Taken Love

“Yes, God yes, Johnathan.” She cried, and I placed the ring on her finger, my ring, and she bent down on her knees and kissed me. She trembled and moaned as she held me close to her, kissing me deeply. I couldn’t contain the emotion I felt, to know that she was completely mine again, as I kissed her back. She was mine again, and I was hers. Our destiny was sealed, and it was forever.

We’d left the school, and went to her parent’s house, to share the good news. I was expecting to have a hard time being accepted, but after they saw how happy Kathleen was, they welcomed me back in with open arms. She couldn’t stop grinning as she showed her ring to her mother and sister, she couldn’t stop laughing at the jokes her brother and I told. She would look at me, her eyes twinkling, and my heart would stop. Every time. She was everything I’d always wanted and needed, and I knew that I was a very lucky man. She was mine again, and with that, her family accepted it and us. In my opinion, they accepted us planning to marry a little better this time around. Maybe because they didn’t know that we never divorced, I don’t know how she managed to pull that one over their eyes, but it made it all the more special. Her father and I talked outside, where he made me promise to never hurt her again. He didn’t have that issue to ever worry about again. I looked him in the eyes, and said, “Her pain is my pain. Her happiness is my happiness, sir.” I deadpanned. After I told him this, he stared at me in silence for a few minutes, he then smiled, extending his hand out to me. “Now that sounds like a man who will cherish my daughter with his life. You’ve got my blessing, Johnathan.” He stated, and we shook hands.
“Thank you, sir.” I replied.
“Since you two were never divorced, let's skip all that, and how about you call me Dad?” I smiled, and felt a warmth overcome me. He knew what it meant to hear that from him, and we hugged, he patted me on my back. “Take care of her son. Make her happy.” He murmured.
“I will, and thank you for that… Dad.” I patted his back in return, and I turned around to see her looking at me through the screen door, smiling. I smiled and winked at her, making her blush deeply. Who was that happy woman staring back at me? The one with eyes filled with love, admiration, and fire?
I’ll tell you who she is… My wife!
Epilogue
MOM, IT’S FINE, I can wear it like this.” I pulled the veil behind my face again, still wondering how we could plan a destination wedding in a little over two weeks’ time. My destination wedding.
“Kat, I like it down, but it’s your call.” Margerie murmured.
“Thanks Mar.” I smiled, as our mother fixed her dress yet again. It was a beautiful light shade of purple dress, with a slit on the side that she kept fumbling with.
“So, how is the New York house, Kathleen?” My mother asked.
“It’s perfect, and very spacious to be located in New York, but it’s not a house mother. It’s in some upscale condominium building with a doorman, and he has the entire floor, so it’s nice. There are two full apartments on our floor, and both apartments are paid in full, what more could you ask for?” I shrugged at how my words sounded, I couldn’t believe I was wealthy now. I’d always been, since we'd never divorced, but at least now I knew it and accepted it.
“But you both won’t live there full time, right?” “No, we’ll live some place different for the next few years. He has a few places, so we’ll explore a bit. We have six years to make up for, and each year we’ll move around. You never know.” I smirked.
“Sounds like perfection to me.” Margerie chimed in, applying her lipstick.
‘”Wow, Kat, sounds magical.” My mother sighed.
“Yeah, it will be. Once we’ve found a place we love, after traveling for a bit, we’ll buy a home there to live full time. But, we’ll always keep our homes in New York, and our first home in Connecticut.” I smiled.
“So, have you told him?” Margerie asked me, as I looked at her, and exhaled.
“Not yet, but I will.” I looked at my ring, my purple diamond, and blushed. As they continued to try and persuade me to not wear shoes. I told them, both that I would not go barefoot. Besides, there was a gazebo built for us, so I wouldn’t be walking on the sand, for more than a few steps. I was preparing to walk down the aisle, to renew my vows with the love of my life. We were married in a hall the first time around, this time I wanted to marry on the beach, so that’s what we did. We’d rented a private beach off the coast of San Juan, and married with only a select few in attendance. My family was there, and a few of his staff, whom he’d grown close to over the years. His aunt and grandmother were also in attendance. Everyone was so happy for us, there literally wasn’t a dry face at the wedding. Which made it very hard for me to keep my emotions intact, but I did my best to regardless. After we’d recited our vows, and he slipped a platinum ring onto my finger, I slipped a platinum ring on his. I could feel my eyes watering, but for more than one reason. We had made it here, and this time was even better than the first, and I was delightfully happy. But, I couldn’t deny the brief sadness I felt inside, that we didn’t use our original rings. I found myself regretting asking for a new ring, and now I understood why he said what he did “I don’t think I need a new ring, and neither do you. I don’t want to forget our past, and I didn’t want to replace it, only add to it.” We kissed, and walked back down the aisle with everyone crying, as they applauded us. “I love you Mrs. Pierce. My love. My life.” He kissed me again, once we reached the end of the aisle.
“I love you too, Mr. Pierce, always and forever.” I smiled, and hugged him, feeling as if I was floating on air. My dress was a beautiful cream colored Vera Wang exclusive, and he’d worn a black Armani suit, looking incredibly debonair.
“Baby, why did you look anxious when I placed your band on your finger?” He asked me.
“Oh, you saw that, huh?” I flushed, and felt embarrassed.
“Yes, I did see that. Is everything alright?” He tilted my chin up towards his face, as I laid on his chest, and I swallowed.
“Yeah, I was just feeling a little weird about us not using our original wedding bands. It just hit home, I think, and I felt a little guilty about it, that’s all.” I muttered, as he ran his fingers through my hair, staring into my eyes smiling at me.
“Well, you shouldn’t feel sad about that, baby.” He stated.
“I know, I’m sorry, but I just felt a little regret about it” He grabbed my hand, and looked down at both bands on our fingers, and he sighed.
“Who said that these aren’t our original bands?” He asked, looking up into my eyes.
“Our original bands were gold, JP, not platinum.” I stated.
“Correct, but I could have had those gold bands coated in platinum… couldn’t I?” He smirked, and a slow smile started to spread over my face, he then winked at me.
“Did you, honey?” I asked, incredulously.
“I did… surprise, baby.” I grabbed his head and kissed him hard, pulling him closer to me as he responded, taking my mouth deepening the kiss, as he groaned softly.
“Thank you. I love you.” I uttered, not being able to talk, I was so full of emotions. He kissed my nose, and I looked at him, feeling as if I fell even more in love with him. If that were even possible at this point.
“Love you too baby, to pieces. Are you happy?” “Very happy. You know I do love surprises, Mr. Pierce.” I smiled.
“I know you do.” He chuckled.
“Especially the one where you decided to retire early, so we could travel the world, starting right here. On this beautiful private island you’ve leased for the year. It’ll be a nice change residing here fulltime for the next year.”
“Then Paris, Australia, Italy, New York… It will be so much fun, making up for lost time.” He smiled, and kissed me quickly. “It will be a very nice change for me too, baby, but one I’ve wanted my entire life, with you. Oh, and I like surprises too, well, only your surprises.” He smirked and winked at me, and I knew he was t
hinking very naughty thoughts, and I laughed with him.
“Asshole," I uttered, and he laughed at me. ‘You’re terrible, JP.”
“I know.” He confirmed with a grin.
“Well, since you surprised me today, it’s only right that I have a surprise for you, too.”
“Oh, and when do I get to see my surprise?” He asked, while gazing lovingly into my eyes, as if we were already alone in our very own world.
“Oh, I’d say, in about eight more months.” I grinned at him, and his face went pale, as his eyes widened. He was utterly speechless for three whole minutes.
“Baby... you... I... we… you say... what now?” He stuttered between each breath, like I normally do when I’m overwhelmed. I wasn’t on any birth control, and we’d been so consumed with each other, that neither of us even thought about the ramifications of having so much unprotected sex. I found out I was pregnant when I in went for a checkup recently. But I had been waiting to find the right time to tell him. We’d been so busy with the wedding, and him appointing a CFO to maintain P2 enterprises, while he pulled his liquid funds out of the company. Also with me moving to the New York house, my book being released, and hot and passionate sex every chance we got. What can I say, it’d been a very busy few weeks.
“Yes, we’re having a baby.” I kissed his lips, and he kissed me back, picking me up, spinning me around.
“Baby, I can’t be this happy. It has to be illegal.” He grinned, and I smiled, loving his reaction to the news. He was filled with utter joy. We never really talked about a timeline for having kids, but it didn’t take a scientist... oh wait, I am a scientist. So I guess it did take a scientist, to figure out that he would eventually want a family of his own, since his family was in such disarray. But we shared families now, and soon we would have our own little family. I was secretly hoping that it was a boy, I wanted him to have a son first. Baby JP!
“It’s not illegal, JP, I’d say we deserve it… wouldn’t you?”
“I would. We deserve each other forever.”
“We just declared that for a second time ten minutes ago, so I’d say… our mission is complete now.” I smiled.
“I’ll say. You’ve taken my love, baby.”
“You’ve taken mine, too. Hmmm, taken love…” I uttered.
“Forever love, KP. Forever, baby. I love you.” He replied, as we kissed... sealing our future as man and wife, as parents, and as one love that had truly… consumed us both.
