“Where are you?” I cried out, practically begging for imaginary Garrett to return even for just the briefest moment. “Why did you leave?”
Despite my pleas, he didn’t return. It was time to once again turn off my brain and find some peace. My hands trembled as I reached for the bottle on my bedside table and opened it. Pills rattled out of the bottle and into my palm. My vision was blurry with tears, and I had no idea how many had tumbled out; I just took them with a swallow of water.
“Come back to me,” I whispered my prayer just as blackness consumed me, taking me deep into its abyss where it refused to let me go.

Acknowledgments
This story would never have been written without the inspiration of one awesome, amazing and tragic Turkish costume drama, Kurt Seyit & Șura. I binge watched in on Netflix over Christmas break; it had everything: war, secret love, forbidden love, jealousy, betrayal, etc. It was perfect… until it ended. I was so angry with how this story resolved! Clearly, the author of the novel and the creator of this series did not understand the “Happily Ever After” rule… TLDR; I got inspired to write and the result is Just Like This, the first book in what I hope will be an amazingly sexy emotional series.
Melissa Pascoe – Thank you for being my amazing alpha reader, for telling me that this story had good bones, for falling in love with Jackson and for being an amazing sounding board. Your friendship and support is immeasurable.
Laura Hull – Thank you so much for your editing talents and for helping me make this story more. I was already proud of it when I sent it off to you but after your suggestions, I am completely thrilled with the story.
Jenny Sims – Thank you for your thorough proofreading skills and for making time for me in your already crazy-busy schedule.
Tiffany Black – Thank you for making my books look pretty I’ll never buy Vellum simply because I like working with you too much.
Amy Queau – THANK YOU for your honesty and patience! I came to you with a stock image, an idea of what I wanted and realized…I was wrong. If it hadn’t been for your honesty, I wouldn’t have the amazing cover that I do now. Seriously. It’s so gorgeous.
Lena, Lisa, Selena, and Emily Robertson – Thank you for your help in getting the pieces of this puzzle organized. Thank you for either reading early drafts or answering hundreds of questions. I hope that I produced something that is a fairly accurate representation of something I know absolutely nothing about.
My Soul Sisters –You ladies are the best support system. You lift me up when I’m down and provide me with the best surprises! I’m so lucky to have you as my friends.
To my Readers/My Gals – Thank you for your continued love of my words. It amazes me every day that there are people that I don’t personally know who have read my books and loved them! There are thousands of authors and I’m grateful that you took a chance on me.
To my Honey Bunny and my Peanut – Thank you for your continued gift of time and patience to let me chase my dreams. I know that it’s hard to come home from work and take charge of the Peanut while I work, or to give me an entire Saturday so that I get in a decent word count. Peanut, I hope that all of this hard work and sacrifice pays off so that we can go on incredible adventures together.
About the Author
Rebecca Gallo was first indoctrinated into the romance genre by her babysitter who watched hours upon hours of daytime soap operas. She harbored many inappropriate crushes on fictional characters including John Black from “Days of Our Lives,” Orry Main from the Civil Was mini-series “North & South” and Edward Fairfax Rochester from Jane Eyre. She is still hopelessly in love with Davy Jones of The Monkees.
Rebecca currently resides in Arizona with her husband, son and tuxedo cat. When she isn’t swooning over book boyfriends or finding inspiration for her next romance, she can be found teaching surly teenagers about literature. Or eating tacos.
Readers, I want to hear from you! If you loved Cami and Garrett, if you hate cliffhangers and want to send me an angry email, if you just want to taco ‘bout cats, then email me: [email protected].
