He heard the shower water kick on from the master bathroom. They’d redone that first. Grady had laid hardwoods and new tile throughout the house with the help of his brothers. The back bedroom was the last room to be completed. She’d informed him the night before that someday, this room, where they’d spent so many nights of their childhood together, would become a nursery. Though he looked forward to that, they were still working on making their relationship strong enough to sail without any worry before they worked on a family.

Nadya was picking out new fixtures for the kitchen, and Grady had willingly hired Ryan McNamara to handle the kitchen and bathroom remodels and the addition of a workshop for Nadya. He was also removing the awful brown paneling room by room and replacing it with sheetrock. Grady wanted her to have exactly what she wanted. All he needed was her.

The new roof had been expertly installed by Brock Camden two weeks before.

With his new and much larger paycheck, Beau and Mia were now sharing an apartment a few miles from the beach, much to her parent’s chagrin.

Maybe prejudices never really changed, but Grady decided that they had achieved many victories. The most important was the fact that his angel was in their shower, in their home, and with him every single day. They were a team again.

Having the third boat allowed the Haven brothers to legally bring in more fish. Twice a month, Grady, Nadya, Nate, and Beau, along with Mac and Molly, Ryan and Sienna, and most of the Gypsies on Gypsy Beach, went to see Ms. Cinderson. The Havens brought the fish. Everyone else brought the rest of the needed supplies in ample quantities.

Peter was currently serving a twenty-year stint in the state pen. Grady was certain he’d get out early, but since Bevins had been named interim sheriff until the elections, when he was certain to become the official sheriff, he wasn’t too worried. Bevins was keeping a close eye on Peter. He wouldn’t be given the opportunity to come near Nadya again, and this time the police would be there to back Grady up.

Grady stood and dusted off his jeans. He had to admit the old house looked fantastic. Nadya and Sienna had picked out beautiful finishes and furniture, and it was nice to have room to move, a real yard, a place to sit, electricity that didn’t require a generator, an entire kitchen to cook in, a door he didn’t have to duck to enter, a bathroom off of his bedroom and not across a dock in the office, and a king-sized bed where he made love to his beautiful angel most every morning and every single night.

Checking his watch again, he tried not to smirk. “Hey, Nate, I’ll finish this later. You head on. We’ve been at it all day.” He gestured his thumb towards the front door.

Nate laughed at him outright. “Uh huh, you’re not being nice. You’re just thinking Nady needs a little help with that shower?”

“Might’ve been thinking that.” Grady chuckled.

“Yeah, yeah, I’m going. You two don’t be late for dinner tonight.”
