“I am telling you that I’m choosing Christmas. I’m choosing you.”
He leaned over and kissed her before she could even fully speak the last word. Sliding onto the couch he curled himself behind her, pulling her in close to his body.
“I’m not exactly who I’m supposed to be yet, Sydney, but I thank God every day that I’m not who I used to be. I promise you won’t spend one minute regretting your choice.”
“I’m not quite who I’m supposed to be yet either, but I think we can get there together.” His cold arms wrapped around her warm body and she felt them melt into each other. There were no promises for happy endings. Risking your heart was a tricky game. But if you didn’t play, you’d never have a chance to win. Sydney was ready to win, and she’d finally found the man who could help her do it.
