Max nods on my right. “Yes.”
“And mine,” Thad says, patting my left thigh.
I twist my neck, glancing between the both of them as they smile with confidence. “Both of you?”
“Yes,” they say.
“Then, I’ll have… two boyfriends.” I say it out loud to see if it seems more real that way.
Nope. It doesn’t.
“Is this a penis thing?” I ask them. “You guys worried you’re not as… big as the other or something?”
Max shakes his head. “No.”
“Not an issue,” Thad says. “We already checked that.”
“Thad.”
I snort. “You’ve already checked that?”
Max leans over to glare at Thad. “Can we not?”
“When?” I ask.
Thad shrugs. “Twelfth grade?”
Max sighs and sits back.
I laugh. “You guys measured your penises in twelfth grade?”
“Doesn’t matter. It’s not an issue,” Max says. “We’re the same size.”
Thad raises a finger. “Not true. I’m girthier.”
“By two millimeters,” Max argues.
“Still counts.”
“Barely.”
“Barely counts still counts.”
I furrow my brow. “Boys are so weird,” I murmur.
Thad takes my hand. “It’s okay, milady. We both know the difference those millimeters make.” He brings my fingers to his lips and kisses my knuckles.
Max shows a sly grin. “I mean, sure, yeah, if you absolutely need those two millimeters to get the job done then that’s what you need.”
I lean back as Thad twists toward Max.
“I don’t need the millimeters to get it done,” Thad argues. “They’re just nice to have and I bet Phoebe would agree.”
I cringe. “Please don’t bring me into this—”
“Hey, I’m not saying it isn’t nice,” Max says. “I’m sure it’s lovely.”
“You’re damn right my dick is lovely.”
My eyes roll. “Guys…”
Max gestures at me. “But it takes more than a lovely dick to satisfy Phoebe.”
Thad laughs. “I haven’t heard one complaint, man.”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Not one.”
“You sure about that?”
“Stop!” I roll forward, twisting up in the bed sheet as I attempt to slide off. “No. Nope. We’re not doing this…”
I take the sheet with me as I slump to the floor with a loud thud.
They lean over to peek over the edge.
“Whoa,” Thad says. “You okay, Pheebs?”
Max cringes. “Need some help?”
“No!” I stand, still tangled up. “No. I don’t need help. I’m fine.” I push the hair from my eyes, clearing my view of their confused expressions.
Thad raises a brow. “You sure?”
I exhale hard. “No.”
“What’s wrong?” Max asks.
I look at both of them. Both buck naked on my mattress. Both staring at me as if I’m the only woman in a hundred miles.
“You’re best friends,” I say. They nod. “And I’m just… there’s one of me. You realize that, right?”
“Yes. We know that, Phoebe,” Max says.
“Then, how can you possibly not see where this is going to end up?” I ask. “This can’t end well for any of us.”
“We want you.” He shrugs. “The rest will work itself out.”
“But…” I adjust the sheet so I can actually walk. “Isn’t this going to affect your friendship?”
They look at each other, pensive and silent. I wonder how much they’ve thought this through, if at all.
“I don’t want to be the girl that comes between two friends,” I say, looking down.
“Phoebe…” Max stands up. “You won’t be.”
“Well…” Thad tilts his head. “In a way… she kind of already has once or twice…”
Max glares at him.
I let out a quick laugh. “I’m serious.”
“And so are we,” Thad says. “Max and I have already talked about this. No needless drama. No petty jealousies. We’re all-in here. With you. Together.”
Max steps forward to take my hand. “All-in, Phoebe.” He entwines our fingers. “If it’s what you want, then it’s what we want.”
Thad slides off the bed and moves toward me. “So, what do you want, Pheebs?” he asks.
He extends his hand to me. I stand still, fingers still clutching the sheet against my naked body while my heart pounds and my vision blurs.
They want to share me. Me. The loser of Belle Academy, Class of 2010. I’m not sure why I still care about that. I mean, I don’t still care. I’m not that girl anymore and, somehow, they’ve opened their eyes to that. They see me. Me.
The boss-ass bitch of Burbank.
I let go and take Thad’s hand. The sheet tumbles down over my curves, exposing my breasts and body but their eyes don’t drop from mine.
“Okay,” I hear myself say. “If you guys can promise me that something as unbelievably stupid as two millimeters won’t tear you apart… then, I’m all-in, too.”
Their hands tighten around mine.
“Are you sure?” Max asks.
“Yes,” I say. “I want both of you.”
He leans in for a kiss, holding it for a few seconds before leaning back to give Thad his turn. Thad smiles and cups my cheek before giving me a firm peck.
“So…” My lips twitch. “Do this make you guys… boyfriends?”
They both pause, narrow eyes shifting toward each other but never quite landing.
“No,” Max says.
“Not at all,” Thad adds.
I laugh. “Okay, then.”
“We’re not in a relationship with each other,” Max says. “We’re just both in a relationship with you.”
“Right,” I nod, “but you’ll often be having sex with me at the same time, presumably, if tonight is any indication. Isn’t there a level of intimacy there that—”
“No,” they both say quickly.
I pull back my hands and hold them up in surrender. “All right. Not boyfriends. Just girlfriend with two boyfriends.” I bite my cheek. “Although… I wouldn’t mind if you two did do some… things.”
Thad raises a brow. “Some things?”
“You know… for me.”
Max leans back, his eyes laser-focused on me. “Like what?”
“It…” I shift slightly. “I’m just saying, it might be sexy if you guys… kissed.”
He doesn’t move. “You want us to kiss?”
I give a light shrug. “Well, considering everything I’ve done for you two, it seems like the least you could do for me.”
They stand still. I twiddle my thumbs, glancing around as I try and hold back the grin twitching the corners of my mouth.
Thad nods. “Okay…”
Max’s head snaps in his direction. “Seriously?”
“She’s got a point, man.”
He blinks. “You want to kiss me?”
“I want to make my girlfriend happy,” Thad says. “If kissing you makes her happy then I will take that bullet.”
I bite my cheek even harder.
Max exhales as he looks at me, his face shifting from horror to reluctant acceptance. “Okay…”
“Okay?” I ask.
“Okay…” He clears his throat. “I will kiss him if it’ll make you happy.”
Thad turns toward him, standing tall like a warrior as Max shifts to face him. “Just one kiss,” he says.
Max nods. “Just a little peck.”
“What’s one peck between bros?”
“No big deal.”
“Exactly.” Thad cracks his knuckles. “We got this.”
“For the lady,” Max says.
“For the lady,” Thad repeats, winking at me.
I bite my thumb, staring hard at them as they drift close
r. Two handsome men willing to do anything I say to make me happy. A shiver rolls along my spine, tempting a deep, hidden urge within me. I lean forward as they do, pursing my lips and waiting for the second when theirs finally… Oh.
Oh, no.
Oh, god. No.
“Stop!” I wave my hands and they halt within an inch. “Okay, wait, wait, stop, stop, stop. Don’t. Don’t kiss. Don’t do that.”
They pull back from each other and breathe out as they put ample space between them.
“Are you sure?” Thad asks. “I was ready to go for it.”
“No, you weren’t,” Max says, pointing a finger. “You were this close to bolting for the door.”
“I was not.”
“Yeah. That…” I shake the image from my head. “That looked really weird. Don’t do that. Ever. That, uh… that was my bad. Not boyfriends.”
“That’s right,” Thad says.
“Just girl with two boyfriends.” I smile and bend down to pick up my sheet. “I think that’ll be just fine.”
Twenty-Six
Phoebe
So, what’s it like to have two boyfriends? In a word…
Exhausting.
I can’t shake them off me, even if I wanted to. It’s been one full weekend and I can’t say I’ve had a private moment to myself when my skin wasn’t being touched in some way. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve had sex and with whom.
Exhausting.
And I love it.
But just like all things in life, there’s one thing that always comes up to bring all fun and excitement to a damned standstill.
Monday.
I feel their hands on me when I wake up. Max lies behind me with an arm wrapped around my waist. My hand sits in Thad’s, fingers entwined. I give my past self a pat on the back for going with the queen-sized bed or else it would be far more squished than it is right now.
I shift onto my back, trying not to bump into Max but his eyes flutter open anyway. He looks at me and smiles without saying a word. I don’t say anything, either. We don’t need to.
He leans in and kisses me as he rests a hand on my exposed breast. I hold back a chuckle, the one that hasn’t quite gotten used to the idea of Max Monahan feeling me up.
Moving slowly, Max pushes above me and settles between my knees. I glance at Thad sleeping beside us and Max lays a finger to his lips, signaling me to be quiet. I bite my inner cheek, holding the laughter at bay, as Max kisses me again.
I open my legs a little wider to him. He slides closer, aligning me for the taking, as his morning wood touches my folds. If there’s one thing my boys have, it’s stamina.
His tip burrows in me and my jaw drops. Max lays a finger to my lips, reminding me to be quiet with a quick glance at Thad. I hold it all back behind a smile and I quiver beneath him as he slides the rest of the way in. It feels so warm and wet inside. I’ve been in a constant state of arousal since Friday night. Stamina, indeed…
Max bucks his hips slowly, grinding me against the mattress while I hold my tongue. I look at Thad but he’s still sleeping. Soon, he’ll wake up. He has to feel the movement of our bodies eventually. The thought spurs a hundred ideas in my head. Part of me wants him to wake. I want him to watch and then I want him to fuck me, too.
Max buries his face in my shoulder and grunts softly in my ear. He’s moving faster now, racing with himself to finish before we get caught. Caught. Is that concept even possible when you’re all in this together?
The excitement runs deeper in me. Climax twists in my gut, just begging to break free. I try to hold back, knowing I won’t be able to keep quiet for very much longer. His cock owns me. He pumps me a little harder, shaking the bed, but it only takes a few before I come. He stops immediately and watches the pleasure crease my brow as I bite into my tongue.
“Shhh…” he whispers, laughing softly.
I look to Thad. Still sleeping.
Max kisses me and pulls out of me, making me whimper. “Can I use your shower?” he asks.
I tilt my head. “You aren’t going to finish?”
He grins. “I didn’t do that for me.”
He lays one more soft kiss on my collarbone before sliding off the bed, his erection leading the way toward my bathroom.
I lie back and stare at my ceiling, exhaling every bit of air from my lungs. “Wow…” I breathe.
If this is what my Mondays are like from now on, then—
Thad moves and I go frozen. He twists his head around, eyes just barely open as he looks over at me. He smiles just like Max did and it morphs into a grin the second he hears the shower head turn on.
He wraps an arm around my waist and pulls me in to kiss me. My entire body buzzes from the climax still lingering in my nerves.
“By the way…” he whispers. “I heard that.”
My breath catches as he kisses me. I wait, my lips hesitating to explain.
Thad lays his hands on my wrists and pins me to the bed beneath him. “Did you like him fucking you like that?” he asks me.
“Yes.”
He slides his lips along my neck. “Do you want me to fuck you like that?”
I nod as my tongue turns to jelly in my mouth. God, I want him. I want to feel him so badly.
Thad glances over his shoulder to the bathroom. “Do you think I can make you come… before he gets back?”
I tremble at the thought. “Yes.”
He presses his rock-hard cock against me. “Yes… what?” he asks, smirking.
I kiss him, unable to stop myself. “Yes, sir.”
Thad guides himself inside my still dripping slit. Pleasure resurges inside of me and I arch my back as it rockets up my spine.
He doesn’t hold back like Max did. He takes advantage of the shower’s noise and fucks me hard enough to make the bed tap lightly against the wall.
I moan once and he lays his hand over my mouth.
“Shhh…”
I dig my nails into my back, keeping one ear on the bathroom as he rails me. He moves quickly, filling me over and over again as the tension peaks in me.
“Thad,” I moan against his hand.
He smiles and removes it so he can kiss me. “Good…” he whispers. “I can feel it. You’re so close…”
I look to the bathroom. Water still flows in the shower but Max won’t be there for long.
“Look at me,” Thad says. “Relax and focus on me.”
I gasp as my clit throbs.
“Come for me, Phoebe. Now.”
It breaks in me. Orgasm shakes me from my head to my toes and Thad watches it spread with a smile on his face.
The shower turns off and he halts his thrust.
“Damn…” he says. “Just in time.”
I twitch. “Yeah…”
Thad kisses me once more before rolling off me. His head hits his pillow and he pretends to be asleep.
Max emerges from the bathroom with a towel wrapped around his waist. His damp skin shines in the sunlight coming through the windows.
Thad grunts beside me and stretches out before sitting up and feigning a large yawn. “Good morning,” he says.
“Morning,” I say.
“Hey,” Max says.
“I slept… like a baby.” Thad throws his feet to the floor and stands up. “Still some warm water, Max?”
Max nods. “Yep.”
“Nice.” He looks at me. “Do you mind?”
I try to ignore the half-erection pointing at me. “No. Not at all.”
He winks at me before disappearing into the bathroom. The shower turns on again.
“You okay?”
I flinch and look over at Max. “Of course.” I clear my throat. “I’m just fine.”
He nods and starts searching the floor for his clothes.
Oh, yeah. Definitely a fan of Mondays now.
I push up onto the tips of my toes so I can wrap my arms around Thad’s neck a little tighter. I inhale the clean smell of his shirt and hold my breath for as l
ong as I can. “When are you coming back?” I ask.
“A few days, maybe,” he answers.
“Can’t narrow that down for me?”
He pulls back and offers a smile. “Unfortunately, no.”
I look down, taking in the sight of him in his suit. My eyes land on the suitcase at his feet. Everything he needs all in one place. Except me.
He kisses my forehead. “I’m going to call you every night. All right? You won’t even know I’m gone.”
My heart speeds up. “Promise?”
“I pinky promise.”
He gives me a long, lingering goodbye kiss. His arms crawl around my back, drawing me against his body, and I drift to him as close as possible.
Max clears his throat.
We break our kiss and look at him standing a few feet away.
“I have a meeting,” he says, flashing an impatient wink.
Thad shakes his head at me. “For you, I’d happily be late to every meeting.”
I chuckle and lay my finger over his mouth to stop him from leaning back in. “Go,” I tell him. “Be safe up there.”
“I always am.” He picks up his suitcase. “Bye, Max.”
Max waves his hand. “Bye.”
I keep a nervous eye on Thad as he walks out of my loft and closes the door. It’s strange. He’s flown how many times in his career? I didn’t care at all until now. I didn’t know him until now…
“Hey.” Max draws my attention. “He’s gonna be fine.”
I nod, feigning a little nonexistent confidence. “I know.”
“I used to get worried about him, too.”
“You did?”
“Well, yeah. It’s Thad. Operating a plane. I just about shit myself the day he enlisted in the Air Force. May have even tried to talk him out of it once or twice.”
My guts churn. “Yeah…”
“But…” He nudges my chin. “Thad knows his shit, Phoebe. He can be silly but if I’m ever in a life-or-death crisis, he’s the first person I’ll call.”
I let out a sigh of relief and smile. “Thank you. That’s comforting.”
“Good.” Max nods. “So, how quickly did he jump you after I got in the shower?”
My smile falls. “Uh…”
He laughs and steps in to wrap his arms around me. “That quick, huh?”
I wince. “How did you know?”
