Wally was standing next to me and together we watched as Lucas went down on one knee, proposing to Marlowe.

Mia was smiling, a hand over her mouth. We made eye contact as Marlowe said yes, and Lucas picked her up into the air.

I’m getting you back, I told her.

  Try, she said.

  The End

  Acknowledgments

Miracle, this book is dedicated to you, but I also want to reiterate how much your enthusiasm has meant to me. Your excitement fuels my own and helps me remember why I’m doing this. Because I love it and it makes me happy. So thank you so much for your support. You give me the drive I need to continue my dream.

Kristen, my Kristen. Girl…I can’t even begin. I honestly believe that if I hadn’t met you I wouldn’t be doing this. You opened up doors and windows inside me. I’m so grateful for you. I love you. I honest to God, deep down, with all of me, love you. You can have Wally. He was yours the moment he stepped onto the page anyway.

I met Danielle Carter or The Crafty Turtle on social media after my first book, Starting Fires, was released. She has been such a blessing. The internet can be such a bizarre, inspiring place. Two people, strangers, connect over a mutual interest and then discover so much more to bond over. Danielle, you’ve been a welcomed addition to my life. You get me. Thank you.

I have been blessed to have a group of wonderful friends who have loved me despite all of my failings and faults. Jennifer and Jacob Wade, Dustin Estis, Kendall and Sophie Spataro, Jason Morace, Steven Amiri, and of course Chad Thornton. We lost Chad this year, but I keep him close with me. He was an extraordinary individual that I will never forget and always miss. Thank God for all of you.

Thank you Clayton for listening to me talk and talk and talk and talk and talk. I know it’s annoying. Thank you for letting me play video games instead of do the laundry. Thank you for cutting me slack when I get really moody and mean. Thank you for everything.

Amanda F. Palmer, thank you for being such an inspiring individual. You see beauty in such a unique way. I’m glad you willingly share it with the rest of us.

My daughter, Iris, is the love of my life. If I’m known for nothing more than being her mother, that’s enough for me. She’s beautiful. She’s strong. She’s the most amazing little girl on the planet. Becoming her mother gave my life meaning. I’ll never be able to thank her enough.

Maryse Black at maryse.net, thank you for taking a chance on me last year with Starting Fires. You made it possible for me to write this one as well. I know your schedule is hectic and you have tons of books on your TBR list, so again, thank you for choosing mine.

And finally, you. Thank you for reading my work. It means so much to me. If you read Starting Fires and came back for more, thank you for your continued support! If you didn’t read Starting Fires, but read this one anyway, thank you for taking a chance on me. I’d love to hear from you. Don’t hesitate to contact me. I plan to write two more books involving these sub characters. I’d tell you the titles, but I haven’t decided what the next one will be called yet. (I’m weird about titles.) I look forward to hearing from you!
