“Help me get out of here!”
StrykER looked at him as he paused at the door. “I’ll think about it.”
*****
Rose laughed as she took a bite of a sandwich. “That can’t be true.” She looked at Lindsey doubtfully.
Lindsey raised her left hand in the air. “I swear it’s true. There are so few females on their home world that their sexual encounters are be limited. So when one shares sex with an Earth female who performs oral sex, they go a little bit crazy for it.”
Rose blushed; she’d been the receiver of the oral stuff so far. She hadn’t had a chance to return the favor. If what Lindsey was saying was true, it was possible JadEN might not have experienced that. But then again, he had shared a sexual relationship with Kat. They probably did all that and more. Then there were the other females that JadEN had shared sex with after Kat rejected him. What if she didn’t please him like the others did? Suddenly she didn’t feel hungry anymore.
“Are you feeling alright?” Lindsey asked her with concern.
“Yeah, I guess I’m a little tired.”
Lindsey smiled. “Me too. Are you sure you’re not pregnant? These guys are quick with their sperm. Maybe it’s the water.”
All color drained from her face. Oh shit! She and JadEN hadn’t bothered to take precautions to prevent pregnancy. She used to take the pill, but since leaving Earth she hadn’t really been with anyone so when she ran out of her supply she didn’t think anything of it. She must have looked like she was having a panic attack, because Lindsey moved to sit next to her and took her hands into hers.
“Tell me what’s wrong. Are you feeling sick? Are you in pain?”
She shook her head but the only word she could form was, “JadEN…”
Lindsey flagged one of her guards over to her. “Do you know where Medic JadEN is?”
The guard made a call on his comm link and then a few seconds later her answered her question. “Prima, Medic JadEN is in the east training facility. Shall I call for him?”
“No, we’ll walk there from here. It’s not far.” Lindsey stood up and helped Rose to stand. “Maybe the walk will help clear your head. You seem a bit in a daze, honey.” Lindsey kept hold of her hand as she led her out of the garden and back inside the prime building.
Rose had started coming back to reality by the time they entered a big room that had about thirty warriors, all practicing their fighting stances or lifting weights. “Where are we?”
Lindsey smiled at her. “So glad you came around. You went into sort of a shocked state. I thought I would bring you to see JadEN.”
“But this isn’t the medic wing.” She was confused. Why would JadEN be here with all the warriors? Was there someone injured here?
“Look, there he is.” Lindsey pointed to where JadEN was surrounded by three warriors.
The large men were about half an inch taller and with a little more bulk, but JadEN was looking every bit as tough. He had his shirt off and sweat was trailing down his well-defined muscles. Rose licked her lips. Holy shit he looks hot.
*****
The men took turns going after JadEN. He barely had time to toss one aside before another came at him. He took a few kicks in his stomach and a punch to the side of his face.
“JadEN!” Rose called out as she tried to make her way over to JadEN, but Lindsey’s security guard reached out to hold her back.
“Easy, Dr. Garrett, you’ll distract him and cause him to get injured even more.”
JadEN blocked a kick and gave his own kick to the male’s knees, making him fall to the floor before he looked up and caught sight of Rose. He said something to the males he was fighting, then stormed her way. His angry glare went to the male who had his hands on Rose’s arms. No males touched his mate.
“Get your hands off my mate!” JadEN growled at the security guard. The other male immediately released Rose and backed away.
Rose glared up at JadEN, pointing her finger at him. “Don’t yell at him, he didn’t do anything wrong!”
JadEN grabbed Rose’s hand and looked at Prima Lindsey. “Excuse us for just a moment, Prima.” He pulled Rose with him out into the corridors and further down into a small alcove, out of sight.
“I can’t believe you just manhandled me in front of Prima Lindsey and everyone!”
He pressed her back up against the wall and leaned his body against hers, trapping her. “Why did that male have his hands on you?”
“He was trying to keep me from distracting you while you were fighting. He said it could cause you to get injured. Why they hell are you fighting anyway? You’re a medic not a warrior!”
“All males are trained as warriors. I served for a time in our military. Does that bother you, seeing me as a warrior being aggressive and violent?”
He loved the feel of her palms on his bare skin. She smoothed his skin and licked her lips. His eyes watched her every move.
“No. I think it made you look...sexy.”
JadEN’s eyes widened then narrowed with need as he took her mouth in a hard, claiming kiss. He rubbed his arousal against her skirt and wished they were alone together instead of in the corridor. “I need to get you to our suite.”
She nodded her head, then paused. “Our suite?”
He nibbled her chin. “I moved my stuff into your suite while you were gone. You’re my mate and I want to be with you all the time.”
“You’re supposed to include me in the important decisions, JadEN. We’ve covered this. You moving in with me is a big decision.”
He ended her reprimand by distracting her as he bent his head so that he could nibble her lips. “We’re in a relationship. We should be together. Do you want me to move out?”
“No, but you should have asked first.”
“You weren’t there, and I wanted to be moved in right away. I don’t want to miss one moment with you.”
“We’ll talk about this later. Prima Lindsey is waiting for me.”
He kissed her once more. “I’ll take a shower and meet you back at our suite. Then we’ll go out for the evening meal.”
“JadEN.”
“Yes?”
“You will have another price to pay for making a decision without me.”
He gave her a sexy smile. “I will be happy to pay any price you set, beautiful.”
She followed JadEN as he escorted her back inside the training facility to where Lindsey and her guard was waiting.
“See you later.” JadEN kissed her again then glared at the guard again before walking away.
“Well that was intense, and hot,” Lindsey commented.
“Tell me about it.” Rose agreed.

StrykER walked into the holding facility, followed by Commander TylOR. “I don’t think these prisoners are being treated fairly,” StrykER said, making sure his voice was loud enough for everyone in the room to hear.
Commander TylOR growled. “They violated the Prime Laws by attempting to take my mate; they should face the strictest penalty, which is death.”
StrykER shook his head. “Your female isn’t a true Katieran or a Kiljorn, so those laws don’t technically apply to her.”
“They tried to take my mate off the transport, and who knows what they would have done to her!” TylOR countered.
“Well, your mate is known to exaggerate the details of a situation to suit herself. These Earth females seem to have brought nothing but trouble. The Morins didn’t even make an appearance until after the Earth females were brought here. The rebels might have a point about not mixing with other species. Has your mate even been able to breed yet? She might be incapable.”
TylOR swung out at StrykER hard, knocking him back a few feet. StrykER came back, tackling him around the waist. Security had to call extra help to split them up. Prime Leader KadEN was called, and he showed up telling the security to take TylOR away to cool off. He looked at StrykER.
“Do you medical assistance?”
“No.

“Do you want to tell me what happened?”
“No.”
KadEN glared at him. “You will do your job, StrykER, or you will leave Kiljor for good.”
“I might leave anyway.”
“Get your act together for tomorrow’s meeting with the High Council.”
“Whatever.” StrykER shrugged and watched as the leader and security left him alone in the holding room with HarvEY.
“Looks like your position with the Kiljorn military may be coming to an end,” HarvEY commented.
“They have used me for the last time. I won’t stand for this insult.” StrykER said as he rubbed his hurt jaw. Commander TylOR hadn’t held back.
“Maybe I can help you out, if you help me.” HarvEY leaned against the wall of his cell.
“What do you have in mind?”
Chapter 14
Rose was nervous after the guard dropped her off at her suite. Lindsey had insisted that she be escorted back after she’d left JadEN in the training facility. She was still pale and shaking a bit, and the prima worried for her. What was she going to say to him? She would have let him do anything to her in the corridor if he hadn’t stopped them. She’d never lost so much of her common sense over a man before. But when it came to JadEN, she couldn’t seem to calm down.
She went out on the balcony and watched the beautiful sunset. Kiljor was so lovely. The view reminded her of a city skyline on Earth. She still found it amazing, all the incredible sights she had seen. She’d traveled to different planets and met so many different types of people. It was surreal at times.
She stiffened up when she heard the door to the suite open and close. They had so much to talk about, but she didn’t know where to start. She waited for him. She could hear him walking through the suite, searching for her, and knew the exact moment he spotted her through the open balcony doors. A shiver ran down her back. This was it.
“You are the most beautiful female I have ever seen.” JadEN said from the doorway. He was leaning against the side of the balcony doors.
She shivered in excitement at the way he watched her. When she turned to face him her gaze locked with his. She could drown happily in those dark eyes of his.
“You mean even though I don’t have short blonde hair and brown eyes?” Damn, she didn’t mean to ask him that. Now she just sounded bitchy and jealous.
JadEN moved towards her slowly, as if approaching a wild animal about to attack. “Why would you say that?”
She shook her head. “Forget it. I’m lashing out because I feel like I have no control over my life.”
“And you feel that I have taken your control? Is that why you are lashing out at me?”
She snorted. “I really do think you have a degree in psychology.”
He reached out a hand to gently caress her cheek. “Do you feel I’ve taken control of your life from you?”
She sighed. “A little. You mated me without asking. You’ve become very territorial and possessive. You moved in with me without asking. And…”
“And what?”
“I could be pregnant.” She told him. It must have taken him off guard because he suddenly stopped caressing her. She could see a myriad of expressions cross his handsome face. She saw hope, joy, fear and worry.
“If you are breeding, would that be a bad thing?” he asked, holding his breath for her answer.
“No...but I wasn’t planning on having children right away. I think having a child with you would be wonderful, eventually. We just began our relationship, though; we should have time to get to know one another.”
He sighed with a release of some of his tension. “When it comes to you, I do lose all control. I understand wanting to get to know each other before starting a family. I would be more than thrilled to have you breeding with my young. But if it makes you feel any better, I would know if you were ready to breed. I have not scented that change in you yet.”
She, too, sighed with relief. “It’s not that I wouldn’t want to have a baby with you, I just want a little more time with you before we add another person into our relationship.”
He stepped closer to her. She felt the heat radiating from his body. She couldn’t look away from his eyes that were staring straight to her soul.
“I have to admit, I want to have you all to myself for a little while, as well. He leaned down and kissed her, softly at first. She leaned in so that he wrapped his arms around her and then…they both groaned as they were rudely interrupted by his comm link going off.
“Kitana!” He groaned. He pulled back a little and looked down at her as he answered the comm link.
“This is Medic JadEN.”
“Sir, we have a communications link with Prima Medic Kat ready for you.”
“Thanks, Lieutenant. Patch it through to my digital tablet.” He looked down at Rose regretfully. “I have to get this.”
“Sure, wouldn’t want you to keep Kat waiting.” She waved him away.
“Don’t turn away from me, Rose.” He bent down and picked her up, carrying her inside the suite. He sat down on the couch with her in his lap and reached for his digital tablet. He answered the communications line. Kat’s face appeared on the screen.
“Hi JadEN. How’s Kiljor treating you?”
“Pretty good. I have some information for your mate and some questions for you.”
“Hold on, let me get Syd. He’s putting the baby down for the night.” He watched as she waved her mate over to her. They squeezed in close together and both their faces showed on the tablet screen.
SydEL did not look happy to see JadEN, but he greeted him. “Medic JadEN, what information did you have?”
Rose watched as JadEN relayed his findings to the Prime Medic. The two men clearly had a lot in common besides having been involved with the same woman. She tried several times to move up off his lap but he kept a firm hold on her.
JadEN asked Kat his questions. “What kind of medication and procedures did you take on Earth when a breeding female had elevated blood pressure and swelling in the feet and legs?”
“You checked her labs, did she show protein in her urine?”
“Yes.”
“Well it sounds like it might be preeclampsia. This isn’t my area of expertise. I can check with the experts we have here, but from what I do know, she needs bed rest and to drink lots of water. If her blood pressure still won’t go down, you’ll have to give her something. I’ll work with Syd to come up with a synthetic med and send you the details for it.”
“Thanks Kat.”
“Thank you for requesting to go so that Syd could stay here with me and Kit.”
“It was the logical decision to make. He didn’t want to leave you and his son alone, and he couldn’t bring the two of you with him.”
“So have you met anyone special?” Kat asked, half-joking.
JadEN smiled ear to ear. “I have. She’s right here.” He tried to pull her into view. Rose knew she was blushing, and tried to move out of his arms, but she ended up smashed up against his side in full view of the prima on the digital tablet.
“Hello Prima Medic Kat.” Rose spoke softly.
Kat smiled and half giggled. “Dr. Garrett! What a wonderful surprise.”
JadEN nuzzled her neck. She pushed him off. “JadEN.” The suite bell went off. “I need to go answer that.”
*****
JadEN kissed her quickly before letting her go. He watched her until he couldn’t see her anymore. Then he turned back to his digital tablet to see Kat watching him intently. He cleared his throat.
“Are you happy?” Kat asked him.
“I’m very happy.”
“Have you mated her already?”
He nodded his head.
“That was pretty fast. Are you sure about this?” Kat looked a little worried.
“She’s my true bond mate, Kat. I love her.”
She stared at him then her expression softened. “I’m happy for you, then. When will you both be
coming back to Katiera?”
“I don’t know when. I have to talk to Rose first. I will live wherever she wants to live. It could be the Colonial planet or even here on Kiljor.”
“JadEN, no! Your home is here on Katiera.” Kat was not happy.
“My home is anywhere Rose is.”
JadEN heard Rose’s breath catch, but when he turned to look for her she wasn’t there. She must have overheard him tell Kat how he felt about her. He should have told Rose how he felt first, not his friend. He seemed to get it wrong every time.
“Kat, thanks for helping. Send the schematics for that medication as soon as possible. I need to go.”
Kat nodded her head. “I...okay. I’m glad that you found your bond mate.”
“Thank you. Bye, Kat.”
“Bye, JadEN.”
JadEN disconnected the communications. He stood up and headed towards the bedroom. He figured he would distract her with his hands and mouth in case she was having issues with what she heard. “Who was at the door?” He froze just inside the doorway.
Rose knelt on the center of the bed with no clothing on at all. She had the lights dimmed and the glow against her skin had his breath catch. “You are so beautiful.”
“You make me feel beautiful.”
He walked towards her. He could not have gone anywhere else even if he wanted to. It felt like she had him on a line and was reeling him in.
“Did you mean it?” She asked when he came close enough to kneel on the bed. She slowly undid his hooks to his shirt and pants.
“Mean what?” His mind was going to mush. All he could think about was how Rose was naked and he wanted to lick every inch of her.
“You told Kat that you love me and that anywhere I was your home. Did you mean it?”
He cupped her cheek. “Yes. You are my bond mate, my true bond mate. I’m completely in love with you even if you weren’t my bond mate. But I’m completely and hopelessly in love with you. Where ever you want to live will be home to me.”
*****
She was his bond mate and he was in love with her. Her heart and soul leaped for joy. She jumped into his arms. “I love you so much JadEN!” She kissed his chin, his cheeks and finally his lips.
