While the Dauntless is gone, the crew goes on. Now captain of the Barbaric Queen, Kylie has a new mission: find her brother, and stop him from continuing down the road their father set him on.
Other things are afoot as well. Lana needs her nano repaired, Maverick has a new AI, and Tanis has sent ships to stabilize Gedri. Grayson is back in the Silstrand Space Force with a command of his own, and a tenuous alliance has been formed with Scipio.
But there’s no rest to be found yet, and Tanis has a date with the nations of the Praesepe Cluster where they are forming an alliance—aided by a band of mercenaries known as the Marauders—to hold back the spreading tide of the Nietzschean Empire.
