No Way Out (The James Family Book 2)

When my eyes finally made it to her face, I saw that she’d been doing her own appraisal. I hope she liked what she saw. Fuck, I was more pathetic than my brother. She gave me an appreciative downward glance and blushed. I looked down to see my dick was also anxious to see her.
It was too much for me. “Hello, Emmy.” I pulled her into my arms like we knew each other for forever. She felt better than I’d envisioned during every dirty thought of her. My dick was so hard that I knew not only could she see it but feel it, too.
Emmy didn’t resist my hold on her, so I used it to my advantage. I pulled my face back to look at her without letting her go, and I couldn’t stop myself. I bent down to taste her lips. It was a big mistake because one sip wasn’t going to be enough. The sound of a police siren brought me back to reality. I looked into her eyes and she was just as stunned as I was by what happened.
“Hello, Simon,” she muttered, her eyes glazed. The way she melded into my kiss, I knew that I had her. She wasn’t as oblivious as Natalie made it seem. Maybe she didn’t want me to know that Emmy apparently remembered me.
“I didn’t plan that. You’re just too fucking beautiful.” I stepped back grabbing both her wrists, holding them out so I could see her entire body. She didn’t respond with words. She blushed then looked around me at the car. There was a meter cop almost at my car, ready to get me for standing there too long.
“I think we should go before she gets to your car.”
“Fine, sweetheart. Besides, Nat’s anxious with all the wedding crap. Don’t need her sending her bulldog after me.”
“Your brother?” she asked.
“No, my sister.” She giggled, so I gave her a peck before walking to my car. I put her stuff in the backseat and helped her into the passenger side. But not without stealing one more kiss.
Once I pulled away from her lips, she grimaced. “You need to stop doing that,” she said.
“I need to do more of it,” I countered. She let me in on her attraction, and I wasn’t going to let her get away with denying it.
I buckled her in just because I needed another reason to be close to her before Natalie stole her away from me. Natalie was lucky that I understood it was her wedding day. Letting Emmy get out of my reach wasn’t something I wanted to do. Closing her door, I gave her a wink before walking around the front of the truck and climbing in.
Once I started the engine, I turned to her. “Babe, let’s get you to Natalie so we can get this wedding over with— then you’re mine.”
She gave me a stunned look, her mouth moving like she was going to argue, but she was at a loss for words. She just sat straighter in her seat and faced forward.
I took her silence as acceptance. “That’s right, babe. I’m glad you agree.” I could see the stain of the blush on her cheeks. She was so damn lucky we had somewhere to be. “Later…” I growled to myself then pulled out into traffic.
“Yours?” she asked after regaining her composure.
We were stopped at a light so I turned with a serious stare and confirmed it. “Yes, Emmy.”
“I’m not yours. We don’t even know each other.” I knew she was going to play this game with me, but I dug so much information out of Natalie these last few weeks that I knew we were perfect for each other.
“We will. Have you met Cam yet?”
“Uh, duh, but what does that have to do with anything?” Sassy. I liked that shit.
“We’re of the same stock.”
Chapter Five
I was trying to catch my breath as we pulled up to this massive estate. I knew that they were wealthy, but shit, this was ridiculous. They made celebrities look poor. It was grand and as the gates opened, I felt out of place.
“What’s wrong?”
“Nothing.”
“Are you worried about spending time my parents? Don’t. I know they’ll love you.” He pulled my hand he was holding to his lips and kissed it. I wanted to melt into my seat. He was too damn smooth for my inexperienced heart. I wanted him so much, but he wasn’t in love with me like Cam was with Natalie.
“You’re so damn rich.”
“Is that what’s got that concerned look on your face?” I gave him a nod. “Babe, money gives us the things we need and want, but it doesn’t make our character. We are wealthy because we work hard and smart for it.”
“That’s why. I didn’t come from this. My family is broken and not the best of people.”
“So what? You are, and you think the world of your brother so he must be something special. We can’t pick our parents or make their choices. All we can do is show them that we can’t be held down by their mistakes. You’re mine and we got this. Our kids will know what a good marriage is and will have all they need to become successful in their own right. It’s not that serious, Emmy. Cameron isn’t marrying Natalie because she has money. She’s in the same boat as you. He’s marrying her because he can’t imagine his life without her.” I sighed because it was true. “Just so you know, I’m in the same boat as well.”
I could hardly breathe. Why was he torturing me like this? My feelings were chaotic and I hadn’t ever experienced sentiments like this before. Most of the people I knew got divorced or were miserable in their marriages. Jumping in may be too much for me to handle.
“Let’s get this show on the road.”
He walked me into the house with his hand around my waist and Natalie came running down the large staircase. We hugged, which took me out of Simon’s hold. As much as I loved Nat, the hug was nothing compared to Simon’s simple touch, which was splendid because I needed some space to let my panties dry and get my mind out of the damn gutter.
Natalie grabbed my hand and dragged me upstairs before I even got to say bye to Simon; however, I did manage a brief glance. His eyes were trained on mine, but his smile was missing. He sported a childish pout that I wanted to kiss. Damn his sexy face. Menace. Panty fucking destroyer.
It wasn’t long before he came upstairs with my things. The whole time staring at me while I was reintroduced to his sister Vanessa and his mother. Natalie laughed and sent him on his way. I was torn about him leaving. I didn’t want to him to go, but I also didn’t want him to see Natalie undressed again. She told me about the embarrassing moment between them, one day on the phone. Simon walked in on Natalie satisfying Cam in the gym. Since then, I harbored irrational jealousy towards her.
I could tell Nat wanted to ask me about the ride from the airport, but she knew I wouldn’t dish out any details in front of others. I was a total social butterfly, but my private life was just that— private.
The stylists did our hair and makeup for the next two hours, which in actuality felt like a whole day. It wasn’t that I didn’t like to get pampered; I just wanted to see Simon again. I missed him. That short ride had solidified the longing I had for him, making it nearly unbearable to be away from him. I hoped to hell it wasn’t permanent. I didn’t want to be a clingy chick, but I couldn’t help my feelings. Maybe it was just because I was horny as hell.
I was still a virgin, but my mind went to visions of sex in the driver’s seat or on the front lawn, or my back pressed against the stairs as Simon fucks me up them. My thighs vibrated with needed attention. I squeezed my eyes closed trying to ease the ache, but with them shut, Simon appeared. He gave me a crooked grin, his blue eyes full of wicked intentions. He dropped to his knees, his brow arched as he forcefully pushed my thighs apart. Smiling mischievously, he started placing kisses on my pussy. I moaned aloud and became fully mortified when I heard, “I want the hairstyle she’s having.”
The room of women roared with laughter and my pale face pinked. With a shrug, I joined them but knew Simon was a menace. I was going to need attention on my kitty soon or I would embarrass myself worse than I already had.
Chapter Six
The moment I caught sight of Emmy walking down the aisle I wanted to rush to her like I was the one getting married today. Hell, I was ready to push over Cam and take his
place. My heart thumped like a Timbaland beat while my dick throbbed. I had that thick fucker tucked against my waistband hiding it with my suit coat, but I knew I wasn’t going to be able to undo my jacket all night. My cock was tearing my pants at the seam as I watched her walk toward me. She had a nervous but happy smile.
Her dress was pink, but a much softer shade than what she had on earlier. It flowed down her body but tightened and cupped her big breasts, accentuating them even more. Even with tits abound, she still looked elegant. Her hair was in some up-do thing with strands of her curly locks hanging around her face. Her lips were a glossy peach color and I wondered if they tasted like it. Fuck, I would love to eat her peach. My eyes moved to the length of the gown. It went to her feet, but I could see her painted pale pink toenails peeking out with each step. I hadn’t found toes sexy until now; then again, everything about Emmy was sexy to me.
I liked that the dress was floor-length because if it were shorter, I might have had to break a motherfucker or two’s jaw. The one she had on this morning would never be worn in public again because that shit was way too short for public consumption. When she walked up the stairs, I got a great view of her thigh right where her ass met it. That sight had me grunting, almost coming in my pants. After getting her in the house, I grabbed her luggage. When I got to the staircase, I was torn. I didn’t know if I was going to let her keep her planned room or have her shit put into mine, but knowing she might need some of the items in the suitcase now, I handed it over.
My eyes scanned the crowd; there were too many eligible bachelors here. I wanted to poke each one of their eyes out for ogling what was mine. They all took in her appearance and I knew some of these fucks were getting hard thinking about getting at her. That shit wasn’t going to happen. I needed to keep tabs on her all night.
By the time she reached her spot across from me, I knew I’d been hit by the James freight train of love. It hit every one of us. Damn, I love her, I thought to myself. I hated that all I saw was a profile of her. That wasn’t bad, but it meant that all those bastards were seeing her curves and her cleavage. I growled when I noticed that one of my brother’s employees winked at her. Looking to see her reaction had ticked me off; she blushed.
The moment Natalie reached the altar, I got to look at Emmy’s beautiful face. She was smiling at the couple, but I was watching her intently. She caught my stare and blushed again. As jealous as I was, I still took her smile and blush as my own. I didn’t see any of the wedding because my focus was on her and what I planned to do her tonight.
Once the ceremony was over, I played my part and hooked her arm in mine. My hold was more possessive than it should be. “You look stunning, Emmy. I don’t care for it.”
“Would you rather I looked like shit?”
“It’s not the point,” I argued, trying to find a point to make.
“Well, just so you know, you look handsome, and I have to deal with it. So get over it,” she snapped back but did so without that lovely smile on her face.
“Just know you belong to me.” I gripped her wrist then intertwined our hands. I could feel her pulse speed up.
“I like you, but don’t push it.” I wanted to laugh.

The reception was held just after the wedding in our large garden. And shit kicked off right away. With all the congratulations going around, I’d lost Emmy from my side. She thought she was slick. She knew that I was serious earlier, but she had no idea how serious. When I found her, she was by the bar taking a shot with the same guy who winked at her at the wedding.
No one stood in my way so when I got to her, I caught her by surprise. Pulling her arm, I turned her to me. “What did I say, Emmy?”
“I heard what you said and told you not to push, but you haven’t listened. I’m not Natalie. I won’t just fall at your feet.”
“Fine, sweetheart, but know this... Two can play that game.” I took her shot and slammed it back, letting the tequila burn my throat.
I turned to the jackass, “Hello, I’m Simon James.”
“I’m Carl Tanner.”
“Well, Carl, I’m Cameron’s brother. If you want to keep your job, you’ll stay away from my future wife. Understand me?”
“That’s not fair, Simon,” she griped and stomped her foot.
I gently grabbed her chin and whispered, “I never said I’d play fair.” Leaning down, I kissed her lips softly. She reacted just like I expected, clinging to my mouth with a hand pressed to my chest. I stepped back and gave him a smirk. “Have a nice night.”
I walked away with a smile, but I was pissed. What the fuck did she think she was doing?
My plan would work; I was sure of it. She didn’t like my bossy attitude, but she needed to learn that what she was doing wasn’t cool— especially when the tables were turned.
I walked up to a beautiful blonde and slid my hand onto her waist. Andy turned and hugged me. “My, don’t you look handsome. You clean up well.”
“You look beautiful, too.” I could feel the burn on the back of my neck. Those blue eyes were searing my skin with her anger.
We had talked for a few minutes before I looked back to where Emmy was standing and I smiled. That’s when I saw the look I didn’t want to see. She was about to cry. Fuck.
I rushed to her side but not soon enough. Nat was sitting at a party table with her now and they were talking. I joined them and took a seat.
“So what time does your flight leave on Sunday?” Nat asked nonchalantly. Sunday? I wasn’t going to let that happen.
“Ten in the morning.”
“That’s how long you’re staying?” I asked, shocked. I had to work quick.
“Yes. I do have a life to go back to.” Looked like somebody was mad at me.
“We’ll see about that,” I murmured into my brother’s ear. He chuckled and gave me a wink.
“What did you say?”
“What does it matter? Apparently, what I say means shit to you.”
“That’s not true.” She downed another drink. I wondered how many drinks she’d had already. I saw her with at least three and we were just getting ready to sit down to eat.
Even though we weren’t speaking to each other, we talked to the rest of the wedding party. I learned that she was still looking for a job and that she couldn’t stand her sister-in-law. I kept my eyes on her throughout our meal and noticed that she had another two drinks.
“How many drinks are you going to have?”
“Simon, just leave me be and go back to your woman. I knew you’d be no different than the other men. You’re no Cameron. He wouldn’t have run off to touch another woman just because she refused to do what he said.”
“What are you talking about? That jackass was almost all the way on top of you.”
“You’re nuts! He didn’t even touch me. He was flirting and that was it, but you let her kiss you.”
“Just my cheek.”
“Would you have liked it if some guy gave me a kiss on the cheek.”
“I’d deck him in the face and have him tossed out on his ass.”
“Well then,” she challenged.
“Emmy, Andy is my cousin. I wouldn’t touch another woman. You’re all I want.”
She dropped her head into her hands feeling embarrassed. I thought it was time for one dance then night-nights.
“Dance with me.” I grabbed her hand then her waist, pulling her close before sucking on her earlobe. “You’re mine. If you thought that stunt earlier was going to stop me, it didn’t.” I walked her to the center of the dance floor and twirled her into my arms. When she slammed into my chest, she smiled up at me and my heart almost gave out. She was going to be mine forever. I didn’t know how I could be so fortunate.
“I’m sorry about that guy. I just wanted to give us some space. My brother rushed into the relationship with his wife and she’s a nightmare. I know he’s not happy anymore. I didn’t want to jump into the fairytale life you have because I was sc
ared, but seeing you with someone else was too much to bear.”
“I know. Just know that I won’t be so nice next time you purposely gain another man’s attention. I’ll break the guy’s jaw.”
“I guess I can give us a chance.”
“That’s a good answer. Now it’s time to go to bed.”
“I want you naked too. You’re built so perfectly, Simon. I want to touch your body. I want to feel you,” she whispered. I was so hard from her words that I couldn’t wait to have her under me, but there was one huge problem— she was wasted. I looked at her eyes, although beautiful, they were glazed over. I saw Natalie and she was the only one I could trust for what I needed.
I walked us to her. “Nat. I need your help. Can you come with me for about five minutes?”
“I’m giving him my v-card tonight,” Emmy said enthusiastically. Cameron raised his brow, I could tell that he was concerned about her.
“That’s why I need Nat for a moment. Bro, come with too.”
We went to my room on the other side of the estate. Walking into my bedroom, Emmy drunkenly landed on my bed. “Your room is sexy. I want that big dick of yours, Simon.” I closed my eyes, knowing she was going to be embarrassed in the morning. I went to my drawer and pulled out some boxers and a tee shirt. I handed them to Nat. “Help her into these. I’m trying to be a gentleman, but I don’t think I can help her undress.” She gave me a nod before going to Emmy.
“Let’s go into the hall, Cam.” My brother scurried out of the room as fast as he could.
“As much as I don’t like the idea of my wife touching your boxers and being in your room, I’m proud of you. You love her like I love Nat. I know that it’s taking a lot of restraint not to act on her offer.”
