The Suit (The Bro Series Book 3)

My diamond ring hand lands on top of Pax’s, but I remain silent.

  No.

  Once we’re married that’s it.

We will not go through some unnecessary messy divorce or another custody battle. There’s not a single bone in my body that is worried about not being with Pax for life. He’s it for me.

  For Hattie.

“Enough,” Terrance reprimands for an additional time.

Jesse tugs at the tie around his neck and clamps his mouth shut.

Belinda begins with an announcement about behavior, the security measures, and where our private negotiations, when the time comes, will be held. Afterwards, she motions her hand towards Charles. “Mr. Crews, your client had this mediation initiated. Please address with Mr. Davidson and his attorney the concerns.”

Charles adjusts his jacket before he proceeds. “Thank you, your Honour. Mr. Sax, Mr. Davidson has proven negligence by disregarding the direct medical orders provided by Miss Young’s pediatrician. This negligence resulted in a recent hospital visit-”

“She was just a little hungry,” Jesse mumbles under his breath.

“Mr. Davidson has also shown signs of potential abuse towards his daughter. We have reports and video evidence of his verbally berating her on multiple occasions.”

The urge to gasp is stopped by Pax’s hand clutching mine.

“We will have to view said statement and footage to determine whether or not it was abuse or simply a moment of acceptable discipline.”

“Agreed. However, the marks that Miss Young has come home with on her that had been of concern that were reported to you, Mr. Sax, and your client, Mr. Davidson, have now been confirmed as direct harm due to video evidence we received just this morning.”

  Oh my God…

  He…

  He was hurting her?!

  I’ll kill him!

My chest starts to rapidly rise, and Pax squeezes my hand tighter, the pain of the ring cutting into my flesh distracting from the need to reach across the table and strangle Jesse.

“What?” Terrance tries to steady his voice. “That’s-”

“Been reported to the proper authorities,” Charles informs the room and eyes Belinda, “and my client has no issue with this footage being seen by Mr. Davidson. That and the previously mentioned medical negligence, is the reason we are requesting, the continued full custody with no unwelcomed visitation whatsoever.”

“Unwelcomed?” Jesse huffs. “What the hell does that even mean?”

“You will not be reminded again,” Belinda warns.

  He balls his fists.

“It means they would decide when and if you had the opportunity to see Hattie at all.” Sax shakes his head. “No. These accusations, which haven’t been properly investigated-”

“I don’t want them properly investigated,” Jesse mumbles to his attorney.

  “Jesse-

“Sax, I don’t need cops showing up at my door, looking into my…life.”

The implication at just how shady he is further infuriates me.

“If Mr. Davidson is willing to agree to give up all visitation rights, Miss Young has agreed to wave her right to child support.”

Sax stares on skeptically. “That seems…generous.”

“She’s probably sucking Igor’s dick over there for millions.”

I clamp down on the tip of my tongue once to prevent from speaking.

“Mr. Davidson, you need to step out of the room.”

“Fine.” Jesse stands in an exaggerated huff. “I don’t fucking need this shit.”

The security guard escorts him out the door and remains with him.

Charles continues, “The only thing Miss Young wants and has truly ever wanted was to know her child was safe and well cared for. She would like full custody of their child and is willing to discuss reinstating visitation after Mr. Davidson’s abuse charges have been cleared, he’s completed anger management, and can express his full understanding of their daughter’s medical issue.”

  No…

  He’s full of shit.

I’m not willing to discuss anything.

I never want Jesse anywhere near her again.

  Ever.

  End of goddamn story.

Sax presses his lips briefly together and turns towards Belinda. “May I have a word with my client, Your Honour, to…gauge if he would like to continue to mediate or if he agrees to such terms?”

She nods and motions her hand towards the door.

Terrance slips out of the room leaving us in excoriatingly painful silence.

He has to take the deal. There’s no way he wants to keep up this fight. He’s never liked or cared for Hattie. This and the new abuse charges that I can hardly wrap my mind around us being able to prove are going to cause more than enough problems for him. Besides, I’m not sure he’ll live to see another day if he’s granted access to be anywhere near our daughter.

He isn’t gone nearly as long as predicted. When Terrance steps back into the room, he requests, “May Mr. Davidson be allowed back into the room?”

“If he can maintain his respect and composure.”

  “Yes, Your Honour.”

She waves her hand once more, and Terrance ushers him in.

Jesse stands at the opposite end of the table with the security guard next to his side.

“Mr. Davidson accepts the terms of the new agreement.”

Charles nods and casually questions, “Would Mr. Davidson be willing to give up all of his custody rights indefinitely?”

  “Meaning?” Jesse growls.

“You are lawfully no longer a parent or guardian of any kind to Miss Young.”

  “Done.”

  “Jesse!” Sax forcefully shouts.

He gives him a glare. “No more of this crap? No more making sure that little brat has food or clothes or whatever else? An out? An actual out where I get to live without giving a-” he stops to censor himself, “crap if it’s my day or weekend or someone’s birthday? Sounds perfect. Having this kid has been nothing but trouble for me and my family. Couldn’t convince her to get the abortion, but this seems equally as fair especially since I don’t ever wanna sleep with her again.”

“I happen to have the papers right here,” Charles announces and slides a stack of papers his direction. “All of them. Custody agreement, too.”

My heart thrums so loud I swear it’s in surround sound.

“Jesse, think about what you’re doing,” Terrance tries to advise him one final time. “This is your daughter-”

“About to be someone else’s problem.” He looks at Sax with a stone cold stare. “Pen?”

“I’m not giving you a goddamn pen.”

At that moment, Pax wordlessly offers him one.

Jesse snatches it out of his hand. “Just so you know, that bitch’s pussy is nothin’ special.”

Then why the hell did he chase me so hard in college?

Why the hell did he put me through so much misery?

Pax remains silent and still as we watch him sign his name on all the paperwork.

Afterwards, Jesse drops the pen and strolls out of the room, not bothering to give anyone else a second look.

Terrance growls and meets eyes with Charles. “This was unethical.”

“I don’t believe it was. Your client was made aware of the situation, the requests, and received what he wanted in the end just as mine did. Everything that happened here was well within the law and in front of a retired judge. Your client made his decisions. Perhaps next time you should make sure you are on the same page prior to mediation.”

His glower deepens. “This is not over, Mr. Crews.”

Charles smirks and points to the pieces of paper. “But it is. Or at least the custody issues. He may need your services for the domestic charges.”

Terrance’s face becomes flustered. He snatches his brief case, bids Belinda goodbye, and storms after his client.

  Once security assures us he’s
off the premises, Belinda thanks us for being respectful, and exits, with the guard assisting her to her vehicle.

Charles stands, shuts the door, and smiles warmly. “Congratulations. You are now a completely single mother.”

Pax smiles sweetly at me prompting me to ask, “Any chance, you have adoption papers drawn for Pax to become Hattie’s legal father?”

  His jaw cracks unexpectedly.

“You mean these?” Charles smugly states, presenting us with a small stack of documents. “I do, but until you are legally married, I would wait to sign them. However, these,” he pulls out another stack, “are permanent legal guardian papers you can have him sign in its place.”

Our eyes bulge, but Pax is first to conquer the shock. “How could you possibly know to do that?”

He gives him a sarcastic expression. “It’s my job to know a parent when I see one.”

Pax swivels his face back my direction. “Buttercup, we don’t have to do this right now. We can wait. We can come back to these papers and-”

“We’re doing it now,” I firmly command. “Legal guardian with me now and then her legal father the day we get married.”

Charles moves his body closer to us and proceeds to explain the documents. With every passing word, I’m filled with more and more elation.

This is exactly the life I wanted.

This is the man I’m alright sharing my past with.

  My present.

  My future.

This is the man whose load, life, and love I can’t wait to spend the rest of my existence sharing.

  Epilogue

  Pax

Ryann’s hand frantically strokes my cock back and forth. My head hits the tile wall on a loud moan as water cascades down my neck. Her slippery tits press firmly against me while her other hand rolls my balls around. I groan louder when she gives them a tug and pound my fist against the backsplash.

“Come for me,” she quietly demands. “Last time as just my fiancé…”

The truth to the words is enough to toss me over the edge.

One last deep grumble shakes my body and ropes of cum shoot towards the drain. Ryann litters my back with bites and sloppy kisses, the hot water burning each one into my skin like lust filled declarations.

Tomorrow we will be husband and wife.

Today we get together with my bros to rehearse it or some shit.

Why the hell you need to go through the motions of the whole damn thing is still a goddamn mystery to me.

I turn around and gather Ryann into my arms. Our open mouths collide, and our tongues ceaselessly roll in circles.

This woman is everything to me.

Falling for her hard and fast was better than anything I could’ve imagined.

  It was intense.

  Life altering.

  Soul challenging.

The only thing I would change if possible was not convincing her to get a better attorney faster. Having Hattie legally be mine is one of the most incredible feelings next to her mother being in love with me. Our family dynamic is something that gives new purpose to my life every day. Whether it’s a mundane day filled with work, having dinner, and doing homework or something hectic like a Mathlete tournament it’s something I consider myself blessed to have.

  A family to love.

  To honor.

  To protect.

All that shit is definitely in my vows.

The water turns cold and Ryann reaches behind me to shut it off. She beams up at me brightly and teases, “That better tide you over until tomorrow night.”

I chuckle and let a wet digit start to slide down the crack of her ass when a familiar voice shouts, “Mom! Grandma’s here!”

Our wet foreheads lightly touch on a deep sigh.

As much as I love Hattie Pattie to pieces, she is without a doubt the biggest cock block to ever exist. I asked Holden if he had this much trouble, and he simply expressed that you just have to get creative. Which we do. Early morning joint showers. Meeting at home for “lunch”. Calling both sets of grandparents in to do grandparent duty. Thankfully, they never say no and caring for a granddaughter has had a way of rekindling a spark in my parent’s marriage I never thought I’d see again. However, convincing Julez, who has finally moved home, to watch her for more than a couple hours is still impossible.

  “Mom!”

“I’ll be there in a minute!” Ryann looks up at me with a suspicious smile. “You sure you want more of those? It’ll be practically impossible to have sex.”

I give her ass a swift pop that makes her squeak. “We’ll find a way. Nothing’s impossible when we do it together.”

And it’s the absolute fucking truth.

From the moment she opened up and truly let me into their world there hasn’t been a single thing we couldn’t handle. Work and school conflicts. Parent teacher conferences. Practice for Mathletes and now practice for volleyball. Without the constraints of Jesse leeching the life out of her, Hattie has blossomed like crazy. Jesse has vanished completely from our lives. The charges filed kept him, his parents, and their lawyer busy. Needless to say bothering the three of us is a one way ticket to a hell he doesn’t seem interested in using. Hattie, like her mother, has discovered a new sense of confidence since his vacancy. Self-assurance. A new interest in sports and activities far away from the computer. We haven’t had a single health issue since the hospital scare in November. The doctor even commended us on her progress saying if she keeps it up there’s a good chance she could outgrow it like predicted. She’s super excited to have helped with so much of the wedding planning and is even more excited that she’s going to be a big sister.

  Someday.

  Not today.

We’ve discussed having more kids and agreed once we get moved out of this house, which is the first thing on the agenda after our honeymoon, that it can be a real topic of discussion. Business is still booming for me and Ryann got a raise at the beginning of the year after she cleared her name in the estate sale fiasco. I would love us both to cut back a bit on the hours when we decide to grow our family but that’s another conversation that can also wait.

  For now?

  Being a big brother…

  Being a bro…

  Being a husband…

  Being a father…

All of that is more than enough for me to consider myself the most blessed son of a bitch alive.

  Meet The Other Bros!

The Substitute (The Bro Series #1):

  Nate

Being a substitute teacher is good for me.

  It's sensible.

  Logical.

Abandoning my plans for a career in the film industry and a life full of fun, albeit slightly reckless, actions was the responsible thing to do.

  That's who I am now.

  That's who I've become.

Mr. Boring. Mr. Predictable. Mr. Anal Retentive.

At least that's what I thought until one irresistible student breathes life back into the version of me I've been desperately trying to suffocate.

  Being with Ainsley isn't a want. It's a need.

And I'm willing do anything to fulfill it.

  Ainsley

I've spent my entire life ashamed of who I am.

Who my mother is. What she does.

Being forced to attend a private school where people endlessly whisper about it is only bearable because I know exactly what's in my future.

I know exactly where I'm going.

I know exactly what to do to get there.

Or at least I thought I did.

One class with him and suddenly my entire world was missing one very important piece.

Being with Nate isn't just about sex.

It's about loving life in a way I never imagined.

The situation isn't ideal, but I'll do whatever it takes to be with him.

  HOLDEN

Life is nothing more than a series of 1s and 0s.

  Basic choices.

  Yes or no.

  Fight or flight.

  Protect or neglect.

  Pack or prey.

  Felon or free.

I've mastered the art of when to hit 1 and when to hit 0.

Or at least I had before Meena came back into my world.
