The teacher made us all stand up and introduce ourselves and tell an anecdote about ourselves. I couldn’t think of one. I couldn’t even listen to the others, because I was so nervous.

I stood when it was my turn. I said my name, and the murmuring started. I told them that I liked to sing, upon which the teacher mentioned that the school was going to have a choir again this year and if I wanted, I could join.

I politely thank her and told her I would.

  She looked pleased.

Rosalyn stood and said her name, and that she liked to paint. I smiled at her, my talented friend. She often laid her hand on my shoulder in class and moved her eyes here and there, so I wouldn’t miss anything that her watchful eye had caught.

Two other girls were punished for talking. We were more careful after that.

The teacher took the whole morning to play games with us, so we could get to know each other.

A couple of the girls, who Rosalyn had declared were bitches, approached me at lunch, but I told them that I already had plans to sit with Rose, as Rosalyn asked me to call her.

A couple of other girls also joined us. One made a joke that we had more IQ points than the rest of the tables put together.

Rose explained that most of us had something in common. We were pretending to be little girls for our daddies who will dearly loved, but it was just pretend.

I nodded, understanding exactly what she meant.

Love makes you do crazy things, she said.

I was able to have a normal conversation at lunch.

When Nanny came in to check on me, I was talking nicely with the other girls about the books we’d be reading this semester. Nanny left happy.

Rose’s Nanny came in, too, but they had a more adult relationship. She could tell her nanny to do things.

All the girls were impressed with Rose.

All the other girls hated their nannies. They resented them.

I didn’t say that I loved mine, but we had a totally different relationship. The others’ nannies didn’t seem to like their little girls either. They complained about getting beaten because their nannies like to hit.

That sounded just sick. Nanny never paddled me unless I’d done something wrong.

Daddy had chosen her for me.

Lessons started for real after lunch. I wasn’t the only one who was smart in this class. We had a regular competition going on. The dumb girls all looked like they hated us.

I liked that mine wasn’t the only hand up.

The teacher liked it even more. She hardly gave us any homework, because it was the first day of school, and because our daddies would want to hear about our day.

In the last hour, we were separated. I went to music class, and the other smart girls went to advanced art. I’d have art classes twice a week too, but not advanced. I had music three times a week.

The other girls were mean to me, so much for Daddy’s theory. They all stood a bit away from me. We sang a song, and then the teacher moved us around. I ended up in the back in the middle. I’d been careful to sing softly.

The teacher divided us into groups of five and had us singing oldies.

Our group had to perform Somewhere Over The Rainbow. Others sang songs from Annie and things like that.

We practiced in our groups, and I was careful not to belt out the tones.

When it was our turn to sing in front of the class, a couple of the girls got the giggles.

The teacher stopped playing the piano and threatened to punish us all if we couldn’t do it right. She started in again, and we all sang, as we should.

This time I wanted her to know that I was trying so I sang a little louder.

There was something in my voice, which came naturally to me. I rarely needed a microphone. I was loud without it being overly tiring.

I was careful not to sing too loudly.

I was relieved when school was over. I’d made it through the day without getting hit. I’d reached my personal goal, and I had a group of friends.

Daddy picked Nanny and I up from school. He wanted to hear everything. Nanny bragged that I’d found friends from the better homes like she’d hoped. Nanny used words like ‘play dates’.

Daddy looked unsure again, but Nanny convinced him that it was normal, and if I didn’t have any, the other girls would think that I was stuck up or unlikable.

  He agreed then.

  Nanny would make the arrangements.

Daddy was really looking forward to his Daddy’s evening at school. He could hardly wait to meet the other Daddies.

He longed to feel normal; I knew that.

Nanny, the school, and I gave him that feeling.

I told my stuffed animals about my day while Daddy changed to get ready to go to school. I had to stop and wonder how much pretending I was really doing. It seemed to get less and less every day.

I sat down and did my homework. When I was finished, Nanny checked it. She made me rewrite this and that, but on the whole she was satisfied.

Daddy kissed me goodbye as I sat in my window seat looking over my textbooks for this semester.

He left feeling happy. I could tell.

  Chapter 2 – Parent’s Night

Brian’s limousine pulled up to the school, and he got out. He looked up at the school where his little Amelia would be going every day. He hoped this was the right decision.

Brian had already met a few other daddies at his office, but still he was very nervous.

He didn’t want to risk doing anything that could cause him to lose his little girl.

Brian walked in with a man he knew from commercials, or something like that. He couldn’t quite place him, but he was relieved to see that he was around his age. He was dressed in a perfectly cut suit. Brian’s was also perfect, but his was even better.

They walked next to each other to the auditorium in silence. Brian remembered who he was. He was a famous designer.

This was unbelievable. The auditorium was full of men who were just like him.

Brian couldn’t hide his smile as he recognized several of the men in this room. Very important men in the public eye were among them.

Brian said hello to the few he did know. He was introduced to other men. He felt, for the first time in his life, that others were more interested in him personally and in his doctor skills than in his last name.

Brian felt so normal. He wasn’t at all odd, as he’d feared.

The men took their seats. One of the men motioned that Brian should sit with him and his friends.

Brian had a very good feeling about this place. He really fit in.

After a while, the headmistress walked up on the stage and welcomed them and went on about wanting this to be another successful school year. She talked about this and that.

Security was a topic that interested all of them: both security for their little girls, and secrecy about who had little girls attending the school. Everything was so well thought through.

After the headmistress was finished, the men got to go into their little girls’ classroom, and the teachers would talk with them.

Brian walked slowly looking at which class his Amelia was in. He found it and went in.

The desks had names on them. He was hoping that he’d get to see where she sat all day.

Brian slipped a little present in her desk. He noticed other daddies doing the same thing. He’d gotten Amelia a little tiny teddy bear.

Most of the other daddies were putting packages of candy under the desks.

Brian smiled to himself, thinking that he was completely normal.

The teacher introduced herself and told them that she was available for appointments to discuss eventual problems with the daddies. She informed the daddies that she had to punish today, and that she’d punish as she saw fit.

She went on to say that she expected her class to be prepared for lessons every day. If for family reasons the girls couldn’t prepare for the next day, then the little girl better ha
ve a note with her explaining, or her backside would pay for it.

She was proud to teach the most advanced class, and that she realized that even in her class the ranges of intelligence were very broad, and that all the little girls would be treated fairly.

Brian was glad that he didn’t have to go to school anymore. He also worried about his precious Amelia having to take a whipping because of her problems.

Several of the daddies had questions and raised their hands after the teacher had finished. Brian, too, raised his hand and asked the teacher about dyslexia.

She assured him that his little girl wouldn’t have a problem with her. She praised Amelia as being a very lovely and smart child. Amelia would not be punished for something that she couldn’t do anything about.

Brian was relieved. He wanted Amelia to like school and have a chance at having friendships here. He knew she sat in front of Rosalyn.

Brian talked with her daddy after the teacher had finished. He was more like a granddaddy, most of the men were.

Brian felt extremely lucky to have found his little girl while he was so young. Lots of the men had been divorced from their first wife after pretending to be normal for years, very unhappy years for both the husband and the wives.

The men talked for a couple hours out in the halls.

Brian made plans for them to visit a daddy and his little girl over at their house. He hoped Amelia would like that.

Brian thought about her finding her present tomorrow. He was so glad he decided to bring something with him.

She’d have been so sad if she’d been the only one not to get something. She never would have mentioned it, thinking he didn’t love her as much as the other daddies did.

That was how she was, good to a fault.

  ***

It was Saturday, and Daddy and I had been invited to another daddy’s house. I didn’t know his little girl; she was in another class and in advanced art and not choir with me.

Daddy was dressed in a fine yet relaxed suit. I was wearing the first Teddy bear dress that was finished. I was really excited about that, and Daddy praised me all morning before we left to their house for lunch and whatever would come after that. Nanny was coming along too. The family was also new to the school. That meant that she was worried.

We got into the limousine, and Nanny spoke with me about my manners while Daddy laughed. “Nanny, I assure you she’ll behave.” I hadn’t gotten a warning spanking this morning, but his look then went along the same lines.

“I’ll be good. I promise, Daddy. I won’t do anything to embarrass you or myself.” I was a little afraid that he’d take me over his knee right there and then, and still give me a warning spanking.

I was proud of the fact that the other had never been present when the other one had spanked me.

The embarrassment of that would be so shameful.

We pulled up to their mansion. It wasn’t as big as ours, but that didn’t matter as long as his little girl was nice to me.

I was a little worried. We had a lot of Cindy types at school. I figured that they liked to get spanked. Maybe if Nanny gave them one, they wouldn’t like them anymore.

We got out of the limousine. The other daddy greeted us. His little girl didn’t come out with him. I was worried that she wouldn’t be as excited as I was about making friends. Perhaps, hopeful was a better word than excited. I was hoping to make a new friend.

He shook Daddy’s hand, and we went into the house. He held the door open for Nanny and me. His little girl was waiting inside by her Nanny, who smiled approvingly at us.

I was unfortunately very shy again. I went to Daddy and held his hand and peeked around at the other little girl. Nanny looked a little mad, but I couldn’t help remembering what happened last time.

Daddy did a funny twist and placed his hand on my back and placed me in front of him when her Daddy introduced her.

Her name was Kelly. She smiled at me kindly. I smiled back as I leaned into my Daddy. He laid a hand on my shoulder as we went into their dining room.

I hoped he wasn’t getting mad. I looked back at him, but he just had eyes for Kelly’s daddy. They were talking about current events. I couldn’t keep up with that. I looked back at Kelly and smiled again.

Her Daddy held out a chair for me, but he was more interested in my Daddy than in me.

I thought that was really remarkable. All the daddies seemed to be only interested in their own little girl.

Kelly sat down next to me and grabbed my hand. She started whispering in my ear about her room and her toys. She confessed to hating dolls.

I told her about my stuffed animals. She perked up when she heard about them.

“Daddy, can we go to Germany, too, and buy stuffed animals?” she asked, hopefully.

“Kelly, daddy is talking. Don’t interrupt,” he scolded her.

She hung her head, “Yes, sir.” She shifted on her chair like she was thinking about a spanking.

“I’ll have them send you a catalog,” Daddy assured him.

After a bit, Kelly started talking to me again. We fit well together, she liked to talk, and I didn’t say all that much.

We ate a very grown up lunch. Kelly’s Nanny prodded her to sit up straight again and again. The nannies seemed to be getting along really well, too.

Kelly’s nanny bragged about her. I had a feeling that her nanny loved her, just like mine loved me. I smiled at mine every now and then.

After the food was finished and the dessert was gone, Kelly timidly asked her daddy if we could be excused. He gave a nod of permission, and Kelly pulled me up to her room. It was huge and filled with toys.

“You two stay in the nursery. Amelia’s nanny and I are going to drink tea in my room.” Her Nanny also had an adjoining room. They left the door open. She showed me her favorite toys and asked me what mine were. I told her I liked stuff animals and blocks.

“I’ve got blocks. What do you want to build?”

“Let’s make a castle,” I suggested with a shrug. I was more the play along type, and not the decide what to play type.

  “Okay,” she agreed.

We went to work, and our Nannies came in now and then to praised us. We built it up pretty high and used a rag doll as the princess and a stuffed animal dog as the dragon that was keeping her hidden from the whole world.

Kelly and I sat down behind the castle walls, and she confided that she sometimes felt like a princess that had been locked away.

  I nodded, understanding her.

She asked me if my Daddy and Nanny also spanked me.

  I nodded again.

She thought about that for a while. “Do you think we can be friends?”

“I thought we already were.” I gave her hug, and she hugged me back.

We decided to make the castle even higher. We pretended that an elf came by and picked up the princess. Together they flew away.

Neither of us knew what to do with the princess once she was set free. We started the game from the beginning, placing the princess behind the high walls again.

Our daddies came looking for us, and they were so pleased that we were playing so nicely. They took pictures of us in front of our castle.

We laid our arms around each other and smiled nicely for the camera.

Daddy was smiling at me. I’d made him happy, and I’d had fun doing it. This whole life was probably for the best.

Chapter 3 – Play Date Gone Bad

Brian didn’t have time for tennis today, but he feared that if he said ‘no’ the others wouldn’t ask him again. He was moments away from closing another big deal.

This time he was selling property. The buyers wanted it so badly that he had to make sure that he wasn’t selling it under value. He had geologists making sure that no treasures were hidden under the earth’s surface. He couldn’t let anyone pull a fast one on him.

Brian decided that he’d work this evening, looking for loopholes and any other mistake that needed to be fo
und now.

Still, this opportunity was just too great to pass up. Jake Tanner had, personally, called Brian’s office and asked if he wanted to join them.

He and two others were looking for a fourth. The two others were Ronald Kabul, the famous designer, and Oliver Keaton from the richest family in America. His family owned more platinum and diamond mines than anyone else. They had a monopoly, but they were rich enough to make sure it stayed that way.

These men weren’t just anyone. When they walked in, people sat up and paid attention. They were all like him. They had the burden of living with their famous names.

Maybe not Tanner, but he was probably the most powerful of all of them. Brian wasn’t sure, but it was said that he was a spy, an American James Bond. He was getting a bit older, but chances were that he’d win this afternoon.

Brian showed up at the indoor court and looked around. He saw the security cameras and the armed guards. This wasn’t a regular gym.

At the gate, he checked in. They’d been expecting him.

Brian thought that he’d seen everything, coming from his own privileged background, but this was even better. This was national security. In the changing room, he caught up with the others. They greeted him like they were old friends.

Jake told him that they’d be partners.

The other two men were talking about their wives. “Emily wants a baby, but after what happened the last time, I was hoping that she’d give up. We clearly aren’t ready to be parents. She went back to school on Monday.”

“If Emily wants a baby, you have to see to it that she gets one.” Ronald was nodding at him.

“What do you know? You make suits and dresses not babies.” Oliver was getting ticked with his best friend.

“That’s because Samantha hasn’t asked for a baby yet. When my little girl asks for something, I see to it that she gets it.”

Oliver rolled his eyes. “Spare me.”
