“There goes making love slowly,” Flame said, and replaced his fingers with his cock, and slid right into her asshole. Both men thrust in and out of her body. She rocked her hips and took them both as she moaned and grunted her release. “Faster, deeper. You’re mine. All mine!” she said.

“Fuck.” Flame roared and slapped her ass cheek.

“Marianna!” Slova exclaimed and came inside of her. Flame thrust again and again and pounded into her ass, and she felt her whole body tighten and she came again just as he came. He roared and she cried out, “Oh!” and then fell against Slova’s chest. They caressed her and kissed her skin, and then Yani and Cast were there to clean her up, then held her in their arms. They gathered on the bed and she closed her eyes and drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

It felt like minutes had passed when cell phones rang and the bed dipped. She sensed Flame getting up, and then felt Slova wrap her up into his arms and nuzzle against her neck. She blinked her eyes open, then closed them. It was late. Dark out, but she could hear the muffled voice as Flame talked to someone on the phone. A few minutes later the bed dipped again, and Flame’s mouth was on her shoulder. His hand slid to her breast and he started kissing her, turning her toward him. Slova sat up and looked at Flame.

  “Flame?”

“We make love again, then shower and pack,” he said.

He slid over her and between her legs and kissed her tenderly on the mouth. His words barely processing but it sounded like he, like they would be leaving. Oh God, that was the call. She pulled from his mouth. “Flame?” she asked as tears fell.

“No. Don’t,” he commanded, and she sniffled as he slid fingers to her pussy, felt how wet she was, and then maneuvered between her legs, sitting up. He thrust right into her, held his cock deep in her cunt and cupped her cheeks.

“Be strong, Marianna. We will return to love you, but if something goes wrong, remember you’re a part of us now and we’re a part of you,” he said, and kissed her again, then began to make love to her slowly, deeply, as he pressed her arms above her head, held her gaze in the dark room, with only the silhouette of the moon as light to see. They made love to her one after the next, and her heart ached with worry and fear. She prayed that they were safe and would return to her in one piece. Life was never going to be the same if they didn’t.

  Chapter Eleven

“It’s not easy when they leave,” Talia said to Marianna when she stopped by to see Talia. Talia could see the sadness in her friend’s eyes. It had been nearly three weeks since Flame, Yani, Slova, and Cast had gone.

“It’s the not knowing that stinks. Not knowing if they’re okay, or when they will return.”

“Keeping busy is key I hear,” Talia said to her.

“Oh I am, I’m working at Dom’s tonight. I figured I would stop by after work today to see you because the weekend is going to be crazy. Tiana is doing an open house now that we got rid of a lot of crap my mom and aunt were holding on to. Samson told me to get rid of his crap, that he has new stuff, so that’s easy, and we close on the townhouse Monday. My mom and aunt can move out.”

“How are you handling that? I thought you needed the money from the house to buy the townhouse?” Talia asked.

“My job pays well, and I had money saved, so once we sell the house, hopefully soon, I will take what I owe first and the rest will be for my aunt and mom to live on.”

“You definitely planned this out well. But what about Samson, no possibility he would live with your mom and aunt?”

“I wouldn’t say it isn’t possible. I mean, he is going to turn seventeen in a few weeks. Whatever he’s doing, it isn’t going to go on forever. I worry so much about him. All I can do is let him know that I’m here.”

“Exactly. How are your mom and aunt with knowing about the ménage relationship you’re in?”

Marianna exhaled and then leaned back into the couch cushion. “Well, let’s see. I’m a slut who will wind up an old maid with no one to take care of me, basically.”

“Are you serious? How could they call you names after everything you’ve done for them?”

“Because it was never appreciated. Never. I give and give and give, but get nothing in return. I’m always sacrificing. It’s my heart that gets broken, my hard work that is walked all over. I mean, it was like that until this job. This job has changed my life. It’s professional, I’m respected and making progress with the other employees trusting me and welcoming me in. I’m working nine to five. I’m even singing at Dom’s tonight.”

“Why? I thought you didn’t need the money.”

“Well, number one, it helps to pass the night hours, those are the roughest,” she said, and gave a sad smile.

“Awe, honey. I’m sure nighttime is.”

“Plus, Dom asked me to. He was so kind over the years, giving me gigs, and introducing me to other opportunities. I wouldn’t have met Truman or some of the other businessmen if Dom didn’t give me a chance. It’s a good thing to be able to live my life, and well, transition into a relationship with four men slowly, you know.”

  “Slowly?” Talia asked and winked.

“Well, going by your relationship and others who we are friends with who engage in ménage relationships, my thing with Flame, Slova, Yani, and Cast is slow moving. They didn’t even claim guardianship or anything,” she said, and felt the tears fill her eyes.

“Oh, Marianna, they will when they return.”

“Why didn’t they before they went? There’s nothing binding me to them and them to me.”

  “What do you mean?”

“Guardianship. They didn’t make anything official. I get asked out and hit on all time, and when I’m asked if I’m taken, I don’t know how to respond. Around Repose when I’m asked and say my boyfriends are away on tour, the men ask if they’re my guardians and I have to say no. So they flirt and annoy me. Meg’s brother had to step in the other night and nearly got into a fight.”

“What?” Tat asked, coming into the living room.

Talia gave him a sad expression, and then Marianna wiped her eyes. “It’s fine. I can handle it,” she said.

“If men are being pushy in town, you need to tell Cesar or Spartan.”

“I don’t live in Repose, remember?” she said, and then exhaled.

“Anyway, I should get going. I need to shower and change for tonight.”

“What’s tonight?” Tat asked, now looking concerned.

“Singing at Dom’s,” she said to him, and then gave Talia a kiss good-bye and a hug.

“Call me. You can come here any time you want to,” Talia said.

Marianna gave her a wink. “I wouldn’t invade the little love nest.”

She kissed Tat’s cheek good-bye, and Tat placed his hand on her shoulder. “You call me if there’s anything you need. Don’t hesitate.”

“I’m fine, and used to handling things alone, so don’t worry about me.”

“We found the van,” Luccon said to Mexa over the phone.

Mexa walked away from the bar and where Press stood listening to Marianna sing and play the piano.

“Go on, what did you find out?”

“Not a good situation. Seems those little wannabe’s hanging out at Janson’s house, were the ones who broke into the warehouse, and on more than one occasion. They’re sporting some new sneakers and the one kid, Ellis, he’s friends with Maddy.”

“You found Maddy, the guard? Where?” Mexa asked.

“Laying low in some young slut’s mobile home. He’s all banged up but smiling.”

“Grab whomever is involved. All of them, and bring them to the place. I’ll talk with Press and see what he wants to do.”

“Wait, Marianna’s brother, Samson, he’s part of this.”

“What?” Mexa asked, and then glanced at Press, who immediately saw his facial expression. Mexa looked away. “Fuck.”

“I know. What should I do?”

  “Hold tight. Let me
talk to Press. Grab them all for now.”

Mexa rubbed his jaw, and as he turned he saw Press pulling out a stool for Marianna, but she shook her head. Press looked insulted. He walked closer and overheard the conversation as he took position behind Marianna, his back slightly turned.

“I love hearing you sing. Coming here, watching you, eases my mind,” he said to her.

“Press, I’m kind of seeing someone,” she whispered to him.

Mexa flinched and turned to make sure that Press didn’t do anything crazy. He had been obsessing over this woman. Talking about her, getting information on her family, on her bills and things.

“Who’s the lucky man?” he asked, and took a sip from his brandy.

“They’re soldiers and it’s new,” she said, and it shocked Mexa.

Marianna seemed sweet, and innocent. Could she be fucking several men and in one of those ménage relationships that many people were engaged in? Fuck, this was going to turn into a fucking nightmare.

Press reached out and stroked her jaw, tilting it up toward him. “Then why do you look so sad? If you’re dating several men, and they’re treating you like you deserved to be treated, you sure as shit shouldn’t look so sad.”

She exhaled and then looked at Mexa, then back at Press. “I said it was new. It’s rocky, and they’re soldiers, so they left for a mission soon after we started to hang out.”

So it was new and maybe she hadn’t been intimate with them. Press would think that way and would believe he had a chance.

Press took her hand and brought it to his lips. “You deserve to be treated like a princess. Not left all alone just waiting on their beck and call. You’re a professional woman, a talented musician, don’t sell yourself short, Marianna,” he said, and then held her hand on his lap.

“I’m not. I’ve been busy with work and singing here. Plus, I’m helping my mom sell her house in Cambridge, so her and my aunt can move into a townhouse.”

“The sale of the house is contingent on the purchase of the townhouse?” he asked.

“Not really. Getting the job with Truman’s company and working here has benefitted, but as soon as the house sells, I can get back what I’ve had to give of my personal funds.”

“Why not live together with them to save money?” he asked.

“It isn’t necessary. I’ve been paying the mortgage and the bills since I was sixteen, Press. There hasn’t been a time when I wasn’t working at least two jobs, even when I went to college and got my MBA. I came up with the plan to start pulling back because I keep giving and everyone keeps taking.”

“It commendable that you’ve worked so hard and have always put your family first and are their providers.”

She pulled her hand away from him.

Mexa was really impressed with Marianna. She was truly a good-hearted person, but it seemed maybe she was getting taken advantage of, and perhaps by the men she recently started seeing. There was no doubt that Press would make a move soon.

“I’m babbling here. I don’t mean to tell you my life problems, well not so much problems now. I’m selling the house so that I won’t have to pay the last fifty thousand on it. The market is good, we should get asking price or close, and then when it sells I will get my money back that I recently put out to buy the townhouse for my mom and aunt. I’ve always budgeted things out. I only moved out of the house and got a one bedroom so I could breathe.”

“Where is that?” he asked her.

“Right in Ausberry, above the hardware store,” she told him, and then looked back toward the piano and then at her watch. She took a sip of water.

“That’s no place for such a beautiful, talented young woman to live.”

“It’s fine and it’s only me, so I’m good for a while.”

“Perhaps after you close on the house and townhouse, and are completely clear of financially taking care of your aunt and mom, you can get a better place to live.”

  “One step at a time.”

“And your brother, where does he fit in all of this?” he asked.

She exhaled. “Sampson? God, I don’t know, Press. I haven’t seen him since that night I met you, and you got him to come home. He’s hanging out with those friends of his he thinks are more faithful and family than his blood family. I can’t worry about that so much. I’m here if he needs me, but I don’t see him living with them any time soon. I’d better get back to work,” she said and stood up. “Enjoy the evening.”

He stopped her and stood up. “I’m meeting Truman for a short meeting in the evening tomorrow. Have dinner with me.”

  “I can’t. It wouldn’t be right.”

“Because of these men you only recently started seeing, yet left you for some sort of mission? What kind of life is that for a woman as beautiful, and loving as you? To wait, to be lonely time after time, while they’re off not even caring about your safety, your security or providing the affection and attention you so obviously deserve? Think about it, Marianna. I’m older, I know, but I’ve seen women like you. Young, giving, full of heart and soul, and you get caught up in a duty, a promise of faithfulness that’s one-sided, and eventually could end. You aren’t married to them. They didn’t stake an official claim or anything like that, correct?” he asked, and she shook her head. “Then be smart. I’d hate for you to get hurt. Truly.”

“I need to go.” She walked away and Mexa watched her go to the piano. She was stunning.

“I waited when I should have struck. I was too caught up in the fantasy and what was to come. Then this fucking mess with the money and paintings missing, causing me to lose a hundred grand because I couldn’t deliver. Fuck,” he said.

“It gets worse, I’m afraid,” Mexa said, and Press looked at him.

  “The phone call. Tell me.”

Marianna went to work the next day and was looking forward to the weekend and spending some time with her friends. As she finished up for the day, and headed out to her car, she got a funny feeling like someone was watching her. She didn’t know why, and she looked around the parking lot, but there were a lot of cars there. She got into her car quickly and locked the doors immediately. As she pulled out onto the road, she headed toward home. When no other cars appeared behind her, she figured she had imagined things and then turned up the radio and exhaled. She felt good, accomplished, as she worked alongside Allie and cleaned up some small accounting errors that were missed by someone in the finance department. Allie had been angry, but Marianna calmed her down and offered to take a look. Three hours later, she found the discrepancies, minor, but costly, in about fifty thousand plus dollars combined. She could use a nice nap when she got home before she showered and changed. She would need to stay awake now that she consistently was being the designated driver for her friends when they went out.

It was getting dark out when she got upstairs to her apartment and entered. She turned on the lights after closing the door when suddenly there was banging on it. She gasped, turned around, and then recognized the voice. Samson?

She opened the door and he pushed his way inside, and slammed the door closed and locked it.

He looked terrible, dirty, and scared.

“Samson, what the hell is going on? What are you doing here?” she asked him.

He ran to the window and closed the curtain and then paced in her living room. “I’m in trouble, Marianna. Big trouble.”

“What kind of trouble? Who is looking for you, the police?”

“Worse than that. It’s a fucking mess. They’re going to kill me. Ellis is dead. Kite and Rodge are missing.”

“Dead?” Who is Ellis, I don’t understand, explain it damn it. What the hell did you do?”

“I helped out with a job weeks ago. Something small and then Rodge and the guys knew about this warehouse and these boxes and something that was worth money. We were stealing them for someone and got a grand a piece.”

“Jesus, Samson! Stealing? Breaking into a warehouse. You’
re going to go to jail when the owner finds you.”

“You don’t fucking get it. I didn’t know anything about who the stuff belonged to. If I did, I never would have done the job. Never. I don’t think Rodge and the guys knew either.”

“Who hired you to steal it?”

“I don’t know, and I haven’t seen Kite or Rodge, and never got the name. He just kept saying that his cousin, Janson, was going to kill him when he found out who was ripped off. Something about Vic Chasette and a guy named Pelham. I don’t fucking know, but now Press’s guys have been looking for us. Mexa grabbed Kite, now he disappeared.

“What does Press have to do with this?” she asked, feeling so confused.

“Press is a businessman, he’s a big shot for a lot of these people who run importing and exporting businesses. He’s a heavy, too, like him and his men kill people.”

“What?” She felt so sick and scared. She placed her hand over her chest and shook her head. “Why are you here?”

“I didn’t know where to go,” her brother said, and then looked around the place, and then at her.

She had a terrible feeling in her gut. Her relationship with her brother was not like it used to be. She really didn’t even trust him. “Why would you come to me, when I was the one trying to make you straighten your shit out and be a regular sixteen-year-old?”

“I don’t know where to go. Press…likes you.”

It hit her. Her brother thought she was sleeping with Press. Thought he would have a way out. But before she could give him an earful and smack him, her door burst open. She screamed as Mexa and several men came into the apartment, guns drawn and immediately two men grabbed Samson.
