“I like her,” the women heard Zack say to Damien as they walked away.

“I wonder who he is talking about?” Gina said and then caught Samantha’s teasing look. “Oh girl. It isn’t me. And shut up. Don’t say anything.”

Samantha laughed and decided to let her friend off the hook for then. She grabbed a box of cupcakes and then they headed outside. One of the agents had given birth this morning and later she and Finn were going to visit her in the hospital.

“What was all that about brushing aside the lunch offer? Are you trying to hide boy toy or something?”

  “Stop calling him that.”

“Well…he is kind of, isn’t he?” Gina ducked as Samantha threw her keys at her. “Jeez girl. Okay, I won’t call him that.”

“My mother surfaced,” Samantha blurted out. She had been holding it inside the entire day. The visit last night had rattled Samantha more than usual. That face brought with it all the memories she had kept tightly locked up for years.

“Oh lord. From which hellhole?” Gina’s features turned concerned immediately. She was the only one who knew the entire story regarding Samantha’s mother. “Are you okay?”

“Yes. It’s just…seeing her shook me up a little,” she admitted.

  “What did she want?”

“Who knows? She wouldn’t say. She kept pouring the usual crap of just wanting to see if I was okay.”

“Did she show up at the office?”

“No, thank God. That would have been awkward. She was in my apartment.” Samantha frowned. She was still not sure how her mother had gotten in but then she had connections of the criminal sort. Anyone with the right tools could have hooked her up with them. Melissa Gideon had her hands in many pots and would not shy from getting them dirty.

“How?” When Samantha shrugged, Gina shuddered. “Crazy woman. I hope you changed the locks.”

She had. That’s the first thing she had done in the morning. It had made her a bit late for work but being tardy once had not mattered. She had even considered the idea of getting a dog but then chucked it. She was not around much and the poor dog would go nuts in her empty apartment.

Samantha hugged her friend and thanked her for lunch. She had to put Melissa out of her mind if she intended to get her work done. She was not going to let the devil interfere with her life anymore or destroy any small chance at happiness she may have.

  Chapter 4

Damien’s heart was thundering in its cage. The blood in his vessels was gushing wildly and heating up as soft hands wrapped around his throbbing member. He exhaled harshly and placed his hands flat against the wall in front of him. He gazed upwards and closed his eyes. He could not lose control. Yet he was on the brink of losing it.

His fingers scrapped the wall in a desperate attempt to hold on and then his eyes snapped open. The heat of Samantha’s mouth surrounding his cock made him look down. The last string of control snapped and his hands left their post to wrap around her dark head.

“Samantha,” he gritted out her name. His stormy eyes glued downwards, watching the beautiful woman at his feet. She took him as far as she could without choking and then pulled back to play with the head. Her tongue snaked out and rubbed the sensitive underside making him groan.

She had called him up an hour ago wanting to know if he was free for dinner. He had been about to do the same. Except he had a restaurant in mind. Now he thanked the lady at his feet for suggesting home dining. They had barely gotten started on the food when eyes started to flirt dance, leading to wandering hands and finally to the stage where he stood in the bedroom corridor with his jeans around his ankles.

His fingers curled in the thick hair and his hands started to guide the tempo of thrust in and out of her hot mouth. He wanted to push her. He wanted to take her to the end of her limits. She was something special to him. All she had to do was touch him and he was a goner. Never before had he experienced this intensity. Everything they did had an intensity and he was slowly getting addicted to it.

“You’re killing me, Peaches,” he groaned out as his hands guided her gently. She managed to take him in a little further. Just a few more inches and he would be buried to the hilt in her mouth. His chest constricted with the image and his arms strained with the effort to be gentle.

Her blue eyes clashed with his as she looked up and winked before focusing on working him. Leaving only hand curled around him, she let her other one trace his heavy sacs. He swallowed and then gasped loudly when she squeezed gently.

“I won’t last if you do that,” he warned her gruffly.

She let him go with a pop and looked up. “That’s the point, handsome.”

He let out a strangled laugh and tightened his hold on her hair as she started working him up again rather enthusiastically. “Slow down. Breathe through your nose. That’s it.”

Damien freed one hand and slammed it against the wall, hoping the pain would distract him and stop him from coming too fast. Samantha was doing almost everything in her power to make him lose control and he had to do everything in his to stay in control. She had taken almost all of him inside her wet heat.

He changed the angle of her head and the thrusts. “Breathe slowly through your nose.”

Samantha hollowed her cheeks around him making him swear under his breath. He desperately tried to think of something unappealing. Something to extend the time of the impending tsunami of pleasure. His mind was curiously blank. The blood in his entire body seemed to be amassed in his cock. It pulsated and jerked, desperate to reach the end.

“Peaches,” he managed to force out.

Samantha felt her inner goddess glow with pride as she almost brought the strong man before her to his knees. It felt good to give this time. Each sound of pleasure he made spurred her on. She was turned on but when his hands gripped the back of her head and showed her how he liked it, she felt her pleasure soar.

Damien’s cock was a beautiful specimen. She was sure none other would compare. It was thick and long as expected of a tall man like him that she had been initially unsure about her plan. However, once she started, she found that she could not stop.

She was not much of an oral giver before but now drew on all the information she had having read on the matter and some discussions among girlfriends. His grip tightened and he groaned out low and long as she hummed around him. Her fingers once again started to play with the neglected sacs. She loved their weight in her hands.

The tip of the head hit the back of her throat and as her body tried to rebel against the intrusion and gag but he guided her through it. She listened to his dark voice telling her to remain calm. Closing her eyes, she inhaled through her nose and the urge to gag slowly vanished. This was new to her. She had never taken anyone so deep in mouth. Damien was muttering something above her head but she was concentrating so hard that she did not hear a word. Her throat worked around the muscle and suddenly he pulled out but not completely.

She gripped the muscles of his backside as he furiously thrust into her mouth. He had lost control now. If she could, she would grin. The heavy sacs strained and she knew this was it. While he tried to pull out of her mouth, she pulled him back in and that is how he lost control.

The woman was on a mission. When she hummed with him in her mouth, he thought he would not be able to hold back. He could swear he felt the vibrations down to his toes. Then she deep throated him. The last thread of control snapped. The huge blue eyes clashed with his and he was a goner. Waves of pleasure crashed through his body as he emptied into her mouth. His lips were moving but even he was not sure what words poured out in the moment.

When finally his vision cleared and his body stopped shaking so much, he glanced down to see Samantha licking her swollen red lips like a satisfied cat. Roughly he reached down and pulled her against him, latching onto the inviting lips. His taste mingled with hers was intoxicating. He pressed her into the wall and attacked her mouth with fervor.
<
br />   Samantha’s whole body came alive as Damien pinned her to the wall and kissed her like it was the most important thing on the planet to do. He was pressed so tightly against her there was no wiggle room for her and she wanted to wiggle. She was burning up below the waist and she wanted to rub herself against him.

Her lungs burned for air when he finally released her mouth and started to nibble her ear.

“That was the most amazing experience I have ever had,” he breathed into her ear.

The broad satisfied smile spread across her face. “You’re welcome, handsome.”

“Oh Peaches…how I’m going to reward you for that.”

Her sex clenched as the possibilities raced through her mind in explicit and vivid detail. She hummed in approval and then gasped when he found the sensitive spot behind her ear and started to tease it.

Her body felt like an inferno. The clothes between them were just making her antsy. She started tugging Damien’s shirt up and he got the hint. He stepped back just enough to quickly unbutton and remove his shirt, and then made quick work of her dress. She stepped out from the dress pooled at her feet and kicked it aside, standing in front of him only in her underwear.

Another time she would have felt a tinge of consciousness standing so exposed in the bright light in front of him but she was so far gone in the wave of lust, the only thing she wanted was for him to satisfy her.

But having had his satisfaction he was taking time in giving her hers. She growled at him in frustration as he played with her breasts and teased her. She rubbed her thighs together as discomfort spread.

  “Damien,” she whined. “Hurry.”

“But we only just got started,” he said all too innocently. He had to know he was torturing her.

“Damien!” she growled. “Get. In. Me. NOW!”

“Are you sure you’re wet enough?”

  “YES!”

The frustrating man laughed in a dark, rich tone and lifted her up. Immediately she curled her legs around his waist and he carried her to the bedroom. Tossing her on the bedspread, he reached into the side drawer and drew out a condom. Once sheathed, he lingered over her, just gazing at her face and then bent down to gently kiss her. The second his lips touched hers, he thrust into her to the hilt, swallowing her gasp.

“Damien,” Samantha gasped out, her eyes huge on his face.

“Samantha,” he smiled down at her as he stroked the nerves inside her quite thoroughly. He was going at a leisurely pace but slowly picked up the speed. In and out, in and out. Three slow thrusts. Then three fast ones. When the slippery heaven gripped his shaft tightly, he lost pace.

Caging her body under his, he pumped into her, slipping a hand between them to tease her swollen clit. The second his callused thumb touched it, she exploded around him with a scream. He gritted his teeth as he thrust into her in the midst of orgasm. Once. Twice. And then he came with a groan, his face buried in the crook of her neck.

They lay in that position for a good while. He softened inside her and then he rolled to the side, deftly tying off the condom and disposing it.

“That was phenomenal,” Samantha breathed out, once she could articulate words.

  “You were phenomenal, Peaches.”

And she glowed under his warm praise. His nickname for her was starting to grow on her. Every time he called her that she felt all warm in all the right places. Glancing to her side, she studied the man. He was staring at her with a soft expression on his face. A tiny smile curved up on his pink lips. In that moment, she felt oddly content. Something she had not felt for a long time.

  Chapter 5

“I said I love cooking. I didn’t say I was good at it,” Samantha said sheepishly.

Once they managed to get out of bed, they had to reheat all the food she had ordered. Their tryst had left them famished and within a short while all the food had disappeared. Now, both appetites satiated, they reclined on the couch, flicking aimlessly through channels.

Damien laughed. “I love cooking too.”

“You’re good at it, aren’t you?” When he just grinned, she exclaimed, “I knew it!”

“I can cook for us next time,” he offered.

She smiled. “I would love that. While my cooking sucks, I have mad baking skills.”

  “Is that so?”

  “Yep.”

“I love desserts,” he whispered sensually in her ear, making her shiver. “Especially things with peaches in them.”

  She groaned. “You’re insatiable.”

“I’m only what you made me.” He let his fingers trail downwards until they came to sensitive side of the ribs. A giggle burst through her lips and she pushed him with a mock glare. “You should laugh more,” he murmured, a soft smile playing on his lips.

Samantha stared into his eyes and what she saw in them suddenly overwhelmed and confused her. She looked away, her heart pounding. Her mind scrambled to regain composure.

“So you didn’t tell what you do?”

Damien gave her a curious look and then replied, “I uh…work in marketing for the Sutherland Company.”

“Wow. They were business titans of the year, weren’t they? Where did you graduate from?”

“Harvard,” he said modestly. “On scholarship.”

Samantha whistled in admiration. “Beauty and brains.”

“Hey, this isn’t just a pretty face,” he said dramatically making her laugh.

After a while they moved to the balcony, watching the night city do its thing from above. Samantha studied his profile in the dim light. He was such an enigmatic man. She knew just the basics about him but the warning in her gut was silent. However, she was still unsure if she could trust him completely. Her heart on the other hand she knew she could not trust. She was growing too comfortable with him and it shook her up a little. Her experience in life taught her that once things moved to the comfort zone, it did not take too long for them to move in the opposite direction.

“What’s the story behind the water phobia?”

She brushed her hair away from her face and looked at him. “Well…I was nine and our family had a beach picnic planned out. It was us, and a few neighboring families. It got loud and chaotic. Mostly fun. But no one was watching us kids. We were playing our version of volleyball…in the water,” she smiled a little at the memory and then sobered up. “One hit from the opposing team and the ball landed a bit further away. Some urge to show off arose and like an idiot, I wadded further into the water till I was almost knee deep. But before I could grab the ball, my foot slipped on something slippery below and I fell face first in the water. I don’t think anyone heard me scream in all the noise. The sea was a bit forceful then and one wave swept me in deeper. I never learned how to swim. So I was just flailing about, trying not to let the current take me. It just made things worse. I was swallowing too much water and my vision was getting dark. I don’t remember much after that.”

Her voice got low and she suppressed a shudder. “I just remember being cold, my skin itching and my nose and throat burning. It was the most terrifying moment of my life at that point. Ever since then I haven’t been able to look at huge bodies of water the same. Until our first date, that is.” She reached up to place her fingers lightly against his cheek and smiled. “You being there that night didn’t result in me having a full blown panic attack. You kept me distracted.”

Damien took her face between both hands and touched his forehead to hers. “Thank God,” he breathed on her lips. “Thank God, you were saved that day. And I am sorry. I should have asked about any phobias or such before planning anything.”

Samantha snuggled against his chest as he pulled her into a hug. The strong male scent combined with a delicious cinnamon one filled her nostrils and she hummed in approval. “You don’t have to apologize. It was a lovely date. And I had no meltdowns. So it’s okay.”

They stood in each other’s embrace, enjoying the heat in the cont
rast to the cool evening air whipping around them. Something vibrated against Samantha’s legs and she pulled her head up.

  “You’re vibrating.”

“What? Oh, sorry.” Damien disengaged himself and stepped back. He dug a phone out of his jeans pocket and glanced at the screen with a frown. “I’m sorry, Peaches. This is work.”

She waved him on and stepped inside. She re-corked the wine bottle and washed the glasses. She was wiping them when an apologetic looking Damien came inside.

“There’s an issue at work. I need to go in.”

Samantha looked at the clock hanging over the arch and then at him. “You get called in at this hour?”

He shrugged and said carefully, “The Sutherlands work 24/7. We have an important meeting in two days and some reports need to be cleared up before that.”

His posture was just slightly off but maybe she was imagining things. Carefully setting the glasses in the cupboard, she approached him.

“Okay. I understand. Thanks for tonight. I had fun,” she said softly.

A genuine smile transformed his face making her stomach flutter in a weird way. “It was my pleasure.” His large callused hand cupped one cheek softly and he bent down for a peck before moving away. He put on his coat and just before he drew open the door he said hesitantly, “Maybe next time we can do this at my place?”

Samantha nodded. “Sure. I’m looking forward to that.”

“As am I. Good night, Peaches.”

That night she slept like a baby with the largest smile on her face. When she got up the next morning she was still smiling. She rolled out of the bed and checked her phone for any calls or messages but had none. She hummed in the shower and was still in a good mood when she reached the office twenty minutes late, because of traffic.

“Someone’s in a good mood,” Finn noticed.

“I got up on the right side of the bed, that’s all,” Samantha said grinning.
