Crime Wave

by Adam Carpenter

Frisano opened the door to his room, left the door open. Jimmy looked around, noticed not a single other car in the lot, not even down by the office. He hopped out of the car, made his way quickly to the room. Frisano was standing behind it, and he closed it, turning the lock, just as Jimmy had that night. They were closed off from the world, time hopefully standing still for what he envisioned would be an intense afternoon of discovery and of passion. Of desires finally unleashed.

Frisano pushed him hard against the door, just as he’d done just a few minutes ago. His kiss was hot, and Jimmy accepted it with a growing sense of passion. He gripped at Frisano’s back, pulling him in tight, feeling his package push up against him. He grew excited himself, blood rushing from his brain to his head. He kissed Frisano back, tasting him, feeling his tongue dart inside his mouth. He smelled his manly scent, and he wanted to drown in it. My God, he thought, was this really happening? Would a motel off a county road in Upstate New York be the place where the streetwise private eye and the ambitious, sexy cop did the deed?

Frisano released Jimmy, took a few steps back before removing his belt, his badge. As he watched, Jimmy saw the man shed himself of his cop self, revealing more of the man beneath. He was damned hot, and Jimmy urged him on with a steady nod of his head. Show me, he thought, I want to see it all. A smiling Frisano unbuttoned his dress shirt, pulled it back off his shoulders. It was a tease, really, since he wore a regulation white T-shirt underneath. Still, Jimmy could see dark hair sprouting up from the crew neck. Like the other night, he wanted to tear it to shreds.

  “Take it off,” he said.

But Frisano came at Jimmy again, kissing him, enfolding him in his strong, furry arms. He began to undo the buttons of Jimmy’s shirt, and soon his bare chest was revealed, Frisano kissed his neck, touched his chest, grazing at the dark brown mat he sported. Jimmy attempted to do the same with Frisano’s shirt, but he pushed him back. Just as he’d done the other night. Was Frisano shy about his body? It was strong and muscular, not a trace of fat visible beneath all that hair. His hold was powerful, but Jimmy maneuvered to where he pulled the tucked shirt from the waistline, determination winning out over whatever Frisano was feeling. Jimmy lifted the shirt, his fingers scraping against the man’s back.

Frisano suddenly pushed him to the bed. He sunk into the old mattress. Wiping at his lips, Jimmy said, “Take your clothes off, Frank. Let me see you.”

Wasting no more time, Frisano yanked off his T-shirt, his chest on full display. The hair was dark and thick, a dense coating over his entire chest and stomach, and he also saw whorls of hair spiral over his shoulders. Jimmy urged him to the bed. Frisano climbed atop him, kissing him again. Jimmy wrapped his arms around him, pulling him ever closer, tighter. What his hands felt was yet more hair, a generous pelt across his back. Jimmy’s fingers dug in deep, hungry and horny for this furry beast upon him.

  “Oh, Frank, I can’t wait. I need you…”

Frisano broke their kiss, looking down at Jimmy. “Actually, it’s the other way around.”

Surprise widened Jimmy’s blue eyes, but they sparkled too with alluring promise as bright sunlight slipped through cracks in the curtains, laying bare the truth between them. Jimmy nodded, and he flipped this man over. Taking control, he undid the zipper of his slacks, pushed then down, removing shoes and socks as he did so. Another moment and Frisano was completely naked on the bed, too, a sexy, hairy sight for Jimmy to behold. No shit, this guy was all Italian. Jimmy rose from the bed, shucking himself of the remainder of his confining clothes, and as he did so, Frisano pushed back the blanket and slid in under the warm sheets. Jimmy thought it an odd move, again questioning Frisano’s security over his own body. Like he was hiding.

  “Do you have…”

Frisano nodded, pointed toward the bathroom. “In my toiletries kit.”

When Jimmy returned from the bathroom, he was primed, his body cautious but more than ready. He slid in beside Frisano, running a hand across his broad chest before kissing him. Then they positioned themselves, Frisano staring up at him. Jimmy connected with those dark, soulful eyes, and as he did so he entered him, slowly, wondrously, feeling a rush of heat seal them as one. Jimmy hovered over him, his palms flat against the mattress, his biceps stretched to the max. He felt a pull at his chest, Frisano digging in as Jimmy moved his hips. A gentle thrust allowed a moan to escape Frisano’s lips.

“Oh, Jimmy, that’s it. Do it now, give me your body. Give me your cock.”

A fresh wave of passion consumed him, and suddenly, Jimmy erupted with eager motions. He grunted, and he pushed, thrust again, feeling himself getting sucked in deeper. Frisano urged him on, his words like fuel to Jimmy’s actions. He was on fire. They lost themselves then in the moment, and more, as the moments turned to minutes, time meaning nothing. It was just them, their hot bodies, their heat and their sweat, finally unleashed. Jimmy’s body grew slick with sweat, and he could feel Frisano’s sharp nails digging into his moist back. It felt like he would leave scratch marks. As last though, he felt a hot sensation rip through him, and he cried out as he pushed deep inside once more. His body then erupted with a blinding passion, orgasm ripping through him. Frisano kissed him, and he felt his body kick in gear one last time, the final burst of heat escaping him.

“Oh shit, oh shit, Frank. Christ, you made me blow.”

“So did you,” he said, Jimmy looking down at the spilled come sticking to his stomach.

“Oh, nice,” he said with a smile and a kiss. “Very sexy.”

“You’re sexy,” Frisano said. “So good, too. Fucking fantastic.”

Sliding out, only to burrow in next to Frisano, he again brushed at the lush, black carpet that adorned his chest. “Now what?”

“Jimmy McSwain, we’re just getting started.”

  CHAPTER ELEVEN

They were reaching their end, again, the walls of the tiny motel room absorbing their urgent cries and insistent, rocking motions. Frisano straddled Jimmy’s body, lifting up and sliding down, stroking himself. Jimmy thrust his hips upward, shoving himself in. Frisano reacted with a hearty grunt. Jimmy reached up, running a hand through the blanket covering Frisano’s chest, tweaking a nipple, encouraging him to climax. He wanted to see it, to have it blast all over his own chest. He could tell Frisano was close, his eyes closed, his motions fast, nearly violent.

“Oh God, oh God, Jim…Jim, one more…yeah that’s it.”

Jimmy thrust upwards, a hard, fast movement that suddenly had him feeling wondrous all over; Frisano’s cries matched his, and soon, Jimmy released himself inside Frisano, and the sexy, surprising cop unleashed his own. Their bodies, slick with sweat, went slack after orgasm, and Frisano lifted himself off, fell back against the bed, staring up at the ceiling as his chest heaved in search of air. Jimmy leaned over, smiled at the man beside him. He kissed a nipple, tasting the beaded sweat in his chest hair.

  “Hmm, salty.”

Frisano kissed his lips. “Hmm, sweet.”

For a moment, the two men stared at each other as though words didn’t exist; they weren’t necessary. All was spoken from their eyes. Another kiss followed, with Jimmy absently brushing at his chest. It was so thick, so dense, he loved how rough it felt when they had sex, how soft it felt now in the quiet of the room.

“You surprised me, Frank,” Jimmy said.

“Why, because you were the top.”

“Well, yeah, sort of,” Jimmy said. This man, who was so virile, so ambitious in his daily life, to relinquish control as he had, Jimmy would never have imagined it. It had made their time that much sexier.

“Sometimes, you get tired of commanding people,” he said. “Sometimes, you have to let go and see where the world takes you.”

“That sounds like fantasy, just giving up control like that,” Jimmy said.

  “You should try it.”

Jimmy allowed a slight grin. “Yeah, hard for me.”

  “So, what’s next?”

  “Af
ter what we just did, twice, just laying here is good. Real good.”

Frisano nodded, but then looked away, grabbing at a blanket and pulling it up over his shoulder. It was a strange move, as though he were burrowing, burying himself. But from what? Was he suddenly ashamed of what they had done? It was a curious move, not unlike each time Jimmy had maneuvered to get Frisano’s shirt off. He’d thought it shy at first, but maybe it was something deeper, a fear of revealing too much? Surely it couldn’t be modesty, not with a body like his.

“Can I ask you a question?”

“Questions can always be asked. I do it for a living. But in my line of work, I find many don’t like to provide answers.”

Jimmy knew all about that. You say “Private Investigator,” people clam up.

“You seem…I don’t know what the right word is, reticent about taking off your clothes. The night in my office, I had to tear the shirt to get it off your body. And even a little while ago, you backed up when I was lifting it up. It’s an odd move considering what we did each time. We showed a lot more of ourselves than our bodies. This is just the coating,” he said, sliding fingers across Frisano’s arm. “We showed each other what’s underneath. Desire, heat, our attraction to each other. Do you think I wouldn’t like your body?”

“It has quite a coating,” he said.

Jimmy smiled and said, “Yeah, and it’s sexy as hell.”

He drew a hand across Frisano’s broad chest, indulging its furriness. As he followed the trail downward, he noticed an unusual bald spot on the left. “A bit high for an appendectomy.”

“Yeah,” Frisano said, his voice indicating he didn’t want to talk about it.

  “That’s a scar, isn’t it?”

He shrugged it off like it was nothing. “Badge of honor, the boys in blue call it.”

  “You were shot?”

“Stabbed, actually,” Frisano said. “I lost hold of a perp, and he squirmed away. I went for him again, didn’t see the knife he’d pulled out. It was more a case of me running into the knife than him attacking me. First year on the job, my blues became red real fast. I swore to never lose sight of a perp again.”

“Well, I think it’s sexy, a slight imperfection on an otherwise gorgeous chest.”

“Hmm, I prefer yours. Just enough hair to cover your chest, a sexy trail that leads down. Not so much you cough up a furball.”

Jimmy let off a quick laugh. “Yeah, I was a late bloomer. Through the academy, I looked like I was a kid, no more than twelve. Peach fuzz. Then one day, I sprouted.”

Brushing a hand across Jimmy’s chest, he said, “I was shaving by fourteen, had a full rug on this chest by seventeen. Everything else, it sprung later. Strong genes in my family, they were not to be denied their full DNA strength. Father, brothers, the works. To what you said earlier, my shyness. It’s a big deal to me, to reveal myself to another person…another man. When you stand naked, it’s not just vulnerability on display. It’s your soul. To lay here with you, it’s a big step for me. It goes against the cultural macho image I’ve been taught my whole life. According to my parents, I should be married, should have kids. A new generation of Frisanos. Instead…”

  “Instead, you’re here with me.”

  “Yeah.”

The word was ineffectual, but the emotion behind was tinged with a mix of regret and a desire to be someone other than who he was.

Jimmy leaned forward and licked at Frisano’s chest, as if prove how hot he thought the fur was, how attracted he was to him. He came away with a stray hair on the tongue; he pulled it off with a fingertip. Then he kissed him, his hand caressing his rough cheek. “Frank, I like you, and it doesn’t matter to me if you’re as hairy as a bear, or baby smooth, or if you have a third eye that can see inside my heart. It’s been a long time since I felt this way about anyone. You just happen to be that man, in all of your manly glory. When I ripped open your shirt that first night, I just wanted to lose myself. I still do.”

Frisano stared directly into his eyes, but Jimmy was watching subtle tics alter his facial expression. His Adam’s apple bobbed with sudden emotion. Jimmy feared their intimate moment was soon ending, and he wondered if it was something he’d said. Had he gone too far, too soon, in telling him how he felt? “If there’s something you want to get off your chest, so to speak, do it.”

“Jim, you said it yourself, I’m a driven man. I’m ambitious.”

“Yeah, it’s part of what makes you so sexy. You’re strong, you fill up a room.”

“With the NYPD brass, I need to keep my nose clean, my record spotless.”

  “I get that. Look, Frank…”

“Let me finish, Jim. What we shared just now, it was great. It’s been too long, like you said, that I let myself lose control. I needed it, especially after the pressures building up around the deli murders. The fact that I took you here to this motel—before the case was solved—scares me. But there’s always cases, new ones, old ones, those we solved but with lingering questions. But this time, I let my feelings take precedence over the job. Don’t get me wrong, I have no regrets, I couldn’t,” he said, kissing Jimmy on the lips. “You were too good. So sure of yourself, so perfectly sexy. But when all is said and done and Assan is behind bars, I’ll have another notch on my belt. My ticket to One Police Plaza punched one step closer. That’s what commands my attention.”

Jimmy felt his own nob of emotion in his throat. He knew the next words.

“What I’m saying…Jim, I could never date you, not publicly. Holding hands, going to the movies, whatever. It’s just not possible. You get that, don’t you?”

“Yeah, I get it,” he said. “Truth is, Frank, we’re on the same page.”

His remark took Frisano by surprise, his body inching away. “How so?”

“I told myself a long time ago, I would never date a cop,” he said. “I could never fall in love with a man with a badge.”

Silence took command of the room, both men staring at each other. Jimmy hated what he had just said, true as it was. But if Frisano was allowed to be honest, then wasn’t he too? He tried to reach over to Frisano. The man pulled back, the bed sheet falling away to reveal his strong upper chest. Here were two men who had just exposed their bodies, and their desires, their inner most expressions of sexual release. Yet ,Jimmy realized, they barely knew each other. Was it just lust they had given in to, and now nothing remained between them? They knew they couldn’t be together, not in the long run. So what now? Who made the first move? And was that first move to get up out of bed and button back up, emotions hidden beneath the layer of clothes? Was it the start of their end game? Or did one take the brave step forward and admit that he was content with how things were. They could meet in secret, they could share moments like today. Jimmy wondered if he could live that way. He was as driven as Frisano, and he’d already had his heart broken once. Here was a chance to escape the deeper emotions and just go with the flow.

  “Frank, I’m sorry for what I said…”

“No, it’s truth. I respect that.”

  “I don’t want…this, it shouldn’t end.”

“When we walk out that door and back to reality, Jim, what do you think will happen?”

“I don’t know. No one can know. That’s later. This is now. Let’s not go out that door.”

Jimmy slid over, his body tight against Frisano’s. He pulled him closer, the heat between them growing. Tentatively, Jimmy went in for a kiss, Frisano finally accepting it. Then Jimmy burrowed further beneath the blankets, pulling Frisano atop him. Sliding his hands all over his hairy, muscular back, Jimmy’s eyes revealed everything that he wanted.

“All of you,” he pleaded, his eyes sparkling with renewed desire. He reached beneath the blankets, his hand wandering south. Suddenly grabbing. “And I mean, all.”

Frisano’s darkness lifted, his body shifted, furry arms bulging with corded muscle. “Why, Jimmy McSwain, you dirty boy.”

  “You ain’t heard nothing yet,”
he said.

Words died away into the ether, the moment consuming them. Jimmy opened himself up, and Frisano took charge this time. If their first time together had been tentative, and their second had been indulgent, this third was like a freshly stoked fire. Flames erupted. Their bodies, slick with sweat, hair matted, pulled and licked, their cries a gesture of pleasure, time slipped away from them. Soon, the long afternoon began to wane, shadows fell across the room, and still they remained locked in urgent coupling, the worries of tomorrow shut out by the demands of today.

As Frisano thrust above him, his powerful body in lustful charge, Jimmy McSwain had to bury the words that formed on his lips. No, he told himself repeatedly, he could not fall in love with a cop, he could not fall in love with a cop….

But damn, this was too good.

Dusk had begun to settle over the region, just as Jimmy stood at the window of the motel room, watching the sun began its natural arch westward. He heard the door to the bathroom open and saw Frisano emerge, fully dressed in his captain’s uniform. The bars on his epaulettes were shiny and impressive, another reminder—not that he needed one—of Frisano’s career choice. Jimmy had already dressed, so the two of them were ready to go.

  “I’m starving,” he said.

“Good, maybe Alicia House will feed us. It should be dinner time when we arrive.”

Jimmy went over to the table and stuffed his charged iPhone into his pocket. He’d heard nothing from his mother all day, so he had to assume she was busy dodging Grandma Hester’s insults. While Frisano had dressed, he’d mapped out the course that would bring them to Alicia House, where they hoped to speak with the resident director, who had been forewarned by Warden Daniels to expect them at some point.
