Bad Boy, Back in Town

by Summer Jordan

“I haven’t been thinking about you all this time like you must think.” Her throaty tone belied her words but she rushed on. “I’ve been busy. I graduated from college with a major…”

He moved one foot from behind her onto her lap and started doing that wiggling thing in the front. “Kitten,” Rob said softly. “I’ve thought of you so many times.”

“You…you have?” The man had magic toes. She couldn’t help herself. He was getting to her. He wasn’t listening anyway. Front and back. She’d started to tremble and pant. He sat up and pulled her onto his lap and started with his fingers instead. He used to do this to placate her but she’d always wanted more. Wanted his hard throbbing penis deep inside her. Not his fingers…although she never objected to what little he gave her. She’d wanted to tell him so, but she’d been too embarrassed.

His fingers were magic too. She touched his arm. “No. You can’t. We can’t. Aunt Sug will…”

“What? If she comes out here, I’ll stop. Besides, listen. She’s snoring.”

Stop? And leave me trembling with desire? If Rob was inside me, I couldn’t quit even with Auntie watching. “She’s probably preten—”

“You’re wet through your gown. You want me to make you come. You know you do.”

He took her clit between his finger and thumb and teased it, making her gasp. He was right. She wanted an orgasm and she wanted it now. Fucking would be too risky. They might get caught, but this way, Auntie could walk in and not realise what they were up to. Kitt turned towards Rob and surrendered, raising her mouth for a kiss.

He delved inside with his tongue and she grew breathless. Her nipples ached and her pussy tingled. She was growing wetter by the minute. She grabbed his face and held it tightly between her hands and kissed him hard and deep.

His rigid cock pressed into her side and she panted. She tried to rub up against it but he was fingering her and stroking her clit. He pushed over the little nubbin and into her hot sex, back and forth, in and out, tantalising it each time he entered her with his hand. The motion was maddening and magical.

“My God,” Kitt whispered. “I want you.”

  “You always did.”

  “Then why…?”

He sped up the movement, pushing deeper, his finger-fucking blotting out everything else. No thoughts, only sensation. That heavenly feeling forming in her loins told her she was going to climax. The overwhelming desire for an orgasm to wash over her was tempered with the faint undertone of wanting this never to end. Then, like a tidal wave of total submission and joy, she came. Her juices flowed and the lips of her pussy pulsated. Spasms shook her body and she clung to…Rob Harrison. Kitt couldn’t believe he’d come back.

  Chapter Two

Rob threw back his head and laughed. “What did I say? You always did want me.”

She wanted to smack him but she was too weak. Too happy for now, even if it wasn’t what she really wanted. Kitt grinned lazily. “You knew, so why didn’t you fuck me?”

“You were a nice girl. My best friend. You were a virgin and I didn’t want to take that away from you. I couldn’t. I felt guilty even doing that.” He touched her still tingling pussy. “But I was afraid if I didn’t do something, you’d find someone who would screw you.”

“You fucked other girls. They told me and I cried because I didn’t think you liked me.”

  “You were wrong.”

She touched his nipple with her fingertip. It hardened and he grabbed up his t-shirt. “You don’t know how much I longed to make love to you.”

“But you’re doing it again. Pulling away from me. Why?”

“For some of the same reasons.”

She was vulnerable and the one who should be shying away. Falling in love with Rob again would be a big mistake. They’d pretended to be best friends, and she had hugged that thought to her trying to make up for the hurt and longing, but she’d been in love with him. Did he know that too?

  “Name one,” she said.

Shrugging, he tugged the shirt on over his head. His muscles rippled and she watched longingly as he pulled the pliable material over his golden chest hair, wanting to lay her face against that soft mat. He looked even better with a tan. As if ‘better’ was possible.

“You’re really brown and your eyelashes have bleached out. Have you been spending a lot of time outdoors?” she asked, sighing. “I remember you saying you wanted to be a ‘suntan man’ and sell tanning oil on the beach.”

He chuckled. “It would have been the perfect job for me. Flexing my muscles and watching hot gals in bikinis.”

“Demonstrating the oil by rubbing it on them?” She watched him fish around on the floor looking for his other shoe. Why was he so eager to get away? Was he afraid of her? “You know? I never did totally ‘get’ you.”

He cracked his knuckles, and she recalled that was one of the few signs of unease he ever showed. Most of the time he came across as self-assured. Cocky even.

“You came closer than anyone did. I spent more quality time with you. You really listened when I talked, and when I cracked a joke, you lit up the room with your smile.”

Resting his elbows on his knees, Rob folded his hands. “Mostly, I didn’t want anyone to ‘get me’ and I’m not sure I’m ready now.” He cracked his knuckles again. “I shouldn’t have come tonight.”

  “You didn’t. I did.”

He looked at her, surprise written across his features, and to lighten the mood even more, Kitt winked.

“You’ve grown up, babe.” He rubbed a hand over his bare head.

“I was a naive teenager, an immature innocent, but I’m thirty years old. Isn’t it time?”

“Does that mean you’re not a virgin anymore?” He chuckled. It was a moot question and he didn’t wait for an answer. “Thirty. Sometimes I feel old, like maybe I haven’t lived enough and time’s going too fast. ”

She suspected he’d done a lot more “living” than she had, but it was that same feeling which caused her to admit she hated her job as a school librarian. Her dad wanted her to be a teacher and she’d started out in education. Having worked in the school library for seven years, she felt as if she was sitting in a stagnant pond when she could be surfing on ocean waves.

Rob touched the pearl on her finger. “Who’s the guy?”

Was that the reason he said he shouldn’t have come here? Because he thought there was another guy? Or was he more tempted by her than he wanted to be?

“No one.” Lionel said they’d call it a pre-engagement ring until she actually said ‘yes’ and set a wedding date. Then he’d get her a diamond. But Kitt had her reasons for not making a commitment, and Rob needn’t know that he was one of them. She hadn’t realised it herself until he showed up tonight.

“Just a friend.” She felt a twinge of guilt. She hated lying. She usually crossed her fingers when she fibbed, an old childhood habit. But Rob was looking at her hands.

  “What’s this friend’s name?”

  “Lionel. He’s a researcher.”

  “Li-o-nel? He’s a damned train.” Rob broke up. “I’ll bet he’s a pussy.”

“That is so not true.” She didn’t appreciate Rob’s guffawing. She’d purposely avoided saying Lionel was a research librarian. “He is intelligent and suave and ga…”

  “Gay?”

“Stop that. I was going to say, ‘gainfully employed’.” Although lately, she had begun to wonder if Lionel wasn’t overly concerned with his appearance. “The last I knew, you didn’t have a job and were talking about hitchhiking across the country.”

“And you worried I’d end up murdered.” Sitting close to her, he poked a finger in her chest. “You were the only one who would have cared.”

She grabbed his finger. “You’ve never married?”

“Once, for a short time, but I discovered what I should have known, that I’m not the marrying kind. Big surprise, huh, kid?”

“The surprise to me is that you married at all.” She loo
ked up at his tanned head. “Why did you shave off your wonderful blond hair?”

“I read in GQ that shaved heads were sexy.”

GQ? Rob? “Like you needed any help.”

“Now the articles say I should be letting my whiskers grow. Are you turned on by a five-o’clock shadow?”

She traced his jaw line and smiled. “I think that usually refers to five P.M. but you have one now, and yes, I’m turned on.”

“I thought we took care of that.” Smiling, he rubbed his chin while pointing to the window. “Dawn’s beginning to break. The sun will come out soon. I’d better leave. We don’t want to give old lady Jones anything to gossip about. Does she still live there?”

“I wouldn’t know. I haven’t visited Aunt Sug in a while. I should have come before now but…” Kitt shrugged. She wasn’t sure why she hadn’t but Summerville hadn’t seemed the same since she graduated high school and Rob left town. A few weeks later, she left for college. “Of course, once I learned about her illness, I headed this way. I’m her only relative except for my mom, and she and Dad are in England.”

Rob stood and pulled her to her feet. “She told me she’d had some health problems. Anything serious?”

“Mom thought it was life-threatening. Cancer, perhaps. But Sug doesn’t want to talk about it.”

He nodded and walked towards the door he’d fallen through earlier.

Kitt followed. “Where are you living and how long have you been here?”

“Two weeks and I’m at Crown Pointe Condominiums. Unit 309.”

A condo? GQ. Top of the line tennis shoes and name brand shirt and jeans. She couldn’t help but wonder. “What are—?”

“You ask too many questions. Like I said, I have to go.”

She was going to inquire about his employment but maybe he sensed that. He must do something to make a living. Was he ashamed of the way he made his money? She hoped it wasn’t illegal.

Flashing his dimples, Rob kissed her on the lips, fast but with tongue. His moods and manner changed like quicksilver. He flirted, grew intimate, then when she did in return, he backed away.

“Your aunt said she expected you to stay around for a while so I sought out real estate.” He widened his stance and his grin.

“Real estate? You bought?” Because of me? She was afraid to ask but her heart pounded and her hopes rose.

“Leased. Buying is too permanent. Leasing is a bigger commitment than I usually make.”

She could believe that. “Should I ask the length of your lease?”

“You should not.” Grinning and lowering his thick lashes, he tipped her chin with his forefinger and looked into her eyes. “I do remember your name, by the way. It’s Kitt.”

He’d heard Auntie and her talking. Had he faked the whole drunk-and-passed-out thing? She planted her hands on my hips. “You—”

“Kitt is a nickname for Katherine, but you’re my Kitten.”

He remembered. ‘Kitten’ was what he called her when they were alone. She smiled.

He opened the door and looked out and she followed his gaze.

The first morning light shown on a shiny black sports car parked behind hers. He used to drive a rusted-out brown bomber he found at the junkyard and got running. Another big change for Rob Harrison.

  “Nice wheels,” she said.

“Thanks.” He tapped a fist to her chin. “See you.” He jogged down the walk.

See me? She could barely keep herself from calling out, “When?”

He blew the horn—an ahooga sound that no doubt woke Aunt Sug, Mrs. Jones, and the rest of the world. Who, but Rob Harrison, would put one of those outrageous horns on a gorgeous, expensive car? Kitt had told him he hadn’t changed, and he was still outrageous, adorable, and unbearably sexy, but he’d sure come up in the world.

One way. Or another? She had to know how.

Kitt poured two cups of coffee and, lacing one with sugar and cream, she sighed. Rob said he came by Auntie’s last night because he knew she’d arrived. And he’d leased a condo because of her. Or so he said. Was he feeding her a mile-thick line of crap or had he actually harboured a long-time interest in her? Kitt’s heart raced with hope and her body ached with desire.

She was about to serve the sweet creamy cup of java to Sug in bed when she appeared in her blue and white, eat-in kitchen, fully dressed.

“If you don’t mind, I’ll take a piece of wheat toast and honey with that, Kitt.”

“You’re mighty perky this morning,” she replied, dropping a piece of bread in the toaster. “I thought you were supposed to stay in bed.”

“I didn’t say that. You did. Anyway, I got a good night’s rest. I’ll get bed sores if I spend all my time lying down.”

Sug was still snoring or pretending to after the horn incident and Kitt, thankful not to be questioned, had fallen into bed and a deep sleep. Sexual satisfaction must have been just what she needed. Lord, that man was good at what he did. Now, if she could just get him into the sack for the real thing. She’d love to see his penis. Stroke it. The closest she’d ever gotten was groping his hard-on through his pants before he’d brushed her hand away.

She’d often dreamed about its solid length beneath her fingers as she traced the cording and fingered the smooth, solid head. She’d like to touch that tiny opening and coax a drop of his fluid from it.

“If you start purring, I’m going to throw cold water on you,” Sug said, tapping her knife against her coffee cup. “My toast is ready, my coffee’s cold, and I’m getting older by the minute.”

“You don’t act like an ailing aunt.” Cheeks burning, Kitt turned her back while she buttered her aunt’s toast and got out the honey pot. She shouldn’t even think about having sex with Rob because once she’d had his penis inside her, she instinctively knew she’d become obsessed with wanting him to fuck her. Feeling his hot, hard cock inside her would immediately become addictive and she’d never want to leave town again. But she had a job to return to in Orlando after she’d solved her first case. She had this one chance to become a detective and spend her life fighting crime.

Besides, Rob wasn’t likely to stay put for long. She set down Auntie’s food and refilled her cup.

Sug nodded her thanks. “You can go ahead and smile and look all dreamy now. You always were crazy about that Harrison boy. Nice he showed up, although he is a handful.”

He was also handy with his fingers and toes. Smothering a smile, Kitt poured herself a bowl of cereal and sat down on the other side of the table. “How do you suppose he happened to show up the day after I got here?”

“You know how this town is. Everybody knows everything. Nosy Jonesy next door could have blabbed the news.”

So she did still live there. “Since she rarely goes out, how probable is it she had an opportunity to talk to Rob? It’s more likely that you saw him somewhere and told him you were expecting me.” Kitt leant forward and gave Auntie the evil eye. “Isn’t that what happened?”

“Aha. You got back up to see him after pretending to go to bed, and he ratted me out. I expected as much. How was it?” Sug gave Kitt a broad wink.

Kitt’s cheeks grew warm but she refused to give in to embarrassment. She wasn’t the one in the hot seat. “Don’t aha me. Nothing happened. Own up.”

“Have you forgotten? I didn’t know you were coming.”

“Yes, you did. You knew as soon as you told my father that you were very ill, I’d be here right away.”

“Okay, so you got me. It was underhanded of me but I wanted you here, Kitt. I miss you but since you have a job and a boyfriend, it would have been presumptuous to ask that you drop everything to spend time with me. However, if you made the decision on your own…” She shrugged. “You’re like the daughter I never had and after I ran into Rob downtown and he asked about you, I thought it would be good for everybody if you showed up.

“School is out for the summer and you have time off, plus you should be glad to get away from that Lionel
guy.” Sug turned up her nose. “Plus, I’ll bet your job is as exciting as picking lint off a black dress.”

“I…have to admit that working as a school librarian isn’t much fun. I know…you never thought it would be, and you were right.”

“You shouldn’t have listened to your dad, but you always did. You’re too good, Kitt. You need more spirit.” Sug beamed and clapped her hands. “And I have a plan. Stay here with me for a couple of months while I get my health back.” She coughed a little and held her chest. “Meanwhile, shop around and find a job you’ll like here. I’d feel so much better if you were close.”

This wasn’t the time to tell Sug she was already considering another job and it wasn’t in Summerville.

“I’m sure we can find you a man here that’s better the one you’ve got,” Sug went on. “One that will actually make you happy. You’re not in love, I betcha. Lionel probably wears white socks and looks like a sissy next to Rob Harrison.”

Kitt chuckled. Her aunt was so predictable. “It wouldn’t matter if Lionel were a body builder and a nudist. You’ve always been in Rob’s corner. Nothing’s changed.”

Sug fiddled with her spoon, moving it around on the tablecloth, lining it up with the stripes. A faraway look crossed her face and Kitt knew she was remembering their trip to the doctor to get Kitt a prescription for birth control pills and to a pharmacy in the next town to get it filled. She didn’t even ask Kitt if she needed them. Sug just told her they were going.

“You were a nervy old broad,” Kitt said.

Sug chuckled and patted her hand. “Your mama was so oblivious to the urges of a teenage girl, she might as well have come over on the Mayflower. You had a mighty strong crush and I wanted to keep you safe.”

The embarrassing part was that she took the pills and never needed them. Auntie would be disappointed if she knew, so Kitt never told her.

“He sure looks good, even without a hair on his head. And I kind of like the flash of that gold-tipped tooth every time he grins.”
