Xavier’s brows shot up just as Owen’s jaw sagged open. His beloved levered up on one elbow. “What are you saying, son?” He just about whispered the question.
“I’m gay, too. Why do you think me and Diana have been having so many problems.” Nate grimaced and looked toward the ceiling. “She thought I was cheating on her because I couldn’t perform for her anymore.”
“Awe, fuck.” Owen moved as if to shove the blanket aside, but then must have remembered he was naked underneath. Instead, he grimaced and said, “I’m sorry, Nate.”
The young man actually chuckled and grinned. “Awe, don’t worry about it, Pops. It’s not your fault.” Then he sobered. “Does mom know?”
Sighing, Owen shook his head. “No. I—” He paused and waved toward Xavier, smiling ruefully. “This is new. Never had a reason to before, but I will.”
Nate nodded and smiled. “We’ll do it together, huh?”
“Yeah.” Owen grinned. “I’d like that.”
Relief flooded Xavier. Not only would he not have to worry about Owen trying to force him to be his dirty little secret—being a vampire, there’d be enough secrets—his son already accepted and shared his father’s nature. It’d be easier for Owen to settle in, accept their relationship.
Owen grinned at Xavier and winked, before turning his focus back on his son. “Well, it looks like I’m gonna have to ask you for help moving this time.”
Smiling, Xavier looked forward to holding his beloved in his bed, loving him every night. He knew it was far too early for love, but in time, Xavier knew they’d get there.
“So,” Nate said, redrawing Xavier’s attention. He lifted a brow at the young human’s crossed arms and assessing look. “Exactly what are your intentions toward my father?”
