Jacob & Aaliyah: You Belong to Me
Page 9
Carefully putting on the finishing touches to my outfit I admired myself in the mirror. After all the months that had passed and being in hiding I still looked damn good. I had dyed my hair jet black and it was cut long in layers. I had my red mini dress and nude shoes to set my look off. My makeup was slayed for the gods as usual and I was certain to be the center of attention for the evening just the way I liked it.
"Babe you ready?" Jacob called upstairs.
"Yes I'm coming. I appreciate you for letting me change at your place." I replied.
"You know that’s no problem." Jacob shouted up the stairwell.
I had meant to ask Jacob when did he plan on asking me to move in. By now we had been seeing each other going on 9 months and I wanted to be with him all the time. From working together to coming home together to the whole 9. I wanted it all. As far as I was concerned, Jacob wasn’t going anywhere so he might as well start making whatever arrangements he needed to so that I could move in with him.
He didn’t know that I knew that Amanda was still blowing up his phone. I was getting really tired of that bitch. She was so desperate and pathetic. I already knew that Jacob had fucked her, but babydoll needed to face it that her time was up. She was just a cheap fuck for one night and was crazy if she thought it was going to turn into anything more. Now that Jacob was mine I was not going to keep putting up with her delusional ass. If she kept trying me I was going to have to take matters into my own hands and that wouldn’t be pretty.
Walking down the stairs Jacob's mouth dropped as soon as he saw me. He couldn’t help but to adjust himself to keep from getting hard at the sight of me.
"Damn you look stunning!" He said kissing me on the cheeks.
"Thank you. You don’t look too bad yourself mister."
Jacob was fine as hell. Tonight he rocked a True Religion shirt and cargos's. With shades. It was nice to see him for once be laid back instead of in a suit. His muscles were glossed up and he smelled so good. I just wanted to say fuck the party and stay home and screw his brains out all night.
"Thanks bae, let's jet.”
Heading on the highway Las Vegas was popping as usual. The lights were shining all bright and people were out everywhere enjoying the nightlife. I loved it.
"Where is the party at again bae?" I asked.
"At the Surrender!" Jacob said.
"Oh yeah, how could I forget? I heard that place is beyond nice." I said getting excited.
It was true Club Surrender was the spot to be at every day of the week. Many tourists came to party there frequently and they were known for being one of top rated clubs in the city, with the best drink specials in town. My intentions tonight were to get fucked up and celebrate. Jacob deserved it and so did I. Being his assistant was no easy task and we both worked our asses off. It was about time one his clients decided to show him some appreciation by doing something nice for him.
Pulling into the parking lot, the place was lit! The line was full in capacity and as soon as Jacob parked his car, we headed straight inside being that we were already on the VIP list. The club was big and spacious with neon lights. Everyone was having a good time. Bartenders flooded the club giving people whatever they desired to drink. I wasted no time ready to head to the bar.
"Jacob you want something?" I asked.
"Oh yeah, get me a sprite." He said looking through the crowd trying to find Shapiro.
"A sprite!? No, I'm getting of you a glass of Jack Daniels.”
"I said just get me a sprite, Aaliyah!" Jacob snapped.
"Excuse me, damn, I was just trying to get you to loosen up. It's your night but whatever." I told him as I left to head to the bar. He had some nerve trying to come up in here with me with an attitude. I didn’t do anything wrong. All I asked was what did he want to drink.
Making my way to the bar I decided to order me something to sip on. I didn’t know that was going on with Jacob, but he wasn’t about to ruin my night with his messed up attitude.
"What can I get you?" The bartender asked.
"Give me a shot of tequila and a Jack Daniels and red bull." I replied.
"Coming right up!" The bartender said, as he hurried over to start working on my drink. Looking across the club, I saw that Jacob had found Shapiro and that there were a couple of other people from the job sitting in a VIP booth.
"Here you go! That will be $10." The bartender said.
Leaving him a 20, I downed the shot and took the drink and made my way over to the VIP section. As soon as I got there I was surprised to see Amanda was there.
"What the fuck is she doing here?" I thought to myself. Okay Aaliyah don’t let her see you show out, just chill and pretend she not even there.
"Hey everyone!" I said as I made it pass the rope.
Colleagues started to hug me all at once. I noticed Amanda was sitting there in the corner glaring at me like she was crazy.
"Hey you!" Jacob said coming up behind me.
"Oh hey." I said dryly.
"Don’t be like that, I'm sorry Aaliyah. I didn’t mean to act like that earlier. I just didn’t wanna drink and felt like you were pressuring me.”
"It's not like you don’t drink so tell me what's the issue?" I asked.
"Look, I didn’t wanna drink because I was thinking about Quentin and what happened that night!" Jacob finally blurted out.
All of a sudden it finally clicked. That’s why Jacob wasn’t so sure about coming out tonight and about drinking. I started to feel bad for wanting to go off on him.
"Baby I'm sorry. I had completely forgot. I hope I didn’t offend you." I said.
"You good. I just wanna ease my way back into having a good time. I know we here to celebrate my accomplishments but I just don’t wanna over do it." He told me.
"I understand babe!" I told him as I gave him a hug.
"You should of understood him the first time, but that’s none of my business." Amanda blurted coming from across the room.
"Excuse me?" I said catching an attitude.
"You heard me. You so ready to turn up and shit you obviously can't see when your man is hurting!" Amanda snapped.
"Wait how does she know about this?" I asked Jacob crossing my arms over my chest heated.
"We were just catching up and I kinda told her how you was trying to make me take some shots. Don’t trip Aaliyah." Jacob tried to plead with me.
At this point I was fuming. If steam could be seen coming through my pores I'm sure everyone could tell that I was livid. How dare this nigga have the nerve to confide in this bitch about something between me and him.
"So you basically you telling her our business?" I yelled causing everyone to start looking.
"Man no, see you assuming shit. It wasn’t even that serious!" Jacob barked back.
"It sounded pretty serious to me when you was telling me about it." Amanda smirked sipping on her drink.
"Bitch, I'm talking to Jacob we don’t need your info. I have enough facts about what's going on." I snapped back ready to break Amanda's neck.
"So while we telling secrets, did you tell her how you kissed me and that we almost fucked right after Quentin's funeral?!" Amanda rolled her neck, as my mouth dropped!
"Now the shut the hell up Amanda! You taking shit to far now! Don’t come in here trying to make it seem like we fucked when we didn’t!" Jacob yelled at her.
"So you meaning to tell me that for months you lied about this old ass looking chick trying to fuck with you again. I asked you straight up what was the deal with her and you lied. You didn’t even tell me that she came by when I got back in town from Detroit so how the hell do I know if she not actually stating facts Jacob?!!" I yelled with my finger all in his face.
"Is there a problem?" The club owner asked as he stepped inside the VIP section.
"No we good over here man, just some females having a lil discussion." Shapiro said trying to diffuse the situation before it escalated.
"Alright cool man, I just don’t need no bu
llshit in here tonight. Y'all can take that outside!" The club owner stated as he made his way back into the crowd to check on other guest occupying his club.
"Aaliyah this is my night. Baby we came to have fun, why you trying to spoil it for me by making accusations over something that didn’t even happen?" Jacob insisted glaring at Amanda.
"Nigga please, the only reason why it didn’t happen is because I told you to stop!" Amanda shot back trying to prove a point. “If I hadn't told you that I didn’t want to you would have taken the pussy with no hesitations!"
"Why would he want some pussy that’s old and ran through?!" I smirked.
"Bitch who you calling old?" She spat.
" Ummm, the only bitch in here rocking grey hair like a grandma!" I shot back.
"Oh that’s it, now you asking for me to put my foot in your ass!" Amanda said as she started to take off her shoes.
"Shit, let's go then!" I said pulling of my earrings and ready to beat her ass. I had enough of Amanda's smart ass mouth. She had already said a little bit too much and I was done spitting words. I wanted to fuck her up for trying to fuck my man behind my back. Lunging at her throat I knocked Amanda to the ground and started to punch in her the face over and over.
" Talk that shit now dumb bitch!!" I roared turning into a mad woman. I was pissed and couldn’t be stopped. It was as if I had blacked out.
As I kept punching Amanda and banging her head against the club floor I didn’t notice the security picking me up off of her or all of the blood spewing from Amanda's mouth and forehead.
"Let me go! I don’t play that shit!!" I yelled as I felt myself having a out of body experience. I was done letting Amanda think she was gonna talk her shit and not get that ass royally whooped. The harder I tried to fight the security guys the tighter they held on to me. It was useless trying to fight them off anymore. Next thing you know I was tossed outside the club and had to keep from stumbling to regain my balance.
"This shit isn’t fair!! Let me back in, my purse and my man is inside of there with that hoe!" I yelled telling the security at the front of the club.
"Listen lady calm down, someone is bringing your belongings to the front! After that you need to leave the area!" The security man warned me.
Why didn’t Jacob at least try to follow me outside. He was probably too worried and trying to check up on that bitch. She would be alright. I rolled my eyes. Shit, she started with me first. So, I didn’t feel sorry for her ass not one bit.
Just as I was about to say fuck it and leave without my shit. I saw Jacob walk outside with Shapiro and Amanda and some security men escorting her to her car.
"Jacob!” I called his name to get his attention. All he did was look at me and continued talking to Shapiro then I saw him pull out his phone and started texting.
My phone beeped within a minute or two later.
Jacob: You have no self control! You acted like an immature child trying to prove a point over nothing
Me: Come over here now! You need to explain why you lied about fucking Amanda!
Jacob: I never lied. Look I told you we didn’t have sex. She came over and tried to fuck me not the other way around and besides that it doesn’t excuse how you handled the situation. Amanda is fucked up in a bad way.
Me: I don’t give a fuck about her! Jacob I told you to come here I'm not playing.
Jacob: I can't come over there. I can't even look at you right now. I think you need to calm down and go home and after that we need to give each other some space. I don’t appreciate the way you handled things tonight. I really saw a side to you that I'm not feeling and I need time to see if I can still see you. Shapiro will see that you made it home safe.
"Jacob! Jacob! Come over here! Are you crazy?! You don’t need any fucking space! I'm not crazy!" I yelled out as I screamed kicking and hitting my car as everyone outside the club including Jacob and Shapiro were looking at me strangely.
"Ma'am you need to get into your car and leave." The security man repeated.
"Fuck you! I don’t wanna party at this wack ass club anyway and fuck you too Jacob!!” I yelled at him as I got into my car and sped off.
Jacob
"Man, what the fuck is really going on? I try to throw you a party and show you a good time and your girl just starts wilding." Shapiro laughed.
"Man, that’s not funny. I didn’t expect for shit to go down like that." I told him.
Amanda was out of line as usual, but I felt bad that Aaliyah fucked her up the way she did. It was as if she was out of control and couldn’t be stopped. If she had kept punching or banging Amanda's head the way that she did she could have made her unconscious or killed her.
"Well shit, your side piece should be good. Imma get one of my people's to take her home. She needs to be checked out cuz she got her ass whooped." Shapiro said as he took out a cigarette and lit it.
"She not my side of anything. She used to work in my office and just wanted to cause a scene." I retorted back not wanting to let Shapiro inside of my business.
He was still a client and didn’t need to know all the details of my life.
"So what you saying you never hit that?" Shapiro asked as his eyes bugged out of his head.
"Look don’t be trying to size me up and my personal life for one of your little books! Stopping asking me questions about my life." I snapped ready to punch him.
"It was just a damn question. I see you in your feelings just a tad bit and that this whole thing was a bad idea. I should have just kept everything professional. I'll just talk you later this week to finalize some business." Shapiro left as he went back inside the club.
I was so embarrassed. Now everyone at the job knew that something had obviously went down between me and Amanda before she got fired. I didn’t want anybody in my business. Shit, Jacob and CO needed to stay professional at all times. Then my mind was still blown how Aaliyah just flipped like a light switch over a big ass misunderstanding. In the months that we had been talking she never just snapped or raised her voice like that in front of me. Which is why I was surprised that she reacted the way that she did. I needed time to regroup. Just when I thought I may have found the one woman that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, I now had major doubts.
Getting into my car I checked my phone. I had 20 missed calls and 12 texts all from Aaliyah.
"What the fuck?" I thought to myself.
Skimming through the texts I looked at my last message and was freaked out.
Aaliyah: Take all the time you need but remember I have no one but you. I'm never going to give you up.
This didn’t sound like Aaliyah to me at all. Why the hell was she tripping so hard for. All I had told her was that I needed my space and she couldn’t just give me a couple of days. She was already blowing up my phone and pressuring me to talk to her. Maybe we had rushed into things way too fast. Before tonight she had never acted this way. Sure, she made smart remarks about Amanda but that was only because Amanda had stepped to her wrong about me when she first met her.
As I started to get on the highway my cell rang again and this time it said unknown.
" Hello..."
"Jacob please talk to me!" Aaliyah begged.
“Aaliyah, really you calling me blocked now? I told you that I needed space."
I pressed.
"Look Jacob I'm sorry, I know I behaved horribly tonight but it just made me crazy thinking if you touched Amanda the way that you touch me." She sobbed.
"I told you nothing happened between me and her and you still didn’t believe me. If you can't trust my word, then we shouldn't be together!” I told her catching an attitude.
"It's not like that at all. I just wanted to show that bitch that you're mine!”
"Look Aaliyah, just give me some time. I'm tired and my head is hurting." I told her trying to get off the phone.
"Jacob don’t you hang up on me!" Aaliyah snapped.
"Goodnight Aaliyah." I said as I hung up in her face and qui
ckly turned my phone off.
Danyelle
Tonight, me and Mac were celebrating our ten month anniversary. I couldn’t deny that shit had been going perfect with us since the day I had moved in. So much had been going on that I had forgotten about Travis and Mac made sure to remind me that he was a thing of my past. I was stuck on pressing charges on Travis but each time I tried to, Mac persuaded me not too. He told me that he would protect me and that Travis couldn’t hurt me anymore. So, I let it go and just decided to pray that he would stay away. Even though it was easier said than done.
"Babe are you okay? You barely have touched your dinner." Mac asked as he noticed that I was playing over my food.
"
" Yeah I guess." I said trying not to show that I was worried.
"Talk to me Danyelle. I can tell when something is off with you. You seem distracted. Tonight is about you and me, but I can tell that your mind is somewhere else. I want you to know that you can tell me anything." Mac said as he reached for my hand.
"I know babe, it's just I know we said we weren't going to talk about him anymore but I'm still not sure if not pressing charges was the right thing to do." I told him.
Really so we at dinner celebrating us and you still worried about this nigga?" Mac said smirking.
"Yes I'm worried. Who knows what Travis could be up to or if he has been released from jail, Mac. At the end of the day you weren't the one who got their ass kicked by a man!" I told him trying not to raise my voice.
"Danyelle I told you not to worry about that shit. It happened months ago and I feel like you honestly worried over nothing. You need to be worried about keeping me happy." Mac said bluntly.
"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked rolling my eyes.
"It means just like what it sounds. I don’t want a woman that’s always gonna be worried and focused on her past. If we gonna move forward, then you gotta stop bringing up Travis. It's not fair that I gotta pay for another nigga's fuck up." Mac told me as he took a swig of his drink.
