When I signed my name on the dotted line to join the Kurtherian Gambit Universe, I knew it was going to be a wild ride. I’d seen Michael’s success in the original series, and I heard of his voracious fans—but I wasn’t ready for the support and engagement I have received from the KGU family!
In all honesty, I thoroughly expected that the overwhelming response from the KGU readers would be troubling. I mean, hell, we’re shoving the storyline 300 years (or so) into the future, we’re introducing brand new characters with brand new stories, and we’re playing with the ideas that those pesky little nanocytes and the etheric power could actually change humans into magicians and fuel magical devices.
When we kicked around the idea, the three of us thought… this is badass.
And then I realized, “The fans are going to freaking eat us alive!”
Over the past week, a LOT of feedback has come to us through Amazon reviews, Facebook, and email. I’ve been over the moon by the fact that you readers are, for the most part, totally into this new age in the KGU—and hungry for more. Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving Hannah, Ezekiel and the rest of the Arcadian crew a shot.
Now… there’s also a bunch of folks who are skeptical about this future fantasy world, the seeming disconnection from weres and vamps, and a ton of unanswered questions of how we got here! If you were looking for instant answers, sorry for that. BUT there are answers to your questions. We promise we didn’t ruin the end of Bethany Anne or Valerie’s stories (no way Michael would have let us do that). And if you stick around and watch the Age of Magic develop, you’ll learn more and more about how it connects with each book and have some ass-kicking fun along the way.
There is one more group… For those of you who have no idea about this Kurtherian Gambit Universe… welcome! We tried to do what we could to have the books be able to stand on their own, and thankfully, we’ve heard that they can. If you loved our work, you should really check out the other KGU stories. The provide the awesome backdrop to everything we’re doing in the Age of Magic.

My twelve-year-old daughter Simone started a novel this weekend. She’s had her share of false starts. Since she’s 6,000 words in, I think this one just might take. She said she wants to write in the KGU someday… Be warned!

Wow, it is one week since I wrote the last Author Notes for Restriction, and now I am doing it again for Reawakening.
The acceptance of this new series has been pretty overwhelming from both a sales (but more importantly) an emotional standpoint. You see, I had no idea when working with Chris and Lee whether or not anything we did was going to resonate with the fans, you know?
When you listen to the guys talk about their experience after the first few days of the book being on sale (their podcast is here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/part-time-writers-podcast/id1092617862) you realize a couple of things…
One: They keep their expectations low, so they don’t stress out too much. This was good because I was stressing out enough for the three of us.
Two: They have been amazed at the fan(s) interactions. Everything from engaging on Facebook, to reviews, to contacting them and listening in on the podcast (link above). The guys (well, let’s be honest, mostly Chris (CM Raymond) as Lee is a total Twitter twerp and doesn’t join in on Facebook much at all) are so danged down to earth it’s like you are working with some buddies on the weekend.
I have been allowed this opportunity to grow the TKG universe through the support of the fans and all of us couldn’t do what we do without you.
Now, what’s happened in a week?
Well, let’s see. The following Authors now have opportunities to write in the Age of Magic: Justin Sloan (new series, not a Reclaiming Honor spinoff), Amy Hopkins, Candy Crum, Brandon Barr and the latest is PT Hylton.
It will be fascinating to see how this group plays together as we build this time and area in Irths history.
Please, if you get a chance, welcome these authors into the Kurtherian Gambit universe. For some of them, access to you, the TKG Fans, is going to change their lives in amazing ways!
