Callum (Cowboy Tough Book 1)

He had to know how wet and excited she was about having him inside her. She groaned as he finger fucked her, bringing her to climax in record time. She turned around and they looked one another in the eye. She so wanted to hear that he loved her but she wouldn’t pressure him or ruin what was a perfect moment.
Olivia unbuttoned his shirt, pulling away both sides of the material to reveal his muscular chest. She leaned in and planted a kiss on his upper belly. Next she let her hands slide down onto the belt buckle. She unfastened it and then slide down the zipper, reaching in and holding his erect cock. She squeezed it, loving the slight groan that escaped his lips. He took the initiative and pulled down both his pants and underwear in one quick movement.
She fingered the tip of his shaft, running his index finger over the veins that stood out on his dick.
“I want you so badly Callum Monroe.”
“Not as badly as I want you,” he said.
He lifted her up and carried her to the bed, placing her down gently as he parted her thighs.
She watched as he sheathed himself, knowing within seconds he’d be inside her and she’d be more happy and content…if that was possible.
His cock filled her, excited her as he began to thrust, slowly at first and then with an urgency she hadn’t experienced before. The sensation traveling throughout her whole body took her breath away and as he moved even faster, she felt herself falling down into a warm abyss that surrounded her body and soul.
Her pussy clenched around his cock, making it jerk and causing it to hit her G-spot. Olivia clawed as his arms as she felt her orgasm building. Slowly, slowly he was bringing her to climax. She flexed her toes and cried out his name.
Callum’s breath became labored as he thrust faster and harder and then the warmth that suddenly filled her told her he’d enjoyed his own release.
“I’m so happy,” Olivia told him.
He smiled. She touched his cheeks because they were so cute when he smiled. He had dimples she’d noticed for the very first time tonight.
Chapter Fifteen
Olivia’s hand shook as she took her apron off the peg in the DIY store and wrapped it around her body. It was thanks to Callum and Sloan that she had this job. Nothing had sparked red lights when she’d filled in her application form and her W-2. She’d been assured by the woman she’d purchased the new identity from, including the social security number, that she could start a new life as this new persona and Mark would never find her. She at least felt safe but yet nervous for her first day on the job.
The supervisor had told Olivia she’d be working in the bathroom department for a few days because two people were out sick and then if she wanted, she could switch to either the paint department or plumbing. Paint sounded actually more fun so that’s what she was going to opt for. Olivia punched in her time card and made her way out to the main floor.
“Hi Olivia, hope you enjoy working here. Could I get you to unload those boxes of taps and put them on the display here,” said the supervisor.
“Sure.”
“And after that if you could make sure everything looks neat and tidy in the bathroom display area.”
Olivia nodded.
Maybe this job would lead to bigger things. Maybe she could even work her way up to supervisor. She cut open the box and began unloading the taps. Some pretty fancy ones by the look of it. She stacked the boxes and thought about transportation to the store. Callum had very kindly let her bring his truck as he’d be working all day at the ranch but she knew she was going to need her own set of wheels and she’d also need to get a Montana driver’s license too.
Hopefully that wouldn’t raise any red flags either.
Olivia opened the second box and repeated the task at hand. Things between her and Callum were getting pretty intense and one of these days she was going to need to sit down and tell him the whole story. What if he thought badly of her for taking another identity? No, he’d understand right?
Megan.
She froze when a man’s voice called out her real name. She saw a woman walk by and sighed of relief when she realized he wasn’t referring to her but that lady. No one had stumbled upon her old persona.
Would Callum like the name Megan? Would he insist on calling her that when he knew the truth? She hadn’t felt like Megan for a long time. Olivia was who she was and who she wanted to be for the rest of her life.
*****
Callum felt tired and achy from fixing fences with his dad and Ryan but he knew Olivia needed a back rub more than he did.
“You know you could move in here with me until the house is ready,” Callum suggested as he made circles with his hands over her shoulders and down her arms.
“I could but I don’t want your parents to think I’m being rude after they offered the room to me.”
“I doubt they’d think that,” he said, kissing the nape of her neck.
“You’re making it very hard for me not to say no,” said Olivia.
“That’s the whole idea,” he said, bringing his hands around to the front of her body and massaging her breasts. He pulled on her nipples, feeling them turn into tiny pebbles.
He kissed the side of her neck and face. He was hard and wanted to fuck her so bad but maybe she was tired and he wouldn’t push her. He didn’t have a condom by the bed and he remembered he’d left the box in the bathroom cupboard.
“I’ll be right back,” he told her.
When he returned, the most beautiful site was waiting for him. Olivia was leaning over the bed, reaching for one of the pillows. He hadn’t taken her from behind before and this was his opportunity.
Callum came up behind her, quickly putting one arm around, pushing her down and with his other hand, he slide it in between her butt cheeks in search of her pussy opening. She did something he never expected. She screamed and fought him like he was some sort of axe murderer.
“Stop it, please, don’t do this to me”
He let go of her. Tears were streaming down her face and then she slapped him. It stung him and he held his skin to take the edge off the pain. A woman had never done that to him before and Olivia was the last person he expected to react so violently.
“What did I do, Olivia?” asked Callum.
“You’re a monster.”
She gathered up her clothes and ran out of the room so fast even he had trouble catching her. By the time he got to the living room, she was out the door and running in the direction of his parents’ home.
Callum hopped around on one leg, trying to get his jeans on. He never wanted to hurt her in anyway and he didn’t understand why she suddenly thought he was a monster. He had to set things straight with her.
He put his t-shirt on, slipped on his cowboy boots and made his way out of the door, seeing Olivia nowhere in sight and guessing she was with his parents by now. He ran most of the way and was out of breath by the time he reached their place. Callum knocked on the kitchen door. His mother answered it.
“Did Olivia come home here?” he asked her.
“She sure did. She was crying like a baby. What did you do?”
“Nothing I…
He didn’t want to explain to his mother what he was doing to Olivia when she snapped like she had.
“I need to talk to her,” Callum said.
“She went straight to her room. I think you should let her be for a while.”
His mother was usually right about things, especially when it came to women and love, but Callum had to go against her good judgement this time. He’d never be able to sleep not knowing what he’d done to Olivia and hopefully putting things right.
“I need to talk to her”
“Callum don’t….’
His mother’s voice trailed away as he headed for Sloan’s old room. The door as he expected, was closed. He tapped on it.
“Olivia, I know something’s upset you and I can’t imagine it was me. Baby, I would never, ever hurt you. Come on let me in and we can talk about this.”<
br />
There was silence. He tapped on the door again.
“Olivia, I’m not leaving so I’ll sleep out here in my parent’s hallway if I have to. You have to come out at some point.”
The window. Sloan had once sneaked out of it when she didn’t want their parents to know she was going to a dance at the Wagon Wheel when she was in high school.
No, Olivia wouldn’t be that foolish.
“I’m here and I’m waiting,” Callum said. He slid down the wall in the hallway and was prepared to wait as long as it took.
He heard the toilet flushing and then his father walked out, almost jumping out of his skin when he saw Callum sitting there.
“What are you doing?” he asked.
“Waiting for Olivia to come out and talk to me.”
His mother now stood in the hallway and then walked over to him. She knelt in front of him. “You’re going about this the wrong way. Give her some space.”
“I want to know what I did wrong,” Callum whispered back.
“He gets his stubbornness from you not me,” his dad told her.
“If you’re going to sit there at least let me make you something to eat.”
His mother left and his dad decided to sit next to him, both men with their backs against the wall.
“I think Olivia might be what we call broken,” whispered his dad. “Remember that crazy dog we had when you boys were young…not that I’m saying Olivia is crazy. However, she’s been abused just like that dog was and it’s hard to trust again. People are never the same once they lose faith and trust in someone.”
Callum didn’t answer. His dad was wrong.
“That dog learned to trust people again. Olivia trusts me.”
His father had wanted to hand the dog into the pound, scared that it would turn on and bite the then baby Sloan or even one of the boys, but Callum had insisted they give it a chance. He’d sat with the dog, even slept in the barn where it’d been banished too and let it know no one was ever going to beat it again. It was with a family who would love it and respect it.
“Yeah, I have to say that dog did turn out to be the most loving canine I’ve ever met,” said his dad.
He’d also lived to the ripe old age of fifteen and had slept at the bottom of Callum’s bed every night and had even scared away a bear when he and Callum had been out walking one day.
His father patted him on the back. “I’m too old to sit here for much longer but I’ll bring you some supper when it’s ready.”
Callum watched his father walk away. He hadn’t given up on the dog and he wasn’t going to give up on Olivia.
*****
Olivia hadn’t realized she’d cried herself to sleep until she woke up with a stiff neck. The room was dark and the clock said it was past midnight. She needed to go to the bathroom. She’d wanted to for the last two hours but each time she’d sneaked a peek through a crack in the door Callum had been out there. She peeked again and this time was relieved to see he’d finally given up.
She did owe him some sort of explanation as to her behavior tonight, but she wasn’t up to doing it right now. She headed to the door and opened it. As she stepped into the hallway there was Callum, slumped up against the wall asleep. A plate with a half-eaten pot pie and mashed potatoes sat on it.
The poor guy. She couldn’t let him sleep like this all night. She knelt beside him.
“Callum,”she said, tapping him on the arm.
He wasn’t stirring. “Callum, it’s Olivia, wake up,” she said, tugging slightly on his arm.
Callum sat up so quickly he put his hand right in the middle of the pot pie.
“Shit, what the…”
“I’m so sorry I startled you.”
“Olivia.”
“Yeah, it’s me. I have to go to the bathroom and while I’m there I’ll fetch a towel so you can wipe your hand.”
She hurried along to the bathroom, relieved herself and then took a wet washcloth back to Callum.
“I can’t believe you’ve sat here all this time,” she whispered.
“I told you I would.”
“Yeah, but I didn’t believe you.”
“Are you going to tell me what tonight was all about?” he whispered.
“Sure, but I think we should go into the bedroom so we don’t wake your parents.”
“Good idea.”
Callum went ahead of her. She stepped inside and shut the door.
He sat on the bed and Olivia sat next to him. She took a deep breath. What she was about to tell him, no one but her knew about. Not his sister, not the counsellors…no one.
She got hold of his hand. It was so big and strong and made hers looks so tiny and frail.
“When you came up behind me like that. I guessed you were going to take me from behind and it brought back bad memories…”
She thought she’d be able to get this out all in one go but it was still tough for her. She bit her lip and then took a deep breath. Callum squeezed her hand.
“My husband, Mark did that to me one night when he raped me.”
“For fuck’s sake, Olivia. Did you report him?”
“Who’s going to believe that a husband raped his wife? I mean it was my duty to have sex with him right?”
“No, that’s not how it works.”
“I know but try and prove that he had sex with me against my will.”
Callum put his arm around her.
“He pinned me to the bed, I was face down on the quilt. I could hardly breathe. I thought I was going to die and the attack went on for what seemed like ages.”
She stopped and took another deep breath. “I guess I have a thing about any man, yes, even a kind, gentle man like you, coming up behind me like that.”
“Olivia why didn’t you tell me before I did that to you?”
“Because no one but Mark knows what happened that night. You’re the only person who knows and I’d like to keep it that way.”
“I will never, ever tell anyone.”
Olivia rested her head on his shoulder. “I ruined tonight for us.”
“No, you opened up about a trauma that you suffered through. I wish you’d trust me more, Olivia. I mean is there anything else you want me to know about your past?”
Olivia shook her head and crossed her fingers. That meant it wasn’t a lie, right? She just didn’t think she was up to telling him how Megan became Olivia.
Chapter Sixteen
Callum stepped back to look at the cabinets he’d installed. The house was finally taking shape, and in a few weeks Olivia would be able to move in.
He’d put the handles on next and then the kitchen would be finished. All he needed to do was install the new window and wood flooring and then wait for the new fridge and oven to be delivered. Callum looked in the box that the cabinets that been delivered in and shit, no handles.
He looked at his watch. The DIY store was still open. In fact, maybe he and Olivia could grab something to eat at the pizza parlor next door. He’d get the handles and finish the work tonight.
*****
“You’re telling me, you don’t know anything about the products you’re selling.”
Olivia didn’t like the man’s tone. He’d been in twice the week before and she’d tried her best to help him find the right color and type of paint for his project but he had been unreasonable. She didn’t want to seem rude to a customer and lose her job so she’d taken the more passive stance.
“I mixed the color to the specifications on the chart,” Olivia said. Maybe she’d put in a little too much blue.
“Are you color blind or what?”
“No sir, I am not.”
“Well you better get it right this time, or you’re going to lose your job.”
He threw the can at her the top was obviously open and it splashed all over her.
Her apron was covered, and so was her face and hair. She tried her best not to react, to get angry, to cry, to do something because the bastard made her th
ink of Mark and the way he’d treated her.
She was about to ask him to apologize. The counselor at the shelter had told her never to be a victim again and to stand up for her rights, when out of nowhere Callum took two big strides over to the counter, got hold of the man and pushed him face down on to the countertop and right into a puddle of the paint.
“If ever speak to her like that again, or throw paint cans or anything else at her then you’ll be the most sorry fucker in the state of Montana. You understand me?”
The man nodded, causing more paint to go onto his face, and as Callum brought him up from the counter, Olivia saw he had a cut forehead where Callum had slammed him down with such force.
“Now get the fuck out of my sight and never think about shopping here ever again,” Callum told him.
The man didn’t say a word but quickly exited the aisle.
“You didn’t have to do that,” said Olivia.
“Yeah, I think I did. You okay?”
Olivia nodded. She wiped her face with a cloth she kept under the counter for drying up the odd drip of paint or two.
“Good thing I needed handles for the cabinets when I did,” Callum said, wiping some of the paint from the front of her hair.
“I could have handled him,” Olivia told him.
“I know but this way he won’t be back shopping in here and giving you trouble again.”
“That’s him, that’s the man who attacked me and your assistant is also incompetent and very rude.”
Olivia saw the man standing with the store manager.
“Olivia, would you step into my office, and the police are on their way so I suggest sir that you don’t leave the premises,” he told Callum.
Olivia knew things had been too good to be true.
Chapter Seventeen
It wasn’t the first time Callum had found himself in a cell in the Kalispell Valley Police Station. First time was for fighting with Aiden Nolan, and now he’d assaulted a complete stranger in the DIY store, and the asshole was pressing charges.
His one phone call had been to his dad who hopefully was on his way to bail him out. Callum didn’t worry so much about himself, but Olivia. She was probably going to get in trouble over his impulsive nature. What was he to do? The guy was harassing Olivia and he wasn’t going to tolerate another man abusing her either physically or verbally.
