“What? No. Nothing to tell, just been working.” Briana lied as Eve rolled her eyes.
“Oh my god Bree you did not sleep with Mr. Green eyes, did you?” Eve said with wide eyes.
“No, of course not!” Briana tried to act offended, but it fell short.
“Oh my god Bree, when? Last night?” Eve was in shock.
“I didn’t…” Briana leaned in closer to Eve. “I didn’t sleep with him ok but yes I saw him, but technically I hit him with my car, so.” Briana said quickly, and Eve laughed so loud that she spit some of her beer out.
“Oh my god you can’t make this shit up Bree!” She laughed. “How the hell did you hit him? You better start from the beginning and don’t leave anything out.”
“There isn’t much to tell ok. I was driving home from the hospital last night and he sort of ran in front of my car. Well a wolf did but it was him and I sort of hit him with my car.” Briana said quickly and then she laughed a little too because it just sounded so crazy.
“Oh my god. And then?” Eve said with wide curious eyes.
“And then nothing. I drove him home.” Briana began as Eve just stared at her. “Ok and I may have gone inside and fell asleep.”
“You fell asleep? Uh huh.” Eve said sarcastically.
“We didn’t have sex ok.” Briana leaned over more and whispered. The bar was packed, and she didn’t want her business all over the place. It was a small town.
“Ok, so what did you do?” Eve asked with a huge smile. “Or better yet why? I mean do you really want to get caught up with someone like him. Listen I’m not saying he is a hundred percent bad, but he is definitely not your type.” She said honestly.
“Oh, trust me I know. I read even more stuff about him.” Briana shook her head as she thought about the articles.
“Ok but? I feel a big but coming on?” Eve said with wide eyes.
“There isn’t. I’m not getting involved with him. I told him that today.” Briana began as Eve blinked in shock.
“Today? You saw him again today?” She shook her head.
“Listen it wasn’t even like that. He showed up at the college and I let him know right away that I am not interested and after tonight he will see that.” Briana said reassuringly.
“After tonight?” Eve asked with confusion.
“He wouldn’t leave so I may have agreed to a date tonight, but it means nothing. Like seriously nothing at all and he will see that tonight.” Briana said quickly as Eve began to laugh. “What? I’m serious. After tonight.” She began, and Eve cut her off.
“After tonight you will be jumping through hoops for him” Eve laughed a bit sarcastically.
“Hey! No, I won’t. Did you not listen to me at all? I told you I am not interested.” Briana began as Eve rolled her eyes. “Listen I know what it looks like.” Briana began as Eve smirked. “He’s all wrong for me. You know that.”
“Of course, I do Bree but us girls are always going after the bad boys though he is more extreme than others.” Eve said as she sipped her beer.
Briana sighed heavily. “He has a terrible track record.”
“Uh huh, and?” Eve smirked.
“Ok fine. I may be a little bit attracted to him but that’s only because the last few days have been overwhelming.” Briana said quickly.
“Just be careful ok. I mean I will kick his ass if I have to, wolf or not.” Eve said seriously and then Briana’s eyes moved to the front door as an extremely tall and fit man walked in. He looked to be nearly seven feet tall and he had incredibly long jet-black hair. He was dressed in all black. He stuck out like a sore thumb as his eyes scanned the place and then he looked right at Briana. He began walking over. Eve had to do a double take as she saw the ridiculously tall man walk towards the bar. “Holy hotness!” Eve said with wide eyes as the man walked up to the bar. He looked at Eve and grinned.
“Aren’t you just a cute little ray of sunshine.” He said to Eve who just laughed nervously. Was she actually speechless because Briana had never seen her like that, not ever!
“I can be whatever you want.” Eve smiled wide as she looked him up and down slowly.
“I may take you up on that offer sweetheart. I’m Steele.” He grinned.
“Fitting name.” Eve glanced at his groin and smiled as Briana nearly died of embarrassment. “Eve.” She smiled.
“I will enjoy hearing you calling out my name later.” He smirked and then looked at Briana who was a million shades of red. “And you must be the one who has my boy John all flustered and acting a fool. I can see why, you’re a sexy spitfire aren’t you, Briana.” He grinned, and Briana blinked in shock.
“You’re John’s friend? He sent you here?” Briana said in shock.
“Yes and No. I’m his friend and no he has no idea I am here. I just needed to see the woman that has him contemplating the meaning of life.” He smirked and then looked back at Eve. “Want to join me in a booth and tell me all your darkest fantasies?”
“Yes please.” Eve stood up right away.
“Eve? “Briana said with wide eyes.
“Oh, right. How about a pitcher of beer? “Eve said quickly.
“And a bottle of Patron?” Steele said as he looked at Briana and then Eve.
“I may love you.” Eve smirked, and Briana rolled her eyes. Eve was so far gone it wasn’t funny.
Briana grabbed the bottle of Patron from under the counter. It was only three quarters of the way full. Steele spoke before Briana could. “Here this should cover it.” He placed a hundred-dollar bill on the counter as he took the bottle from her. He began to walk to a booth as Eve looked at Briana and gave her a thumbs up as she quickly followed him.
Briana stared at the money and then back at Steele as he got to a table. He was John’s friend? And John was conflicted over her? Shock passed through her not only because John was conflicted over her, but he had actually vocalized this to another person. She flushed with surprise as she stood there. This still didn’t change a thing. She knew the kind of person John was and people didn’t just change overnight.
