I roll my eyes knowing she means Chris. “It wasn’t right with him either,” I say, letting my jealousy fly.

“I know,” she says simply. “I figured out why I’m so afraid of things with you.” She takes a deep breath before finishing that thought, “Even though you drive me crazy and we would probably fight all of the time, we would be really happy together. Staying up fucking and arguing, and then turning around and laughing about it as well as other stupid shit that no one else would find funny, but us.”

“Yeah. That sounds awful,” I say sarcastically, not sure where she is going with this.

“Don’t you get it? I’ve been fighting being normal and ordinary since I graduated from high school. If we fall in love, we’ll get married and eventually pop out a couple of kids, move to the suburbs and that’s it for us. We’ll be just another boring couple, waiting to die.”

I stare at her wide-eyed. Fuck, she’s crazy. I grin. And I love it. I hold the other side of her face with my hand and force her to really look at me.

“I love you, Alex.” I raise my hands in the air and shout, loud and proud, “I fucking love you!” and then move them back to her face, “I want to be with you forever. No one else pisses me off like you can, but that’s because I don’t usually give a fuck. Not like I do about you. We burn brightly, like you said, but that’s not a bad thing. You set me on fire and woke me the hell up.”

She smiles sadly as her eyes look into mine. “We’re going to be like everyone else.”

I look at her like the adorably insane person she is, “No. Fuck Alex, it’s still us. I still race for a living. And you, well, you’re still you.”

Her hands fly to her hip, that fiery attitude coming out right on cue. “What the fuck is that supposed to mean?”

I laugh, still holding her face in my hands, leaning in I say, “You are a pain in the ass that busts my balls every chance you get.” I let my lips touch hers as I growl, “And I love you for it.”

Her lips form a smile against mine. “Say it again.”

“I love you, Alex,” I whisper it before taking her mouth with mine. I kiss her lips furiously, but take it a little easier when I realize that I don’t have to worry about this kiss being the last. She’s not going anywhere, because she’s mine. And I’m hers.

She pulls away for a second, her arms holding onto mine. “We don’t even live in the same state, and I am not moving to California no matter how much I love you.”

I laugh and drop my arms down, holding her waist with her hands gripping my forearms. “We can fix it.”

  “How?” she asks.

“Jax already talked me into moving,” I say as I quickly lift her up, tossing her over my shoulder and heading for the stairs toward the bedroom. “Got me with him and Charlotte having a kid. I have to be there for that.”

That secret escapes my mouth as we reach the top stair and Alex struggles to get down. When her feet hit the floor, she smacks my chest. “Charlotte is pregnant?”

“Fuck!” I say, running my fingers through my hair, “Don’t tell Jax.”

One hand goes on her protruding hip. “What the hell? I just had lunch with Charlotte the other day and saw Jax yesterday. Neither one said a word!”

I laugh and land a soft kiss on her lips, pulling her to me with my hands on her ass. “I guess that’s how badly he wants me to move back. He could still be lying.” I don’t really think that though. I nibble at her neck, “Now, do you really want to talk or do you want to fuck?”

She grins, answering me by biting my lower lip and unbuttoning my jeans at the same time, pulling me toward her.

  Fuck, I love this woman.

  Chapter 38

  About a month later….

  Alex

  I

spent a full week in California with Shriller, most of it in the bedroom. I mean it’s me and Shriller, but we went to the beach and did some touristy shit too.

Then I came back here and left him there.

Don’t worry, we’re still together. I’m done being scared and so is he. I’m stuck with that asshole for life.

I wouldn’t have it any other way.

He just had to put his house up for sale and work out the details with his manager Joel. But today he’s moving in with me.

I smile as I stand on the curb outside my apartment building as Jax, Dylan, and Shriller stand outside of the large moving van Shriller and Jax drove here from California.

They just pulled up and Dylan practically ran over to greet them. I watch with Brooke and Charlotte as they all fist bump and bro hug like the three days they’ve been apart has been torture.

“You guys ever get sick of this bromance bullshit?” I ask.

Charlotte, who finally told everyone that she was pregnant yesterday, just laughs. “You get used to it.”

Brooke smirks. “They just love each other so much,” she says jokingly, but it’s true.

We are all a mess. Most of them come from no family or fucked-up ones. In my case, I'm from a too perfect, nearly smothering one. So, we fixed it. We put together our own family that puts most families to shame. We fight, we make up. We meddle. We pry. We laugh together. We cry together. We would die for each other. And not one of us would change a thing.

After the guys finish taking up everything Shriller and I compromised on him moving in, Shriller wraps his arms around my waist as we stand with the other two couples outside.

Brooke who has Dylan’s arm around her says, “All right, we have to get home so I can start making dinner to celebrate the new baby.”

Shriller clears his throat loudly, in a joking manner and Dylan pats his shoulder in mock reassurance. “And you moving back home too, buddy.”

Brooke rolls her eyes but can’t keep the grin off her face. “Yes, I suppose it’s for that too.” She looks at me and Jax and Charlotte, “You guys coming over?”

Jax nods his head and Charlotte says, “Yep. We’ll be right behind you.”

I’m about to say the same, but I feel Shriller's lips graze my ear as he whispers gruffly, pulling my ass back into him, “I want to christen my new place first.”

I smile. There’s no way I’m turning that down. I clear my throat and try to wipe the stupid grin off my face, “We’ll be there soon. Wanna unpack some stuff.”

They all start walking to their vehicles, and as Jax is climbing into Charlotte’s car, he yells way too loudly, “Have fun boning, fuckers. Don’t be late for dinner though, I’m already starving!”

Shriller holds his middle finger up proudly as he ushers me inside. When we get onto the elevator, he wastes no time and his lips are instantly on mine, kissing me senseless.

When the elevator opens, we nearly run into our apartment, clothes flying everywhere, our mouths all over each other until I’m in my panties and he’s completely naked, with his arms around me standing in the middle of the hallway.

  “Where first?” he pants out.

I look around. “I think we’ve already done it everywhere,” I say.

“Not when it was my apartment too,” he says with that sexy smirk on his face.

  “The bed’s always good.”

He smirks and lifts me up, carrying me to our bed and throwing me on it like the first time we were together.

He joins me and I tremble with excitement as his fingers roam over the newest tattoo on my hip, right next to the old one of a rose. It now says, “Bitch,” in badass gothic letters. I grin at that as I move my fingers over Shriller’s tattoo, over his left ribcage that says in the same print as mine, “Asshole.”

Yeah, I know we could have gotten each other’s actual names or cutesy little sayings, but it’s us, after all. I’m his badass bitch and he’s my annoyingly cocky, asshole.

And I was afraid we were going to be boring and normal.

  The End

  Note from the Author

Seriously, thank you so much for reading Undone and sticking with me after that ending in Unraveled. But it make
s sense now, right? Alex and Shriller needed more time.

Miss the Monroes? Me too. I originally intended for this to be the end of the series, but now? Nah, fuck that.
