Soul-Bonded to the Alien

by Serena Simpson

“It’s the most important meal of the day.” She jumped up, breathless. If she showered with him she was sure they’d miss dinner too.

She high-tailed it to the bathroom telling him to use his own shower and meet her in ten minutes. Taking the quickest shower of her life, it still took her twenty minutes to get ready. Cal had been back in ten, according to him a soft pink Paige was worth rushing to see.

They entered the dining room hand in hand. Paige dragged her feet trying to peek around the corner to see if Victor had a surprise volley waiting for her.

“Come in, Paige, if I did it when you were looking for it what fun would that be?”

“I won’t let my guard down.”

“Paige, we have years.” He smiled at her, “Wait for it.”

Shaking her head she sat at the table. “I can help clean or cook when I’m not looking for a job.”

“Why do you need a job?” Cal asked, his voice low and somber.

“How else am I going to pay for an apartment?”

“Why do you need an apartment?”

“I can’t keep living here, eventually my savings will dwindle to nothing.”

“Where will I be in all of this?”

“Well…I mean…I sort of thought we could live together. Maybe you don’t want to, but what if I get pregnant. Do you even want kids? Not that we have done anything to make children yet…” She could feel the heat racing up her neck to bloom on her cheeks and she fell silent.

“So you weren’t thinking of just leaving me.”

  She shook her head vigorously.

“Paige, I know you feel better right now, but this isn’t over. You're not done fighting for your life, our lives. Looking for a job or working would take time away from what you need to be concentrating on, your talents.”

  “What about money?”

  “Are we soul bonded?”

  “Uh huh.”

“Then what I have is yours right?”

  “I guess so.”

“Believe me it is, but when you have a better mastery over your talents you will have a choice to either use your gift or find a job in accounting. I need you to let me support you, this way you will be at your strongest when the time comes.”

  “He’s really coming back?”

“Unless we defeat him you will always be in danger.”

“Why does he want you, Cal?”

“Good question. Victor, the Sudir offered to let Paige live if she betrayed her soul bond and turned me over to him. Do you know why?”

Victor didn’t answer immediately, looking first at Cal then at Paige.

“It may be because you are next to rule if something happens to me.”

Cal shook his head looking at his brother. “Maybe, but why give up a power supply like Paige? I am sure the sun is the source of her energy, if she can harvest it…”

“She’ll be powerful,” Selma supplied the last looking at Paige.

“You keep saying that, but I don’t understand.”

“Forgive the males, they sometimes forget they have lived with this knowledge all their lives, we are just learning. We, the females who are compatible with the Arbrin and Matra, draw our power from specific places. The moon, the sun, the earth, the water, and the wind.”

“You think I am somehow connected to the sun?”

“We think the sun enhances your natural talent, it will allow you to do more than you think you are capable of doing. Of course we don’t know for sure, it’s simply speculation at this point.”

“What do you draw your power from, Selma?”

  “The moon.”

Paige turned to look at Victor. “What do you draw your power from?”

“We’re not from here Paige, our power is internal. Although the moon does have sway over me and allows me to do the one thing I couldn’t do without it.”

  “What’s that?”

  “Power Selma.”

  “Explain.”

“Selma is strong, but when the moon is not visible she is using internal strength that can deplete quickly. With me, she can tap into her energy using greater power with a slower draw on her reserves because I always feel the moon no matter where the earth is in proximity to it.”

“Cal, what about you?” Paige turned to look at him. The expression on her face giving away the doubt she was feeling.

“I’m the sun, Paige. I can feel it anywhere; even now in the dead of winter it warms me. Still I don’t need it and have never thought of using it until I met you.”

She concentrated on her food, leaving the subjects of the sun and the moon for another time. How did she manage to become entangled with this family? Images of her lonely apartment flashed before her eyes. Thoughts of her sanity lingered. She followed the path that led to Cal to find him thinking about her. He was worried that she was being overwhelmed with information. She retreated, maybe he should worry. This was more than she bargained for when she agreed to soul bond. His warmth came out to wrap itself around her. Inhaling deeply, she acknowledged the truth, even if she knew all of this up front she would have gone through with it.

She entered into a soul bond with him because a large part of her didn’t want to give him up.

“So how do you plan to take care of me?”

“Grab your coat and boots, I will show you.”

She excused herself from the table and headed up the stairs.

  *~*~*~*

“Victor, I’m not buying the excuse the Sudir wants me because of who I am.”

“Funny thing, Cal. That’s exactly why he wants you.”

“Then maybe you should tell me the rest of the reason.”

“Not yet little brother, go show your soul bond around. Enjoy this time while you have it.”

Cal walked out shaking his head; he would have to push Victor, but not yet. His brother was like a mountain when he didn’t want to budge. He went to his room to get a coat, sitting on his dresser was the ring his mother sent with him when his parents sent them to earth. The ring was a beautiful emerald, now it glowed with a power he never saw before. Picking it up, he slipped it into his pocket.

“Are you ready?” Paige asked as Cal walked down the steps.

  “I am.”

They left the house walking quickly through the yard until they reached the street. She stopped looking around.

  “Is it safe?”

“It’s safe for now. If he were around I would have picked up on it. If I didn’t our guardian snow woman would have warned us.”

“The snow woman is really a guardian?”

“Vick has some amazing talents for one so young. That snow woman is sensitive. Any hint of danger we will know about it. To answer your question, Paige, I want children with you when the time is right.”

  “I want children, too.”

They walked down the street hand in hand until they came to a large store front with beautiful paintings on one side and majestic sculptures on the other.

“Cal, look at this! It’s magnificent.” In the window was a sculpture of a woman with her head turned up like she was bathing in the glow of the moon that hung over-head. “Is that Selma?”

  “Yes. Do you like it?”

  “I love it, it’s beautiful.”

“Victor refuses to let me sell it. It protects the store and scares the Sudir’s.”

“Why does it scare the Sudir?”

“Someone may have started the rumor that Selma has the ability to hide in her own likeness and she waits hoping to find a Sudir alone to take apart.”

She shook her head and followed him into the gallery.

The paintings were amazing and made her feel like she was actually there. The statues were so life-like she expected one to say hello at any moment.

“Who did all of these paintings and what statues did you do?”

“I did all of them and Victor did all the paintings.”

“How could he do so many? How could you?”

  “We had years to
work while we were in hiding.”

The gallery consisted of two floors. She stopped in the middle of the stairs.

  “Why were you in hiding?”

“The earth was a very different place when we first arrived. We were all males and most of us younger than Vick. We wanted to go unnoticed, but the size of the males protecting us brought challenges. They took us to a place we could be safe without the threat of unwanted challenges.”

“How long have you been here, Cal?”

“Ask me again when you really want to know, Paige.” She nodded her head and continued upstairs, she really didn’t want to think he was any older than thirty although he already told her centuries.

The upstairs was even more breathtaking. She was amazed at the talent he and his brother displayed. It must take years to make something this amazing. She walked over to a sculpture that was covered up. Pulling off the sheet she saw herself, it was half done but it was definitely her.

She was beautiful, she blinked her eyes fast trying not to cry.

“I want you to see what I see every time I look at you, Paige.”

She gave him a watery smile and threw her arms around him. She felt her heart soften as he whispered in her ear, “Let’s go home.”

They walked out the gallery hand in hand starting back in the direction of their home.

“Cal, why do the Sudir’s want the mates of the Arbrin’s?”

“Remember how I told you they bombarded our planet and many of them stayed behind thinking they would be unharmed?”

She nodded her head and waited.

“The Sudir’s developed some type of link to our kind that makes them crave as well as need what we need. We need our mates. The Sudir’s need our mates because they will feed on them for centuries or more especially if one is mated before they capture them.”

“So a Sudir waits for us to bond then captures us.”

“No. They wait for you to get close to bonding. Capturing a bonded female is almost impossible and extremely dangerous to attempt. They want you to have use of your powers but to have a focus. A mate always serves as a focus. Also, no bonded male is willing to give up the most important thing in his world. I will not let him have you, Paige.”

They walked the rest of the way lost in their thoughts.

  Chapter Fifteen

Home wasn’t to her room, it was to his. His suite of rooms was decorated in black and silver. The couch in the living area was massive and sturdy. She looked over to see stray hairs on it.

“Does your Matra sit on the couch also?” His Matra was much bigger than his more human form; she could see why he would need something sturdy.

“Yes, we switch forms all the time when we’re alone. There is no reason for one form to be dominant. When we are in the public eye or a space where we might be spotted I always stay in this form.”

“Is it like two different people sharing one body?”

“No we are one, think of it more like right and left brain activity. With one side of your brain you do one thing, with the other you do something completely different. It’s just on a more developed level. I’m still me no matter what form I take and my Matra is still my Matra even in this form. Confusing?”

She shook her head yes and walked around. “I like your space, although it is a bit dark.”

  “Too dark for the sun?”

  “Don’t change it for me.”

“Too late, we’ll go shopping whenever you want. That way we can make it our space.”

“Cal, I’m not trying to change you.”

“I changed when we soul bonded. I became something I never was before and so did you. Now we have to find our way together, that’s the hardest part. A furniture change, some paint, now that’s no big deal. What do you think of having Victor paint a mural on one of the walls?”

  “Really? I would love that.”

She walked around the room picturing it with a woman’s touch. She never got into decorating when she moved into her own apartment, it didn’t seem worth the time. Now excitement ran through her. The thought of making this suite a home had decorating ideas she’d made note of through the years coming to mind. It would be fun.

She was floored, it really would be fun. She spent so many lonely days moping around that fun was no longer in her vocabulary. She’d laughed more in the last two days than in the past year. Of course, there was also more adventure in her life now as well as danger. Her nerve endings tingled, she felt alive for the first time in what felt like forever.

Looking at Cal, she smiled. He was the reason, he really was sunshine whether he knew it or not. The brightness she felt within herself started with him. Walking over to where he was seated on the couch, she leaned in for a quick kiss.

“Cal, would you show me your Matra?”

  “Paige, are you sure?”

“Well yeah. It wouldn’t do for me to walk out of the bedroom and start screaming because he was sitting on the sofa.”

  “We won’t hurt you.”

  “I know, can he speak?”

  “Yes.”

She took off the coat she was still clinging to like a security blanket. She put it away allowing it to rest among his clothes. Grinning, she sat on the couch. Small steps she told herself as she prepared herself not to be afraid.

He stood pulling his sweater and tee over his head revealing a hard muscled chest.

Her hands twitched with the desire to trace each muscle, to lick and nibble at him. His nipples fascinated her; she could play with them forever. Although she’d rather explore that small patch of hair that started low on his abdomen and disappeared into his pants.

She twitched, becoming increasingly more uncomfortable as her body heated up. The pleasure from last night teased her mind making her want a repeat as she throbbed wanting him to fill her. The thought of him, big and thick, thrusting into her brought a strangled sound from her lips.

  “Paige, are you alright?”

“Never better. Still waiting to see your Matra.”

He took off his pants revealing the fact that he wore boxers.

“Not a briefs kind of guy?” She gave him a sexy look.

“Briefs are too tight with all of this.” He causally waved his hand in front of himself.

Paige found herself laughing despite herself. It appeared that males, no matter what planet they were from, were always proud of what they were packing.

“The jury’s out until I see for myself.”

  “Just say the word, Sunshine.”

He changed. It was a blink of an eye. One moment he was standing before her then his Matra was there. No wonder she thought it was a monster. He was huge. The boxers that barely clung to his lean hips were filled out now by his Matra. Unless she missed her guess, his Matra was anatomically correct, also. If Cal was half the size in his Arbrin form it would be a snug fit. She twitched again thinking of having all of him stuffed inside of her. Turning her mind away from hot sweaty sex, she looked at Cal’s Matra.

Cal stood even taller in his other form. His build reminded her of some body builders she’d watched on television. Every muscle was bulging, she could see every line in this thighs, arms, and chest. She felt shocked by her desire to touch him. His face was attractive after you got past the fact that it obviously wasn’t human. It was the long shape, more of a triangle shape than an oval one that screamed not human. He had a fine layer of hair over his body that her fingers wanted to pet. His skin looked striped with deeper browns reminding her of a wild cat. The more she looked at him the more she became comfortable and her body began to respond to him.

He really wasn’t monstrous looking. Although if she met him in a dark alley she would still scream and run.

  “Hi, I’m Paige.”

“I know who you are, Sunshine.” His voice came out low and deep.

“So you’re Cal, just in a different form.”

“We are Matra, the same but different in this form. The other form we are Arbrin, also the sa
me but different.”

  “I am trying to understand.”

“We are like identical twins, the same but different.”

“Alright, I understand a little better now.”

“May I sit by you, Paige?”

She nodded and waited as he came to sit on the couch leaving a little space between them so she would feel comfortable.

  “Can I touch you?”

He nodded not saying anything as he watched her creep closer.

Sucking in a deep breath, she touched the side of his face. Feeling the hair on his cheek tickle her. His hair was brown just like the Arbrin form although the Matra’s was longer. Her fingers wandered down his jaw to the curve of his neck. She slid her hand down to his arms, they were covered in a layer of fine hair. Her fingertips traced the muscles as she reached over and blew where her fingers had been.

“Paige,” his voice came out even deeper. “We want you.”

  “All words no action.”

His form quickly changed into the Arbrin. For a minute she regretted the loss of the Matra even as she knew there was no way she could take him in that form.

Cal reached over pulling her onto his lap.

“My control is shot, Paige and I need you.” His words were spoken directly into her ear as he rubbed the hard ridge of his cock against her.

  “I need you, Cal.”

She didn’t know what was pushing her, maybe it was a side effect of the soul bond with him, but she needed to feel him deep inside of her. She was on fire and desired what he could give her to drive the flames higher before banking them.

She tugged her shirt over her head before reaching behind her back to unhook her bra letting her breasts flow free. She gasped when he sucked her nipple into his mouth. Fire consumed her running up her spine and her hands fumbled as she tried to undo the button on her pants.

He released her nipple with an audible pop as he stood her up quickly undoing her pants and stripping her.

“You’re so beautiful,” he said in a hushed tone as he looked at her.

Quickly he took off his boxers giving Paige her first look at him. He was thick and long. She choked at the sight. His cock jutted out with a slight curve to it. The thought of him buried deep inside her had liquid pooling between her pussy lips.
