She cupped his face in her hands and said in her best forties film star voice, “I never loved him. It was you—it was always you. Dammit, kid, I can’t live without you.”
Then she drew him closer and kissed him, and he plunged his hands in her hair and kissed her back like he never meant to stop. Which would have been fine with her.
When they finally paused to catch their breath, he pressed his forehead against hers and clasped his hands at the small of her back. “I’m totally serious, you know,” he said. “About loving you.”
“I know,” she said softly, reaching up to touch his cheek. “I love you, too.”
He sighed deeply and closed his eyes.
“Have you ever been to Nova Scotia?” she asked.
He pulled her close and planted a firm kiss on the top of her head before saying, “No, I never have.”
“Me either. Want to take a road trip?”
He gripped her tighter, and she felt snug and warm against his chest.
“I’d follow you anywhere,” he said.

The Sweet Spot...
Crystal McAlister’s bakery, Sweet Happens, consumes almost every minute of her life. Except for the time she devotes to the wrong kinds of men. Men who are all talk and no action—unless they’re all action and no talk. So she’s decided to swear off men and funnel her energy into expanding her business. A local restaurant mogul is willing to be an investor, but only if Crystal moves into the digital age. Considering that she can barely work her iPhone, this could be a deal breaker for her dream. Except that she’s just met an adorable technology whiz.
When his father died, Kyle Richardson was left with a small inheritance and the realization that he’s only ever done what was expected of him. On a whim, he uprooted himself and moved cross-country to Washington, D.C., for a job as an IT director at a small nonprofit. When he isn’t working or taking long runs along the Potomac River, he’s tinkering with computers. But figuring out who he wants to be is proving harder than he thought, and he’s feeling a little lost—until he crosses paths with Crystal, who is more enchanting and lively than any woman he’s ever known.
Kyle could hold the key to Crystal’s future, but can she convince him to come out of his shell long enough to help her? And can she do it without violating her ban on falling in love?
