  A few days pass, and one rainy night, stood upset by the back screen door watching her son Shane shouting in Stacey’s face.

  The rain started to pour heavier, Shane and Stacy argued badly, as Brenda stood at the screen door biting her bottom lip nervously.

  Watched Shane pushing Stacey around the yard when Brenda yelled, “SHANE NO!” Irate, shouted, “NO, SHE’S A ROTTEN MOM!”

  Pushed her down on the ground, stood above Stacey shouting at her, and Brenda running out the door fast and by Stacey on the ground crying.

  Irate, Shane went to actually hit her and Brenda lay over her saying, “Aw son, over my dead body, you will have to hit me to” and furiously said, “Move maw”. “I will not!”

  Lying huddled over Stacey that cried and throwing his hands up in the air, said, “I want you the hell out of here”,

  “Now Bitch!”

  Brenda cringed when he cussed and bent down saying, “Do you hear me Stacey”. Waved her hand out at him saying, “She heard your gutter mouth” and Stacey sobbing out, “Do not worry Shane, I am gone and will never come back”.

  Shouted, “GOOD!”

  Walked away and watched him go into the apartment building, rose up helping Stacey off the ground.

  Crying and pitying expression, Brenda said, “Oh Stacey, I am so sorry this is not like Shane at all”.

  “Don’t be sorry, I should never have come here Brenda”, doleful.

  “I’m leaving and watch over Logan”. Brushing off her jeans, reached picking up her purse.

  “Of course”, hugs Stacey.

  Walking away Stacey went getting into her car and Brenda stood there a second then going into the house highly upset at her son’s behavior and mainly for pushing a female down, although knew how Stacey hurt Shane badly.

  Raising Logan over a year now by himself and still struggling with the loss of his true love.

  Furthermore, Brenda had no idea that Stacey had stolen a thousand dollars out of Shane’s wallet which was for the truck payment and bills. She took the money for her drug habit and that really made his anger explode.

  However, Brenda hopes in time he will find another woman to love and live happily with, felt heartbroken along with her son.

  A few weeks later Shane finally calmed down after being angry and then went back to being depressed as Brenda felt like her heart was being ripped out.

  Especially after he broke down crying heavily in her arms one night. Shane cried telling her that he wanted to die again as Brenda became panicky and sobbing he told her do not worry he would not do that ever again, but that it’s hard raising five kids alone and working all day.

  Then after a long hard day, no one still there at your side.

  Running her fingers through his thick much longer black hair she said, “Aw my son, do not worry the right female is out there and believe she will come along”. Wiping tears replied, “Aw doubt it maw every woman always hurt me, Tara was an exception”.

  “Wrong Shane there will be another you’ll grow old with and be happier than ever”.

  Tears rolling, said, “Aw thanks maw, but I know you’re just saying that on account of me being you son”.

  Looking at him hanging his head said, “Pray Shane and have hope and those gray clouds may soon disappear”.

  Listened to his mother when little Logan started crying and waved her hand saying, “You just sit son, I will get the bottle”.

  The baby was screaming and Brenda hurried, Josh, Nicky and Lance all yelled, “Aw shut up!”

  Shane put his hands to his head saying, “Aw god help me I am so lonely and a man that’s trying to do right by these kids, but it’s been so hard”.

  A few day later, stood by the back door rose eyebrows high watching Shawn kissing a woman with long blonde hair that turns around walking away Brenda mumbles, “Jennifer?”

  Stepping aside when Shawn walked in asked, “Ah son, was that Jennifer”. “Ah huh, reaching in the refrigerator, grabs a juice box out and asked, “You’re cheating on Gina?”

  “No, where you been?”

  Stomps foot replied, “Right here and sure confused, I feel like Shane”. Laughs out, “Aw, I broke it off with Gina weeks ago and worked things out with my true love”.

  “Jennifer son?”

  “Yeah”, walking out the back door stood there mumbling, “Soap opera”, and walking in the back door turning around said Ella”. Nervous asked, “Heard you wanted to see me”. “You heard right sugar”.

  Eyes big says, “You don’t hate me”.

  Waves hand replied, “Never honey, I love you and apparently three of my sons do”.

  Walking over to the counter picks up a jar, turns around, walked over to Ella, and reached it out said, “This is for you dear”.

  Took the jar smiled said, “Peanut butter”.

  “Oh the best”.

  “Thanks Brenda, I love peanut butter”.

  Winks said, “Yes mama knows and that’s homemade, bought it at the Amish store”. Held it teary eyed and hand up added, “You need to try their pies, fantastic”. “Oh Brenda thank you”, and hugging Ella tightly says, “I love you sugar, always have and will.

  Frown, says, “I was scared you stopped”.

  Waves hand saying, “Hush now, water under the bridge, I was shocked and am sorry for hitting you Ella”.

  “I’m sorry to, but I love your sons Brenda”, teary eyed replied, “I know sugar”, patting her arm.

  Walking over to the counter showed Ella four jars said, “I’m going to make peanut butter fudge”.

  “Ooh sound good”.

  “I will make you a special platter”.

  “You don’t have to” and hand up, replies, “Ah, I want to sugar”.

  “Okay”, smiling.

  A week pass, Brenda’s birthday march 10th ,she made a big dinner the whole family there, and Jennifer brought a friend over that evening when Lydia took one look at Saul looking back she said, “Oh lord, hoped I never would see you again”.

  Handful of honey roasted peanuts, smirked, says, “Well you see me, huh”, tossing peanuts into his mouth.

  “I see you all right, lost my appetite”. Licking his lips, leans close whispering, “Wrong, bet you hoped to see me again”, and walked away laughing.

  In the kitchen, Ella walks behind Brenda asking, “You need my help?”

  Turning around held a pie, smiling said, “I bought an Amish pie, apple, this morning and wanted my special girl to try how good they are”.

  “Aw, Brenda”, teary eyed remarked, “Okay enough with this mushy business”. Ella laughs and Brenda added, “I lost my only daughter, tore my heart out, but I am so glad you come into my life and become like my own”.

  “Oh Brenda”, wipes a few tears, “Whew, choking up here, let’s go eat darling”, and smiled says, “I love you mama”.

  Throughout dinner, Saul held laughter back, noticing Lydia could not keep her eyes off, him and eating saw the woman glued at him made Ella feel nauseated. After dinner felt ill, when she heard Lydia telling Saul that he was right and how about coming over?

  “Nope”, walking away smirking, suddenly frown and standing before him, arms folded, Ella said, “Why not go, you must have been with her when we were married, right?”

  Upset, rushing away and hurried behind her. Lydia saw whispered, “Hey who was that red head by Saul?” Jennifer replied, “His e-wife”.

  Outside, Ella and Saul stood arguing,

  “Gee is there any women that you have not been with Saul?”

  “Why does it bother you were divorced remember”.

  Folding her arms, said, “That’s the reason why”.

  Aggravated, “Aw Ella it was nothing okay, not good either, it was years ago, what does it matter”.

  Shaking her head asked “You slept with her?”

  Frustrated, hands against his head, “Once”.

  “I can’t stomach looking at you”.

  Smirked, “Why you staring at me?”<

  “Oh I’m not”.

  Leans close in her face, “I think you like what you’re looking at, huh?” Eyes rolled, “Wrong”.

  Swiftly, pinned Ella up against the house, pushed his body firmly against her, “You would love for me to lay you down and give you the best”.

  Staring into bluest eyes, rattle in her voice, “No”.

  “Wrong, bet that sweet pussy is so wet right now?” Eyes huge.

  Moving his body slightly against her, hearts racing, both staring silently Saul dry humping faster against Ella, quietly moaning and grinning, brushing up against her cheek whispered in her ear, “Feel good Ella?” Breathing heavy, “Oh Saul”. Moving his body in circular motion pushing snug against Ella moaning, out, “Oh Saul”. “Aw what, sweets, wanting me to give it to you so good”.

  “Maybe”, breathing heavily.

  “Maybe, huh”, face-to- face, pushed hard against her. “Okay, yes, I do, you are the best at this”.

  Smirked, stepping back, cracking chewing gum and eyes big gasped out, “This was a joke, right?” Blowing a big bubble with his gum.

  “Not at all”. Straight-faced.

  “You make me sick”, walking away, easily snatched her back against him and asked, “Oh my god now what, more games?”

  “No, was trying to prove a point is all”.

  “What?”

  “You divorced me, because you were mad at me, but now I know, deep down inside, I will always be the one and best”, walked away, Ella stood there watching blonde hair blowing in the wind, yelled, “WRONG SAUL!” Hand up, kept walking his back towards her yelling back, “I’M RIGHT!”

  Hands on hips screams, “YOU’RE A JERK!” Turned around, walking backwards shouts, “CAN’T TAKE YOUR EYES OFF ME!” Stomping foot on the ground shouts, “I HATE YOU!”

  Shouting, “WRONG”, turned around walking away laughing and standing there watched him reaching the apartment building and before going in glanced back saw Ella still looking waves saying, “SWEET DREAMS!”

  Went inside laughing and stood there mumbling, “I’ll be dreaming of you tonight Saul”. Peeking out the window from inside his apartment saw Ella just standing there. Opens the window yells, “Want to come up, I’ll give you more, huh”.

  “No, I was just leaving”, and hanging his head out the window says, “Well go”. Blowing a big bubble with his gum and staring at him, thought, he is so cute. “Not leaving, change your mind Ella the doors open”.

  “Gee, I am”, walked to her car and watching her standing by the car, arms out asked, “What Saul?”

  Cracking on chewing gum says, “Watching you”.

  Swinging keys, “Why?”

  “So I can have sweetest dreams”, and smiles pointing the keys said, “Good one, you’re a smooth talker”.

  Got in the car saw him in the window and pulling away, blew her a kiss, swerved drove onto the lawn and laughing shut the window.

  A few weeks later, Ella stood at the car lot and asked, “Well what do you think?” Rose out from under the hood of a small two door red car Shane said, “Aw everything checks out fine”. Ella smiled saying,” I should buy it right?”

  Wiping his hands with a rag, he grinned saying, “You’re asking me what to do”. “Well of course Shane you are the mechanic of the family, I need your help and advice”. Looked at her staring back and said, “Buy it”, jumped up and down all excited as she even threw her arms around Shane and gave him a kiss.

  Eyes got large, his heart raced watching her run off to find the salesman. After buying the car, Ella told Shane that she was hungry and he followed right behind her in the truck to the taco shop where they ate lunch.

  A few weeks pass, Shane and Ella are spending much time together. On a Sunday, invited Ella with the kids over for a cookout and he stood by the grill flipping burgers she set the picnic table, even was tending to little Logan in the highchair, watched her, Shane smiling.

  Chapter 10.

  A few minutes later, sitting eating, Dylan with Nicky were playing their hand held video games that kept beeping and putting ketchup on his hamburger, Shane said, “Aw boys let’s eat first, put that away”, both shut them off.

  After a great meal, cleaning off the grill kept glancing at Ella cleared the whole table with Ashley help, and went lifting Logan out of the highchair, says, “Come here precious, want a bath”, excited patting tiny hands together, heard, yelled, “Aw, you don’t have to do all that Ella”.

  “I want to”, walking away with Logan in her arms Shane mumbles, “Sure nice having a woman around here”.

  Few minutes later, walking in the house hears laughter, went near the bathroom where he stood watching Ella laughing from Logan splashing water at her, leans against the wall grinning, when Logan hitting the water getting her soaked, “Aw need a towel Ella”, laughing, out, “Maybe feels good actually”. Snuck further into the bathroom, picking up the cup on the sink turns water on low filling the cup asked, “Sure it feels good Ella?” “Yes”, when suddenly, the full cup of cold water poured over the top of her head, screams out, “Ooh, want to play huh?”

  Started splashing water out from the bathtub at Shane running away yells, “Chicken!” Logan clapping tiny hands together, Ella laughing and hears Shane laughing peeking around the corner, says, “Missed me”.

  “Ah just wait”.

  “Yeah, you got to kiss me”.

  “Eye’s huge, “What?”

  “Well missed me now you got to kiss me” and splashing water at him again Logan was to getting Shane wet, and cheered, “Hooray we got you this time”.

  “Yeah ya did”.

  Went closer in the bathroom and looking up asked, “Need a towel?”

  Looks down, shaking his long dark dripping bangs on Ella’s face, said, “You can forget that kiss now”.

  Hurried grabbing the towel, wiping her face off and putting hands up laughing out, “Its fine”.

  Drying her face saying, “Nah, I want that kiss”.

  After Logan’s bath, took some time, Ella dressed him, lay him in the crib reaches the bottle to him says, “Sleep tight little fellow”, and standing by the door smiling. Turns away from the crib walked towards the door, long arm stretches out blocking her in the room, “Excuse me Shane”, and shook his head, “Not leaving”.

  “I’m not”.

  “Nope”.

  “Why not?”

  Puckers lips, giggling out, “Seriously Shane”, leans forward puckering lips, took a deep steady breath leaning forward, places her lips against his and kissed. Lips part fast staring at each other, “Aw, that felt nice Ella”.

  Smiling, “It did”.

  “It’s been so long with no affection, just for a fast touch felt good”.

  Heard, “Hey dad you playing basketball?”

  “Be right there boys”.

  Giggles, “Saved by the boys”.

  “Ha-ha, funny Ella”, both walking out.

  Outside, dribbling the ball asked, “Ready dad”, hand up said, “Hold on Josh”, and looking at Ella asked, “Want to play?” Rose her hand replied, “I can’t play basketball”. Sneer, holding the ball Nicky said, “No way dad!”

  Looked at him points saying, “How’d you like to go inside” and Nicky shook his long blonde bangs, Shane says, “Will play horse”, waving added, “Come on Ashley, you too little darling”, Sabrina made a face says, “Don’t want to daddy”.

  The basketball game begins, sat on the chair watching giggles saw her daddy cornering Ella over the ball, rolling his eyes Nicky asked, “Thought we are playing horse?” Smirking, Josh caught a glimpse and said, “Aw daddy has another game in mind”. Confused, Lance asked, “What?” Puzzled expression.

  Pointing said, “Does that answer your question”, saw Shane and Ella rolling on the grass, playing tug of war over the ball. Many eyes roll hearing their parents laughing and soon smiling watching them, since both have been sad often.

  Running into the garage grabbing another basket
ball, Josh runs back out, “Let’s get back to a real game.

  Hand on hip, “Can I still play?”

  Boys look at Ashley and Dylan asked, “Do you know how?”

  “Guess you’ll find out little brother”, when another game begins.

  On the grass, both lay, rose up slightly, leaning on his elbow said, “I had fun today Ella”, rolls over looking at him, “Glad you did Shane”, staring at her, his heart pounding said, “Hope we can have more days like this Ella”. Glanced at the kids having fun, said, “Many more Shane”.

  Few weeks pass, a new friendship grew stronger, Shane and Ella talked on the phone every night for hours, and went out to lunch a few more times and the gray clouds lifted for them both.

  One night around 11:00 pm Shane just got out of the shower, checked on the children sleeping went back into his bedroom lay across the bed, wearing only black jogging pants the phone rings reaching for it, “Hello”, grins, “Hey Ella”, lay on her bed smiling, “Hello Shane”.

  “What are you wearing Ella?”

  “What?”

  “Ah you heard me, just like to know”.

  “Oh, I see where this conversation is going”.

  “Where?” Sat up looking around, hears giggling and said, “Pink short nighty with pink silk panties”, heard heavy breathing.

  “You there Shane?”

  “Aw yeah, picturing it in my mind”, hand slid inside of his jogging pants and smiling said, “I am going to get off here Shane”.

  Breathing harder, “Aw me to Ella any second”.

  “Goodnight Shane”.

  “Ah, yeah, sure is now”, heard groaning and hung up quickly, lay across her bed giggling says, “Oh my”.

  A few days later, Shane took Ella out to see a movie and sat cramming popcorn into his mouth nearly choking, glanced at him giggles.

  After the movie, went to the town’s local diner and siting in a booth ready to eat when Saul with a blonde haired woman comes up to the table.
