. He finally signed his contract and he tells me the details. He’ll be making a very nice salary, like a lot of money. Besides that, he’ll have more responsibility being the pitching coach for a professional team. He also got his schedule for spring training and I know that will be our hardest feat. Then he’ll travel for a lot of games and that will be even harder. The more details he goes into, the less positive I feel about our relationship.

  “Babe?”

  “Yeah?”

“I asked what you want to do tonight.”

“Oh, sorry, anything is great.” He raises his eyebrows at me and gives me a pointed stare. “Sorry.”

  “Tell me what you’re thinking.”

“It’s just so many things to get used to. Your schedule is going to be insane with all the traveling and hours on the field for practice. That’s not factoring in meetings and time for you to strategize. That leaves like five minutes for you to relax. Not enough time for that, let alone have a girlfriend in another state.”

“You come first. And you’re over calculating. I’ll have plenty of time for all that and you. You’re it for me, Savannah. I won’t let that get ruined because of a job. I don’t care how much they pay me, if I can’t be with you it isn’t worth it. What is the point of following my dreams if I don’t have that one person who I care most about to share it with.”

“Okay,” I nod. “I get that. Before my bakery was my dream and I felt fulfilled with it, but now I get what you mean. You’ve added meaning to that. I can’t make those pumpkin cupcakes without thinking about you. The past days have been hell. I’ve stayed in the kitchen to not get bummed about not seeing you sitting out there smiling at me.”

Parker hugs me tightly and I bury my face in his neck. “What do I need to do to change your mind and have you move out here?”

“Give me time to process this all. I love you. I really do. You know how much I do, but my life is in Tuscaloosa. I’ve accomplished so much there and
I can’t just leave my grandmother. She’s my connection to my parents. She’s my family.”

“We’ll move Caroline out here, too,” he jokes.

“Ha! Good luck with that one.”

“I know. She’s more attached to that place than you are.”

After a shower, we decide to go out for dinner and relax with a few beers. Parker takes me to one of his favorite pubs. We drink and dance. It’s just the two of us tonight and I thank him for keeping it that way. With all the changes going on in our relationship, I am grateful we get this time to ourselves.

“Are you ready?” Parker peeks into the bathroom.

“Yes.” I take one last look in the mirror and turn off the bathroom light. I can’t believe it is already Saturday night. We spent the morning lounging around lazily before unpacking Parker’s things and getting him settled. I did come to Atlanta for another reason besides making love to my boyfriend and being in his arms. Although, I do like that reason so much better.

After we unpacked and set up his apartment, it definitely had a homier feel. The stark living room has life now. I added a few touches to his kitchen, which I’m sure he is indifferent about but I know it would remind him of me. There is a picture of him and me in a wood frame in his room by his bed along with some of his baseball memorabilia. It touched me to see that the baseball I gave him for Christmas was already unpacked next to our picture and he wears the dog tag all the time. I never take off his bracelet, so I loved knowing he was as attached to his keepsake.

“You look beautiful,” he pulls me in for a kiss.

  “Thank you.”

We leave his apartment and head to the restaurant to meet Emily and Wes. I can’t come to Atlanta and not see Emily. Excited about tonight, I hold Parker’s hand and walk into the restaurant happy and confident about us. We had a lot of time to talk today and we are on the same page. We both want this to work. How it will work, I’m not sure, but it will. It has to. He’s my everything and more. And he has yet to send me a dick picture via email. Can’t beat that.

Emily and Wes are waiting for us at a table by the bar in the restaurant. I squeeze Emily in a hug and she laughs. I say hi to Wes and we take a seat.

“Are you happy to be back in Georgia?” Emily asks Parker and he shrugs.

“It could be better.” He looks at me and smiles.

“Well, duh! Anything with Savannah is better, I’m sure,” Emily winks and I laugh.

“Em,” I say, rolling my eyes playfully.

“I dare him to deny it.”

“Not going to. You’re right. Now, would you like to join my evil plan of getting her to move here?”

Emily’s shoulders sag and she looks at him compassionately. “I wish I could. I’d be ecstatic to have her here.”

“So Wes, how’s work?” I switch the conversation and they both laugh.

After dinner, we go to a bar nearby and hang out. Wes and Parker are ordering another round of drinks and Emily and I go to the bathroom. “So how has the weekend been?” Immediate questioning hits me as soon as we’re alone.

“It’s been great, Em. We aren’t the problem, it’s our living situation.”

  “You really won’t consider moving?”

“I don’t know, Em. Yes, I’ll consider it. Yes, I want to be with him and have a future with him.”

  “But?”

“But I love my home. I love my bakery. What am I supposed to do? Give it all up?”

“You won’t be giving it up. It’s still there. You can open another bakery here and have Beth watch over Sweet Delights. You know how much I love our hometown, but I was able to adjust to Atlanta. I’d do it without a doubt, if I could to be with the love of my life.”

“I know,” I sigh and go into an empty stall. I breathe in deeply and exhale before walking back out. Emily is right. Parker is the perfect person for me. He deals with my smartass mouth and holds me when I need his comfort. We have found something in each other that was missing. I’ve put a lot of pressure on myself knowing that in order for this to work it is ultimately up to me. I move or we end. I hate having to make such a life changing decision.

“I don’t mean to pressure you. I just want to make sure you’re not giving up because of one bump in the road.”

“I know.” We make our way back to the table to meet the guys. We take our seats and Parker places his hand on my thigh. He squeezes it and I look over at him. I see the silent question in his eyes and I smile and tug his hand.

“Let’s go dance.” I lead him out to where the crowd is gathering, moving their bodies to the music. Even though it’s a more laidback bar, people still dance and move to the beat that blasts from the speakers. I hold him to me and move my body with his while I kiss him. Someone whistles and I laugh.

We spend the rest of the evening the same way. Wes and Emily come out to dance as well, and the four of us have a genuinely fun time.

When I woke up today, I felt emptiness in my heart. Parker noticed and he smiled sadly at me. “You’re going to do great tomorrow,” I had encouraged him for his first day at his new job.

“It won’t make a difference if you aren’t here to come home to and share it with,” he had responded.

Now that I think about it, tears accumulate in my eyes and threaten to spill over. Trying to be strong for him, I breathe in deeply before making my way out to the kitchen.

“Hey, baby, are you ready for breakfast?”

  “Yeah.”

Parker takes me to an industrial looking restaurant that serves brunch all day. The dark blue wall contrasts with the gray of the rest of the space and vintage tin signs are hung on the walls.

“Hey, Parker,” a waitress greets him and he smiles politely at her.

“Hey, Sue. Can we sit anywhere?”

“You sure can. This must be the lucky lady you told me about. Nice to meet ya, honey.”

I smile. “Nice to meet you, ma’am.”

“A southern girl. Don’t let her get away,” she smiles and moves to pour coffee to the table she’s serving.

“A real keeper,” he whispers in my ear.

“You’re not too bad yourself, Wilde.” He kisses my temple and pulls the chair out for me. “Are you trying to win more points? I’m pretty sure no one holds a candle to you.”

“And they never will. I’ll make sure to keep you happy, always.”

  “You will.”

“If you let me,” he counteracts.

  “Parker…”

“I know. You’re thinking about it, but what good does it do? You should be here with me.”

“That’s not fair. I pushed you to follow your dream. I didn’t guilt you into staying in Alabama.”

“I know. Sorry. I just want you here. I want to be with you and I hate that we have distance between us.”

“So do I.” I lean over and hold his hand.

“Is it that you don’t see a future with me?”

The vulnerability in his eyes kills me. “Of course not! I do see a future with you. It’s a big decision to make and I need to figure it all out. I need to make sure I am okay with moving on from my dream. Yes, I can open a bakery here, but Sweet Delights was my first. I worked hard to get that started. I love my customers and the feel of waking up and serving them each morning.”

“You can expand that dream here.”

“I can, but Atlanta isn’t my home. There’s something special about greeting your neighbors. I would need to talk to my grandmother, too. The same way she’s my only family, I’m hers.”

  “I know…just don’t give up on us.”

“I couldn’t even if I wanted to.” Parker kisses my hand, turning it over to kiss the inside of my wrist. “I love you,” I tell him.

  “I love you, too.”

We both drink coffee and sit back in our chair talking about the upcoming week.

Parker finishes one of his Eggs Benedict and asks, “When will you come visit me again?”

  “As soon as I can.
Let’s see how your schedule pans out before I make any plans.”

“I’ll always make time for you.”

“So you’ve said, but then the players will get all needy asking for your help and the cheerleaders will try to draw you in.” I take a bite of my Challah French Toast soaked in syrup.

“You do know baseball doesn’t really have cheerleaders. I mean, we have a squad to cheer on the team and get the crowd going, but they’re not the typical cheerleaders.”

“Your point? They’ll still try to hook ya.”

Parker laughs and shakes his head. “You’ve seen too many movies.”

“Your point? You still haven’t made one.” I raise my eyebrows impatiently.

“I love you and no one else.”

“That’s better,” I smile and nod with approval.

This weekend was amazing despite the circumstances. I loved being able to spend time with Parker but it was hard to leave. Our last kiss turned into the millionth kiss we shared. I could still feel Parker’s arms around me and his thumb wiping away the stray tears that would fall from my eyes.

Keep it together, Savannah. I take a deep breath, focusing on the road ahead of me. Just three more hours to go…but for what? To get back home to my lonely house and sit reminiscing about the times I spent there with Parker. We have agreed to try the long distance relationship, and he will try to visit me in Alabama, too, but how long will that last. How long will it be before one of us gets tired of traveling back and forth? How long until one of us decides part-time isn’t enough? I want his love full-time, not just when our careers permit it.

What the fuck is wrong with you? I get off the next exit, my GPS going wild trying to reroute me, and I find the next highway entrance that heads back east. My GPS is trying to send me home, but my heart truly knows where that home is.

Now I feel like the characters in those cheesy movies where the main character runs through the airport hoping to catch the love of her life before he boards the plane only to find the plane rolling back on the airstrip thinking she lost her chance. When she turns the corner the guy is standing there staring at her. They run to each other and embrace before kissing and the entire airport claps for them. I have officially become a mawkish fool comparing my love life to those romantic comedies I hate to love.
