Wanted
Page 31
Yes folks, this is why they’ve rebooted Spiderman three thousand times.
My work tends to be original, genre-ific (coining this word, right now!), and expensive to make, so that may be why you haven’t heard of me or my projects (yet). I did create a big budget action fantasy kids show for BBC Childrens called Spirit Warriors a few years back. Chances are however, you haven’t seen it — why haven’t you seen it?! It’s good!
Anyways, after many years of developing many great projects that haven’t made it to the screen for any number of insane reasons, I decided to try my hand at novels. At least here I would be able to tell the stories I want to tell, without worrying about budget constraints, or filming issues, or scheduling slots. I would be able to go inside the heads of the characters and just tell the best damn story I could. And after years of having to work by committee, I was clear that I wanted to self-publish.
My words. My vision. My schedule.
So here we come to Wanted.
I love these three characters as if they were my own children. All are lost souls, in desperate need of a family, though none of them know it yet.
I hope you'll be as thrilled reading their journey as I have been writing it.
And if you have enjoyed the book, please leave your reviews on Amazon, Goodreads, Barnes and Noble, iBooks etc, needless to say, the more glowing, the better! My cats are very attached to their food and I’d like to make sure they’ll have a lifetime supply! — Jo
A self-taught screenwriter who learnt the craft when she locked herself in her room and binge watched studied her favorite genre movies and television shows, Jo’s writing life began in film and television, when she created the ground-breaking, critically acclaimed CBBC action fantasy television series, SPIRIT WARRIORS, which introduced leading actress, Jessica Henwick (GAME OF THRONES, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKES, and the upcoming Marvel/Netflix show, IRON FIST) to the screen. Granted the biggest budget ever given to a CBBC show at the time, it was nominated for Best Children’s Programme at the 2011 Broadcast Awards, with Jo herself, going on to win the Women in Film & Television’s, New Talent Award in 2010.
Since then, Jo has worked with some of the most acclaimed producers in the world, creating big budget projects with even bigger ideas, with several television shows and movies currently in development including supernatural horror, BLOODLINES, and family fantasy, THE MAGIC PAINTBRUSH.
WANTED, is Jo’s first foray into book writing. Next up, she will be working on WHAT DOESN’T KILL YOU, book 1 of the YA supernatural series, TWISTED, where we’ll be introduced to four outcast girls who discover they command some super dark powers.
A self-confessed geek and video gamer, and champion of female driven stories, Jo lives in London and hopes one day to travel across America in a super kitted out, Zombie-apocalypse-ready RV, with her lovely fella, Matt, and three equally lovely kitties.
Psst! Watch t first episode of Spirit Warriors!

Notes
1. Krav Maga is an eclectic hand-to-hand combat system developed in Israel and is mostly known for its extremely efficient and brutal counter-attacks. It’s taught to elite special forces around the world. And how to videos are up on YouTube in case you’re interested.
2. Actually, that was a lie. I was desperate to read The Hunger Games. I’d heard it was amazing and starred a kick-ass heroine like moi! Only I couldn’t afford the added weight to my bag. Not with all the running away we kept doing.
3. I had every intention of paying them back once I made some cash OK?
4. It’s true. Saw it on YouTube.
5. Incidentally, what the heck was up with that? Whoever thought a peace sign should be the go-to photo pose, needed to be smacked upside their head. Every time I see that sign in a photograph, it sets my teeth on edge.
6. Asperger is a developmental disorder characterized by significant difficulties in social interaction and nonverbal communication, along with restricted and repetitive patterns of behavior and interests. At least, that’s what it says on Wikipedia.
7. Yeah, I said it. The L word.
8. In case you didn’t realize, I’m being facetious. Our country would be plenty better if people didn’t regularly kill other people with guns for no reason.
