Memoirs of a Crimefighter

Last call came around. We were all about to head home, and we walked out of the Domino Mask laughing about our friend and all the goofy shit he used to get up to. I was going to start writing as soon as I got back to my place, but right as we said goodnight outside of that old, dirty dive bar, several police cars raced by us with their sirens blaring. We just smiled at each other.

We knew that they were speeding towards another supervillain robbing another jewelry store or holding up another armored car or giving another grandiose speech about ruling the world. There’s always another supervillain. Joe Metal’s exoskeleton boots glowed and he shot into the air in the general direction of the police cars, Insight flew after him bursting with purple telekinetic power and she shouted that the last one there had to buy all the drinks the next time, and I leapt after them with only one thought rattling around in my head. You can go to Jupiter.
