  “That was amazing,” she purred.

His still-semi-hard cock twitched but he fought the urge to rekindle their sex. She needed to know everything was okay. That he enjoyed—no, reveled—in the trust she gave him. She was his to control, to use, to satisfy. The power was heady. He would have to be careful not to get drunk on it.

  “How do you feel?”

“Amazing.” She turned enough for him to see her kilowatt smile. “But next time, I want you to fuck me in the ass.”

“God, woman, are you trying to kill me?” Laughter shook her body. Love spread in his chest for the woman in his arms. The woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with. The air felt cool on his bare skin. The smell of sex and scented candles filled the air. This was what he wanted.

“Mmm—I’m sleepy,” she mumbled. “Thank you for understanding and forgiving me.”

He burrowed his nose into the crook of her neck, taking in the sweet smell of her skin. “There’s nothing to forgive but do not lie to me again. If there is something you need or want to try, tell me.”

“Okay, I can do that.” She nodded.

  “Good.”

The soft sound of her snoring tickled his ear. He lifted her head, careful not to disturb her, and crept into the bathroom. His image in the mirror jarred him. He looked wild, unkempt. Wide, dilated eyes and disheveled hair added to his untamed look.

He hadn’t been completely honest to her about the depth of his upset. It bothered him that she lied. What else could she have been keeping from him for nine years?

Doubt plagued his mind. Shaking his head in a futile attempt to rid himself of his disturbing thoughts, he sauntered over to the shower and turned the nozzle as hot as it would go.

Steam billowed from under the spray and the air felt hot and sticky. His skin smelled of her. To think his angel was a devil just like him. If she couldn’t save him, then what was he to do? There were secrets from before her, things he needed to tell her. But he never felt it was the right time. He wasn’t that person anymore. But tonight proved otherwise. He reveled in the kink she wanted. He wanted to get her to do more.

Raking his hand down his face, he pushed away his thoughts. She wasn’t ready for what he had to offer, for what some would consider sick and twisted. She was an angel just visiting hell and he was the devil, master and corrupter of souls. Was his Eva strong enough? There was one way to find out.

Closing his eyes, he could picture her sleeping contently, her body still flushed from the pleasure he brought to her. What the hell was he doing, worrying about tomorrow when the woman he cherished was asleep and warm in their bed?

He finished quickly and made sure he was completely dry. He smiled to himself—she hated it when he got into bed wet from showering. Careful not to disturb her, he slipped beneath the covers and folded himself around her body to the point where he could barely tell them apart. Burying his face in her hair, he drew her scent into his nose and relaxed. This was his wife, the woman he was lucky enough to consider his. If she was brave enough to share her desires with him then he could do the same. That’s what love was, unconditional and without judgment.

An inner voice spoke of doubt and rejection. What if he was wrong? Would she leave him? Reflexively his body held her tighter. Anything to keep her from leaving him. Seeming to sense his turmoil, she snuggled in closer, as if to tell him she loved him. He scolded himself for even thinking she was so petty. Eva was better than that.

She saved him, his angel. It was decided. He would continue to let her explore her desires and see how far they took her. Maybe she wanted the same thing? She just didn’t know it yet.

He brought his lips to her ear and whispered, “I love you, angel. I will always be here for you no matter what.”

The corner of her mouth lifted to form what seemed like a secret smile. God, he loved this woman.
