  A few minutes later, the side doors opened. An official Pinnacle employee shouted, “Pinnacle Security. Make way! Make way!”

  Huge, muscly security guards dressed in black fatigues jogged in.

  Roland recognized the group leader by the small delta force tattoo on his neck.

  The leader stopped right in front of Roland. “Sir. You need to come with us and answer a few questions.” The rest of his squad quietly and efficiently surrounded Roland.

  Roland froze and his eyes widened. “What did I do?” His mind raced. Do they know? He heard his heart beating loudly in his ears, as though it were keeping time with an executioner’s drumbeat.

  The leader never flinched. “We have questions about your whereabouts yesterday.” He nodded. His men, all of whom dwarfed Roland, grabbed Roland’s arms. “Come with us.” He turned and began heading out the door he had come in.

  Coach looked dumbfounded as he watched Roland’s video stream. “What’s going on?”

  Skylar stared in shock at her terminal. “No idea.” Did we miss something?

  Roland struggled against the guards. “I’ve done nothing wrong!”

  The wall of muscle manhandled Roland towards the door.

  Roland saw a tall, blue mohawk next to the doorway. He looked up at Duke.

  Duke was casually leaning his enormous bulk against the wall. He smiled like a Cheshire Cat as security whisked Roland by. He held up his blue metallic hand and waved his fingers, speaking obscenely loud. “Goodbye, leprechaun. Whatever you did, I hope you don’t come back! You never deserved to be here in the first place.”

  Roland glared at Duke. Then security tightened their viselike grip on his arms and yanked him down the long, dark hallway.
